We booked a 20' truck for a 8 hour window 3 days in advance. We received multiple confirmation…read moreemail and texts that said we could pick the truck up using the mobile app anytime. At 9 pm the night before we received a text this vehicle was not available for early pickup. This negatively impacted our plans. Upon pick up of the vehicle right off the bat the brakes felt very very bad. About a mile down the road the brakes started to grind and the pedal pulsate. Once the truck was loaded it was almost impossible to stop without being in tow haul mode. Thank you Jesus we only had 10 miles to drive and the truck was only at 1/2 capacity. I told the very nice gentleman helping us If someone were to drive that over the grapevine they would be on a suicide mission. Don't put your life in danger find a more reputable U-Haul Location. The owner or GM of this location is running a sloppy undermanned store. 2 employees having to do it all. That's not fair to them or your customers. The showroom was about 90 degrees and the lot is full of debris and trash. The 2 employees providing customer service at pick up and drop off were very nice and helpful.

Had to use towels to wipe down the floor and especially the pedals so I'd be safe on the road. 26 ft truck has a very underpowered engine. I work in commercial truck repair and this was the saddest little rig to drive. Customer service upfront was good, but its once I had to call roadside assistance.....I dont recall a rep asking if I wanted it (if they did I wouldnt have turned down the 5 dollar charge) Anyways, so I call Roadside, woman looks up my info and says "ok cool, you are covered and therefore WILL NOT BE CHARGED FOR THE TOW. Get picked up, they're directed to drop the truck off at a place who does ZERO REPAIRS to anything. And that morning I realized there actually was nothing wrong with the engine so I called a buddy back at my work and he was 100% confident I was right and we went on our way. Cut to the conclusion, I return the vehicle and Branch Manager Alex tells me that my tow bill will be sent out at a later date where my card will be charged. I explained what his companies employee told me (keep in mind I (NEVER) authorized or agreed to pay for a tow....that my tow was covered..so he ignores that fact and says let's wait n see. So yup, here's the $655 charge (typical cost for heavy duty local tows) and I call Alex who recalled our convo and says "theres nothing I can do about it....you'll have to just dispute the charge with your creditor"....so basically just a useless manager with no actual authority? Or he lied and just doesnt give a damn. So let's hope Discover gets their hands on the phone recording where an Enterprise Rep tells me its FREE and gets this bs charge off my statement. Because then the Cherry location is stuck flipping the bill for dropping the truck in a dead end alley filled with junkies at 3am. Thanks for nothing folks, specially you Alex

Stephen (i hope i spelled it right) was super helpful and kind throughout the whole process. They had a variety of cars which was great because the listing on Yelp is a little misleading by saying (truck rental). I got a Chevy Malibu for the weekend and it worked fantastic. This office in Long Beach was a breath of fresh air!
