Fantastic experience, from excellent and attentive service in an intimate atmosphere to delicious food ( hard ti pick, so many choices!!) presented on beautiful China. Waiting over 2 weeks to do this review leaves me at a loss, as I can't remember exactly what was ordered, even when looking at the menus and my photos, but the fish was fresh, delicious, correctly prepared and just delicious. It's been on a list to try and I'm glad I did. Two of us went for brunch early on a Sunday morning. Service was spot on and attentive. The dining room was not full, so it was a great place to have a nice conversation and visit. No rush to turn the table. An omelet with Brie cheese got high marks from my guest. I had Mexican breakfast that was very good. I was looking for a bit more of a kick, but I think it was in the salsa verde which I didn't enjoy. First time in with friends for dinner on a summer weekday evening. Parking can be a bit of fun in the Rosemary district in Bradenton, but we snagged a space a block away. The restaurant is part of the historic district and sports beautiful buildings, and incredible garden dining. While it was too warm to sit outside in the amazing space, we were seated promptly and service was very good throughout our dinner. We brought our own wine, corkage $25, which is reasonable. The restaurant provided a decanter for one of our two bottles. Summer prix fixe offers a nice selection for $45 with an appetizer, entree and one of three desserts. I had the escargot (delicious 5star) appetizer and two of us had the hangar steak and frites (also perfectly cooked and delicious) and the nutella crepe (sinfully delicious). Another guest had the fish and finally a duck l'orange. All in all exactly what is needed for a terrific dinner. read more

Sat in the outside patio on 11/15 for dinner. We had the chicken tamale and the the meat ball for starters. Incredible flavor and came out steaming hot. Our entrees were the branzino and the house smoked brisket. The food was awesome and enough to bring some home. The deserts were incredible. There 3 course meal for $40 is an incredible bargain with some of the best food in this area. There are always many choices for the started and entrees. We returned for dinner with friends on a night that they featured Regional Cajun cuisine. The special menu had 4 choices of appetizers and 4 entree options. You could pick one of each for $40. I had the Gumbo cup of soup that was served in a cute tea cup. My main course was the Short Rib pot roast. My husband had the seafood dip with the seafood pasta and our friends had Caesar salads with the Branzino. Excellent food all around. Our server was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Decide to eat here for Mother's Day. I was very disappointed. The ambiance is beautiful but the food is not at all worth the price. It was the worst meal I think I have ever had. Both omelettes were tasteless. The potatoes were plain and not crisp. My biscuit came out cold as if it came from the freezer. I asked to have it replaced and that biscuit came out so hard I couldn't slice it. I left most of my meal. Our food was worse than diner to say the least. We will never visit again. read more

We had reservations for Easter Sunday at 2 pm. When we were seated we were told the kitchen was running behind and it would be about 40 minutes to get our orders. After an hour and no sign of food at our table we started asking when we would get our meals. We sought out the manager twice and both times we were told he was sorry and he would check on our orders and get back to us. After an hour and a half we were given a bottle of wine but no sign of food. We decided to leave. We told our three beverages were free and as we were leaving - one hour and forty minutes after we arrived - our food arrived. We were so exasperated by that time we left without eating....and went to Libby's. No problem there and even though we had no reservation. This was a major screw up at a popular and usually good restaurant. It would have been better if they had just told us at the start that things were a mess and they had no idea when they would be able to serve us. read more

The service, even with reservations, was abysmal. We had three people with orders off the menu (no special orders). We waited over an hour and had to speak to a manager to get our food. Our waiter promised we were close and then disappeared for over 20 minutes. Even after speaking to the manager, we had to wait another 20 minutes. We were going to a show and had allowed 2 hours for dinner. It wasn't enough. We did not have enough time to finish our meal before we had to leave. Dined with a dear friend on a summer Saturday evening. My first visit and my friend's recommendation after dining @ The Rosemary 6 years ago. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. From making the reservation with Jeff, to the service and suggestions provided by Arpi and team, to the gracious bartender who welcomed us after finishing our meal, the staff was impeccable and genuinely delightful. At one point we asked about the architecture of the building, and Arpi brought over a staff member who enthusiastically gave us the history and thought behind the design. THIS is what sets a dining experience apart from "dining out!" It was lobster tail night so we enjoyed a complimentary cold water lobster tail with our meals. The aged filet mignon served with Demi glacé and Watermelon Radish Halibut with mango risotto were cooked perfectly and even more delicious than described. Our Mojito and Strawberry Mint Spritzer were the "icing on the cake," garnished with fresh mint, so no dessert for us this time, but can't wait to return for the whole experience. read more

Came here for their weekday special. Had the Louie Shrimp and the filet mignon with seafood. Finished the meal with carrot cake. The boss had the salmon with lemon dill sauce and risotto. Our meals were delicious. The filet was prepared the way I asked and the meat was extremely tender. The seafood was also prepared perfectly. My wife's salmon was cooked properly and the lemon dill sauce was perfect for the salmon. And the carrot cake was amazing. Dense yet moist. Filled with flavor -yummy. Thirty of us celebrated my husband's 80th birthday in our own dining room (plus part of the patio) at Rosemary & Thyme last week and I've run out of ways to praise it. Came for the 3 course meal and had a great experience! We had a date night and had made a reservation. We got drinks while we waited for our table. The restaurant was busy, but they seated us in a quieter room, which we were thankful for. I gumbo, steak (and a lobster tail), and cheesecake. It was all fantastic. First visit to Rosemary and Thyme and I can call it one of my favorite restaurants in Sarasota. The food and service were both amazing. We sat on the patio and it was a great atmosphere. I think a lot of theatre people dine here after shows, and it was a busy night. I ordered the Canard a l'orange (duck) just to try something different and it was amazing. My husband ordered steak and loved it. I ordered one of the mocktails on the menu and it was just okay, but the world is still trying to figure out mocktails. I don't even wanna give this one star. I made a reservation for Mother's Day a couple weeks in advance for my handicapped mother and my and I this was a special Mother's Day for us. When we walked in, it was chaos and very unorganized I had asked for a table that would accommodate my mother, and we were sat by the kitchen in a very high traffic area. Our table was incredibly wobbly so I had gone to tell the hostess about the table. She came to try to fix it and was having a hard time doing so there was a table nearby that was empty and would've been more accommodating for my mother and when I asked if we could move there, the up, looked at me and said look, all the tables rocky. I told her I found that hard to believe and when I went over to check the table, it was fine and when I told she rolled her eyes at we moved to the table. Nobody helped bring anything nor were we even greeted at the table. We sat for 29 minutes with not even hello or a menu water or anything no acknowledgment at all so we decided to leave, and as we walked out the door, the smug hostess, who was incredibly rude, looked at me and smiled with a terrible smirk like thank God they are leaving no apology no nothing. I did send an email about our experience and of course I'm ignored about that as well. I will never have anything good to say about this restaurant. I really am still amazed at how bad we were treated on Mother's Day of all days and like I said this was a very hard Mother's Day. read more

Very disappointed with our dinner. Starting with the positive , service and ambiance was fine. We tried the $40 menu. Total rip off. The main complaint was not the food which was was still underwhelming. We had pasta and a small steak as a main dish. A tea cup size soup. Honestly? Tea cup? Why would anyone order a "menu" at that price? Ordering off the main menu would be better value and probably higher level of cuisine. The restaurant was freezing when we arrived and the owner only arrived later to turn on the heat. Overall not impressive. I would expect some effort on the owners part to compensate for the cold temperature. Several people complained. Offer a drink or dessert. Offer a normal size soup bowl . Offer 3 courses on a $40 menu. Greedy and skimpy is not the way to get return customers. read more

I feel like I should say that I was at Rosemary and Thyme with my father, who is a longtime, regular customer. They know him by name. He knows them by name. So that usually means you get "better" service than the "unwashed masses"...you know?? So if this was their "better" service....yikes. Now let's review the fact that I have owned and operated my own, independent restaurant for over a decade. I've worked in the restaurant industry for multiple decades. So I'm not just blowing smoke here. LOL Place was half full out on the very large/roomy patio where we ate. Less than half full inside. So they should not have been overly "pressed." IMO Service was almost absent. As in it was difficult to get the staff to come back to our party of 9 for stuff like wine glasses so more than one person could drink wine or to, you know, take our orders for dinner. It was like, "Just give me some glasses and I'll pour us all wine." Because I am ME, I reviewed the dinner menus online before I went. I don't eat beef, pork or poultry so I like to get a lay of the land before going to a new restaurant. I also like to have a plan for what I might want to try. There were plenty of seafood offerings. There was even a cauliflower steak. So I was actually kind of excited to try their food. While I was at Rosemary and Thyme (over two hours) and when I left last night all I could think was, "Meh." So I slept on this review and here I am the day after. It's still, "Meh." Food was tasty, well prepared, well seasoned, presented nicely. Portions were tiny. Like actually absurd, given the prices. Again, I know about restaurant pricing and I PAY a lot of money to dine out. However.... I ordered a Caesar Salad. It was good. It was also the size of a side salad, for $13. I ordered the seared Halibut. It comes with a veggie choice (I got the asparagus) and carb (I got risotto). You also can choose a sauce to accompany your entree (Fun!). I chose Bernaise (it turned out be a very poor example of Bernaise with the consistency of water. Oh well). The entire plate was the size of what I would consider an appetizer. And by that I mean all three items together on that plate would have been a nice appetizer size. It was $50. Which is actually STUPID. The tableware is beautiful. Every little plate, delightful. But so what? Absolutely not worth the price. You have to pay almost $100 to still be hungry...although the bread on the table was STELLAR. But, my friends, I do not dine out to have to fill up on the bread because the portions are tiny. Setting is very nice. But, again, so what? This is a restaurant and we come to eat. When I dine out, as you might know, if you are a regular to this channel, I come hungry. Well, you will also leave hungry if you take that approach to Rosemary and Thyme. I mean unless you order double of everything?? Which I just can't see as a legitimate expenditure. Meh. read more

An adventurous visit It was by accident that we found ourselves considering a return visit to Rosemary & Thyme. A check of the menu online while we stood outside convinced us to go inside. We didn't have reservations but were still able to get a table outside in their patio. Beautiful spot. Our adventure begins. We were seated and then just kind of sat there, messing with our phones, finally realizing we weren't getting any service. When we finally started looking around, one of the two servers noticed and came over. I think each thought the other had us. Now things got started. I ordered their Rosemary Reuben, my wife their Bermuda Fish Cake Benedict, and it took about 15 minutes for the food to arrive. It was only then that we realized we had no silverware. It took a few minutes signal someone, who got our server, who got us silverware. Just at that very moment a bug landed on one of the eggs. Aargh. We pointed the bug out to our server, he may have even seen the impact as we did. We both started eating, me my sandwich, my wife the other egg, while our server went to get a replacement. As for the food, my sandwich was fine. I had expected something messier and the corned beef was sliced thin and perhaps overheated, but it was fine. As for the Benedict, we ended up with a new set of two, so I had one. I wish the Hollandaise sauce was tastier, either buttery or citrusy, but overall this was good. The four stars was just I wished the food was a little better. We appreciated how the bug issue was handled and had very good service for the rest of our visit. I recognized the voice of one of my favorite personalities from my favorite local radio station, WSLR, sitting at the next table. When they got up to leave, I got to say hello. Way cool. Today was Easter Sunday ...we had reservations at 11:30 am and requested outdoor dining as it was a beautiful day ... but denied ( although there were empty seating outdoors) and placed at a small table in the corner of the dining room . We were greeted by our server and handed us the limited Easter Brunch menu ... consisting of 4 entrees and 2 beverages. We ordered drinks and placed our order ; eggs Benedict and mother's sausage casserole. At 1:00 pm the restaurant owner stopped by the table to apologize for the long wait and indicated it was the result of a staff member who resigned . There was an oscillating fan over the table which the back of the fan was covered in dust . We brought it to the owner's attention and he acknowledged he was aware of it . Not a good thing having the fan blowing dust into the dining room . At 1:15 pm our entrees finally arrived... almost 2 hours later only to be very disappointed. The eggs were over cooked , the English muffin was not toasted and cold ... and the portion of the casserole was a piece 3x3 inches and a few breakfast potatoes... each entree was 28$ ... not worth the money . Server Chris greeted us with the answer to "what is best choice?" Close your eyes and point to anything! Delightful setting in a vintage feel, although the building is fairly new. Loved the peaceful and quiet scene with Individual rooms and a very cool bar. They serve hundreds daily so very successful! It's a prixe fixe menu and we loved all the choices! Shrimp fruit salad for me, seafood stew for my sister and an excellent crab, Brie and Swiss au gratin for her husband. YUM. And then . . Beef tournedoes, Branzino and Swordfish for the second course, accompanied by creamy risotto and green beans and carrots . . All perfectly cooked. Dessert choices were ho hum. PLENTY of parking and FREE (my favorite especially in Sarasota - thieves!!) Awesome building and decor. We were seated immediately and had a very nice table. The seat where very comfortable and sturdy. Jesus was prompt and efficient. we did have to ask for refill on water and coffee and the half container of "half and half" needed tending as well. We just had to ask. No problem. I go the signature Burmuda Fish Cake Eggs Benedict (the only eggs Benedict on the breakfast menu.) The eggs were perfectly cooked!! , the Hollandaise sauce with hints of lime was very lovely. The fish cake was a fairly thick affair and tasted pretty good albeit maybe a little "bready" (like a crab cake this can be a personal preference - I am not a fan of filler and breading) , the muffin or bread on the bottom was possibly a fresh unit, but with the fish cake on top this was a lot of not crisp components and it just seems like a thick bit of fish flavored bread. (maybe toast the muffin or maybe since my wife and I split this I got the "bottom half' of the muffin so it was thicker the just the lid?) I dunno. sorta dry and spongy. 6/10 The breakfast potatoes were interesting and nicely spiced and crispy and very nicely prepared. I enjoyed them. 8/10 The Classic breakfast for my daughter was the same side of potatoes, good by her feedback - 8/10. White toast was good. The sausage was also a good product 8/10. The eggs were a bit too quickly cooked with the buttery veil of burnt crisp in the edges and nooks and crannies (see picture somewhere) and with the one side overcooked/fast cooked, the other side got way less than and "easy" (more like a flash) and the result was snotty clear whites underneath. 4/10 My wife got the St. George Omelet with the onions and mushrooms and tomatoes with bacon on the side and cheesy grits. The grits were pretty tasty and cooked properly - 8/10. The bacon did not arrive with the entree, they were cold, cooked well/crisp they way my wife likes it, but had the oil/grease solidified on it. She took one bite and left all three pieces. (I tried one just to say I did. 3/10. The omelet and the ingredients had the making of a good repertoire of flavor? Unfortunately it seems some too fast work on the grille/pan resulted in some over cooked eggs, with the butter veil of lace crisp and then sadly an under-cooked interior of egg and less then hot vegetables. The brie cheese was a nice touch so again, a little better attention to the time and speed of the cooking and this could be a LOT better. 5/10 We enjoyed this visit. Agains service was very good and the prices on par with even less impressive local establishments. We got out of there with tip under $60 for 3 folks. A little more slow and a little less 'gas' pedel in the kitchen and these items will all be higher up on the scale!!! read more

This is the place that has not yet been "discovered" in Sarasota. I could not say enough about how much I loved my Sunday girls brunch at Rosemary and Thyme. The brunch selections were fantastic. I had the smoked salmon omelette but other girls had fish cake benedict and sandwiches. We ALL had flower drop martinis. And some of us (all of us) had a second round. All of the serving dishes are one-of-a-kind. We sat outside at the cutest table - with a table cloth. It was exquisite. I will be back! read more
