First time visiting Rosie's Bar & Grill. A small establishment with dark wood interior making it appear even smaller and rather dimly lit. There are only a handful of tables and only one person working the bar as well as providing waiter/server responsibilities. Needless to say, the service was a bit slow. We stopped here for lunch on a recommendation from a friend. When we walked in, there were not many in the restaurant but it was 1:30 on a Saturday. Kaleb was our server and he was amazing. Very personal and gave some good recommendations. We came in right before a huge storm and we were glad to be out of the rain. My wife and I ordered the Jammin Chicken Sandwich on his recommendation and it was fantastic. Great jam spread but not overpowering. Everything here made from scratch including the Chippers. Took my wife put to enjoy a dive on the last sunny day before a long period of rainy days were predicted . We found Rosie's online and made it our destination. What a wonderful find, a real surprise! As you walk in it seems a nice bar and grill, but when we opened the menu , what a surprise! Yes the expected burgers, but a really surprising number of unusual and unexpected offerings, including elevated salads, appetizers, snd build your own pasta, ( my wife saw the dessert tray snd was impressed) we both had the pick 2 specials soup snd a salad or half sandwich, we both had the French Onion Soup(really good, lots of onion and croutons, bury good broth) we both thought it was one of the best we have had locally in a while) i had the Italian Quesadilla ( very good, lots of meat, peppers and onions with a dipping sauce) snd my wife had a 1812 salad ( brandy soaked cranberries, almonds, feta, spring mix greens ) said it was wonderful, so give Rosies a try, but be aware, during tourist season parking may be a challenge, there is parking in the rear read more

Checked out Rosie's for dinner while visiting the area. Got seated immediately and had some really yummy food. We had the Walleye bites, kids burger, perch sandwich and bourbon steak! Loved it all! We have eaten here a couple of times it is a great local Mom and Pop Bar and Grill. The food is delicious and homemade, including daily soup. The sandwiches are fresh and packed full. Burgers start at $16. Cheese? Another $1. Comes with potato chips but if you want fries it's another $2. So far, pretty standard. Now, it gets fun. Lettuce? .75. In fact, tomatoes, onions, pickles, ketchup, mustard, etc. are .75 EACH!! So, another $7 bucks is sucked out of you for things that are complimentary everywhere else. Very disappointed in the food. My husband and I sat at the bar. The bartender was incredibly nice - the reason for here stars instead of two. My husband had the French onion soup and said it was very good. It did take a long time to get it as an appetizer, and the restaurant was not busy. I ordered Rosie's Chicken, and I didn't even finish half of it. It was not tender, and tasted like a frozen chicken breast you get in a bag. My husband got the perch dinner. They were very small fish tenders with more breading than fish. He said the breading was soggy. He didn't finish his fish, either. Based on the reviews, we expected a LOT better food. read more

The food selection was very good. Our server was very attentive and sociable. I had a Walleye dinner, and my wife had scallops. Both dishes were excellent. The downside to the whole experience was that this was the last night that the restaurant world be open. The owner sold the establishment. Don't let the name fool you! It's a lovely place with fabulous food - not at all your typical bar food plus a friendly staff! You'll be surprised at the offerings, from pasta, to seafood to steaks and more. Plus the wine list is reasonable and comprehensive. Once inside you are surrounded by deeply stained oak and a long bar. It seems like everyone is your friend even before you sit down. The mussels were garlicky and fresh. Portions are not hearty for price BUT quality prevailed which I will take over portion size any day. We left full and happy. Only negative was that our bill did not reflect the menu price and were told that prices went up. However, we did not see signs of this nor were told upfront. We were up north for a show and Rosie's is a short walk from our hotel. It had good reviews on Yelp, and the desk clerk, when asked, said "Rosie's is great." She also said mention we were staying at the hotel and we'd get 10% off. We got right in and sat at a high-top across from the bar, and across from the tv, which was not visible from the bar (we thought that was strange). We started off with drinks and the fried pickle fries. My husband had a beer - well, part of a beer because it was the end of the tap, so he had to choose another beer. I had a white choc/raspberry martini, which was yummy. I did not have a 2nd one since they were $11. The fries were good but I regretted them before my fried fish dinner. I was excited about fresh perch and walleye, and chose the combo basket with both. The fries were not fresh-cut (sad-face me). When I saw that their slaw is spicy, I subbed out a side salad. The salad was the best thing I ate that night - a wonderful mix of green lettuce. I was a bit disappointed with the fish, only because it didn't wow me. OK, it is off-season so I shouldn't expect it to be the best fish ever. Also, we mentioned the hotel, like we were advised to, and our server must have forgotten the discount. All in all, the food was pretty good and I would eat here again. Tip: they close at 10 at night during the off-season. We went back for a drink after our show ended and it was last call. read more

It's really tough to get five stars out of me, we are trying to think of how it could be better but this is my second visit and between Dave and the amazing Prime Rib there is zero reason to give anything less than 5 stars. Exceptionally clean, very well attended (Dave and Liz are ROCKSTARS) and the food is beyond fantastic. As we sit here and look at the dessert tray, and plan our next move it's tough. Very fancy without the prententiousness (so?) the Old Fashioned that Dave CRUSHED came in a rather fancy rocky glass versus a generic bar glass, nice touch team. The Ahi was prepared perfectly and the Prime Rib easily rivaled world class establishments, but the difference here is how well the restaurant (specifically the bar as that is where we were seated) was very well run and the service team was very friendly and welcoming. Coming from Oak Harbor was a wonderful change in attitude and work ethic. Will be back again for sure, as I said this has become my goto, very proud to bring my friends and family back to Rosie's to show you guys off!! Great value for the money and amazing presentation, feeling like the emperor has no cash value. Thank you to Dave and the team for making this seasonal guy feel welcome. Sometimes, you stumble upon a place by happenstance and you end up thoroughly impressed!! We dined at Rosie's in quaint Port Clinton this afternoon and I was extremely happy we found this gem. The decor is charming and inviting. This place has obviously embraced the heritage of the community and it reminded me of some of my favorite establishments in NYC. This is NOT a quick service chain restaurant and I say that as a compliment!! This is the type of place you go to with friends for lunch or dinner when you have at least an hour or two to enjoy great food, and extensive bar menu, attentive service, and even better company. My daughter really enjoyed her Yum-Yum Shrimp appetizer followed by the chicken fingers, while I had some of the BEST wings I've had in awhile followed by the Corned Beef Reuben. Our other guests loved the bread and olive oil starter followed by another order of chicken fingers and the French Dip. Decided to try this quaint bar and grill. Prices were a bit higher than we expected, but resort town combined with fresh quality ingredients likely warranted it. I ordered the Pick 2 Basket for $15 and got a half reuben and a side Rosie's strawberry and blueberry mixed salad with candied pecans. My spouse ordered the chicken spinach panini basket with kettle chips. Mine looked fantastic, my spouse's panini sandwiches were only about 3/8" thick and seemed a bit small for $18. Turned out the sandwiches were mostly cheese and spinach, there didn't seem to be any chicken in them. However upon close inspection we saw some very fine shards that were chicken. My meal was extremely good, my spouse's was pretty skimpy. Would have expected some chicken chunks or much larger shreds of chicken. But we would still recommend Rosie's. read more

We know going in that restaurants are short staffed since Covid... On July 5 we went for dinner at around 6:45 PM and it said to seat yourself so we did. The table was dirty but the bus boy came over and grudgingly cleaned off the table and he was not happy with his shift. He was not pleasant. The other waitresses ignored us for at least 20 minutes before we finally got up and left. It was hot , stuffy , and pricy! It also did not smell nice.We will not be back! read more
