This is a very large Ross department store. It has a little bit of everything. Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays are their busiest days. The lines to check out are extremely long, but you get really good values. Returns are very easy also. The cashiers work really hard and do a great job. Came to this Ross yesterday with friends because one of my friends was looking for some joggers. I showed her that the hoodie I'm wearing I bought recently from a different Ross location and she got excited to hopefully find something similar. We perused the aisles but unfortunately didn't find what she was looking for. The joggers they have are really thin material. We even looked in the men's section and still nothing thick enough so I guess they are phasing into summer clothes now. Overall I feel that this Ross location is pretty clean and well kept, it's steadily busy and they have allot of things to choose from. My favorite is going to the pet section to buy something for my dog. I found a really nice ball set that she will like for only 5 dollars so I got her that. My friends found a couple other things they liked. When we went to the line it moved pretty quickly for us, there were only two cashiers but we really didn't wait long. In the end when you are leaving there is a staff at the door who checks the receipts and marks it with a highlighter just like at costco. read more

I also like how they have a bigger selection of women's shoes in size 5-5.5 and they seem to have more XS at this location too. Decided to come to this Ross as I was looking for a few random items. My mom was able to find some shoes but that was about it. The Ross is pretty big but I feel like the aisle are really small and there's soo much stuff that it feels packed, but if you're willing to look through everything you'll probably find some cute stuff. Not sure why all the negative reviews. For anyone who has been to a Ross or a Marshall's or a Burlington or anything akin to this type of store, it's pretty much what you'd expect. You have a bunch of low cost clothes broken down into sections, then shoes, exercise equipment, a smattering of furniture or home goods and then a mish mash of other random things. Sure it's disorganized and messy. Sure the inventory is hit or miss. Ultimately the fun is digging for value. If you go in expecting to find something versus just enjoying the hunt, then naturally you'll be disappointed. If you just go with no expectations and just being pleasantly surprised when you do find something then that's the joy of these stores. I stopped by this Ross tonight to get a picture frame. I figure they would have some nice selections here and they wouldnt be as expensive. This Ross is in the plaza where Northridge Fashion Square is but they were not busy tonight. I was able to find parking just fine. When I walked inside the store, they have someone standing there to greet you and also check receipt when you leave. There was a lot of people inside the store and the store isn't as organized. I knew the pictures frame would be toward the back and found what I was looking for. The issue I had was when checking out because the line was long and they only had 2 cashier working mostly. They had a 3rd cashier but she kept stopping helping customer to talk to another worker about something. There were other employees too but they were putting items throughout the store so it basically just made paying for our items slow. They charge for bags here so be aware or bring your own bag like I did. read more

RUDE AND UNEDUCATED SALES LADY AT ROSS NORTHRIDGE.... 10am in the morning days before Christmas, I decided to have a fun day shopping with my daughter for her and her friends. I saw a cute jacket on the racks, that one of the employees put out to organize, that would be perfect for my daughter's friend. Then all of a sudden, I hear this demanding voice with a rude tone behind me saying, "Let her get it! Let her do her thing!" Which had me confused, because I was just picking up an item. She was trying to get me "out of their way" but I wasn't even rummaging through the rack! I just tried to grab one item! I couldn't get at first what was she trying to tell me. Until I got it after. She should have told me nicely in the first place that they are still working on that clothing rack. You don't want these rude people working for you, there's always better people that can be replaced by them. They were laughing in our face, talking to themselves about us, and overall just a rude experience I was not expecting for holiday shopping. I spoke to the manager, William, and complained to him about her. He was just nodding to my explanation, I did not feel like I was being heard. William said he will speak to her about this. I asked if they even do customer service training. He said they do it right when they get hired, I responded that customer service training should be annual, because this attitude is unacceptable. They should hire people who have a good customer service and say things kindly like, "Oh, sorry miss, but we are organizing that rack, thank you!" This lady should be fired because she is not suitable for this job. When we were leaving the store, I looked back and the manager was LAUGHING at us with another customer. This should be taken seriously because there is always a crazier customer who would've acted worse than me towards her. I hope one day she encounters a crazy customer, and she gives them the same attitude as she gave me, and that customer gives her what she deserves. If I could give a minus zero stars, I would for an extremely bad customer service worst than a trash. The night cashier treats people like a trash. I can't believe that we can get this treatment in the United States. Very extremely disrespectful cashier calls me out before she finishes with the previous customer and she put us both at stress because she just wants to leave home. When I backed off as the customer wasn't still ready, the cashier kept on shouting at me "do you want a bag, do you want a bag..." when I approached the register she was fueled of tension and anger that would wire the world with anger blasting at me saying are you paying with cash or card, are you paying with cash or card, repeating with anger.... It wasn't even time to pay she was just ringing the stuff and then when when I answered card, she didn't hear me and she started making aufull facial expressions spreading all of her negative energy around me. This place is just awful. The staff is terrible. I didn't see a price,the Ross price tag, on a Harley Windbreaker I found. There were a few other Harley items that ranged from 9.99 to 14.99 which included a nice denim hoody jacket. I found a worker putting away mens shoes and asked her what the price was. She took the windbreaker and tried to find something similar. She came back with a 5x Harley button up shirt and told me to show the cashier that tag so she could ring me up. When I went to pay I told the overweight hispanic 50 something cashier what the staff told me. She said "No thats not right. This is the tag. Which was 39.95. When I told her "no thats the original tag" She got the security girl wearing her wannabe bullet proof vest, They made me feel like I was trying to pull one over on them. I had some time to kill before my Dr appointment yesterday, so I popped in here. Its still a hot mess, with merchandise scattered everywhere, and a bunch of clothes no one really wants to buy. I needed a new frying pan and I found that for a great price. I also got the bog bottle of color shield fructis shampoo for 3.99 its 5.99 in the regular stores. The lines are always long, but there were plenty of cashiers open, and moved at a decent pace. I am not one to really write bad reviews but my experience here was just INSULTING. I have serve scoliosis and cannot stand for long periods of time because it causes me pain. Because of this I had asked the security in front if I was able to skip line. He was very kind and said he would have someone help me at a register. I work at a reseller and I have NEVER been more humiliated, uncomfortable, embarrassed, gas lighted, and infuriated as I was today. I arrived at Ross on 19330 Plummer St. Northridge, CA 91324, just after 9am this morning. I anticipate racially motivated behavior as I have lived a little and understand how certain demographics operate. At about 12:15pm I decided to go to the restroom. At this point I've noticed several employees casually putting items back either in my aisle or an adjacent one. I proceed into the restroom assuming they are on their earpieces communicating and watching me to ensure I'm not stealing anything. 5 minutes after sitting down there were about 2 or 3 separate knocks on the stall door. It's locked, there are feet you can see. After about 15 minutes in (high protein diet lol), I hear a woman's voice stating, "Hello? Excuse me!" clearly trying to gain my attention. Perplexed that a woman is in the restroom as I'm defecating, I respond uncomfortably, "Yes?" ***CAMERA RECORDING STARTED*** Here we go...She then states there are people waiting for the restroom. I respond, "Ok, well they are going to have to wait,. Are you serious? This is ridiculous!" She presses on, "You've been in here 30 minutes and there are 3 people waiting." I'm completely at a loss for words. It's bad enough I'm in here, at a public place, using the restroom. Perturbed, I said, "Lady, are you going to take me off the pot yourself? She said, "no." I quickly said, "OK, BYE!" Then I double down. "RIDICULOUS!" Her response verbatim, "SHUT THE F UP!" As she exits the restroom. At that point I didn't even respond. I wanted her to think about how stupid she sounded. I asked for the name of the woman, Stephanie. I proceed to the front. In actuality, I know what this is. They've been watching me and this is Stephanie's opportunity to flex her perceived power on me. I get to the front and ask one of the young ladies for a manager. She stated she was the manager and I asked for her name. Sure enough, that was Stephanie. I said, "Oh, you're the one that just told me to shut the F up in the men's restroom." She says, "Because you called me a whore!" WHAT!?!? I don't even talk like that. Never mind you were arguing with me in the MEN'S RESTROOM while my pants were down. You see a, who you think is young black man, in your store and you go to all the old predictable tropes. I was aggressive. I was using foul language, etc. I'm laughing inside because I recorded the whole thing. I just left and went back down the aisle to continue my shopping. Now have to leave the store due to speaking to the employees disrespectfully. "Ok, fine. I'll leave, but you're going to call the cops first." I go to the front, set my cart aside, and sit near the entrance waiting for the police to arrive. 5 mins go by and I tell him that I'd like to pay for my items and leave as I just spend 3+ hours shopping. "The district manager has been notified and police are on their way so we are past that point." I sit back down. _ sat there another 10 mins. Eventually the second guy came over to me and said that Stephanie was willing to give ME a final chance to let this go before the cops showed up. I laughed and said, "Ok, that was a wise decision." He personally checked me out on register #3. I spent over $1200 and I wasn't even done shopping but just wanted to leave this place. After I finished paying I walked over to the store managers sign, took at picture of her contact information, and came straight home to write this review and email it directly. I get plenty of racism. It's never at TJMaxx, never at DD's, never at Marshall's, for some reason, it's ALWAYS at ROSS when it happens! All they see is skin color, get in their feelings and this is the result. This was one of the craziest experiences I've had in my 3 years as a reseller. I will NEVER be back to this store.
