I found Boston Chowda and the best chowders and soups by chance! The sandwiches are all great, especially their specials, and with a soup are the best tasting at any price or deal. My goto Reuben is piled with meat and the best cheese and sauerkraut and dressing, and I had to try their special chicken sandwiches on next visits. Not sure if it's just the fact that I love seafood and that it's hard to mess up a lobster roll, but this place was one heck of a place to eat before flying out to the west coast again. It's never cheaper to buy lobster, so $17 wasn't bad. The roll wasn't too creamy, it was definitely all about the meat. It seems like half of the roll was one big piece of claw. I left full and happy regardless. The staff was very friendly and it seemed to be like a popular lunch place! Would eat here again for sure. Not the most glamorous photo because they gave it to me to go but oh well, we stayed and ate and it's was nice to have a choice of inside or outside. The flavor of the chowder was very good, lots of potatoes; but where were the clams? Seriously I think there was only a couple in there. The one that I did notice was soft and perfectly chewy. But that's the only one that was big enough to even notice. The bread was great, soft in the middle, crunchy on the crust. Except for the spillage over the sides that made it soggy. Boston Chowda has a great menu with lots to choose from the menu. I had the medium chowder which was thick and delicious, with a good balance of clams and finely diced potatoes. Very good. I also had the Lobster Roll and was pleased with the price for being inland and had a generous amount of lobster meat for this Midwesterner. I also observed that the restaurant was very clean. The whole time they were pleasant and never got flustered. And it was busy. The chowder here is really watered down. Very watery. Chowder is supposed to be creamy and somewhat thick. This is like watered down chowder in a can. Its bad. The chowder isn't like this at the Fanueil Hall location. They also messed up a to go order and they promised to make it right next time. It never happened.
