The food is FANTASTIC!! Quality and freshness you can't beat. You can tell the chef is a foodie and takes no short cuts. An oasis of overcooked eggs served Luke warm .... I mean, everyone else's meals looked decent but not ours (I'm guessing Uncle John was not their favorite uncle) . As the other customers who came in after us got seated and ordered after us, ate and finished before we got our meals. I think they forgot about us and then our food was lukewarm at best. First restaurant for us to sit inside since re-opening. Couldn't have been a better experience! We found parking easily outside and luckily were seated immediately. Each table has a little heater on the table to help stay warm with the door having to stay open. Service was prompt and friendly! We enjoyed the Cafe burger, Lamb burger, tomato soup and fries. We all finished our meals. The lamb burger was especially tasty! The fires were plentiful, crisp, big and delicious! Bloody Mary and a beer for our beverages. Nothing disappointed. Pretty good food, but definitely left disappointed. There was a 25% required gratuity which was not given as a warning prior. Coming from Los Angeles, where food is more expensive, this seemed way too high for what it was. Our food for 3 people including a couple beers ended up being more than 80 dollars. I don't blame the servers for this, management needs to either lower this rate or atleast give a heads up on the menu. If it was truly good service, people would tip nicely rather than forcing people to tip. Hopefully management can fix this to avoid awkward encounters between customers and the waiters. read more

Wait was way too long for only 6 people in the restaurant. I sat at the bar as the only patron seated there and waited approximately 15 minutes before I could order. So as not to overwhelm the clearly already overwhelmed kitchen and staff, I chose the finish my beer and take my business elsewhere today. It was sad for me since I have enjoyed their food and service so many wonderful times before. This will not be last time I give it a try since I do reside in this beautiful town. We enjoy going "full blown tourist" in our own backyard and Roslyn was no exception. We stopped in at the Roslyn Cafe of Northern Exposure fame for an early lunch and we're pleasantly surprised by the service and the food! Sometimes you just never know about those "touristy" type places, but the Roslyn café was pretty dang good. I had the frittata with a super fresh, super good green salad with the balsamic dressing and my wife had the simple two egg breakfast with a really excellent potatoes and sausage! The food coming out of the kitchen for other guests looked amazing as well. Definitely worth a stop! read more

Our group wanted to try a new spot for lunch on our trip across the pass in Roslyn, it's only fitting that it be the Roslyn Cafe. The service was not fast and felt slightly passive, but during the lunch rush it is to be expected. From the outside, this place looks like it would have a diner menu, but it's quite elaborate than what you may expect. I was eager to try the watermelon salad with visions of a bed of fresh leafy greens and chunks of watermelon throughout. You could imagine my surprise when just two slices of watermelon topped with avocado came out, no wonder the waitress made a face when I asked for dressing on the side. For $12, this was an overpriced elaborate appetizer. It was tasty, but left me hungry and unfortunately the fries weren't too good either. When leaving, I noticed a mom had ordered the same thing, but had ditched her salad for half her son's grilled cheese. All in all, the Roslyn Cafe seems to be a novelty to the town, it has nice interior decorating. Perhaps the menu is too broad and deserves to be cut back to up other items quality. I was craving some great chicken sandwich so I made a stop here. Took about 45 mins to get seated and I waited for about an hour for my food (maybe they are understaffed??but definitely come here if you're not on the rush to leave the area) the cafe wasn't super busy when I got there. The fried chicken sandwich was delicious! I love the fried chicken breast; lots of flavor and it was still crispy when I got my order. I am almost tempted to ask if I can just order the fried chicken breasts with fries lol but overall I would order this again! Way better than Popeye's I think! Stopped by this little town on the way to the Gorge and so glad we did! Roslyn Cafe is a local joint that serves delicious food, warm food. I had the brie and mushroom burger and it was delicious! I loved every bite of it. Glad that I got a salad on the side because the burger itself was large and not sure if I could have finished all the fries that come with it. Boyfriend got the "banh mi" burger which he enjoyed with a side of perfectly golden fries. Finished every last bite with no regrets. The only thing is that we're not sure that this "banh mi" burger really was "banh mi-esque." Had the Vietnamese flavors with the fish sauce, pickled cabbage, and chicken pate, but personally I thought it reminded me of another Vietnamese dish, not really of any banh mi I've ever had - maybe the difference of meat and pickled veggies? But it is their own version and my boyfriend said that the flavors still worked well! All the other dishes on people's tables looked great and really large. The only negative: do not come here if you are in a rush! We waited for a table for a little bit since the location is small, but waited even longer (30+ minutes) for our food. read more

I am giving all 3 stars to the burgers (they were good) but no stars to the service or hosting. There were 4 empty tables (only one clean). We waited app. 15 mins to sit to one of these. The host was not friendly. The waitress, at first, was also not happy to see us. Someone wrote top notch service to this place, which makes me think maybe they don't have a standard service- somedays it is good some days not. Not sure why. Didn't get a chance to try the food - the host was beyond rude immediately upon entering myself and my partner were absolutely stunned. Understanding when we came in, it was a Sunday afternoon on Mothers Day - things are busy. We asked to do a takeout order and were shut down it the most blunt and unpleasant manner. DONT advertise order in or take out on a sign on your sidewalk and then not even give us an ETA for how long it could take? We would have waited or made our own decision. Wow, really surprised at the excellent and innovative selection of american-asain fusion lunch foods here. Bahn mi burgers, Singapore noodle salad, Thai seafood chowder, etc. We were up in the mountains playing in the snow with the kids and out of town guests from China. We stopped here because we wanted to show them an old "cowboy" town. Every thing was very good, and everyone very happy. So nice to find Asian influenced dishes when out on the road. read more

Disappointment abounds when it comes to the formerly famous Roslyn Cafe. Of course we were drawn to this location because of former ties in with Northern Exposure - but I guess I was expecting something completely different - as in expecting a decent meal. Currently the location is dealing with COVID-19 precautions and seating is spaced out. Nothing really spectacular about the menu. Standard cafe fare. My wife had the Cesar Salad - romaine was wilted and partially brown with massive anchovies just thrown on the top. I had the bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado sandwich with a side salad. The avocado had ZERO flavor and was hard. The kids had the house burger which was decent. FYI - refills on iced tea are NOT free and the staff will not tell you as such - hence my surprise when I was charged another $1.95. Roslyn has some sparks - this is no longer one of them. Should be 0 stars, but yelp doesn't let me. I walked in today (9/30/22) @ around 7-8pm. Place looked half full. Immediate concerned stares by lady at the front and some diners. I then realized in some parts of the country there are people that aren't used to seeing people who are brown. The hint of prejudice was very familiar. I asked the lady at the front if they do takeout orders and without missing a beat she said no. I copied the restaurant's website below: "The Roslyn Cafe is open for Indoor Dining, Outdoor Seating & takeout orders!!" Great restaurant in the small town of Roslyn. The staff was great and so was the food. I had the biscuits and sausage gravy, my wife had the regular breakfast and both meals were great. If you get the biscuits and gravy order a sausage patty on the side my wife's breakfast came with a sausage patty and she doesn't eat meat with breakfast so I had it with my meal and it was a great addition. read more

An amazing dining location hidden away in plain sight. The food was really good and served in good sized portions so bring your appetite with you if you visit. The interior and exterior decor maintain the rustic mining town look of the early 1900's, adding to the over experience while visiting the town of Roslyn. I've gone here easily 20+ times over many years, and if there's one business in town that can't handle the weekend rush/haven't learned during the pandemic; it's the owners. They'll happily seat you, but they won't pick up the phone, no matter how many time you call, and if you drive down they won't let you take out!! EVEN IF THE PLACE IS HALF EMPTY. I've even come in during lunch asking for take out anytime before dinner and they still refused my service, but they'll seat me! Unplug your phone if you're never going to answer it. You're closed during the middle of the week, and ordering fri-sun is impossible. This place was banned in my household due to repeated diarrhea, but they've been better recently. read more

I like this place, they offer great coffee, and each time I've visited the owner has been cooking for us. We will cruise over early to avoid the heat, breakfast options may be a little limited, but better to be good at what you offer, than to offer anything else. I've found Roslyn in general to be a little slower paced, I can understand, being a Seatleite it was difficult at first. I've enjoyed a few of their omelets, pretty darn tasty, and today their biscuits n gravy totally hit the spot. For the few that watched tv years ago, kinda cool to remember the days of Northern Exposure, kinda filmed here. Relax, slow down, and enjoy a visit here, recommended. read more

Very nice and clean little restaurant. We went for breakfast. I had the logger omelet with home potatoes and sourdough toast. Lots of veggies and local sausage used in it. Very good. I thought the home potatoes were probably some of the best seasoned breakfast potatoes I've had. I must have caught them on a bad day. Went on a Friday at lunch during a busy time. We ordered a burger, chicken sandwich, and the kids had pb&j and a burger ($56+tip). Couldn't believe pb&j was $9 and my son wouldn't even eat it due to the bread being sort of stale"ish". It took about an hour to get our food and the tables were really crammed together. Hardly enough room for me to sit with someone directly behind me. BTW the guy behind me ordered fish and chips and it smelled overly fishy in a bad way. Food was meh. Fries were not crisp. They almost tasted like air fried but for too long. Sorry to be negative but we deserve honest reviews. Better luck for your visit maybe. read more
