Wonderful brunch at Roslyn Cafe! Best place to eat in town. Took a detour on our way to Yakima just to have a taste of their fare! Nummy!!

wife and I have been meaning to go here for some time and finally just decided to go and enjoy the town for a few hours. after spending some time outside the building looking at the mural and taking pictures with it (Northern Exposure fans, of course) we went in to eat. I was shocked the food was as good as it was. For a place as iconic as Roslyn('s) Cafe, they could have phoned in the quality of food but the sole chef in the back...she knew what she was doing. We ordered firecracker hot wings and they were perfect. The chicken was cooked first and crispy (not slimey or greasy) and then drenched in the sauce which was hot but not so hot you couldn't enjoy it. The exact right amount of fire and the best wings I've had in years. Certainly the best I've had in Washington, hands down. The coffee was not just brown water it was good, the fountain sodas had the right syrup to water ratio and weren't flat and the place was clean. Both my wife and I ordered the Verde Burger (jalapenos, chiles and pepperjack cheese) with parmesan fries. This plate alone was fantastic. Everything was flavorful. There wasn't a sad tomato slice and some iceburg lettuce but it was good quality meat, actual mixed greens and a healthy looking tomato slice on a golden-toasted bun with shoestring fries covered in not too much fresh parmesan. Typically a plate of food of this high quality and care in preparation comes with a large bill, but it's just a burger plate here. If this cafe wasn't over an hour from me I'd be a regular and I'd be spoiled and fatter. Service is a tad slow but I can see why. It's a small cafe, more wait staff and they'd trip over each other. More wait staff and profit would go down as well. This is a town that still draws a Northern Exposure crowd along with the historic town crowd and makes money on weekends. Adding staff wouldn't make business sense so as a client just roll with it, don't be in a hurry and enjoy the food and the town. read more

Have been there a few times now and love it. Yes, the service can be a bit long during peak times so if your in a hurry go to McDonald's! The new food menu is great, the Lamb burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had. Biscuits and gravy are over the top good. I found the new owners to be delightful, they're finding their stride and when they do all the bitchy yelpers will find something else to write about. read more

Roslyn is a quaint little town bordering on dilapidated, but if you turn off the main drag between Salmon la Sac and Cle Elum you are in for a little treat. At the end of Pennsylvania sits the Roslyn Cafe and what a sight for hungry hikers! Post hike we cruised through the little town hoping to find some nourishment before heading into Cle Elum to pick up groceries for camping that night. We arrived at an "off time" as it was 4something, but the restaurant was already starting to hop a little and was downright busy by the time we finished our meal. Grabbed a table outside to enjoy the comfortable weather and were greeted with menus and waters. Ordered a Roslyn Brewing Company Brookside, which is quite a tasty pale ale. Nice to sip a local brew and stare at where it's made right across the street. Menu offered lots of great choices but we narrowed it down to the BBQ pork sandwich with the Parmesan fries and the Buffalo Chicken salad. Both meals were great, but the BBQ pork was absolutely incredible. The pork was slow cooked to perfection and the cole-slaw which topped it was tangy without being overpowering. The fries were crispy and flavored nicely with fresh Parmesan, I couldn't stop picking them off of JP's plate. We have been spending a lot of time east of the mountains and I am certain we will be back here. I never watched Northern Exposure growing up, but it was pretty cool to dine at a place who's sign was the opening shot of the show and the fact that they serve great food in a casual environment made it all the better. Terrible service and unsanitary. We walked in and waited about 10 minutes before anyone spoke to us. Should have left at this point, but chalked it up to being busy brunch. People we being served randomly and not according to when seated. After about 40 minutes and with almost no one left in restaurant watched waitress put fingers in mouth and wipe nose. That sealed it, we left! Drinks were comped to us, but only after we demanded it on our way out. read more

This place seriously has thee best burgers anywhere. And I love burgers!! I get so tired of going to other restaurants and getting those frozen patties as my burger. Not this place!! Hand formed large grass fed juicy burgers with spring greens on them. Love the mushroom and Brie burger, the classic, and the smokestack. Yum. And what makes it even better? The Parmesan fries! Only a few choices to eat in Roslyn, even tho there may have been more people eating across the street, we chose the Roslyn Cafe and we're very glad we did. We were immediately greeted by Tammy, hostess, waitress, and chef!! The menu choices were amazing and full of wonderful tasty sounding items for breakfast. We settled on omelettes, I chose the Salmon la Sac...yummy!!! As we ate, we played a game on our iPad and just had fun laughing and being ourselves. Tammy brought us our bill and then a few minutes later came back to the table and said, "folks, welcome to Roslyn! The people at the other table just bought your breakfast!" We were pleasantly surprised and my first thought was, oh it's an April fools joke. But no!!! The kindness of strangers is absolutely amazing!!! I was so touched, it brought a tear to my eye!! I've always wanted to visit Roslyn because I watched Northern Exposure. I was not disappointed in the charming town and the great food at the Roslyn Café. Those parmesan fries were to die for and I can't tell you why...but the burger was rich and completely different than any burger I have ever had. yum! read more

Stood at the entrance for at least 5 minutes before anyone noticed us to seat us. Finally got seated outside. Ordered Thai Lettuce Wraps. Smelled and tasted like dog food. Was disgusting! Sent back and luckily didn't have to pay for it. Three people I was with did not like what the ordered either. Even the hamburgers tasted weird. Bathrooms were pretty dirty. Amazing food and great service made this unexpected gem a top restaurant for a ten day trip. A great selection of food items including a wonderful vegetarian option, a pub tray with meat and cheeses, a hummus plate and a wonderful salad. Living locally, I've eaten here many times over the last several years and always walk away happy! It's a great place to take friends and family when they come to visit. We were there for Sunday Breakfast, terrible service, food didn't come out until about an hour later, the waitress that was waiting on our table didn't know what item was on the menu and what came with it. It was an overall bad experience and would not go back. Only reason we went was because of the fact that it was in Northern Exposure and Twin Peaks but that was about it. read more

As a person of fractionally Filipino descent, I have long sought after the ultimate lumpia. I had no idea that when I walked through the doors that I would find it here at Roslyn Cafe. Those Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls were so good that it haunts me to this day. I left Roslyn thinking that my entire life has been a lie. I sat awake at night thinking of how I was living my life, and I was disgusted with myself. How could I live anywhere but Roslyn, home of the Buffalo Chicken Spring Roll? HOW?! After a long sigh at the end of my work day, a single tear fell from my eye and landed on my clenched fist. This place is a great stop in Roslyn. And they are the tater tot capital of the town, too. The wait staff is friendly. They really worked with our allergy and dietary issues plagued family, and everyone really enjoyed their meal. We would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a sandwich, burger, or a good poutine substitute. They also serve local beer and wine. Nice. read more

Absolutely the best burgers! Huge burgers and the Parmesan fries are the bomb! Yum...this is our favorite stop when traveling to the east side. Just allow some extra time, they are usually pretty busy, so if you are on a time crunch wait to stop when you have the time. read more

Two words - scratch kitchen! I went into Roslyn cafe with my family of four. The Verde burger was spicy, (not too spicy) with a full round flavor. My daughter had a bbq pork slider on a pretzel roll which was also remarkable. Even the ranch on my side salad was made from scratch. Our server was sassy and responsive. Going to the Roslyn Cafe, the first thing you notice is the historic building it is in. As soon as you are hit by how amazing it is, the incredibly friendly and helpful staff will greet you with a smile behind their masks. The service is amazing, quick and providing almost instantaneously anything you need. Last but not least the food. The portions are gargantuan - the kids menu brings more than a chain restaurant would feed an adult with, but most important, it tastes absolutely amazing. I had the Roslyn burger and can say with no reserve that is in the top five best burgers I have ever had. The fries are absolutely fantastic - freshly cooked from scratch, hot, crunchy outside but soft inside. My wife's fish and chips was another masterpiece. Perfectly seasoned, cooked and served right out of the fryer. This place got itself a new regular customer. I won't even think for a second to be in Roslyn and eat elsewhere. read more

On our drive home from Leavenworth we made a side trip to this cafe and I was incredibly impressed. Fun to be in the town of Northern Exposure but I was not expecting them to deliver as they did in the taste department. The food was better than anything we'd had in Leavenworth (and that IS saying something, since L is much-improved these days in the their food choices). But still, Roslyn Cafe had a great vibe and the food was creative and oh-so tasty. An unexpected and most delicious surprise. Going back next time we're passing through. read more

Called in a take out order. No answer and the voicemail said to email them. We email them our order and dont hear back for 25 minutes so decide to just drive on in. Upon arrival the host tells us she hasnt checked the email so we place our order in the resturaunt and wait 35 minutes for fish and chips and veggie burger. Also there were straight up 6 people maybe eating there not packed at all. I get home to eat my fish and chips and they are swimming in oil along with my fries one whole side of the fish had no batter and dripping in oil. No way I would have ever served those I wish I had a picture but this was a couple days ago and made me so mad I reinstalled yelp. All in all hour to get my food I paid 40$ for and then threw it away after trying to choke it down. But they said to be easy on you guys cause of covid so you get 2 stars. For a small town that you wouldn't expect to find much in this place definitely surprised me. It had to be one of our favorite breakfasts we had in awhile. It was small and cozy. Staff was friendly and fun to talk to. It is a place I will definitely try again when I return to the area. read more

The reason I'm giving this two stars is mainly because service was really bad!! My family and I came on a Sunday for lunch after visiting the farmer's market. It was really busy. We were a group of 9 and it was pretty much a "figure out your seats on your own" type of thing so we had to wait til the biggest table was cleared and rush to make sure to take it before anyone else does. When we helped ourselves to our seats, the waitress didn't greet us or even smile. She came to our table and passed down our menus, not even caring or maybe noticing that one of us was not seating because we were missing a chair. Luckily, the couple sitting by us who had extra chairs offered one of theirs right when we were about to ask them. The waitress came back and took our drink orders. She seemed really "blah" and just not friendly. About 20 minutes pass, she comes back to take our meal orders, we still haven't gotten our drinks. Another 30 minutes, our drinks FINALLY come followed by our food the next 10-15 minutes. As for the food, overall, it was pretty good! My family really liked the parmesan fries, and their burgers as well. The only thing was the salad with grilled salmon that I ordered... The salmon was well cooked and seasoned but the salad was swimming in dressing. My lettuce was super soggy. Overall, I would have probably given this 4 stars but I just wasn't impressed with the service. Also there were flies. Had to fan away a few. Other than that, the place is family-friendly, and a nice little spot to eat. read more

Had lunch on a Saturday at Roslyn Cafe while visiting the area. The restaurant quickly filled up so it was nice to have placed our order before the rush. We ordered the Roslyn Reuben and the Korean BBQ Steak Sandwich. The corned beef is made in-house and served on Wheat Montana (marbled rye bread). The steak sandwich made Bulgogi style beef shoulder has a bit of heat with the sriacha mayo served on a toasted baguette with lettuce, tomato, red onion and a side of house-made Kimchi. All their sandwiches are served with crispy shoestring parmesan fries - a must have! Their fries are the best out there and comes highly recommended. We were driving from the Tri-cities back to home on Whidbey and decided to do a side trip to Roslyn and have lunch. The cafe is tiny, the mural outside know to anyone who watched Northern Exposure back in the 90s. The important part, the food is amazing. This is slow food, if you are in a hurry, go somewhere else. I ordered the vegan burger and it was divine; the fries, crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside - perfect. Husband had a beef burger and it was done beautifully. The local brew is nice, light and a perfect accompaniment to a very good lunch. Got a vegan burger to go for our vegan daughter and, even though she has severe motion sickness, she is willing to do the trip to Roslyn to eat. It is that good. read more

Cute interior, good service, nice bathrooms (especially the remodeled one in the back). The kids meals I balked at as being spendy ($8.50) but it's worth it - once choice for instance is a Nutella & Banana sandwich, with applesauce & fries. Super yum, I sort of wish I'd ordered that.
