I grew up in Richmond/Rosenberg and have been coming here for my vet needs with all my animals over the years. The staff is always very friendly and I do feel like my babies are in good hands. Dr. Williams and Moore have always been amazing and seem to genuinely care, are gentle and very knowledgeable. The staff gives helpful advice and talks through things to make sure you understand what's going on with your pet. There is sometimes a wait, but I understand how things can be at times with pets so I am patient with them. It's always fairly clean and they offer boarding and grooming as well. Also, they have extended their hours which is really helpful for pet parents who can't get out of work early enough or have a late emergency. Always recommend this place and I will always visit here first with any animal needs I'll need in the future. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about the Veterinary Clinic. This review is for the grooming services. TLDR: Do not let Patti groom your animal, REQUEST Lauren. I had taken my dog to get groomed here 3 times in the past. Each time he saw Lauren. She was very kind and made my dog feel at ease. He was never frightened after i picked him up from grooming with Lauren. Recently i scheduled an appointment for grooming and was assured he would be groomed by Lauren (as usual). When he is returned to me several of his nails are cut completely in half and he is bleeding. He is also visibly terrified and traumatized from what i can imagine was a very painful experience for him. I knew this was not the work of his normal groomer and return inside to ask who did this to my pet. I am told Patti groomed him after i was assured Lauren would be handling my dog for the appointment. My confidence is shaken and i don't know if i will be returning my animal to be groomed at Rose Rich Vet. If i can't trust that they will place him with my preferred groomer then there is no point. read more

Thank you so much to Tina, Dr. Williams and her assistant (I'm so sorry but forgot her name! ) for helping Honey and me yesterday! They all went over and above for us, and here's our story: Honey came into rescue as a senior with health issues from a high-kill shelter in SoCal. I hospice-foster for the rescue, and began caring for Honey (6 lb. chihuahua girl) in 2018. In addition to her other ongoing issues, she developed a new symptom that I knew needed to be addressed right away, and of course it happened on a Saturday AND I had just arrived in Texas (I travel in my motorhome with my little dogs). I made an online appointment with a vet open on Saturday, only to find out upon arrival that they were actually closed! I had accidentally made the appointment on Monday, apparently. I googled and found Rose-Rich, called, and Tina answered the phone. They were only open for another half hour, doctors all with patients, and no appointments open...but she asked me to hold on while she tried to ask a doctor if they'd stay and see us. I knew it was doubtful, but she succeeded! Dr. Williams agreed to stay and help! I was just around the corner and they were waiting for us. Ultimately, Honey gained her wings in my arms with the gentle and compassionate assistance of Dr. Williams and her wonderful assistant. They helped to make a very emotional time as easy as humanly possible, and I'm grateful I was able to find them in Honey's time of need. We foster kittens and were recommended to this vet after our last vet killed our cat by giving her medicine that caused a heart attack. EVERY doctor here, EVERY vet tech here, EVERY receptionist is loving, sweet, compassionate, and caring. With foster kittens, we are in at least twice a week for URIs/infections/illnesses/etc. The receptionists always find us appointments, the nurses escort us in rooms immediately, and they all play with and love on our animals until the doctors can see us. I can understand why they are rated low stars on Google. I came from a different state and due to my oldest Pupp's health issues, I chose them being closest to my new home. BIG MISTAKE!!! I've reached out to them several times after emailing them all my records from my previous Veterinary and they didn't reply to me so I called and asked them if they got the emails etc.The rep said yes and I spoke to them about my oldest pupy having Heart issues and needing Medication etc. and also my other two puppies. The rep said that I will be notified when shots are due and anything else after they read the emails etc. Well, needless to say, I have not heard a word from them, nada and so I called them to ask and they said "Oh, it appears that no one updated their records" and I was shocked especially with (again) my eldest puppy having Heart issues. So I decided to stay with them and to find out they didn't even have my pupp's medication so I had to outsource it from a 3rd party. I was upset but trying to keep calm thinking they could have said this earlier and now that I only have one or two pills left for my puppy, I felt helpless. Still to date, I have not heard from them for any of my dogs and now that the oldest pups medication is due again, and they have not contacted me, SHAME ON THEM so I normally don't write reviews but I need to in this case. not even sure how they got 3 and change stars. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My first & last time I will ever walk into this place. Took my 1 year old French bull dog in because she was acting not her self. Dr Drozd did a terrible job at examining her. Felt around her body & neck & said my dog was restraining her from moving her neck. She told me that there's a disease common in French bulldogs in their neck. She requested a blood test to rule out any thing of that nature. Of course the blood test came back good bec that wasn't the issue. I left with no answers, my dog didn't receive anything. I go to another vet & turns out she has double ear infection & they quickly aided her. I tried to speak to the Dr Drozd & she told me " there's nothing I can do now, what do you want from me" i mentioned to her that she didn't look in my dogs ears & she told me she did. There's no way she did, had she done that my dog would've received antibiotics or something! Her ears were so bad the other vet instantly put medicine in both of her ears. I even showed the Dr Drozd a video of my dog walking unstable. I have never experienced such horrible service. Tried to call a couple times to speak to a manager & never receive a call back. This place was very quick to upsale me in labs that were not necessary. read more

Dr. Janecek recently graduated from Texas A&M with all the new studies and top of the line veterinary schooling care. Her knowledge of veterinary medicine is outstanding. Your not going to get a worn out slacking veterinarian with this one. She continues to impress and exceed with her veterinarian care at the clinic. I not only travel an hour to come for the great hospitality, service, and excellent care but also because they are amazingly reasonably priced. I can also go on and on about the great GROOMING facility and boarding they have there. Patti is amazing at grooming and fantastic with my dogs. And yes they are strict on vaccines before dropping off for grooming or boarding...but why wouldn't they? I would rather drop my dogs off healthy and pick them up healthy rather pick them up sick from some other dog who wasn't vaccinated properly. Bottom line is this veterinary clinic is the best and they have a whole TEAM working together for your fur babies (management, receptionists, technicians, kennel staff). I can't thank them enough for taking care of my babies and knowing they do what they do because they love it. You can tell that by meeting each one of these veterinarians. Rose-Rich veterinary clinic is the only place I trust to care for my babies. I was referred by a friend over 10 years ago and since then I have referred multiple friends who take their furry loved ones there because they know their pets will receive the best care possible. Because I have 2 cats and 2 dogs, I visit them often for annual check ups, etc. The staff is excellent and they clearly show a love for all the furry patients that come in. I never had a preference for a particular veterinarian because I love them all. Dr. Robinson, Dr. Ginestra, Dr. Sackman and Dr. Moore have all taken tremendous care of my babies and will always take the time to listen to any of my concerns and answer all of my questions. I recommend them to everybody and they never disappoint! read more

I have three large dogs and have been taking them to Rose Rich for about three years. Recently one of my dogs developed a lump on her leg and I took her in on a Saturday morning to have a vet take a look at it. The vet diagnosed her with cancer and gave me a few options, one which included surgical removal of the tumor for about $1,300 followed by radiation and/or chemotherapy which could cost upwards of $3,000 more. Being that my dog is 11 years old I did not want to put her through all of that and the doctor agreed. She sold me some pain meds to keep her comfortable in case she appears to be in pain. A couple of months pass and my dog is still doing rather well other than being constipated which from the location of the tumor I thought that the tumor could be causing the constipation. I took off of work early and arrived at the vet clinic at 4:30 without an appointment to be advised by the girl behind the counter that all of the vets are booked for the day, but the emergency vet in Sugar Land is open and takes emergency cases. I advised her that I have been a customer for quite some time and asked if they may be able to squeeze me in. She informed me that she may be able to but I would have to pay an "emergency fee" of $30 extra and it may be more since it is so late and they were already booked. I called the vet that I used to see in Needville (quit going there because of the long drive) and he said that they were open until 6:00 to come on down. After making the drive down to Needville I was advised by the doc that my dog just needed a little stool softener and that he could remove the tumor on her leg for about $300. During my three years of using Rose Rich Vet Clinic I found most of the vets and vet techs to be quite friendly and helpful, however I always had bad experiences with the desk staff. The bad experiences ranged from bad attitudes/ rudeness to them forgetting to charge me $10 on a $300 bill and calling me to ask if they could add that to my credit card. BUYER BEWARE: SOME OF THE VETS HERE SEEM INCOMPETENT We have been taking our dogs to Rose-Rich since for 8 years. The new building is nice, and the staff is friendly enough, although frequently late for appointments. However, our Eskie died within 3 hrs of seeing Dr. Ranier (who had told me she would be fine). I don't know for sure, but I believe he may have harmed her trachea during the examination because she never breathed right after leaving. Granted, she was old and had heart problems, so it could have been heart failure, but the breathing difficulty she had only started at the vet that day. Now we are looking into adopting a new dog, and the rescue organizations want our records. So I am reading them and I JUST NOW find out that our other dog, a Frenchie, who had to be put to sleep in 2012 (liver disease) had tested heartworm positive in July 2011 and Dr. Ginestra NEVER told us, nor did any other doctor on subsequent visits! There is some nonsense in our records that I was too busy to stay for test and slammed a door...ridiculous! Never happened. Says she "left a message" on our machine. Never happened. And shouldn't they have made sure they TALKED to a human being about heartworms and not just depended on an answering machine?! I am infuriated that no one at this place ever told us that our dog had heartworms. IF YOU CHOOSE TO RISK YOUR PET'S CARE AT THIS PLACE, YOU BETTER KEEP CLOSE WATCH ON THE PAPERWORK...and the info they have may not be on the receipts they give you. By the way...they sell a breath spray for dogs that contains Xylitol which is known to be TOXIC to dogs. When I mentioned that to Dr. Martin she said, "Oh...there's not enough in there to hurt them." WHAT?! Our newest dog weighs 11 lbs. And they sell Hill's Science Diet dog food which is a low-rating dog food. I started taking my cats to Rose-Rich about 18 years ago. I always felt that the treatment they received was excellent. Eight years ago I brought my new 8 week old pug puppy in to be checked out. He was almost 4 months and he got Parvo, to this day I firmly believe they saved Sammy's life. Sammy is now 8 Years old and I would never consider taking him any place else. I've used the services of just about every veterinarian in the office and I always feel like the service and care they give him is excellent. They are not the cheapest, they are not the most expensive but I know that my pug is in excellent hands. Love the staff too! read more

We found this veterinary practice after we had already been going to someone else farther away and pricier. We just moved to this area and were happy to find an affordable vet practice near us. We used to rescue cats where we lived previously (Hawaii), and just moved all 10 cats and our 3 dogs with us. Its important to us that we have a quality vet practice but affordable at the same time because of the many animals that we have. It gets very costly. The only complaint i have is that some of the front desk staff aren't that friendly nor do they seem too interested in you when you walk in. That is a major turn off considering they are who you see and deal with first when you arrive at the practice. read more

After today's visit and being OVER CHARGED left feeling less than satisfied with the diagnosis.Let's start from the beginning came in to have a growth looked at on my dogs head and I knew there would be a biopsy charge for that and that's fine the tech told me the charge would be $44 for that waited for the dr. to come in she looked at him checked his ears (???) and then poked the growth got a sample and was out. waited a few mins came back told me it had tumor cells and to have it sent off to path would be $x.xx fine. Asked how much it would be to have it removed and they brought me back an estament I told them I would have to think about it cause the amount was quite large and figure out when I could take off work and what not. When it came to bill time well my bill was double then what I was told it was going to be. I paid and left not feeling confident in what just took place. So I've never worked with this clinic or ever been there before but apparently there was a miscommunication issue with one of the techs/receptionist. They needed info on a mutual client today and she called our main location RAH which she needed our westview location instead. They gave her my location Grand Mission instead of Westview unfortunately. It happens at times with a three to four hour wait being so busy there. I would think not such a big deal but she made it a hudge deal instead. Since I don't work at the other location I can't send any info without asking the vet there I told her, and I could give her the number to their location but she just got more frustrated with me. I told her she would need to call the other location to get the info she needs and then she just repeated the question on if I could send it even though she called the wrong clinic. I guess she doesn't understand the doctors client/ privilege confidentiality rules and standards. Then she just blurted out "Jesus Christ" really loud over the phone after I again told her she needed to call the other location to get the info she needed. Iwas just shocked on how blunt she was as I held my tongue being a catholic wanting to be blunt with her back, using the lords name like that. Smh. For All my friends living near / around, Richmond/Rosenberg/Sugarland area. Monday night I had to take my sweet Shelby to the Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists. They charged 750.00 just to walk in the door. And refused to let me see her until I had paid in full. Then they told me, that to keep her over night they would charge an additional 990.00. I elected to not keep her there and asked for antibiotics, pain meds, and to clean and dress her wounds, which they charged me another 130.00 dollars. The vet had no compassion, and did not discuss options. I found out later that the Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists is Corporate owned and is all about the money. They really don't care about your fur baby, they just want the $$$. They have terrible reviews on the internet with lots of heart breaking stories of owners losing their beloved animals because of this place. If you find yourself needing an emergency vet, drive past Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists it is not the place you want to go to. On a good note. After taking Shelby home and watching her suffer in agonizing pain, I had come to the realization that I was going to have to put her down. I took her to Rose-Rich vets Wednesday morning ready to say my goodbyes. But then a very kind and very capable veterinarian (Dr. Sackman) walked in the exam room, gave me a big hug and said, this is fixable we can save her. When I explained how much money I had already been charged she said, let me work up an estimate and if we need to, we can work out payments. For three days in ICU all medications and care the total cost was 538.95. AND my Shelby is on the mend and will live a long full life. Since I have so many friends that are fur baby lovers, I thought I would share my story with you. If you decide to take your pets to Rose-Rich Vets please tell them Shelby sent you.
