I am writing this because I believe patients should be able to make informed decisions about their dental care and understand exactly what they will be charged before treatment is performed. At my visit to the dental office of Caitlin Wild, I clearly explained that I only wanted treatment that was covered by my dental insurance. Despite making that request, I was subsequently charged more than $230 for treatment that I did not want and did not believe I had authorized. That was extremely frustrating. When a patient specifically communicates that they want to limit treatment to what their insurance covers, the expectation is that the office will clearly explain what is and is not covered and obtain the patient's agreement before proceeding with additional treatment that could result in an out-of-pocket charge. I was also concerned by what I perceived as a strong emphasis on recommending crowns rather than fillings. In my experience, the recommendations seemed more aggressive than I expected, and I felt that I was not being given enough reassurance that less extensive treatment options were being adequately considered. I believe patients should feel that they are making their own healthcare decisions--not that they are being pressured into expensive procedures. Dental treatment can be costly, and patients deserve clear explanations of their options, their expected insurance coverage, and their potential out-of-pocket costs before treatment is performed. My purpose in sharing this experience is not to tell anyone what decision to make about this dental office. Rather, I want other patients to be aware of the importance of asking questions, confirming insurance coverage, getting treatment costs in writing, and making sure they explicitly understand and approve any procedure before it is performed. I had an appointment scheduled for 7:00 AM this morning. When I arrived, I was told I wasn't on the schedule. I have an email confirming the appointment, and I also called a week ago to make sure I was on the list. I'm currently waiting for the manager to call me back. I had a very good experience. Dr B informed me the xray showed a crack in one of my back teeth it was where an old filling was. I was not in any pain but the crack was not going to any smaller and was definitely going to cause pain in the near future. So she fixed it that day. Don't Waste Your Time! I made an appointment for 2:30 on a Friday. First time patient so I needed an exam and cleaning. They called me 3 days before the appointment to ask if I can reschedule to 12:30 on the same day to ensure I have enough time to do the exam and cleaning. I obliged, although this meant I had to leave work early, because I desperately need a cleaning and that's the main focus for my visit. I arrived on time, was requested to fill out forms because they neglected to email them to me, and once I completed them the dental hygienist took me back and got me ready for the exam and cleaning. She then said "I am unsure if we have time do both today, I'll try my best." For which I said the only reason I rescheduled todays appointment and took off work was to ensure I received both the exam AND the cleaning and if you can reassure me that I will be receiving both I will be forced to leave. She said she was unable to make such a promise therefore wasting my time and money to take off work. I will never go back and if you value your time and money you won't either. read more

Scam! Do NOT fall for the $79 new patient cleaning SCAM. I should have trusted when they texted me five minutes before I walked in, but I didn't see it that their dental hygienist was sick with food poisoning, which I feel look up the definition of that is vomiting and diarrhea. I said well, thank you I don't want to be near anybody that's sick. I made that abundantly clear. They proceeded to persuade me to do half of the appointment today and complete the x-rays and dentist exam and schedule the cleaning for next Tuesday. another red flag went off when the receptionist said, you will pay $60 for today and $19.99 for a cleaning which is unheard of. That doesn't make any sense I shared. And she said it could be more on what the dentist recommends for a cleaning . Immediate red flag and I said to her are they are going to try to upsell me? The look on her face made it clear I am NOT the first person to say this and it's clear that there have been many upset clients leave this office. My intuition told me to leave when 25 minutes passed by and they still haven't taken me back and I was just about to leave when they opened the door. I proceeded with caution to get my x-rays done and that technician was very nice. I will give her credit. Then all of a sudden, without warning, the hygienist had to leave 40 minutes prior, was in my face, speaking with aerosol coming out of her mouth onto my face with her mask down below my chin. I nearly jumped out of the chair opposite side of her, completely terrified. She tried to explain and it was hard to understand her, and the doctor were all sick because they went to dinner and all shared a salad and they're all sick at work today. I don't know about you, but that is not comforting because food poisoning and extreme vomiting and diarrhea and what if that's not what it was. I explained upfront I did not want to be near anyone that was sick , but this is part of their scam and even though she was sick, they weren't going to allow her to leave without creating some sort of preposterous diagnosis. She Then proceeded to put on a new pair of latex gloves, then go over to the trashcan, move with that glove with her hand and immediately put that hand in my mouth before I was able to even say a word. I was so fearful and disgusted. I started holding back tears. then she proceeded to say I have symptoms and an infection which is completely untrue and up north had an incredible dentist who I saw regularly now all the sudden I don't qualify for the healthy mouth cleaning for $19.99. They pulled me in with their marketing scam and she said she refuses to do that because she would lose her license. she wanted to proceed with a $670 extensive deep cleaning that would happen over two visits. Which is something I've never heard of in my life. The dentist came in and she is young enough. She looks to be about my nieces age and even though I have zero complaints, I am healthy as can be. She wanted to say that I need three crowns on previous fillings. I said absolutely not, and she was so offended that she compared me to would do this for my parents and I have done this for my own family as well. She proceeded with her example of the crown mind you I am a healthy 41-year-old woman with zero complaints in my mouth. I simply wanted a cleaning because I was due for one. I trusted right before I open that front door which said this place is not good. it appears the front secretary is nice, but it is a complete illegal marketing scam. I even thought to myself when I was trapped in the back how do they make money off of it only cost $79 for a cleaning and x-rays. That would be because you leave with a piece of paper that says you need to spend thousand dollars and spend the entire time over diagnosing you and scaring you. I said I didn't want to pay the $60 for the exam because I was traumatized because they forced a sick person into my face who also touched a garbage can and then my mouth the dentist came around the corner because she heard me and she laughed and said I just want to reassure you were sick because we went to dinner last night and shared a salad. It's just stomach pain. I don't know how clueless these people can think that anyone wants someone who is vomiting or has explosive diarrhea and you were already canceled and told they were extremely sick and you said I do not want to be anywhere near a sick person.... Come right in your face and I could see her perspiring on her forehead because she is incredibly ill. I do not wish this trauma upon anybody do not go there. All said and done they wanted $7,000 from me when all I wanted was a basic cleaning!! They are completely unethical and in the business of taking advantage of people. Find someone else! They destroyed my mouth with a temporary crown and didn't even have the decency to check on me, call me back, make me a priority or refund my money. Stay away from this place. The dentist is nice but she doesn't take responsibility and doesn't have certified assistants that can read the room or your pain. read more

my husband was told he needed a root canal and had a cavity on another tooth. He never had any discomfort or pain they told him cost would be 2800.00. I made a appointment with another dentist they took x rays and he did not need any work done not even a cavity. do not go there they a riping people off. Shame on them. read more

Charged me 200 to put some bond on my tooth that was loose until I could get to oral surgeon. That bond lasted less than an hour and then they sent me a bill for 51.00. Craziness. 250.00 for nothing. I got raped by this office. I would never go back there! read more

I had a dental emergency and needed to get work done right away. I called various other offices close to me who advertised they handled all emergencies, not true. Of all the offices I called they all wanted to schedule an appointment 2 weeks down the road obviously my idea of time to be seen for an emergency is a bit different. I called Summerfield and explained my situation they made time for me within a hour. The staff and the dental professionals were great, the facility was great, covid measures were in place. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere made for a pleasant experience and I and my family will be using this office in the near future. read more
