The administration, however, hide in their offices and repeatedly refused to acknowledge that I had questions about billing, food choices, etc. Not once did they respond directly to me by text, phone or email, much less in person. The closest they came to responding to a billing question was to instruct the receptionist to basically tell me to shut up and pay my bill. She didn't appreciate being used that way, either. If you're good at dealing with unresponsive administration, the care and dietary staff about make up for them.

Come to find out they are NOT covered by my insurance. Their excuse was that they "take" my insurance, but they haven't been in-network for 4 years. WHY did you not say that when I called? My insurance company lists their dentist as in network, but apparently it's at another location and Herald Family told me they've "been trying" to get it taken down. I'm sorry, you've been out of network for four years, and you can't get them to remove you from the website? What a lousy excuse. I also had to wait 30 minutes to see a dentist after my cleaning was done because the dentist I was supposed to see was at lunch. Don't schedule appointments at lunch time if you can't see your patients. Stay so far away!

Dr. Frew made sure she humiliated, belittled, and excoriated him, even noting that her dental schooling was expensive when he noted finances were one reason he hadn't come in sooner. I notified the office after we got home and the office manager called me. She said she'd talk about it with Dr. Herald. Husband went in for an appointment with Dr. Herald and he seemed to have no clue or, if he did, he didn't see to care. He left without getting anything done and will not go back. I'm beyond disappointed. I'd recommend Dr. Herald, but not Dr. Frew.

They hooked me up with wound care on the fourth floor, to make sure that my leg doesn't slide back in to what it looked like when I arrived at the hospital on June 12, 2019. The whole experience has been good. What else is interesting is that I've been at this hospital so much between my husband being there for his medical issues and my own, some of the staff now recognizes me when I come in to the hospital. I'm almost surprised that my husband and I don't have our own reserved room and parking spot! Ha!

I was cold after the iv injection, the nurse give me additional 3 warm blanket. Fell asleep in the operating room quickly, when i woke up, the procedure has been done and seems everything is fine. Glad to be alive. 3 days later, doctor called me on Sunday telling me he will prescribe me the medication with the new test result. I'm impressed that the doctor actually called patient on his Sunday! Good service!

They have daily activities, shuttle rides to local shopping and events, recreation and craft rooms with computers, popcorn machines and large screen TVs. Mail is delivered to individual "P.O. Box"-style mailboxes, which gives the residents the opportunity to check their own mail. For those who may not be as mobile, the mail will be delivered to each room. Laundry facilities are on the premises and available for the residents to use as they wish. Alternatively, the staff remains on call to perform laundry duties as needed/desired. Meals are expertly prepared by a staff chef and the table settings rival what you would experience at a 4-star restaurant. A padded leather, Atria-stamped, bi-fold menu is provided at each linen-covered table with the regular food selections on the left and the special of the day prominently displayed on the right. One of several servers tend to your every need from beverage order to dessert. Special requests? Just ask. I overheard one of the residents inquire about the sweet potato soup ingredients and the executive chef made his way to the table and spent the next few minutes interacting with the resident regarding her inquiry. She ended up getting the soup. Good choice on her part. I had it too and it was excellent. Perfect temperature and the flavor was superb. Each room is fully furnished. 3/4 size fridge/freezer, kitchenette, coat closet, 32" TV, two padded full size chairs in the living room area, one double bed, clothes closet, large windows, spacious bathroom area with a sink, handicap-ready toilet and walk-in shower. For those in the latter stages of their life, there is a special hospice wing where the level of care is adjusted according to the individual's needs. Residents each wear an emergency contact wristband, so if they are ever in a bind and need help, they simply push the button and a staff member (usually more than one from the report I received from someone who actually had to use it recently) will show up ready to help. Bottom Line: Atria is a cross between a Marriott and Bon Secours and it's staffed with genuine folks doing their jobs as if it wasn't a job. Well done, Atria!
