Solid burger spot if you're looking for something simple and satisfying. The double patty smash burger was super juicy and packed with flavour -- no unnecessary frills, just a well-done burger at a good value. Everything felt straightforward but done right. Also tried the banana pudding and it was surprisingly good, a nice sweet finish. It's a quick takeout spot, but there's plenty of seating if you want to eat there. Perfect for a fast, no-nonsense burger craving. Staff was also friendly and service was quick!
Dare I say this is the best smash patty burger in all of Toronto? I am saying it, but let me explain how I got here and what I tried . I did a smash patty cheeseburger tasting across town. I had Burger Drops. I had Matty's Pattys. I had Harry's Charbroil. I had Happy Burger. I had Ugly Delicious. And these all had their merits. But I do think Rosie's is the best put together and has the best sum of its parts. The mallard on the burger was great. The cheese was American (invented by a Canadian) that is really the only choice for smash patty burgers. It was the right amount of condiments. But that potato bun? May be the thing that puts Rosie's on top. Overall this is a great burger. It comes out fast. The staff was nice. The storefront was clean. What else do you want???
Tried the Chunky Monkey at Rosie's Burger! If you've been around the city, one should never sleep on Rosie's banana pudding & this is coming from someone who's not a fan of bananas. Chunky Monkey is a twist on their classic banana pudding, with cookie crumbs and mini eggs on top the CHUNKINESS was real added a pic of one of their specials in the past, the Cocoa Crumble If only this will be on the menu forever but it's not so run don't walk!!!
Didn't get any burger but got the banana pudding and a chocolate chip cookie. 11/10 stars OH MY!!!! The service was amazing. Very quick and easy to order. Barely any line during peak dinner time. Was nice and bright inside and had some seats available to sit all the time. The vibe inside does give burger joint but that's to be expected. Was clean though. Food: - chocolate chip cookie: 4/5 stars. It was a great cookie. Can't go wrong with this - banana pudding: 5/5 stars! This is hands down the best banana pudding I've ever eaten. It's not too sweet and had actual fresh banana pieces in there. The graham cracker layer really sealed the deal for me. Just perfect and everything I could've ever asked for in a dessert. I literally bought another pint for me to take home. SO GOOD!

My first experience was memorable for one reason: the burger was so unmemorable. Sadly, this second visit left me with the same impression. If anything, Rosie's is consistent--consistently underwhelming. That being said, I'll give credit where it's due. Rosie's gets several elements right. The pickles are flavorful, the shredded iceberg lettuce adds a crisp, fresh texture (in my opinion, the best choice for smash burgers), and the bun--which I believe to be a toasted potato bun--offers a soft yet sturdy base. These ingredients certainly help elevate a burger. However, they are just supporting players. What truly makes or breaks a smash burger is the patty, the seasoning, and the sauce, and this is where Rosie's struggles. The beef patty is bland and underseasoned. While the smashing technique itself is solid, yielding a decent crust and reasonable juiciness, the flavor just isn't there. A smash burger is meant to pack a punch with bold, beefy flavors, but this patty lacks depth. Perhaps a fattier beef blend or simply a heavier hand with the salt could go a long way in addressing this issue. The sauce, unfortunately, doesn't save the burger either. It tastes like a generic mix of mayo and ketchup, with possibly a hint of mustard or other spices, though it's difficult to tell. Regardless, it's forgettable and lacks the tang or complexity that a good burger sauce should bring to the table. In summary, Rosie's Burgers gets a 3.5/5 --it's perfectly passable. If you're in the area and craving a burger, it'll do. But it's not a place I'd go out of my way to visit, and it certainly doesn't deserve to be in the conversation for the best burgers in Toronto. To truly earn its spot in that discussion, Rosie's needs to focus on the fundamentals: a more flavorful patty and a standout sauce. Until then, it's just another burger joint.
Came by to try the banana pudding. It is $6 for the half pint, $12 for the full. The pudding was pretty good with sliced bananas and Graham crumbles but perhaps a bit overhyped. The inside is very retro with some seating available. I didn't try the burgers but there is a beyond meat option available. Most people were enjoying a burger and fries or onion rings, which I may try next time.
Dropped by on a Friday night for some banana pudding and the restaurant was fairly busy. I got 1/2 pint of their classic Dad's banana pudding & another 1/2 pint of their April special Chunky Monkey banana pudding. I would stick with the classic one, it has a richer banana flavour, is perfectly sweet, and has better crisp texture. I definitely couldn't finish a 1/2 pint by myself in one sitting.

I got the Rosie (double) which included cheese and other toppings. I also got frings which was a combination of onion rings and fries. The burger patties were perfectly cooked and had a nice sear on the edges. Of course, I had to try the famous banana pudding as well. This is something I will definitely order again. I love the generous amount of cookie crumbs in it. The half pint is enough for two people to share. My main complaint with this location is that it was extremely hot inside. It took 10 minutes for my food to be prepared and the whole time I was suffering from the heat. Prices are a little bit high but this is elevated fast food so I guess it's justified.

They had a huge influx of customers ordering, picking up, as well as Uber drivers going in and out constantly. As a result, pre-ordering was a smart choice and worked out nicely as my order was ready in time as promised. As the name suggests, most come for their burgers. I tried their signature Rosie Burger which tasted fresh but was lacking just a tad of flavor. Their fries are salted crinkle fries which was okay, I didn't love how soft the fries were. The star of the meal was their banana pudding which I would 100% come back for just that alone. Like most, their banana pudding consists of vanilla custard and fresh banana slices, but instead of wafer, they use graham and the best part, COOKIE CRUMBLE. This layer makes all the difference in elevating this treat as there's some contrast in texture from the added crunch. Overall, the textures give a good mouth feel, the flavor is rich without being heavy, and the sweetness level is perfect. This was to die for! You can get half pints for $6 or full ones for $12.

A little pricey but it is very tasty. One of my favourite places to get smash burgers. The meat is a little thin but 2 would've been too much. The Rosie sauce is the perfect sauce for the burger. Tastes a little bit like a Big Mac but elevated. The fries are perfectly crispy and potatoey with every bite. The banana pudding is delightful but I wish it did have biscuit layers. All in all a filling meal if you want a more gourmet burger!

Super yummy banana pudding!! Tbh rivals magnolia bakery's banana pudding in nyc. I love the buttery cookie crumbles on top and wish there were more of those & more bananas layered throughout (it felt like mostly pudding towards the end). The perfect creamy and decadent dessert!
First time trying this location at Queen West and had an underwhelming experience. Place is small and seating is strictly limited to 10-12 patrons. There's a bench for people to sit on while waiting for their take-out order. I placed my order and was quoted 10 mins. However, it took double the amount of time before my order was ready. But hey not a big deal for me even though the store wasn't overly busy. The ultimate dealbreaker is when I tasted their food. I got the Rosie thinking that it will be better than the Classic burger. The meat was under-seasoned and the Rosie sauce was bland and tasteless. The sauce didn't even complement the richness of the beef patty and cheese. The buns were too soft for my liking, would have preferred it to be a little bit sturdier as it became soggy from the sauce/toppings. The crinkle cut fries were just average. Yes they were crispy but at same time was overly salted. With other local alternatives offering great fast food smash style burgers, definitely won't be coming back here. read more
I was craving a good smash burger around the Queen West area and stumbled upon Rosie's burger. I got the single patty classic burger which had a very thin and crispy patty but with lots of condiments. The winner was the super crispy crinkle fries. If you like an even crispier version of the shake shack fries, you'll like this. I was too full to eat my banana pudding so I brought it to go. It's topped with cookie crumble and has a few slices of banana in it embedded in a not too sweet custard. It's best served chilled and it's divine. I'll come for the fries and banana pudding next time! read more

Being an avid TicTock scroller I've come across more than a few videos of people giving their list for Toronto's Best Burger spots, and Rosie's Burgers is listed in the top 5 more often than not. Last week I decided to make my own list by trying out the top 10 most commonly listed spots in the before mentioned videos and today being a holiday Monday I decided to make the 45 minute drive down town. This burger spot had a collection of food delivery Bicycles parked out front which is always a good sign, upon entering I made my way through the sea of Uber delivery drivers and gave my order to the very courteous guy working the register. A Rosie burger for me, another for my friend, two bottles of water and of course a half order of banana pudding. Why the pudding instead of fries? Because every video I see of people reviewing burgers always includes mention of banana pudding. We waited less than 20 minutes before receiving our order. The burgers were well constructed, extremely tasty and have set the bar for the next burgers very high for sure. The twin patties were smashed to perfection, very crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, the buns had zero sogginess (is that a word?) which is always a plus. I highly recommend trying this place out. Oh and the banana pudding, an excellent choice for following the burger. Sweet, tasty, and delicious. I have zero complaints and will probably return, unless of course the remaining burger spots live up to the hype. But even then I'll be back. read more

Great burger. Everything was fresh and hot. Crinkle fries and onion rings were delicious. Milkshake was also thick and good. Banana pudding was bomb too. Overall, great experience and it wasn't too busy when we were there around 230pm. read more

I thought I wrote a review for this place but oops it's still missing. Burgers are great. I can't complain. However, from what I remember the patty is leaning more crispy than very juicy. I can see some may prefer the more crispy edges. Their banana pudding is divine. It includes a crumble of butter cookies tossed for added texture. The fries were addictive, reminds me of McDonald's fries but crispier. The price is fair. Very rare for me to say that I'm a huge fan of the sides, that it may have outshined the burger. TLDR: Get the fries and banana pudding with your meal! It is worth it. read more

I have no idea why this place is so hyped up. The burgers are mediocre - the fillings are your standard tomato, lettuce and pickles, nothing special. The bun was so soft that it completely deflated by the time I finished half of it. I understand that the burgers are supposed to be smashed, but the fact the tomato was cut thicker than the burger itself threw me off. I also felt that the burger I ordered wasn't salty enough (I got the beyond burger); I ended up putting fries, extra house sauce, and ketchup on the sandwich to make it a bit more exciting. Though it wasn't bad, I expected something more innovative & tasty from a "5-star" burger spot. The fries were good, as was the generous portion and I liked the house sauce which had a nice tangy flavour. However, I wish they offered more than a seasoned mayo and gravy for dips. (Suggestions: homestyle spicy ketchup, garlic aioli dip, dill ranch, sweet chilli) Honestly, I just felt like I was eating at McDonald's... not something I'd want to pay $14 for. read more
Rosie's Burgers is a welcome addition to the Queen West streetscape after the winter kill caused by all the shut downs over the last couple years. A simple basic menu, clearly on the display greets you upon arrival. No combo deals, just order what you want and pay for each item separately. I got the basic one patty burger, fries and a gourmet pop. Price was just under $20 including a 15% tip. The bun was soft and a nice round size, perfect for biting into. And the toppings, perfect, with no choices offered, just the standard fare with plenty of mayo to drip between your fingers mmmmmm. And the burger was perfectly cooked with the crispy edges and yummy good! The only problem with it, which Karen alluded to, was the size was rather small. Thin. I enjoyed the combo of the whole deal, but could have eaten two of them since the meat was not quite substantial enough. Rosie's isn't kidding anyone with these single-patty burgers, as these are two-patty patties. This seems to be normal for the gourmet burger places. It's hit or miss whether the burger is big enough. Someone needs to standardize these sizes so we know what we are getting into. I found the same problem with RUDY. Burgers are great, but the single burger just isn't big enough. Speaking of the competition, there are so many good burger places downtown. One that I love is Big Smoke burgers on King W. near Portland. Of course there is the old Burger's Priest, and RUDY down the street. For lower end, there is Wendy's just opened in the old Taco Bell spot, and one of my favs, Java with their basic burger and fries priced around $10 all in. Back to Rosie's, the fries were perfect, omg so good! I loved how crispy they were without being dry and SALT, they were perfectly salted! Comparing again to RUDY when the last time we went there was literally no salt on the fries, yikes! I need to go back and try Rosie's shakes! read more
Went to Rosie's before hitting up BarChef and I definitely wasn't expecting to have a decent burger before I'd eat at BarChef! The beef was juicy, sauce was bomb and the bacon was CRISP. Thanks for the quick snack Rosie's, maybe I should've grabbed a double instead of a single haha. read more
As other reviewers mentioned, Rosie's Burgers serves up a pretty standard smash burger on a plain untoasted bun (mine was still cold actually), lettuce, a slice of tomato, two slices of pickles, cheese and their house sauce. The burger was average and nothing exceptional or standout. I appreciate the simplicity in their menu and their burgers but everything tasted a bit plain... I felt the portions were appropriate for the price but the food at Rosie's was ultimately wanting for some more flavour. I also got the fries and they were 100% a McDonald's fries clone where you get a thin and crispy yellow fry that has more crunch than potato. They were lightly salted, which was great, and even though the fries tasted exactly like McDonald's fries, there was still something missing about them that makes them not quite as palatable as the original. read more
