I had a family heirloom given to me years back: my great-grandfather's pocket watch. Given the fact that it had been carefully packed away for so long, it had not been wound or handled in many years when I received it. To my dismay, the glass front had separated from the body of the watch, and the knob that wound the watch would not even turn. I wanted to polish it and display it in my living room... but I wanted it WORKING. So I took the watch to Roseville Clock Shop. There are many places in town that claim that they are a "watch repair center", but I didn't feel comfortable having them work on something so precious to me. I didn't need a jewelry store, I needed a clock shop! RCS were very helpful, and seemed to be interested in simply seeing an antique watch come in for repair, which was surprising. They said the knew what was wrong, and they could fix it for under $100. It was such a relief to know that opening it up and replacing/repairing parts wasn't going to be REALLY expensive! And in the end, it was just over $50 to fix my watch. They replaced a few things inside, and replaced the glass covering the watch-face. And it works beautifully! This may not be the place to just have batteries replaced, but if you have a watch or clock that needs an expert, I would go here. They love what they do and it shows in their work! read more

When my family moved back to the east side of the metro area, all the usual haunts were still a mystery. So I pulled up ol' Yelp to find a new clock shop to replace the one we used to go to. We came by on a Saturday morning to drop off a grandmother clock -- not even 20 years old -- to get cleaned. Or so we thought. It wasn't working at all. We dropped it off to get a checkup and they said they would call. A few days later, they did call but, to our surprise, it needed to be completely cleaned and practically rebuilt -- at nearly $300, it cost almost as much as the clock itself. While they were very courteous and knowledgeable (at least the technician was), that seemed like too much to swallow. Then again, how many clock shops are there in the world anymore? A dilemma. So I would recommend heading here with some caution. While I cannot rate their service, you'll definitely find a huge selection of new and used clocks for all budgets. The prices were very reasonable considering the selection. And they all work. Check it out for sure. read more

I took in a Cuckoo Clock, in a box, in pieces, not functioning, and not knowing if it was even worth the $25 I had originally spent on it. To my very pleasant surprise, it turns out that it was a 100+ year old Black Forest clock, all original, and in excellent condition (even in pieces) and could be put back together and in working order with a little work. They did a wonderful job and were very careful to keep the clock original. When the clock was completed, I was shown the clock working on the wall, given a demonstration on how to operate the clock, and given a print out of instructions to take home. I was invoiced for the price I was quoted and the clock was returned to me in the time-frame they quoted. The clock now tick-tocks the days away in my office. My wife and I purchased a couckoo clock in Germany about 8 years back. After my grandchildren decided it needed winding, the clock had stopped working. I took it to the Roseville Clock shop, and it was repaired Quickly and at a reasonable price. I was so impressed with thier work, that I took my Grandfather clock in to be fixed. They rebuilt most of the clock. The clock isn't very expensive, but it holds a sentimental place in my heart. After about 8 months the clock needed a small repair to the pendulum.
