Been here more than a dozen times now, amazing diner with lots of home cooked goodness on the menu! Fresh pies, soup of the day, eggs Benedict, mimosas, GIANT plate sized pancakes plus Mexican specialty dishes on a separate menu. Faves include the classic club, chicken noodle soup, BLAST sandwich and the cheese burger. Fries have improved! They used to taste coated with something and double fried...not anymore & now tossed with chopped parsley I think. Service is phenomenal, whether you're bellied up at the bar, in a booth or at a table they are welcoming, hard working and always smiling. Wishes: that their cute patio area would ever open up. Especially in the hot months when many are traveling with pets, it would be nice to patronize this shaded area. The high rating must be for the breakfast. The salad was mixed greens poured from a bag, wilted with brown edges. The chicken salad with cashews had a weird flavor. Even the tomato soup had so much basil poured into it to be nearly inedible. Nothing in my lunch was made fresh onsite. My companion ordered a breakfast that was good. read more

We've have a place over east a few years and I've always wanted to come here for breakfast after passing it so many times. It certainly did not disappoint. The service was friendly, the prices were fair and the food was good. I had the eggs Benedict and my husband had French toast which were both super good. The eggs Benedict was good! There's a small option too but I got the regular. Everything was good, not eye opening or mind blowing but simple meal which I enjoyed. Stopped here on our way to Tacoma and overall it was very good! Pros: Great children's grilled cheese Good fries Yummy club sandwich Huge pancake that was tasty! Lots of seating with a variety of booths and tables. Cons: I didn't take any stars away for this as I didn't speak up while there, but she overcharged us $2 for the kids meal (maybe because I'm an adult) as well as uncharged me for the salad side with the kids grilled cheese instead of just adding on the salad as a side and including the fries that came with it. Such a great breakfast! My husband got the Chicken Fried Steak with over-easy eggs, hash browns and rye toast. I got the Hash Brown Omelette made vegetarian with all the veggies that come with the regular omelette. We also got a "side" pancake, thinking it would be small and we could share it, just to try their pancakes. It was bigger than their large dinner plate. Insane, but so good. My husband loved his chicken fried steak, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. My vegetarian hash brown omelette was delicious. The hash browns here are so crispy. The rye toast was really good too. And my husband loved the coffee. The hostess and the server were very friendly and helpful with the menu. When I asked if the hash brown omelette could be made without meat and country gravy, she said yes and offered to add all the veggies that come with the regular omelette. This place definitely has a small-town diner feel, so cozy and welcoming. It will become our regular stop when we're heading out of Leavenworth! read more

We were camping outside of Leavenworth and checked out Big Y Cafe for a hearty breakfast on a very cold morning. We were seated quickly, but seemed to beat the crowd as a line quickly formed. Folks were seated fairly quickly, staff was turning tables pretty efficiently. I opted for the oatmeal with a side of bacon, which was exactly what I needed to warm up and fill my belly. Kiddos had pancakes and hubs had the one egg breakfast. Food came out fast and was hot and tasty. Coffee refills were plentiful; a staff member was pretty much constantly circling the dining area with a pot. Definitely worth a visit. We stopped by this restaurant on our way back to Seattle from Lake Chelan. The drive was about an hr and it's only 10 minutes away from Leavenworth. We knew Leavenworth dining is always busy so this is a good alternative. They are right off US 2 which is a plus. Their breakfast portion is very generous. The cinnamon roll was too sweet for my taste but it has a nice texture and moist. The French toast was yummy. Their hash brown omelette was big enough for two ppl to share.
