They must have had different people working here in the past because I had a great experience here. I was able to make an appointment online and received a phone call the next day confirming my appointment. I also had a reminder phone call the day before I was scheduled to come in confirming the appointment and reminding me to bring insurance card and to wear a mask. The woman at the front desk was very pleasant and the doctor was great (and the exam only went around 30 minutes!). The only negative I can say about the place is they don't have a HUGE selection/types of glasses like other places do. The woman that helped me when paying for my glasses was very informative and upfront about what I was being charged for. I went with the 12 month warranty for $30 which replaces my glasses or lenses if they break or scratch! I will definitely be back for my vision needs. read more

there are some simple things this place could do to make the customer experience less frustrating and irritating. 1) you sent me a "digital form" to fill out a bunch of eye/medical history in advance, to save me the time of coming early to fill out a hard copy. great. however, the digital form's NOT a digital form you can fill out online and submit. it's a PDF that you can't click into at all. i had to download it, open up adobe reader and create my own text fields for every one of the 50+ fields. that's annoying and if someone doesn't have adobe reader, they won't be able to do this. anyway - so i fill this out the only way it can be filled out. then i'm left to wonder, will replying to this reminder with the attachment work? the email said yes, reply to this. so i did. but i doubted it would work. so i came in 30 min early just in case, taking off of work even earlier, and getting childcare set up. i get there, and sure enough, no we didn't get it. ok - so then how is anyone supposed to sign in early the way you've set it up? it is not possible. now i'm standing at the front desk, answering questions in front of a staff of 5-6 people about my medical history out loud to the receptionist? that's not good. that shouldn't happen. 2) put yourselves in your patients' shoes. remind people their exam will require them to get their eyes dilated and to factor that into how they get home. especially at night. a simple reminder in your not-helpful "reminder/pre-registration" email would be helpful. people might want to plan ahead if driving home in the dark with dilated eyes proves challenging. 3) tell your doctor to work on his bedside manner. i came in accidentally with an old sample of contacts and he asked me questions about my contact changing regimen. great questions, helped me realize i should be subbing in solution and new contacts more regularly -- good reminder. i'm there for that. however, when asked if i knew the strength of the over the counter readers i've been using (bought by my wife), i said i wasn't sure. his response - a barely concealed scoff - i thought you'd say that. treat your patients, who are not thinking of their eye health 100% of the time like you might be, with more respect. 4) staff was friendly - but like the first time i came here (i showed up after waiting a month for an appointment only to find out the doctor had a conflict - they'd tried calling earlier in the day but i was in meetings all day so didn't get it), half the folks there seem to not really know what they're doing - in a constant state of training (same thing happened with same people 4 months earlier). i asked myself, is this how it normally is, am i being too harsh and thought back to every one experience i've had at optical centers, etc and the answer was no. this is strange. unprofessional. not good. i never leave bad reviews for things - live and let live, everyone has bad days. but come on. if you can't make your visitors' life easier at least don't make it harder. thanks. read more

Horrible customer service. The "dr" was worthless, I still had to go to a REAL Dr. to get a prescription. The Manager snaped at me when I questioned her ability to handle my account. Continued her nasty and vile attitude EVERY time I had to deal with her. She should NOT be dealing with the public, she cant handle it and it shows. Please read!!!! ***THIS PLACE COMPLETELY SUCKS*** from parking, to staff to even eye "dr". It was our 1st time here. I brought my 6 y/o because his teacher had mentioned to me that my son was having some eye sight issues. So when I called, the very FIRST thing I asked was, "do you guys see kids? Is there an eye exam for kids etc" yes, yes, and yes. We show up.... theres absolutely no lines on the parking spaces. Staff are very unprofessional listening to rap music.. THEN "dr" walks in. Looks like he had just woken up. Messy hair, wrinkly clothes, very bad hygiene. Anyways, during the exam, you can tell he was getting irritated with my son. No patience at all. Then at the end, there was no diagnoses because he couldn't diagnose him. He gave him an adult exam and told me they do not see kids his age. I was so disappointed because I wasted an hr 1/2!!!! He also had an attitude and was not professional at all. Stay away. Please. Don't spend your money here. read more

This is one of the worst eye care places I have been too. The staff doesn't care about their customers. They have you sign waivers when you want to put lenses in your frame. Eventually, they break your frame and they force you to pay a new frame from them and offer you 20% discount. I asked the lady who can you break a frame (an expensive one too) and her reply was "it happens" which tells me they don't know what they are doing. Stay away from this place. The Opthalmic assistants and/or or technicians are not on par with those at the Board of Trade location. They we of no help at all picking out frames to suit me - probably bc/ they have a very limited selection frames suited for high index (can't see the E without 'em) lenses... also they did not seem well informed on the lens features and coatings & didn't have sample of the 2 different transition shades -didnt even seem to know there were 2 choices.. The worst place to go! I will never recommend them to anyone. I had an appointment in may 2015 and they said they will have my new glasses in 6-8weeks. I called every month to check on my glasses and was told they were still waiting for the glasses. Now it is Jan 2017 and I am told I need to call my insurance because it has been almost a year. I want to be included in the list of poor reviews for the Niles office. As an almost 25 year customer of Rosin, the current staff (except for Juanita) should be fired! I ordered a replacement contact lens on a rush basis. After hearing nothing from Rosin for three weeks, I made the trip to their office and was told the order came in about two weeks earlier. They claimed to have called me, once, even though I have no record of the call. When I asked why they could not have followed up with a second call on my alternate number, the response was that "they were too busy." Rosin Eyecare staff is unprofessional and discourteous. I called them a month ago trying to book an appointment for my father before the end of the year, and they gave me the last possible date in the month. I wish I checked this site prior to making an appointment for my father. They were unclear on the location of the appointment when they called him with a reminder call, and my father went to the wrong location. He was turned away and got to Rosin within 20 min of his appointment, and they said they were unable to squeeze him in. They were rude and offered no alternatives to our situation. read more

Great selection of glasses! This location is definitely on par with the brands of glasses they carry. The girls at the front desk were extremely helpful and offered to help me choose a new pair of frames without me even having to ask! I will have to say the were extremely busy when I initially walked in and I had to wait and browse around for a bit. The optician that helped me recommended many different options and knew her stuff! Worst place to go. Rude and Horrible customer service. Staff doesn't know how to talk with their customers and act in a bitchy manner and hangs up on them. I tried ordering contact lens through them, first of all it look them 20 min to find my prescription, secondly told me to order another brand of contact lens and thirdly the price was totally different then their website. So when i talk to this lady about the price and tell her that, can you do price match, she tells me that go buy from wall mart and hangs up. I wonder, is that the way you hang up on a customer. Today is 4/29/15. I will never use this business again and will never recommend it to anyone. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and Attorney General's office for fraud also. I ordered glasses at the very the end of 2014. Since then, the store has gotten my prescription wrong and multiple times they got my glasses incorrectly created or they received them broken. Ultimately, they ignored my dissatisfaction with their craftsmanship and tried to tell me "it is a lifestyle change" and I should take them with the incorrect prescription and try them out for a while. The lenses were so poor it would have been a driving safety hazard. The business charged me for the expensive progressive lenses and then could not get them right, so I had to settle for cheaper standard lenses. When the difference came out to them owing me over $250, they claimed there is no refund because they lost money on creating the two incorrect sets of lenses. I have been going to Rosin for years. This past year they could not provide my fave Wrigley eyeglasses which was disconcerting---because I've purchased this frame for at least four years from Rosin and the "To kill a Mockingbird" style is still very mainstream and I loved it! Juanita has always been a very friendly professional....Please dismiss any negative review of her. Juanita gets 5 stars...Some Crabby Paddy prob had a terrible day and gave her a hard time..I am sure Juanita actually served him as a quite professionally. .Giving 4 stars because the optometrist filed a report saying we had discussed aging eye issues, et al, and he definitely did not. The young ladies at the reception desk were amazingly attentive both at my entrance to the shop and at my exit..P.S. Juanita took care of MY ill-fitting choice of eyeglasses and refitted them in 3 minutes. Now the glasses fit. read more

I found this place because my regular optometrist didn't accept my new insurance. When I first went there for my initial exam, I would say my experience was satisfactory. The staff was friendly, but there wasn't anything special about their service. I had been using B&L contacts for over 15 years, and the doctor convinced me to try a different brand because they were supposedly better for my eyes. So I switched. Well, a few months later, these contacts have become uncomfortable and often times rip and tear. I have NEVER had a problem with my contacts before, let alone them falling apart. So, I called and asked if I could order some new contacts to carry me through the end of my prescription, and I would return the unused contacts. I said I was willing to just pay for new ones; I wasn't looking to get anything for free. I was told that the doctor would have to see me and that there would be a fee to do so. I said I would be more than happy to see the doctor, but didn't understand why I should have to pay to see the doctor. I've already paid for my exam, I have a prescription, so all I wanted was new contacts that I would pay for, that's it. The woman I spoke to said that there is a fee and that was it. So, I will never go there again. That is not a way to run a business. read more
