One star. Would not recommend. Last two visits I had to fight over light ice. First time the owner argued with me and got hostile. They handed me an extra horchata, made a big show of it, and when I offered to give the first one back he shooed me out saying "what are we going to do with that?" Second visit I asked for light ice in my lemonade and they tried to charge extra. I pushed back because the drinks are already over five dollars. They have a nice online system BUT they don't use it. I placed my order, showed up 40 minutes later and they hadn't even looked at the order. The lady had to look at my phone to see what I had ordered. Why? Of course, didn't get any of the extras (cheese, bacon, etc) that I had requested and PAID for online. At first I didn't like to order at the front counter, but the service is always good and the food comes out quick. All the breakfast tacos are great and the cheese enchiladas. We went to Rockport for the weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday. So the last morning of our trip he goes and gets us a Mexican breakfast feast!!! He knows I'm obsessed with Migas, however I was unaware that this restaurant served them...I sent him for a chorizo bean and cheese taco. My sister got a taco with chorizo & papas, that was also great. The papas are actually french fries, I know this maybe an issue for some people, but trust me, its all good! Decided to grab some breakfast tacos as we headed out Sunday morning back to New Braunfels. It's a tiny place but very vibrant when you walk through. We ordered 7 tacos: 3 potato egg, 2 bacon egg, 1 barbacoa, and a bean and cheese. We got there just in time because I turned around and the line behind was long! We waited maybe 3 minutes and they called our number. I did what most people do when they get breakfast tacos-open them all and guess what they are but NO!! This place used a sharpie to mark them!!! No guessing: BCE, BC. BQ, PE! Well worth the $23 inc tip. Son LOVED the barbacoa. Oh I also loved that they brought in a paper sack inside a small plastic bag!!! Tacos get messy. Cute place, but horrible food. We are local, and haven't eaten here in years. Decided to give a try because they were not busy. We ordered bacon bean and egg and a beef fajita with lettuce and tomato.. Ok, so the egg was gritty and mealy, not sure eggs were real..bacon was puree..tossed it. Absolutely horrible. We had my elderly mother with walker with us so we were somewhat worried about finding an empty table as they were all full at time of entry. Luckily we were able to order and get a great table. This method must work! On to the food. We ordered: Borracho Dip: concept was good but it was not very hot, tasted like wolf brand chili. Queso & Chips: flavor was decent but also very cold Pancake plate with scrambled cheese eggs with double bacon. It was made to order and delicious. Migas taco no egg: no seasoning and bland Crispy taco: I ordered it meat and cheese only. It came with tomatoes and it too was ice cold. Picadillo was ok...under seasoned Tostada: we ordered a single and was brought the plate. The beans had a strong smoky Cumino flavor and no salt. The rice was decent. Taco Salad: fresh ingredients but underwhelming. Same flavor issues with the beans. The shell was fresh made but very oily. Bacon egg & cheese taco: It tasted great but to my surprise the cheese was an American slice on the bottom rather than shredded. The star of meal was the fresh salsa. The restraint was not clean but it could be due to it being busy. the bathrooms were very clean. The lady who delivered the food was nice and the food came out quickly. I'm originally from a border town and never have heard of a breakfast tostada so I had to try it! It was like a regular tostada with beans and cheese but it had bacon and an egg on top. Simple yet Sooooo delicious. We also tried an apple empanada and it was one of the best I've ever had. read more
