Suncadia does it right! A 4th July weekend with the family! I had the blackened shrimp salad. Everything was very fresh! The Chimichurri dressing gave it the right kick! My husband had the pan-seared steelhead fresh and tangy! My kids had the grilled eggplant sandwich and the stovehouse burger they both liked. I would recommend his restaurant!

Pretzels and crab dip - superb!

Some server are nice and some were pretty rough in serving. Perhaps put plates & glasses gentler? I'm not sure they were tired or needed more passion in serving customers. The food were pretty good. Some had confusing flavor. The lamb, I couldn't taste the lamb at all. Rib Eye was the best one. More about food review are on the pictures.

The food was good, no complaints. Be ready to share the tomahawk. I had 5 old fashioned.

Pros: The place was gorgeous The drinks were great The golf shop attendant was very nice Cons: Bartender was grumpy AF. We were told by the hostess to grab any seat at the bar and they are just opening now. So we did. As a service industry worker myself, I'm very forgiving with most things. But, this bartender avoided eye contact, to avoid greeting us (I assume). When he finally did ask if he could make anything for us, he was snippy after I misheard what he asked me. His drinks were good, but maybe shouldn't work in the industry if he doesn't like doing his job. ‍

Overcooked 8oz steak au poivre filet. With watery sauce.

My husband and I were staying at The Lodge at Suncadia so we decided to try this place out. It was a Sunday night and we had reservations, but none were needed as the place wasn't as packed. There were only two servers and so the service took some time. But, it wasn't terrible. My husband ordered the 16oz. Ribeye (it seemed smaller) and I ordered the 8oz. Steak Au Poivre Filet. My husband said his steak was good, albeit a bit overcooked. I tasted it and didn't really care for the taste. My filet was way overcooked. I ordered it medium well (closer to medium), and it was more overly well done. The sauce was very watery but had a good taste. We also ordered baked potatoes which were good. And Brussels sprouts, which we never got. But weren't charged. We didn't let the server know that our meal wasn't cooked to our liking, but, she she seemed so busy we didn't want to bother. She was really nice, we just didn't see her as much. For dessert we ordered a chocolate cake that was $16. We took it to go and we were so surprised how small it was. The taste was good but it wasn't worth $16! The meal was ridiculously overpriced for what we got. It was very reminiscent to a dinner theater type meal. I would've rated it lower but my husband seemed to enjoy his food. However, we most likely won't be coming to this restaurant again.

Service was very slow and server gave us complimentary truffle fries for the wait. This was a smart move by them so I couldn't even be mad. Burger came out and was delicious. Only complaint is that when our food came we needed ranch and a refill on water. The waiter completely forgot about us until we were finished. Rookie mistake but burger was good.

The food was incredibly disappointing. We got almost all the appetizers and everything was overly fried to the point we could not eat it.

From the stunning views over the valley below, to the tasty cocktails, to the wonderful eats it was a great way to chillax on a lovely Saturday evening. Having had a not-great experience with wine (at a different venue) earlier in the day, we opted for cocktails here. My extra dirty martini with cheese-stuffed olives was phenomenal, and my friend enjoyed her old fashioned. We shared a roasted beet and burrata salad as an appy, then moved on to our main courses - I got the prime tenderloin and she got the cider glazed pork. We washed it all down with a couple of chocolate espresso martinis for dessert. My tenderloin was cooked to perfection, and accompanied by some sweet little roasted carrots and a lovely heap of mashed potatoes. My friend reported that her pork was more like a stew, and she really enjoyed it. What really put our experience here over the top was the absolutely amazing service we received, especially from our waiter, Trevor. He was friendly, funny, and helped us navigate the menu when we couldn't decide what to get. He also told us a little about the geological history of the area, which is built over an old coal mine. This place wasn't cheap, but for a fun night out of splurging, it was perfect!

They have a cool selection of books, and a lot of gift type things like tea, stuffed animals, bookmarks, art supplies, etc. I noticed the dinner menu and decided a cheeseburger sounded good. I ordered the Basecamp cheeseburger with bacon and a side salad. You can apparently order food upstairs and then sit upstairs or downstairs (or outside, I think). They have table service as well, after 4pm. Service was very friendly and patient. I decided to eat downstairs, and there was a cozy bar and large seating area. My burger soon arrived and it was delicious! A great toasted bun and a wonderfully substantial and beefy patty. The cheese was rich and gooey. Great, yummy combination of flavors. The salad was good too, with a nice ranch dressing on the side. A cool place that made me feel welcome and served up a great burger.

We saw one table actually leave after waiting longer than us without their food because they had somewhere else to be. Not great. Once the food finally arrived we were so hungry that I'm certain anything would have tasted good. We didn't complain or ask but they did remove one soda from the tab.
