I was greeted by two people when I came in which was awesome. I found a pair of cute cheetah print knee high boots which were misplaced in the wrong size. I almost bought them but then saw that they were a size 9 and not a six lol. I tried them on and they felt nice on my legs and foot but I could tell they were too big. I also saw that one of my ex high school Spanish student was working here. She smiled at me and I smiled back. It was a good experience even though I didn't end up buying the boots there since they were in the wrong size. I was able to get the style name though and found them online. They were on sale for 39.99 so very good value. I have bought day of the dead decorations here previously. I think the new management is better here than at other Ross stores. read more

I'm not going to lie, this is my favorite store to spend all my money in. Great selection of stuff you need, don't need, shouldn't buy, but do anyway. This is the store to go to for all your toy buying needs. Same toy next door easily $10 more. Ross is similar to going on a treasure hunt... you never know what deals you may find, or what could be lurking around the corner on the next aisle. The restrooms are disgusting and gross, and they really should do more to keep them clean. The line can get very long, and at times would be nice if they would call for additional cashiers sooner. Don't forget you cannot take the carts outside, so bring your bags and be ready to haul your purchases to your car in hand. read more

LOVE coming to this Ross. I'm telling you guys they always have the best savings and a good selection. I always come on weekdays, which I highly recommend, because that is when they get new inventory/shipment! On weekends it is usually very busy and most of the good stuff is already gone. They already have some Christmas stuff in, as well as blankets, boots and even ugg boots sometimes!! I already started my Christmas shopping there. I love Ross! Don't get me wrong! But I feel like buying them a sign that they need to put at the front door for all customers to read as they go through..... YOUR MOTHER IS NOT HERE SO PUT BACK WHAT YOU TAKE OUT, & PICK UP WHAT YOU DROP ON THE FLOOR! What is it about your average customer that can go in say Target next door and find the ability to replace a shoe where they found it or put a shirt back in the same place but if they are in Ross they think they can pull it out and put it back where ever?? When I walk through any Ross doors I need to reeeally be in the same mood that I have to be in to go to a garage sale or swam meet or second hand store! There is a mentality of not just shopping but hunting that you have to switch over to! If I am in a mood to just shop, I don't go to Ross. A year or two ago, something happened to that store. It seemed more organized and a pleasure to shop at. I even complimented the manager asking if someone new had taken over. Sloooowly, it seems to have fallen back into the same disarray that it had been in before. Ross gets 5 stars for great deals but minus 3 for always being a mess. I blame the customers for 50% off the mess and the staff for the other half! Target seems to be able to stay clean and organized. Just compare bathrooms! Ross either needs more staff or better delegation! I would opt to shop and have use the restrooms at Target 99% more of the time than Ross! read more

Not bad, not great. I normally ALWAYS find items I want at Ross but this particular store had nothing that moved me at a price I was willing to pay. They had some gorgeous velvet purple chairs I liked, but I'm not willing to spend $85 on a chair so it stayed in the store. The restrooms were clean but had no soap despite the "cleaning log" at the door stating it had been refilled an hour ago. Boo. read more

This Ross,was ok, not great & it is next to a 99 cent store, So that attracts a sub par crowd to some extent. I had to walk around bums backpacks & cr as p to get into the store. When I needed a single accessory, a belt, I was in luck. Nicely greeted by the doorman who pointed to the general area for belts. Then I searched a bit, and a polite lady in that area pointed to the exact location. I located what I needed, at a very nice price I must say, I proceeded to checkout. Check out was easy and the cashier was quite cheerful. What's all the beef? Its a discount store, and it has good prices, and it works for me. read more

I am not a huge fan of Ross to begin with but for the most part, they keep it clean. Today as I was walking towards the door they had a large sign that stated masks were required to enter the store. Not a problem for me since I was walking in with it on but I noticed immediately most people were not wearing a mask. You had an Assistant Manager posted close to the door and not even saying anything. Even the guy that walked in before me wearing a mask took it off when he realized that no one was saying anything. I approached the assistant manager as I felt uncomfortable with people coughing all over the place and asked her if they were not following the ordinance why did they have the sign outside. She was rather rude and condescending as she stated to me that it is not a law and they cannot enforce it. I did not even continue to shop and simply walked out. Even Walmart has better customer service and is making more of an effort. Lost my business for sure. read more

This Ross is the biggest clusterfuck I've ever seen in my life... They sell tons of large items but won't let you bring a cart out to your car, instead Rudely act like ...well you're just gonna have to make a couple trips... When you have kids and you need to buy items you shouldn't have to be schlepping stuff in numerous trips out to your car... if they don't want to provide customers with carts they need to have someone there to help you to your car with large items. What is it about Ross that brings out the crude manners in its customers (like throwing clothes on the floor rather than putting them back on the rack)? Here's my personal theory: Unlike most other places, Ross posts a jackbooted security guard in the store. The guard makes you feel like you're in some sort of ghetto. And, when you're in a slum, you behave as the vulgar denizens do. In any case, if you can get pass the haphazard piles of stuff insolently strewn about the store, there are actually some good bargains to be had at this place. read more

Sure it's cheap shopping. But their racks are pretty bare most of the time. Selection sucks. Not everyone wears skinny jeans and leggings. Some of us just want normal, regular jeans, but they never carry them. They only have super trendy, decorated, embroidered, designed shirts and the shortest shorts and skirts. Why are all the awesome Ross stores far away from home? Maybe it's because the styles they carry at home seem repetitive after a while. I feel like when we forget to pack something on a trip and we stop in a Ross for a cheap sweatshirt, or sandals, or whatever the item... the stores we find on the road have the greatest stuff! Ross in Paso was no exception. My husband needs some black, cotton socks in his stocking. Nothing fancy. Found a great 6-pack of Puma ones for $9.99. Perfect. Two pairs of shoes ($19.99 and $36.99) caught his eye and I said Santa would be nice and get those too. Then he found some awesome Adidas pants ($24.99) and I put them in my cart with a warning about how Santa doesn't like greedy boys. As we walked to the semi-long line I saw a shirt that I couldn't live without. A perfect shirt for work!! I tried it on, along with one other, and got both for $10 each. I can't believe how cute they are!! The line moved quickly and even though my cashier didn't speak much as she rang up my $145, she wasn't rude. Not friendly, but not rude. I'd be stoked to stop back in next time I'm in that area! I would remember to bring my own bag (which I'm good about at home), since they have a small fee for plastic bags here. WORST ROSS EVER. Customer service is terrible, TERRIBLE! First off the store is decent, its a Ross, not much to expect from them. But I must say this one has the worst customer service. Which is what this review is about. I got in line and the woman in front of me got called to a second register a girl had just walked up to (a girl was already at a front register assisting someone). The woman started complaining that she was conversing while she was waiting in line, the fact that the girl in front took another person in front of her who just walked up (had a return). And I was like man, sucks for that girl, this lady seems like a B. About 5 minutes into waiting my three year old started being, well a three year old. And after about 10 minutes (Same people being helped) the woman with a return walked away and literally at the same moment a girl walked into the return line. The girl in front (not the one being bitched at) looks at me with my acting up three year old (no expression except RUDE on her face) and looks at the other lady and waves her to the register. SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As I began to realize what the customer in front of me was complaining about and my three year old became more and more anxious (5 minutes more had passed) I began to get irritated and left. I decided they weren't worthy of my 15 dollars. Can I just say that I understand this is probably the stores policy for whatever ridiculous reason (it should ALWAYS be first come first serve), but this girl could have at least said sorry or something instead of her rude I hate my job look. Friendly helpful staff up front, but the lady at the fitting rooms is the worst customer service associate I have EVER encountered. And that is taking into account about four decades of shopping and three decades in retail and hospitality industries. I never write reviews, don't like to vent online and though I don't shop at Ross often, and rarely if ever use the fitting rooms....this experience was the worst and no one should be treated so poorly. I was unfamiliar with their policy of allowing fitting room attendant to boss customers around, refuse to assist with hangers and clothes and repeatedly turn her back on customers and make customers wait on themselves while she socialized with former coworkers while customers followed her orders. WTH? Normally I am the most courteous, cooperative and friendly customer, but this lady, whose only efficiency is her skill in driving customers away, deserved none of that, nor her paycheck. ....today I felt literally demeaned and bullied by this employee and her cohorts (one who identified herself as her former manager who must have trained her to be rude and abrasive....and the other who laughed out loud when I said that it was the rudest service I had ever received.) Okay, so the best comment was from a fellow customer who said "I guess they better lower their prices if we have to do their work." It is hard to describe how rude this ROSS employee was but when I was In another store nearby still flustered and explained why....the manager of that store said, "Oh! I know what you are going to say!"....and then did a dead on impression of the rude treatment I was about to describe. Well, at least I know the offensive employee is consistent if nothing else. I told the fitting room attendant that I felt it was ridiculous that I had to do her job while she socialized.....(she ordered me put things back on hangers when I tried to hand them to her after trying them on) Her response? It isn't my job (more laughter!) Wow. I did receive an apology from the assistant manager, and the rest of the team at this store was great but one person who obviously hates her job needs to lose it. read more

I would actually give Ross no stars. I bought some items too heavy to carry out. Thinking I could roll them out in the cart, I was told cart won't fit through the door. No Ross employee volunteered or permitted to help me get items to car. I am handicapped. I was going to return items, but a customer was kind enough to carry them out for me. Mm ok. So obviously, it's Ross. A discount store. I don't expect much. Well, my boyfriend and I were passing through on our way to San Francisco today from L.A. and decided to stop for a tour of the Firestone Walker Brewery. Well when I got out to use the restroom I noticed my pants ripped! So embarrassing. Well right down the street is this Ross. Nice Ross, kept clean and have a pretty nice/good selection of clothes. HOWEVER! The minute we walked in we were eyed up and down by their loss prevention. Now, I understand he has to do his job but I just don't feel like we as a couple look like thieves! Haha so we go about our business, I try on my pants (which by the way exclude the very nice dressing room attendant who I didn't catch her name. So nice. She's awesome! Again, exclude her!) I decide to get 2 nice fitting ones and went to find my boyfriend who was browsing some shorts. Well I got sidetracked being a girl and all and went to the shoe dept. my boyfriend eventually found ME and told me we made really good time apparently and we had 2 hours to kill so we started leisurely looking around and all of a sudden every time we looked up the loss prevention guy was looking at us! At first I thought I was just being weird but then my boyfriend mentioned it and I couldn't ignore it. We went BACK to the shorts so my boyfriend could possibly find another pair of shorts and all of a sudden the loss prevention was RIGHT next to us "scanning" thru the shorts. Now, I've had friends whose family owned s loss prevention company and I know a little how the operate and he was TOTALLY checking up on us! Wtf! Whatever, again he has to do his job I guess. So we go to check out after a little more browsing and the girl at the counter couldn't be more uninterested in her job. We ended up getting 3 pairs of pants/shorts and a back pack for our touring of SF. I went to put our cart away and when I came back the girl just hands us our stuff.... Liiiiiikkkkke can I get a bag?! When I asked "can we have a bag?" She goes "uh they're $0.10" to which we just kind of stared at her because she didn't even offer according to my boyfriend. So we said "oooookay......" Like duh.why wouldn't you offer us a bag for all our stuff?! Needless to say their customer service SUCKS and I would have went to the target next door but their pants never fit me right. It was an emergency which is the ONLY reason we didn't leave. read more

So normally I love to shop in these kinds of stores, where you can expect to see nice products available for good-sized discounts. But here's my problem...this store makes me feel like I'm under suspicion for theft the minute I walk into it. Your first encounter when you walk in the store is with a uniformed security officer (very polite and greeted me, but still!), which made me wonder if perhaps this store attracts shoplifters and they need that level of protection. Then I find a couple of tops to try on, and take them back to the dressing room. First, I had to hang the tops on a rack so the sales associate could "search" them in order to make sure I didn't have anything else tucked inside them. I tried them on and brought them back, at which point I had to hang them on the rack to be searched A SECOND TIME, in order to make sure I was not shoplifting once again. Although I liked what I tried on, I decided to not purchase anything and instead went next door to Target, where I found something similar and was not treated like a felon. Bottom line, shopping here made me feel like I was under suspicion the whole time. If this is happening because of a theft issue, you have to ask yourself if you really want to be strolling the aisles with the kind of people Paso Robles Ross seems to feel like it needs to protect itself from.
