Maybe an off day and nice people but the chili and stuffed pepper soup was very salty and had some spice that was almost bitter and tasted similar in both .. not sure if it was the salt but expected it to be more like home cooking and it was just to salty . Sandwiches, salads and soups. Absolutely awesome food and service out of this little joint. Owner is friendly, helpful, and understands his products (Boar's Head, anyone?) and clientele. Cook is extremely skilled and helpful too. Rose's isn't quite everything that you ever wanted for lunch, but it also doesn't try to be the quintessential burger/sub/pizza/salad/wing joint either. We stopped in yesterday after a quick google search said this is the best restaurant around for fresh soup. I recently had surgery and was looking for soup beyond the usual chicken noodle; and boy did I find it! The stuffed pepper soup was out of this world! I've never had anything like it before and I don't think you could outside of Roses, it really was incredible! They are also serving up the best French onion soup I've ever had. Chicken tortellini soup was also amazing. Meatballs are 12/10 - don't leave without a couple! And while we were there I couldn't pass up a slice of cheesecake and I'm glad I didn't because it did not disappoint, it was perfection. Don't sleep on this place! The food is top notch, homemade with love, and you can tell. I will definitely be frequenting this place more often! read more

I was in the area and because of the reviews here I stopped in for lunch. There was no line, got a chicken salad sandwich. It took kind of a long time to get that sandwich - no one was in line and they had plenty of people working. Maybe they were working on a big phone order? There isn't a lot of seating - some stools along the wall. Not really a place to sit down and eat. Sandwich was pretty good though. A little pricy. As a person who loves soup this place is the best!!! So many choices!! My personal fave is the creamy tomato without mac. It is perfect!!! Wish they did do grilled cheese, that would make it 6 stars!! But they are friendly, quick and can get busy during lunch!!!! Love that they offer fruit cups as well. Stopped by for our first time today. Soup was amazing!! Super hearty. I had the corn chowder and it lacked nothing! Full of corn and deliciousness. My dad got beef barley and said it was the best he's had. I definitely recommend and can't wait to go back to try all the soups. read more

I called this place on my cell today to order lunch as I was heading back that way and work in the area. I called 34 times and the phone rang busy every time. When I walked in I asked if the phone was off the hook. It was. So, I had to wait for my order. Simple order. Grilled Chicken Salad Wrap with Oil and Vinegar on the side ( the woman asked me if I wanted the dressing on the side. I said yes) a small pasta salad and a diet coke. I got back to work and noticed I didn't have the dressing. So, I went back to the establishment to get the dressing. The woman said "oh, I thought you wanted it on the wrap." No. Not what I told you or the person making it in the back. I then got back to work and opened up the wrapped and it was Chicken Salad made with mayo, not grilled chicken salad. I am allergic to mayo so I had to go back again and just asked for my money back. I won't ever go there again. If you don't even know your phone is off the hook for over 30 minutes and you cant take a simple order,and I have to go back several times, then you have lost my business. I wouldn't normally leave a review, especially to a place our company orders from a lot and has always enjoyed, but lately we've been getting food deliveries from, frankly, the worst possible delivery driver I could ever imagine. He is an older gentleman that was nothing but rude since the moment he came into our building. All he did was pace the lobby and talk down to me because I didn't know who ordered the food. We have 100 some odd people in the building, and all he had was the name Bob. I asked if it was all set so he could get on his way while I tried to find the appropriate person, but he rudely told me that no, he needed his money. To make matters worse, when I did figure out who it belonged to, Bob asked me to send him around to another door, which clearly only pissed this guy off more. I tried to tell him he just needed to go down one more door outside and Bob would be waiting for him, but he didn't seem to understand these directions, and quite frankly, I was done putting up with his shit, so I didn't care one way or another if he figured out where he needed to get. I've never met a ruder person in my life, and I just thought you should be aware of the kind of driver you have representing you as a company. We've never had any issues before, as I've said, we order quite a bit, but I NEVER want to deal with this man again. read more
