We chose Towne Tavern after church Sunday. It was a little busy but that's normal for Sunday. We were seated pretty quick for a party of six. The waitress was quick and got our drink order along with our food. The food came out two stages then we were able to eat. The food was good but what you would expect for burgers, wings and salads. Our waitress disappeared a couple of times when we needed drinks. Not sure where she was but it wasn't what we expected. We stopped on a Saturday afternoon. The place was only medium busy but the service was SLOW. The people at the table behind us left because they didn't get their food in a timely manner. Server forgot one of our party's drinks. The pic is "Mama's meatloaf." What they failed to mention is that mama probably made it a month ago. I tried this place again after being very dissatisfied about seven months ago. It took 40 minutes for us to get our meals with only four other tables in there. The staff just hangs out in the kitchen doesn't come out and greet anyone. They barely even speak to you when they take your order or drop off your food. Food is nothing wonderful. Me and my wife went to this location to give it another shot after the last review i posted on Google Maps. We walked in there was a person standing in the office doorway talking to someone in the office took her at least 5 minutes to turn around and acknowledge us, we were then seated we waited 15 minutes for our server. Now if this place had been busy we would if understood, but if there was no wait at the door this place was not that busy. We had no problem with the waitress she was nice she didn't come back and check on us a lot will explain later in the review So we placed our drink orders and looked over the menu, the one thing we came fore they had taken off the menu so we ordered the pizza logs (which were burnt) and the cheese bites. We had also ordered I got the King Kong burger something I get when I go here. It was dry overcooked and drowning in cheese.the homemade fries were greasy It's never been like that the times I have ordered it. My wife got a posta dish which she couldn't eat right off hand because we were never given any silverware to eat with. The management saw we were there and gave us a dirty look because she knew I wrote a review on Google maps about this place we spent 62 dollars at this place for mediocre food and we didn't even buy alcoholic drinks. Prices are outrageous if i were you I would avoid this place like the plague me and my friends will not be returning to this location ever again. First off, the service is top notch. Candice served a few of us at the bar and she was attentive, funny and friendly. I ordered the wings and I made sure they were coaches style. Wow!! Hot and spicy from the first wing to the last drum. Town is a bar and it is a nice clean bar. Hence the word, "tavern". I love going here for lunch. Like a lot of restaurants in this day and age, it's hard to keep good employees but the folks at Town have mated with the skeleton crew and they continue to do a good job. Went there last Saturday. We were seated right away and server brought drinks quickly, After that it went downhill. Waited 30 mins after ordering and inquired about our food, was told it would "be out soon". Another 30 mins later I asked to speak with the manager. She said the kitchen was backed up and we were two more tickets to go. Which means they had not even started to cook our order yet. This will be a fantastic spot when they work the kinks out. I have been a Towne Tavern regular at their Fort Mill location for many years. Big Bills fan so I participate in the York County Bills Backer group. But, the York location is much closer so very happy to see their expansion. Can only give my first visit here 3 stars. Really closer to 2 stars. It's a great location. The wait staff is fantastic. Host staff should be a little more communicative - especially when you leave. A manager wandering the dining area was very attentive. She got me the celery that had been forgotten in record time. I almost always order Really Freakin' Hot Wings, Coach's Style all drums on my visits. As I did on this visit. I was informed this location cannot do the really freakin hot coach's style because it will affect the kitchen staff. Gotta fix that. How can the Fort Mill location do it with no issue? But the real issue, the wings and fries were lukewarm at best. Some of the wings were absolutely room temp. That was very disappointing. Also, the all drums request was missed. Not a big deal as the flats are fine but I'm just a drums kinda guy. The blue cheese? Absolutely on point just like the other location. So flippin good! As we were getting in our car to depart, we had parked very close to the building where employees were out in a small porch off the kitchen. There were 3 of them on the porch on break I assume and one of them had some quite colorful language. You gotta clean that up. Just not a good representation of the business. So my husband and I went to this location tonight. When we first walked in we were not greeted. A lady who was holding a broom and dust pan and talking to someone in the office finally turned around and said hello. I told her two and she sat us. We sat down and we waited 10 to 15 mins before we were even approached by a server. When she finally came over and took our order she was very sweet and kind. We placed a order of two appetizers and a meal for both my husband and I. One of the appetizers were burnt but tasted ok. When we got our meals my husband's burger was dripping in cheese and the burger was dry and the fries were very greasy. My meal on the other hand, first I had to wait about five minutes to get a fork so I could at least eat my meal. I had order pasta and some of the noodles were cold and the sauce lasted a little off. I have been to this location a couple of times and it has been going down hill for a while now. The only decent thing was our server but we hardly saw her. I get that restaurants get busy and servers get busy but the place wasn't even half full so the service should of been better. Unfortunately I will not be returning to this location. read more

The food quality, at least from delivery, is not good. There seems to be a disconnect from dining in quality versus door dash orders. Love coming here for brunch, and dinner! Wednesday music bingo is so fun, and I love that they are pretty consistent with their food. The food that I have pictures of is what I'll talk about. I was obsessed with the breakfast quesadilla. It was delicious & very filling! For that price, the avocado toast was not great. There was supposed to be an egg on it but they forgot it and then they brought out an egg cooked not how we ordered it. I would expect for how much they charge there to be more avocado on the toast. However, that is the only dish that I have ever had at this place that I have not thought was worth it or good. Just beware maybe don't order avocado toast here. It's a staple order for me at many restaurants, just not here. If you're close to York, or just passing through this is a great place to stop you never know what type of environment you're going to walk. I've been here where there's a ton of police officers and then the next time they're bikers. It's a good little mix with a great menu. Definitely a staple for York! read more

Less than a mile from our home, we frequent this place often. Generally we have a good experience. The beer battered fish is great and plentiful. The Weck and Loaded French dip sandwiches are also good. On our recent trip we just wanted a couple of Cheeseburgers. The waitress was great and the food came fast. However for the price, the patties seemed small to us, and they will only cook them one way, well done. So that entree is off our list. read more

If you order food from Towne Tavern in York on Door Dash, be very aware that they will usually forget to include any sauces and dips for your food. When you call them to alert them to this they will tell you that you can come and get the missing items or ask Door Dash for a refund. If I had wanted to go to their restaurant to get the missing items I wouldn't have ordered the food to be delivered. The point was that I didn't want to go out at all. Why should I ask Door Dash to refund anything? This wasn't their fault. Don't think I'll trust Towne Tavern, in York, to order food for delivery again. read more

The orders were always wrong and the food, although tasted ok enough, was not worth the price. $15.00 for 5 blackened shrimp and a cup of pasta? A little piece of bread and no salad.
