As an icu nurse of many years, that was very upsetting. You need to explain what you are doing to your patients before doing it. Had a root canal with crown and had pain afterwards for three months and the dentist was very dismissive. I switched dentists. Overall, not a good experience at all.

Kim and Dr. Kickish were both so pleasant and patient. They answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable. All service prices are discussed up front so there are no surprises and they even have an in house plan that makes sense. They are NOT the pushy "gotta have this done" and "let's up sell"dentists I've been to. They seem to genuinely care and I felt right at home here! I returned for a second visit as I needed a tooth extracted. I'm not a great patient and even have fainted before, so I let them know my concerns. I ultimately paid the fee in full, but the way this was handled reflects a rigid, transactional approach to patient care rather than one grounded in professionalism or mutual respect. Patients understand policies--but we also expect reasonable communication, accountability, and a willingness to address concerns. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

They always have appointments available, so I never have to wait to be seen. The techs I've had (especially the one who took care of me on 6/19/2025) are incredibly kind and patient. Both she and Dr. Bui turned a horrible experience for me into a salvagable day. Thank you. The technology they use is very new, so expect that to relflect the price, especially if you have insurance like United Concordia who doesn't like to pay for anything other than a routine cleaning and the most basic type of filling (even then, they only pay half). If you get the new type of fillings, with the ceramic prints... they're pretty amazing. United Concordia will cover part of it, but not all, so be mindful of your insurance. Since it's my back molars, I needed the stronger filling, so it was worth it in the end for me. This office is awesome, but not all offices in the "Smile Generation" portal are as good, so be careful when choosing a doctor on the portal.

I searched the internet for an emergency dentist that I would pay out of pocket for to get help. The word EMERGENCY appeared at least 3 times on Bayberry's site. When I got there, things were explained to me much better and the communication was spot on. I knew I needed a root canal and was referred out. Although they didn't do anything to help with pain, I was in tears, they at least told me what the potential problem was. I just wish I didn't have to pay $91 for a referral.

What would you think when an unnecessary procedure is done and then not only are you charged for the procedure but you are expected to pay 400% more than what the dentist would accept in payment from the insurance company? Our insurance identified an unnecessary tooth build up procedure for a cap. The insurance had paid for the same procedure for several other caps. However, the facts the dentist presented in their original claim, a 2nd appeal and my patient appeal were review by two on staff dentists by my insurance company and denied as unnecessary. Taking advantage of seniors seems to be the name of the game in Florida. We don't support those that stick it to the customer. When you use this dentist, you sign a form that basically is their blank check. Very disappointing. We offered to reimburse the dentist in the same amount as the dentist had accepted from our insurance for the same procedure in the past just to close the matter and move on. The office manager said the payment had to be 400% more - $300+ more. Another interesting bookkeeping practice is that from our experience they overcharge for the patients portion of the visit and then you end up with large credit balances for the overpayments. Sometimes we had to remind the office of our overpayment and sometimes they told us of the overpayment. I would never recommend the dentist based on these practices.

When I told her his estimate was too high and asked for a 10% reduction, since I would be paying out of pocket a substantial amount) because my insurance did not cover the work that had to be done, I got a take it or leave it response from the receptionist after she conferred with the dentist. I will not deal with this unsympathetic, overcharging dentist and would not recommend him to anyone.
