    Fall time tree!

This is one of the amazing museum you can find in the city for the kids! Free of cost, they offer information about our Roseville utilities and kids have hands on practice with every utility exhibit. I am one of the volunteers for more than a year now and I guarantee, they bring the best every year. They offer school programs pertaining to the utilities and the children love them! If you haven't visited or new to the city, it's a must go venture for kids and adults!!

Shoutout to Yelper, Matthew K, for a review that made us want to check this spot out! The Center is located next to the Martha Riley Library. It's fairly small with a smattering of things to see in one open, bright, colorful space. It was clean & hand sanitizer wall dispensers are available (always a plus with lots of kiddos). There's an area of eco-friendly merchandise to browse. You learn a lot about water, electric, & waste services in our area with hands-on activities & factoid information to read. Some of the activities include a garbage truck to climb into, turning a crank to power items, rolling balls to follow pathways of how water flows, puzzle pieces to match to find garden solutions, a cave to crawl through that's built with trash, & a trash/recycle-hazardous-compost sorting game. A touchscreen about microbes wasn't working, but still provided info. Personable staff members proactively engaged visitors to share information & point things out. I appreciate that it's local, relevant, & very informative. There were a lot of interesting facts for us adults to learn! Older kids who can read & understand the info will benefit the most. However, it seems like a lot of parents bring their littles to just run around & do things willy-nilly too. Some activities are one at a time, so patience & turn-taking are especially good skills to have if it's a busy time. I'm glad we finally came to check out what this place was all about. It's pretty much a small "one & done" spot to look around, but the library & Mahany Park in the same setting expands the experience for easy family fun.

It is a small area but tons of things to do and learn! Plus, they always open up early on Wednesdays to give way to patrons who went to library storytime. We love Utility Exploration Center.

Great place to take the kids on a rainy day. The staff was so kind! Entry is free and they also host science labs once a month you can reserve a spot for older kiddos. Will definitely be going back.

Went to Roseville Utility Exploration Center for the 16th Annual Sacramento Museum Day Sat 2/1/14. This is in the same parking lot at the Roseville Sports Center, Library, & Roseville Television Studio, go inside where the Library is it's next door. It's Always FREE so anyone can just stop by. You can learn about trash, electricity, & sewer. FREE EWaste & Battery Drop Off Here!! FREE Yelp Check-In for FREE Key-Chain - I forgot to do. It's fun for kids I think. I spent about 20 minutes in there or so. Hrs: Closed Sun & Mon Tues-Sat 10-5

Parking was $6 for the whole day, $19.99/ adult and $17.99 for kids. We especially loved the planetarium. We had just gotten back from another planetarium, but this one was so much nicer! My kids loved it. And the instructor was very knowledgeable. The kids loved downstairs and upstairs. You can tell they did a lot interactive displays for children and adults to learn. My kids loved touching all the buttons, interacting with the screens, jumping/hoping, making songs, etc. My favorite exhibit was the brain one- such fascinating stuff! I definitely recommend going especially if you have young kiddos. We had a Great time! Tip: There's a McDonalds on the other side of the freeway - go there before entering if you have kids.

Most of what is here has been here since 2021, and many of those things are also frequently out of order. The prices have increased, while perks, benefits, or experiences have decreased or been removed. When I first joined as a member, there were member hours everyday and now they are only 1 Saturday per month. Planetarium shows used to be included with admission and now it is an additional cost, even though the shows are also primarily the same since 2021. They initially advertised having lockers, but they were always out of order. I honestly prefer my Chuck E Cheese membership over this place. If you aren't from Sacramento, your children will have a good time. If you are a Sacramento parent looking for a fun membership where you can visit multiple times, choose something else.

Many trains on display with knowledgeable volunteers happy to explain how things work along with the history. This place is perfect for kids AND adults. Especially for enthusiasts but even if you're not into trains, learning a little about the history is worth it. Their exhibits are very well done and there is even a sleeper car that as you walk through it, actually MOVES and sounds like you're really on board the real deal. The only thing that wasn't as good as I was hoping for, was the excursion experience. I thought it would be a little longer and scenic, but turned out to be a short 15-20 minute ride on a straight track from the museum to the old Sacramento baths and back then it headed back for another 15-20 minute ride back the same way. Pretty cool if you're a kid, but not that exciting for a college age teen and myself. The "free" snacks provided were anticlimactic as well. Really, the best thing about the excursion experience was learning more history from the super friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. They were ALL great! Super thankful for sharing their passion and knowledge with us.

It's centrally located in town and very close to the Charles Schultz (Peanuts/Snoopy) museum which is pretty well known. Pluses: - fun for all ages, but especially the littles both indoors and outdoors. - pretend play areas indoors including a dentist office and a medical clinic and a fast diner. All 3 were a hit w/my kids. - lots of other hands on activities inside to include a treehouse where kids can load apples and send them up and down baskets, my kids love that when they were little. - very popular air launchers to shoot wind spinners. - a huge manual pinball machine that is super fun, my kids never tired of making the pinball launch over and over. - a miniature train set that goes around, it's on the 2nd floor. - plenty of outdoors activities and play areas. - a little stream for water play, little kids love that. - a real life former medical helicopter (a bit random, but still cool). - a climbing structure, and a few other play areas also. - so many ways to tire your kids out, guaranteed a good nap on the way home and they'll prob sleep a lot that night. Minuses: - The building indoors is really quite packed. The different features are each thoughtfully designed and very nice and colorful, but it can get crowded here. - Pretty expensive admission. We got a discount, but I think their prices have increased. All in all, a great little place and good for creative play for kids maybe up to like 5th-6th grade at most, but best for 9 or younger probably.
