We eventually decided that I needed a dental implant and extraction due to the quality of the tooth. Dr. Weinstock and his dental assistant Nancy were incredible at addressing my concerns gently and straightforwardly. I was in their office at least 6 times throughout the course of my care, and each time they remembered to ask about my family, check in on my concerns, and assure me that I was doing well. My implant looks amazing (perfectly matches my other teeth) and the process never surpassed a 2 on the pain scale. If you are someone who deals with anxiety about dental care, I would strongly recommend choosing Dr. Weinstock and Nancy to be your care team.

First, she is the best listener. You might have no idea until you've been through it how many clinical professionals of all stripes and certifications don't know how to listen, especially if you have a rare condition. Jamie listened with patience and curiosity, took all my comments and concerns to heart, and integrated everything into individualized strategies for cleaning and home care. She is also research-literate and makes recommendations based on specific data from studies on Waterpik pressure levels for example. Jamie's skill is also impeccable, I left with the smoothest naturally white teeth of my life just from polishing and the ultrasonic scaler. During the whole time she adjusted water temperature and pressure according to my sensitivity level, applied topical anesthetic to more sensitive areas and checked in constantly about pain and modified technique instantly when needed. For anyone anxious about the dentist, she tells you exactly what she is about to do and why, so you are never surprised or talked down to and are fully included in decision-making. The little things really are the big things. To the practice, please know how tremendously valuable your hygienist is! Also, the pricing is really not worse than competitors in the area and what you are getting is trust and assurance in being treated well. I was subsequently billed $600+ for the work that was done. To add insult to injury, within a year, two of the fillings that were done have since fallen out and needed to be replaced. Then an appointment last winter was cancelled the night before. It happens; they were apologetic and both appointments were ultimately rescheduled. But today after I arrived 12 minutes late for my most recent appointment, I was told I'd have to reschedule because I was outside the 10-minute grace period. I hope anyone but the receptionist would have made an exception, but that's the face of the business and that's who I had to deal with. Unfortunately she was neither sympathetic nor polite. If you expect grace from your customers in the face of unexpected cancellations, then you should be willing to give actual grace in return. I'll be looking for another dentist.

TWO weeks later, on the eve of my 2nd deep cleaning session (and less than 15 hours before my appointment)- I received an appointment confirmation call. At the end of the call the receptionist CASUALLY mentions something about my insurance not being in network anymore and how I would now need to pay $700+ out of pocket. Girl, how are you going to call someone and drop that bomb on them 5 days before christmas? Needless to say, I cancelled the appointment and emailed them to get a more detailed explanation. Except I never got one. Instead, I received the least professional response I've ever gotten (see attached). I do not blame fresh smiles for my insurance *seemingly nowhere within a 2 week time frame deciding their office was OON* however, i DO blame them for piss poor communication. So now i sit, dentistless with half my mouth cleaned.
