Superior noted on the invoice that the car was dead on arrival. Said they tested the battery and that they were able to start the vehicle with starting fluid after multiple attempts. Well, to me that means there were something wrong with the car battery. They got the car running and charged me $155. They kept the car all day, over seven hours to do the safety maintenance inspection that I didn't ask for. They didn't ask me either. Two days later, the car would not start again. I called superior to let them know and they said that the battery was OK when it was there. The battery was dead in their own words when they checked it. I don't understand why they didn't replace the battery. I was unable to go to work on my new job on Wednesday, I would think that an auto service center would recognize when a battery needs replaced.. I am homeless and sleeping in my car. I have no money to get it towed. Fortunately, somebody helped me in the Walmart parking lot to get the car running so I can drive it to a Walmart service center. If that kind person did not help me, I would've been stuck there. I would not have been able to go to work. I wouldn't had a place to sleep. Anyway, I think they should've changed the battery on Monday when the car was in their shop. I think they should've recognized that since it was dead on Sunday and Monday and it was a really old battery, they should have replaced it. Since they didn't, it was a big hassle for me not going back to Superior auto service again. It said on the invoice that they recommended that I monitor it. That is ridiculous. I'm supposed to just drive the car around and hope that it starts when I get back in. I would have to have an expense of it being towed. Shouldn't they fix the car so you don't get stranded somewhere ? Walmart charged me $150 for the battery and instillation. Superior charged me $155 and didn't fix the car. They just gave me a list of $2000 worth of stuff that needed to be Repaired.

And to boot, they do work that no one else would touch. For me, that included a complete rebuild of my 2006 transmission in 2024 in their shop. Yes it was costly but it was not a remanufactured tranny and extended the life of my car. If the engine goes, I'll likely return for an engine rebuild rather than a remanufactured engine. On another day, some basic work that should be simple and easy they seem capable of completely missing the mark. Couple this with their reliance on Metro Motor.com and their BG maintenance recommendations and you have what feels like a very hard sell to get your money. The BG recommendations are like a laundry list of what you MIGHT do to your auto if you had unlimited funds and just wanted to spend freely. There seems to be no rnyme or reason to the recommendations either in milage or elapased time. Don't get me wrong. I don't mind paying premiusm prices (which Ken's is) for premium work. That's the issue. I feel like it's sometimes worth it and other times not. I've reached the consclusion that they will get my more difficult jobs but routine maintenance will be handled elsewhere. I wonder if over time they have changed ownership or have new sales incentives in place. It's a shame. I really want them to be like The Car Talk guys from Boston and only do what's right.

Unlike other times I have used AAA for towing requests, the business who would be assigned to come to tow me would call, their tower would identify who he was, where he was coming from, and how long it would be before he arrived. The 40 West guy never called to let me know he was on his way, where he was coming from, or how soon it would be before he would arrive. All he brought was attitude. I had borrowed a car from a family member and was at the location within 10 minutes (if not less) after calling AAA ... AAA told me the tow truck would be at the location within 30 minutes -- maybe that is their standard estimated time they use when a tow is requested or maybe the girl I spoke to did not know the correct protocol? I don't know. When I arrived at the facility that had my car, the tow truck was already there. I went inside to pay my bill and get my car key. I was warned by the employee at the location that the 40 West driver appeared to be upset because I was not there when he arrived. I walked out to his truck and apologized for him having to wait and his reply was a smug "whatever" with a shrug of his shoulders. His attitude only went downhill after that. He wanted to know what was wrong with my car and if payment was going to be by cash. I explained my car problem (not that he needed to know) and why I needed it re-towed and I would pay with a credit card. He shrugged again and he added "I was told you were paying with cash." I felt the need to ask if paying with a credit card was going to be an issue. He replied, "No" and what cards he would accept, but his attitude spoke louder than words. He proceeded to move his truck (roll back) and positioned it behind my car. As he backed my car onto the roll back and worked to secure it, another person from the facility where I had my car, came out to quickly speak to me. While I was busy talking with him, the 40 West driver got into the truck and simply left without me. I had no idea where he had gone or which route he took. I quickly got into my borrowed car and drove quickly to the garage where my car was to go, hoping he would be there. Upon arrival, he was there along with his attitude. Other unfortunate issues took place once at the garage (additional charges for mileage that had to be explained and settled), but his attitude and rudeness did not wane toward me or toward the receptionist at the garage. To say he was very unprofessional is an understatement. I have never used 40 West in the past (they were not my choice, but assigned through AAA), and after this experience, it is highly unlikely that I would recommend them. I was already upset about my car having an issue where it had to be re-towed, but to have this guy show up with a MAJOR attitude that continued through the entire time I had to deal with him, did not set well with me, hence the need to post this review.

Today I had to stand around for a while before someone could help me. But once they did, they were fast and efficient. The first time, they replaced one of my tires and disposed of the old one. It was done quickly and at a fair price. This time, I came in because my tire pressure light was on. They checked everything, topped off the air, and had me back in my car in less than 10 minutes--at no charge. Solid, trustworthy spot. I'll definitely keep coming back when I need tire help.

When I went to get it back, they said they threw the old parts away. I asked them to get it out of the trash. The man walked back and said it was already thrown in the dumpster. I asked him to get it out of the dumpster, and he said the trash company just picked it up. Within the week, I had the same problem with my Land Rover. I went to another mechanic, and he showed me that the parts were not replaced. I paid over $1600 to Premier Autowerks for nothing. I wouldn't take any vehicle there. That place is a joke.

I own a 1975 Corvette and took it to this shop because neither of my doors would open with the key. They assured me the issue was fixed and addressed additional problems causing my battery to drain. After spending several thousand dollars, I was told everything was resolved and given a warranty on the door repairs. Unfortunately, the problem persisted. When I returned, I was shocked to hear there was no warranty. I later had a trusted friend run a diagnostic and found out the root issue was a bad starter and flex plate--issues they failed to diagnose despite charging me $300 for their inspection. In total, I paid $4,500. My doors still don't work properly, and my car had to be towed again. To make matters worse, when I picked up my car, the driver's side door was damaged, and my new custom oxblood carpet and floor mats were ruined by water damage. This happened despite providing them with a custom car cover. I also felt pressured to pay after receiving two different price quotes for the same work, which seemed very shady. I had to get a tow which the last picture is. This experience has been frustrating and disheartening. If you have a car that needs repairs, I strongly recommend taking it to someone you know and trust. Quality service matters, and this has shown me how things can go wrong when money takes precedence over professionalism. PS. Drove the car home and then noticed that the passenger side side view mirror was melted. Literally the paint and plastic was melted.....!!!! So I called them and drove all the way back to the shop and Eric was already gone for the day, but his worker said that they looked at a picture from the front of the car and said they could see a shadow showing that the sideview mirror looked "wavey" Bull crap!!! He said they took the mirror and the door off the front passenger side to do work on the rear passenger side, and that they only put the sideview mirror in the car and that it couldn't have gotten damaged.... I said there is NO WAY that my sideview mirror could get MELTED on the top of it while it was on my car. The plastic and paint are literally melted!!! Car is in great condition except the door that had to be repaired. Now they are saying that the MELTED sideview mirror must have already been like that. No pictures of the sideview mirror damage prior to doing the work. They melted the sideview mirror at the shop. Don't know how or who, but it wasn't melted when I dropped it off....... Every place I have ever been too takes detailed pictures of a car to make sure that this exact thing doesn't happen!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP. BEWARE. Dishonest. Go somewhere else.....
