just wanted to share the rudeness of the hostess from last night 5/19/2026. we made a reservation online for 7. arrived and requested again for a sit at the window. the hostess tried putting us in a corner table with a column next the the chair knowing we had someone with a wheelchair. asked to be moved to another table attitude was bad she wouldn't sit us at a table for 5 with a nice view as we requested 2 times said it was a table for 5 not 4. so sat use in the middle of the floor and sat antoher 4 people at another view table . went to the restroom and saw 3 people at the table for 5. with us we had someone from a nursing home that wished to be at the window and the hostess was so rude. karma sucks! my aunt has been going there for over 30 years and no respect from that hostess, she could give a shit. tried 2 times to talk with a manager to day and it just goes to voice mail. ill take my 500 and go to another restaurant. read more

Highly recommend! We had a fabulous lunch. We started with icy cold cocktails that were good and strong. I had the signature Harbor Salad with blackened mahi. The romaine was crisp and fresh with a delicious raspberry vinaigrette. The sweet strawberries, tangy bleu cheese, crunchy candied walnuts complemented the light, flavorful blackened fish. This was amazing! My date had the grilled grouper sandwich. The filet was light, fluffy, and flavorful. Delish! Our server was attentive and didn't rush us. Simply put, the food was great, service was better at McDonald's second time in a row. I'm a local who used to come here at least once a month. I've had Amanda as a server both times I've been here this month. My grouper sandwich had more enthusiasm and vigor than she did. Is she overworked? The food is good. Never had A bad meal there. I don't mind the food but to have three poor experiences on the back deck service, two by the same server, is just silly. She might be a great server but not from what I saw. The place is nice, there's free parking and a nice view at the back deck seating. The place has 3 different seating area styles Outside deck with outdoors bar, inside dinning with a deck as well and an upstairs. All three places have different menus and apparently different kitchens. The fancy of the menu escalates as you go in and up the spot. Theres no real dress code for the outdoor bar as is very casual since is aimed at marina boat people. As we came in we sat at the inside restaurant deck and waited almost ten minutes for a menu, we felt really annoyed. When we realized that we sat and the fancier restaurant deck and saw how much time they took to take care of us, assuming it was we were dressed more casually we decided to go to the bar deck seating and have a lighter meal. We were there after the beach and celebrating a bday so we were not ready for dinning quite yet either. I had a nice little frozen drink that is chocolate based with like a vanilla taste I think it was a mud slide and it was pretty good. I had also the SEAFOOD CHOWDER, that one I did not like, it tasted salty, not quite like sea food but more like sausage for some reason. Also felt like it was over cooked as the shrimp in the soup was disintegrating and not in a good way. For my main meal I had the AHI TUNA POKE BOWL, that was a ok light meal but also not the best to justify the prices in the place. The one very nice thing was our service. Our water I think his name is DAN, he was super nice and helpful, he also gave our bday girl a nice little pie slice for her bday and a celebration cup. He was the best part of the experience. This is a nice place for the vibes and the view but the food, at least for the menu we had which was the outside bar, this was not a place I will be revisiting. read more

The view, service, and second floor dining restaurant is very nice. The food leaves room to be desired. Reservations wasn't the friendliest of phone calls either. The food is really just okay, prices are higher than what you would expect. I probably had one of the better dishes at the table, the ribeye panini. But even then, the bottom bun was soggy and disintegrating on first bite (perhaps due to our party being so large). The pork chop wasn't juicy and the grouper sandwich was just okay, not much flavor to it. Burger was cooked to specification. Coconut shrimp was okay, probably not worth the price here. Overall the food wasn't as seasoned/had enough flavor for our taste. But... CHOCOLATE CAKE WAS TO DIE FOR. If anything, come here for the chocolate cake. Even the people who don't like chocolate cake, enjoyed it. The slice of cake was also a nice birthday surprise from the restaurant. Haven't been here for a while... Here for a private event. Valet parking or walk from the park parking lot which is just a few minutes walk. Service here is always prompt and friendly. The chicken piccata was tender and a large portion. The green beans were good but the mashed potatoes were excellent. Dessert was served but I didn't eat. Well...I'm hungry. We battled the gauntlet for a parking spot and happily walked to Marina Jack anxiously awaiting our lunch on the water. Excited as they weren't super busy and we were promptly seated on the patio. Unfortunately the hostess interaction would be the last time anyone spoke to us. We sat with menus in hand for over 20 minutes watching everyone walk past and ignore us. Ultimately we had to pull the plug and walked out. No water, No Food, No anything. With a T1D daughter we couldn't wait any longer for someone to give a ---- that we decided to eat at Marina Jacks on this given Sunday afternoon. Came here for a work lunch. We enjoyed our food, the view was great, and we were the only ones in the place. It was hilarious, but it also made the lunch feel like a private party. Yay us. Our server was nice, but asked a few strange questions. I ordered the poke bowl. She may have been told to ask these things, but the delivery and force she did made it seem like she was shocked I ordered the item, or didn't like the meal so she wanted me to pick something else. Her questions were along the lines of "You do know it is raw, right?" "Are you sure that is what you want?" "That tuna is not cooked to a temperature. Are you sure you are okay with that?" I met with family for lunch yesterday at Marina Jacks. It is on the water in Sarasota and just surrounded by beautiful views of the grand yachts and beautiful water views. It has indoor & pavilion seating. I chose a nice spot outside under the pavilion (since I sunburn easily). The waitress immediately came over and gave us menus and asked if we wanted anything to drink, and she said she would bring us water anyway to start. In my opinion the water is not filtered so skip the water, tasted fishy which is normal for the area. I also don't get ice for the same reasons. The drink specials were not bad and you got to keep the glass (they gave us new ones in boxes) nice touch. The refills were cheaper but we didn't get any more. I had Jacks Punch and it was delicious! I highly recommend trying it if you're not a huge fan of just beer every time. We order the coconut shrimp from the appetizer menu and they were so good I couldn't get a picture of them (you get 8 of them). I also got a bowl of fresh fruit and it was great. Fresh fruit except the pineapple looked a little bit on its way out. But delicious nonetheless. Price wise it's not bad unless you're on a budget. The appetizer was $19 & the fruit was $5. The drinks were the most expensive. Mine was $23, refills at a discount $15. My husband had an IPA and it cost $15 I believe with $7 refills. I have a picture of the menu with the price. The restaurant has handicap parking, and entry. Handicap restrooms and family restrooms. The restroom was very clean and well maintained. I'm extremely particular about the restroom and I have walked out of many disgusted and left the restaurant bc of it. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant/ bar/marina. Had a couple Moscow mules that were good ( day drinking but we were celebrating a birthday) Service was friendly but a little slow considering it wasn't very busy at 2:00 in the afternoon We had the crab cake appetizer to start ( it was $22) which was fine except it was only one very small crab cake no bigger than a round Jimmy Dean sausage. I would have taken a pic of it but after 1 fork full , it was practically gone. They should def have two for that price. BTW it was very good, just teeny tiny. I was surprised there wasn't more seafood on the menu for the entre'. Really was very little fish entre's on the lunch menu. There was a grouper sandwhich. Other sandwiches offered were a burger, a Rueben , French dip , fajitas ... again , very surprised at the lack of seafood, maybe the dinner menu has more. So we ended up having the French dip. This was actually very good size ( we split... and they brought out on two separate plates which was nice). It was a good French dip and half with a some fries that came with it was filling. Did not have a great experience here. Came with my family for a late lunch that turned into a very late lunch. They may be understaffed, I'm not sure, and I'm sympathetic to that, but there were plenty of other issues as well. I got the ahi tuna bowl, my mother for the quinoa bowl, my father got the burger, and my brother got the pesto chicken sandwich. We spent an hour and a half waiting for the food, which essentially had to just be assembled. When the food came, the sandwiches were cold and soggy. My ahi tuna bowl tasted like nothing. My mom left all the clementine pieces in her salad barely touched because they tasted like they were dumped out of a can. I will say, the sweet potato fries and the regular fries were great. They are those extra crispy and craggy ones that are everyone's favorites. The staff was pretty disorganized. A table that got there right before us got their food, ate, and left well before our food came. Almost the same thing happened with a table that came after us. We were offered dessert on the house for our excessive wait, but we declined, as we had to get going. I did appreciate the gesture. The highlight of the atmosphere is the view of the water. The location is pretty convenient too. However the acoustics of the place make it extremely loud. We couldn't hear each other talk. It seemed like every person in the restaurant was dragging and scraping their chair on the ground at all times, and that sound was echoing back and forth from the floor to the ceiling. It really was unpleasant how loud it was. It was also self-seating, which added another layer of complexity to an already chaotic scene. Overall, not a great experience. In spite of the nice location and view, I would likely try to go somewhere else. read more

We stopped by this spot a little after noon on a sunny Sunday in December 2024, and wow, it couldn't have been a better day. The weather was so nice we asked to sit outside, and the view of the water was absolutely stunning. To top it off, we even saw a few dolphins swimming by--such a cool surprise! The vibe was super relaxing, and the service was quick and friendly. We started with a dozen oysters, which were incredibly fresh and tasted amazing. I even found a tiny pea crab inside one of them-- I'm taking it as a sign of good luck! Upon my request, our waiter kindly released the little guy back into the water, which was such a fun and memorable moment! I wish I remembered his name, he was really great! (The waiter, not the crab lol) For our main dish, my fiancé and I both had the ahi tuna poke bowl, and it was so good. The tuna was perfectly fresh, the toppings were flavorful, and the whole bowl was balanced perfectly. It's been two days, and I'm still thinking about that poke bowl! Overall, everything about this place was fantastic--great food, awesome views, and such a pleasant experience. I'm thinking about having a rehearsal dinner here in a few months! Great time here today. The pina colada with an extra shot of rum on the side is very good. The painkiller is just ok. The clam chodwer was awesome - lots of very tender clams. Our last two visits changed that. This week, we stopped by mid-day for sandwiches with a view - Reubens. Sadly, they had more dressing than meat; two lonely slices. We only hope this is not a trend for MJ. Too many other spots in Sarasota offer the real thing, packed with tender meat. It might be a challenge now to get my husband to try MJ again. I was expecting to be blown out with the food, but i was disappointed. From 1-10 I would rate my gooper sandwich.to be a 4.5 and the rice peel off was about a 2.3. we also ordered the seafood roll. On a scale from 1-10 again it was a 4.0 it was smothered in the sauce. the bread was a plane role. But the service was good 5 out of 10. We ate at the downstairs outdoor patio, different menu than inside. Nice view, cheap outdoor furniture, above and beyond service and so-so food. Our server was Christian. He was excellent and gets a 12/10. What we ate: Coconut Shrimp: 6/10 The shrimp were okay. The sauce was weird and either out of date or had just gotten too cold and became nearly solid. It was a very strange consistency and did not have a good flavor. Poke Bowl: 7/10 It was pretty good. I actually really loved the slaw. It had great flavor. I enjoyed it in place of rice but there wasn't very much of it. The avocado, which I consider a key ingredient, was browning and there was a very small amount as well. Aside from that, it was a good poke bowl. Taco Salad Bowl: 5/10 The guest that ordered this really wanted it with ground beef. Appreciate Christian trying to find a way to get him the dinner he wanted by offering the option of buying a single burger patty. Would have been nice if the kitchen could have crumbled it or at least sliced it. The presentation looked pretty horrible but not a big deal. They put me at a window table and secretly charged me $100 for the table without my knowledge when the bill came out... The pistachio crusted grouper was not very good. Color was off and no flakiness with the finish was moist and soggy as well as like warm when it came out. If it weren't for Christina it would have been a very disappointing Valentine's Day dinner. Don't Go Hungry! We went to the piano bar -The Deep Six Lounge. After 20 minutes of waiting for water and seeing countless staff just walk by us, I finally went up to the bar and asked if we could get service. The bartender was very nice and explained that she would come by to help us if she could not find a server. 10 minutes later and still no water, I flagged down a server and asked again if we could please get service. He was also nice and did bring us water. The bartender eventually came back to take our order. Unfortunately, we waited about 40 minutes just to get drinks and at least 50 minutes just to get bread. I ordered the Mahi Francaise, which was excellent. My husband ordered the chicken pasta alfredo, which really lacked cheese and seasoning. The piano guy was nice. It will be difficult for us to come back - maybe if friends are going (we are residents) and want us to join; otherwise, it's not worth it. Where do I begin... This was our first and last time dining in the Main Dining room (upstairs) over looking the water. It was a Saturday night. The views of the water are pretty good. The food, however, leaves you wondering how in the hell you paid $100 per person for such sub-par food. We started with the Mussels Fra-Diablo which, according to the menu is served with garlic bread. It was brought out ice cold and no garlic bread. When we inquired about the garlic bread the waitress seemed confused. She said it doesn't come with garlic bread. I then showed her the menu which was there in black and white. She shrugged her shoulders. First bite and couldn't believe it was ice cold. I honestly believe it was made up hours before, refrigerated, and warmed in a microwave. Horrible. Entrees arrived soon after. Short ribs were quite fatty and too much salt. Scalloped potatoes were Like warm . The vegetables were good. My wife ordered the filet mignon, medium rare. It was brought out very rare. They took it back to redo. Mean while, my dinner was getting cold. 15 minutes later. Filet was reserved. Cooked right this time. My wife said it was Jody okay. Bottom line, this is an overpriced tourist trap. Don't expect a meal you'll rave about, quite the opposite. But the views are pretty good. I will admit that the food served on the outside patio is pretty good and reasonably priced. read more

I'm not sure who the chef is of this restaurant, but they need to go back to school. All of the food was bland and did not taste fresh. The seafood tasted like it came out of a can. With so many better choices locally I would highly recommend that you do not step foot in this place. I felt like I got ripped off based on the quality of the food and will never be back. Management, please don't bother to reply to come back again because that's a joke. Maybe you'll do better next time? Blinking sunshine-smiling into the blue. That's how you feel at the Sunshine Blue Patio bar and grill. It's right on the water-with gorgeous views of the surrounding marina and all the beautiful boats and yachts. Truly, the setting is sublime-and you can take the prettiest post-meal walk, drinking in all the seasonal blooms with a stunning downtown skyline backdrop. It's the perfect setting to impress friends and family from colder/cloudier climes. It's right there, on the first floor of the Marina Jacks facility. It's all open to the outside... with the first section covered by a permanent roof... and then two steps down to a lower terrace, right on the water- with a tent roof above. Both are great spots. The part with the permanent roof has seating at the full bar and at tables scattered about. It's louder there-kind of echo'y-but the chairs are comfy. A few of the tables are out in the sun. You still have the view and fresh air and the tables are spread apart. Down in the lower, more coveted spot, there are fewer tables and they're closer together-but it's quieter and you're right on the water. Both locations are exquisite. So, the food. It's a big menu. We started with some warm pretzel sticks which were to die for. I could make a whole meal out of those. They're the perfect texture with just the right amount of salt-and the side of melted dipping cheese is good enough to drink-yumm-o! We also split the grouper fish and chips. The presentation, in a bright blue wicker basket, is so cute. The portions were generous and the fish batter was tasty. Mom loved the cole slaw! The servers are busy--but they are very kind and efficient. The restaurant is super clean and so are the nearby bathrooms. Parking at this beautiful complex is free and the valet is only $1.00. I can't wait to go back-and sip more sunny views-as well as the drinks I spied on the menu. Cheers to more sunny blue days! read more
