Was on week long motorcycle trip. When looking for a place for breakfast, asked someone for a good place to eat. Without hesitation, he said Rosie's. We have eaten here several times and had a good breakfast so when a friend suggested we stop for lunch I recommended Rosie's. A big mistake. Our waitress was fine, however another waitress had her child there, while the waitress was checking the salts and peppers at the tables, she also checked the child's diaper and said something that implied a dirty diaper. She continued with checking tables. Them she gave the child something like candy which she began to choke on and the child vomited right by the cash register. The mother threw a rag over it and took the child to change, leaving the mess on the floor. When she returned she sat the child on the countertop. I for one found this very unappetizing and unsanitary. I will not go there again due to this. read more

We are regulars and eat here often. The coffee is outstanding. The food is excellent and comes quickly, even when they are busy. I love the staff who know us by name. Try the cheese omelet, or get the veggie omelet with extra cheese. Compared to any other breakfast place in La Crosse the prices are a bargain. This is a great little breakfast lunch diner. On Thursdays, they serve the best Reuben sandwich with freshly cooked corned beef. They make a lot of corned beef, sine they use it to make corned beef hash. Imagine - real corned beef!!! Fantastic. They also make great sandwiches. I think it closes at 1 or 2 in the afternoon. I'm extremely disappointed in the direction this dinner has been going. This is the third time in a row I've had bad experience there. The lack of customer service from the waitresses is appalling. My waitress didn't come to check on our table until nearly the end of our meal and there wasn't even a chance to grab her attention as she spent most of her time behind the bar, doing nothing but talking to her fellow coworkers. The cook ended up being the one the bring us our food. After receiving my first cup of coffee, she did not come to refill or check on our drinks once. She was more concerned with making sure her own drink was filled before the customers. When she finally did come to refill our coffee near the end of the meal, she ended up spilling coffee all over the table. All she did to "clean" it up was throw a napkin on it and walk away, leaving the mess for my and my roommate to clean up. I also had to go behind the bar myself to get condiments. On the other hand, the food there is still outstanding, the cooks do a great job at making a classic dinner breakfast. If the establishment wishes to continue being a place for dedicated customers they really need to consider replacing some of their wait staff with more polite and friendly workers. I wish to continue going to Rosie's, but i don't believe i will until they make some changes to their floor staff. read more
