Me and my wife went to this location to give it another shot after the last review i posted on Google Maps. We walked in there was a person standing in the office doorway talking to someone in the office took her at least 5 minutes to turn around and acknowledge us, we were then seated we waited 15 minutes for our server. Now if this place had been busy we would if understood, but if there was no wait at the door this place was not that busy. We had no problem with the waitress she was nice she didn't come back and check on us a lot will explain later in the review So we placed our drink orders and looked over the menu, the one thing we came fore they had taken off the menu so we ordered the pizza logs (which were burnt) and the cheese bites. We had also ordered I got the King Kong burger something I get when I go here. It was dry overcooked and drowning in cheese.the homemade fries were greasy It's never been like that the times I have ordered it. My wife got a posta dish which she couldn't eat right off hand because we were never given any silverware to eat with. The management saw we were there and gave us a dirty look because she knew I wrote a review on Google maps about this place we spent 62 dollars at this place for mediocre food and we didn't even buy alcoholic drinks. Prices are outrageous if i were you I would avoid this place like the plague me and my friends will not be returning to this location ever again. Oh on a side note my friends were friends with the manager who confronted them about the review on Google maps which means she knew I had posted it, but how she didn't know my name she was eavesdropping on our tables conversation so be careful what you say around there

This will be a fantastic spot when they work the kinks out. I have been a Towne Tavern regular at their Fort Mill location for many years. Big Bills fan so I participate in the York County Bills Backer group. But, the York location is much closer so very happy to see their expansion. Can only give my first visit here 3 stars. Really closer to 2 stars. It's a great location. The wait staff is fantastic. Host staff should be a little more communicative - especially when you leave. A manager wandering the dining area was very attentive. She got me the celery that had been forgotten in record time. I almost always order Really Freakin' Hot Wings, Coach's Style all drums on my visits. As I did on this visit. I was informed this location cannot do the really freakin hot coach's style because it will affect the kitchen staff. Gotta fix that. How can the Fort Mill location do it with no issue? But the real issue, the wings and fries were lukewarm at best. Some of the wings were absolutely room temp. That was very disappointing. Also, the all drums request was missed. Not a big deal as the flats are fine but I'm just a drums kinda guy. The blue cheese? Absolutely on point just like the other location. So flippin good! As we were getting in our car to depart, we had parked very close to the building where employees were out in a small porch off the kitchen. There were 3 of them on the porch on break I assume and one of them had some quite colorful language. You gotta clean that up. Just not a good representation of the business. In closing, Towne Tavern is awesome and I know they will get the York location running like clockwork. Can't wait to go back and see the improvements.

Being nice by giving it a three! I think it is a cool spot! Had the day off and stopped in for a bite! It was a beautiful day out so I decided to eat outside! I was getting there just as it opened! They had just sat a four top on the deck! I asked the lady if I could sit on the patio! She asked for my drink order and brought me a sweet tea! Then another gentleman approached me and asked if anyone got my order! I told him I was still looking over the menu! Then no one every came back! I got up and left! A few other four tops had sat on the deck and patio! I guess eating alone may have had something to do with! They need to be better! Hopefully this constructive criticism help! They need to be better! It was a shame because they had a really nice menu!

Wings, burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders and sandwiches . But they do a southern style home cooking with specials on Sunday. It changes from meatloaf, fried chicken, fish (whitting) . On to our food. We started with the spinach dip, it is definitely home made, good taste, not the over creamy stuff that's probably frozen. Good cheesy taste and tortilla s are fresh. $6.50 Daughter ordered the 1/4 lb burger with normal toppings, comes with fries for $8.00 plus .50 cheese. We got order of 24 wings, 12 hot buffalo, breaded and 12 lemon pepper, also breaded. The burger is a sad sad excuse for $8. Horrible size it looks not much bigger than a flattened meatball. Wings are good, but came out barely warm and the $4 fry is just a frozen half basket of yuck. So not impressed. They've been open 2 weeks now and only 1 other table of customers at prime rating location. No signage on front of building and the building is WAY off street half hidden by Denny's. I haven't seen much advertisement on social media or in local papers. Good luck getting business . Exactly why previous restaurantt closed. No one knew it was here, but at least the food was better quality at old place. One more thing. Debit or credit card is a 3.5% upcharge.

But I will say this the burger had the good flavoring that you look for in the burger but the size of the burger being smaller than the bun! I will never order the burger here again unless they increase the size of the burger to match the price. And maybe give a cheese options of cheeses and maybe offer to season the fries. The spinach dip was good you could tell it was fresh homemade along with the chips just kinda wish the dip wasn't so greasy. The grease made it look unpleasant to look at. Not much of things from when this location was the draft has changed. There's no personality to make it stand out for what this place was with the past businesses that where here. And when I hear a place called City of Legends it makes me think of New Orleans kind of soul food/bar food but that's just my take on it.

I saw it was top rated and when I saw the Pretzel and French Dip on the menu I wanted to go. It's a nice spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of large TV's with all manner of sports playing on them. Really cool sports logos decorated the walls. We were greeted cheerfully and seated at a table. Unfortunately right away it started off on a not great note as there was remnant's of what looked like chicken tenders and fries on the floor beneath our table. Perhaps a left over spill from the previous dinners. We ordered the Bavarian Pretzel right away for our appetizer and had a look at the menu. I knew I wanted to try the French Dip. I love them so much, it was a no brainer. My mother tried the fish sandwich. The pretzel was amazing. It was huge and came with two dipping sauces. Mom loved the queso dip! From there things went downhill. As you can see from the pictures the fish was WAY over fried. In fact it was burnt. As soon as the waitress came over to check on us we had to send it back. When she saw it she agreed it was burnt. My French Dip also was lackluster. It seemed more like a chopped up hamburger put onto the roll. Also it seemed a bit over done on pieces. The au jus looked oily. It was not what I am used too when I think of a French Dip. It did have a heaping pile of fries though so that was nice! My mother's new fish sandwich came out about when I was finishing up. I tasted a piece of her fish and I think maybe the oil was old. It had a smell and taste to it of old fry oil. I will add, both of our rolls were very good! The service was really great! Our server was very friendly, apologetic about the fish, made sure our drinks were full without asking and was quick to get us some togo containers and a cup to take my drink home. All very much appreciated! Also, they took the fish sandwich off our bill without us even having to ask. Overall it was a nice place. Nice people. It was a holiday weekend so maybe we just picked the wrong dishes. I was looking at the Nashville Hot Honey Chicken. Maybe if there is a next time I'll try it! But get the Pretzel!!!

Instead, I became spiritually welded to a barstool while the TV blasted a man in flannel yeeting a chainsaw like it owed him money. And the fried pickles. Good grief. Those things ambushed me. Nothing in Charlotte even comes close!!!

Inconsistency was the theme of our recent dinner at BearWalrus. Disappointing, and yet hopeful,…read morebecause with some attention to detail this could become a great addition to the Rock Hill restaurant scene, As we sat our server did an excellent job explaining the menu. However, she then disappeared. Well, not disappeared, we could clearly see her at a table talking, and talking, with another couple. 15 minutes later we still hungrily (and thirstily) sat waiting to place our order. The service unfortunately remained unsteady throughout the evening. My wife and I love properly barbecued brisket. (Key mention, I lived in Texas many years and my wife grew up in Houston. We've taken vacations visiting Texan barbecue joints. Admittedly, we're "brisket snobs". ). Brisket is a tough cut of meat and aside from lots of loving time and attention it requires fat. Fat provides tenderness, moistness and most importantly flavor. When asked, ALWAYS order fatty brisket, not lean. Of the three slices of brisket we received, one was delicious, it all but fell apart with a fork. Another was partly good but the third slice was clearly overly lean; it was dry, tough and, in our view, not worth eating. So again, inconsistencies. We had a dozen oysters, four each of Good (from Virginia), Awesome (PEI) and Baller (Washington). The descriptions should've been switched. The large Chesapeake oysters were the best. They had a buttery finish - I enjoyed them. Meanwhile the Pacific oysters were very briny and one tasted of fish; after that I didn't touch the remainder . (I'm fine, by the way, no after-meal ill effects). I now suspect the price points for the oysters have less to do with quality and more with shipping costs. My advice, support our local, and delicious, fisheries. We ordered hushpuppies for starters and they arrived a dark, dark brown in color. The table next to us received the same so we first told ourselves that was perhaps how they were served here. However, we then saw other table servings and realized ours were burnt. The manager comped us for these (we had only eaten one). Of the four sides we had, the Cole slaw and onion rings were good but the Cowboy beans overly sweet and the Mac N Cheese was bland and lacked seasoning. BearWalrus is new, clearly still working out a few kinks. There were enough positives in our meal that I'm optimistic that this unevenness in quality will be ironed out in due course.
