My daughter just graduated college, and we had the party planned for last Saturday. Long story short......my phone died while at the Cubs game on Friday. Woke up downtown on Saturday to a message that the place I had planned to cater from couldn't do it (nice....but that's for another review). I called Pete's. Becky in Customer Service couldn't have been more accommodating. This place is incredible - I really wish we had a Pete's in So Cal! Picked up all the food (even had fresh baked rolls right out of the oven). I had a lot of family asking where I catered from. I told them the story (and found out the place I was originally going to cater from has gone DOWNHILL in quality - so everything happens for a reason). All I can say is the food was INCREDIBLE. Mostaccioli with marinara sauce, sausage and peppers, Italian sliced beef, broasted chicken - amazing! I'm fairly certain Pete's has won my family's catering needs. At least I hope so!! She was in there for over SEVEN minutes. The box was small, you could hold it in one hand. She comes out and says you can get in line now. I ask "I have to get in line? It was over 15 people in line, one cashier, one worker waiting for this manager to come out of the office and then they both go back into the office. I get in line and 10 minutes later the green hair manager comes out as I finally made it to the cashier and ask me for my ID (that I had showed her when I showed her my pick up email and paid bar code). I asked her name she said I'm not giving you my name. I said if I had to get in line why didn't you tell me that before you we t into that room. She huffed and puffed and took her green hair back into that office. She appears to have a strong hold on the other workers there because they too would not give me her name. The selection was minimal, practically empty. I wanted to buy some charger plates, there was a man by the fitting room looking like he would tackle you and a weird lady walking around made me very nervous. The value of items was Ross expected. I'm leaving out because I put the charger plates back and the security looks at you in a way that makes me feel that I will never stop at. this location again. Just close the store if you have to subject people to this type of scrutiny. Very disappointed.

You get the occasional great find like a pair of DKNY jeans or Calvin Klein dress for virtually nothing but you have to sort through a whole lot of junk to do it. If you just want cheap stuff even cheaper, Ross can be useful. My issue with this particular Ross is the odd ratio of security to actual sales staff. I have twice had to put things down and walk out because there was only one cashier to ring up purchases, a long line, and three security guards standing around the front of the store staring. That gets on my nerves because while Ross as a chain seems freakishly preoccupied with theft prevention (God only knows why as they sell very little worth stealing), that kind of egregious nonsense seems to only be reserved for certain communities.

I visited Big Time Clothing on 11/05/2019 and put a shirt on layaway because they did not have my…read moresize. I wear a 2x but the customer assistant informed me they run small and suggested a 3x. She put in a request for that shirt. The shirt was $109.99 before tax which was quite expensive for a shirt so I was confident the assistant knew what she was doing. The customer assistant lady was very nice. I came and picked up the shirt on 12/03/2019 and completed the purchase of the shirt. $120.44 total. When I put the shirt on which was selected for a photo shoot, it did not fit in the neck...too small. Extremely disappointed I had to change my outfit for the photograph, I attempted to return the shirt on 01/05/2020 and at first was told I could do so by the same lady but I had to purchase something in the store with the credit. I has spent some time and had already picked out a few items when the service lady told me her boss said to not give me the credit for the return and to come back in and speak with them. I am disabled and 65 years old and it takes a lot out of me to get around. I am flabbergasted the this business would treat me in this manner. I now want full credit for this shirt that does not fit and want nothing else out of this store. All of the sizes are all mixed up as they are not made in America. I seen one sweater that was a size 5x but I could tell it would fit me. Proper Courtesy might have gotten them a good customer.
