    Grilled octopus

Came here on a Friday at 5:15 with a party of 4 and we ended up waiting for 15 mins for a table. The host was a young man who didnt communicate clearly with our party and we had to ask him a few times to put our name down... [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is medium size and has a small bar area. They do not take reservations. Casual with mostly old folks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered some margaritas on the rocks and it was large and strong for $13. I'm obsessed with the bread basket - they were very generous with that. I highly recommend the grilled octopus appetizer. I got the Seabass, which is their specialty, and it was delicious. The portions were huge. My fiancé got the grouper à la cart with a side of scallops and that was delicious as well. It came with a salad that was actually a full entrée....... There was a lot of food.

Lucky Us to experience the Lucky Pelican Bistro. Four out of Seven in our group enjoyed the ZUCCHINI BOAT!

I am amazed at the high level of service that Lucky Pelican Bistro provides. Everyone in this restaurant offers Service with a Smile! Most importantly, I found the most delicious "Zucchini Boat" which adheres to all of my dietary restrictions and includes the best Lobster Tail that I have had during my 15 years living in Sarasota! I have already returned twice and I can't wait to go back for this delicious culinary experience! I am posting a photo, but you may want to try it! I give this healthy dish 10 Stars!

Just a little kitschy decor - I'll take food photos next time

The food was delicious and perfectly cooked, but what stood out more than anything was the customer service. The wait was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave us wonderful recommendations.

One of our favorites. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Local feel with fresh offerings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our fav is mussels Rockefeller. The broth is amazing and we always ask for linguine added to broth. Perfection! Oysters yummy, peel and eat shrimp delicious. The cocktail sauce our last time wasn't as good as we are used to. Maybe just the way they made it that day. Haddock is so good. Always bring our out of towners here and it hasn't disappointed them either.

We arrived early upon opening and were seated right away. Parking is a dream compared to the downtown location. Our waitress was super sweet and accommodating. Another benefit to getting there early is the discounted apps. We enjoyed an order of deviled eggs and some seasoned buttery rolls. My advice is not to order the rolls; they're tasty, but honestly, it's just bread, and if you only want to opt for one or two apps, it just seems like a bit of a waste, but that's just me. I don't eat seafood; my family loves it, so I ordered the veggie risotto. Dannnnng, it was so good, and it was extremely filling and enough to feed like five people. I took most of it home and got like two meals out of it. We were too full to really enjoy the dessert, but we split a cobbler three ways, and that one bite was sinfully good.

There's a ton of seating, so even though it's a popular place, it doesn't feel cramped. The live music added to the atmosphere, and our service was excellent from start to finish. As for the food, it was just okay. Nothing was bad, but it didn't quite live up to how much we loved the ambiance. That said, the overall experience was still enjoyable thanks to the fun atmosphere, great service, and live music. I'd definitely come back to relax, grab a drink, and soak in the vibe.

There were at least three hostesses/waiters/tresses greeting us at the door. It's more of an adult environment. Very nice! We ordered an app, the cornbread, their claim to fame. And it certainly was fantastic!!! I had the cowboy salad. It was all chopped up just how I like my salads. Perfect amount of ingredients, they didn't skimp! The only issue, and I could have asked for more, was they should bring a small side of dressing when they bring the salads out. Regardless the salad was yummy! The prices were steep but not any more than you would expect to pay in an upscale restaurant, $23. And, what I appreciated was they DO NOT INCLUDE AN AUTO GRATUITY! YAY!!! Overall the experience was outstanding; environment was beautiful, service was good, food was delicious. We will be back, many times I'm sure!

He had great suggestions and provided us excellent service. We tried the cornbread, which is a must have. Large enough for two, maybe three. I had the Danish ribs which were delicious and fell off the bone. Others ordered the prime rib sandwich, Trout, and Salmon. I had the cole slaw and mash potatoes as my sides. All of the food was delicious. They have a full bar and they also allow you to bring your own wine. No corkage fees. Great idea. I would say there were quite a few tables ordering drinks and drinking their own wine. The deserts are sinfully delicious, and huge. After a rich dinner, we shared two of them. The banana cream pie and key lime pie were equally good.
