My Wife & Stepson recently visited the Ross store in Renton WA. on Landing Way 8/23/2025. After trying on several items in the dressing room my son discovered that he left behind his "Dre Beats" headphones. My wife reported it to a staff member and asked to review camera footage or speak with a manager, but the response she received was dismissive and no meaningful follow-up was offered. I'm disappointed by the lack of assistance and transparency. I don't know what happened to the headphones, but I know that when my Wife called she was told they would be up front. However, when we called the next day they were not. Making the excuse that the lady that she spoke to got the name (of the product) and color wrong. Which left me feeling that customer belongings aren't being taken seriously. I'm sharing this so others are careful with valuables while shopping here, and I hope management improves their loss-prevention procedures and responsiveness. Barley any inventory. Not to mention the parking lot security. Upon leaving I dropped my daughter off at her car with my hazards on and enough room for cars to pass, and security decided to pull up behind me continuously honking at me. I asked what his problem was and he stated he was doing his job. My question is why not get out of your car and ask what is going on instead of honking like a maniac.?? Usually I like Ross but this one is over baring with loss prevention. One time I walked in on a semi rainy day with an umbrella and got looked at like I "stole it". I've seen other people harassed for so called "stealing" when they were just trying to look at the items. This store is often messy and has gotten quite dirty and some what run down over the years. Several places installed a wait area to make people get detected by their ai system before entering. 1 This deters customers and makes them think they're a thief before entering and 2 This is a great way to make people go else where. During covid years I wouldn't of minded that as many places had a line but not now years later when it's over and now just considered a normal cold virus in society. I've experienced some odd clientele here as well and this too has made me think twice before coming here. Not all but many parents just let their kids play with the merch on the shelves then look at the clerks like they're not going to pick it up and saw the manager for kicking her out then she complained about it. Kudos for standing up to this. I've witness customers being heavily disrespectful by pawing through items then just throwing it on the floor instead of putting items back. The rug section is horrid for this. Customers have a habit of blocking the aisle and refuse to move even if you ask them to.... Customers at this location eventually lost the right to use the bathroom and is now boarded up and painted over where the door should be. I thought it was required by law to have a restroom for business that had nth number of customers and they qualify for this. Just odd things like this don't make me want to shop at Ross. Especially at this location. The price is right but not for the experience. read more

Tonight i went to this Ross and paid cash for my items which was $71.66 so I gave this cashier $100.01 which my change would've been $28.35. She looked at me because I gave her a penny and she then slammed my change on the counter so disrespectfully it was honestly the craziest customer service experience I have ever experienced at Ross. The manager came and she was also disrespectful and unprofessional. No wonder this store is trashed and not taken care of appropriately. If I could give this store zero stars, I would. My son and I spent $400 plus yesterday on school clothes only to have personal property stolen potentially by a store associate. While trying on a sweatshirt in the isle, my son removed his Beats by Dre headphones and left them on top of the clothing rack. When we got home he noticed that he left them. I called the store immediately. The associate I spoke with asked me to describe the headphones and she said that someone turned them in. Relieved, I asked her to hold on to them for me and I can get them the following day. As my fiance prepared to head to the store today, I called the store again. But this time I was told that the headphones weren't there. I called Renton Police Dept. to help me make sense of what transpired. The associate told the police that she got the color wrong and that it was a miscommunication. I'm not sure what to feel or think, but I do know that yesterday they had the headphones but today they do not. This will be a huge lesson for my son about holding on to his things and the level of dishonesty that exists in these corporations. read more

I never have issues so not sure why the bad reviews. This Ross is pretty messy once the day gets going and the whole waiting at the door for "security" reasons is weird but I've been to worse. I've seen employees restocking and trying to organize the shelves as much as possible. I always get really good deals here but do wish they would try to fill the shelves a bit more. I will say that if you can go as soon as they open, that's the best time to go to this Ross. read more

Horrible staff, non-existent customer service. We went here on a week day just after opening and were asked to wait before we could come in and mind you you can count how many customers are at the store. The young lady who rang us had a smirk and looked miserable. No smile or hello. About 2 ft away is the security who literally saw the few clothing items that we bought but still checked the shopping bag. My friend and I were the only one at the register, mind you. Bae and I were doing errands around The Landing, so decided to check out Ross Dress for Less for their home goods, as we needed to get new scented candles for the pad. But is it just me or do most Ross stores feel depressing when you walk in it? At least, that was the feeling I had when I visited this Renton location. I don't know if it's the bright fluorescent lighting or the random items on the floor throughout the store that clearly needs to be picked up and stocked to where it belongs, but this location desperately needs a revamp. It was untidy and dirty, with limited stock, which is even more surprising. I walked over to the back of the store where the home items were, and did not find many candles. Instead, I found misplaced items and empty carts in the middle of the aisles and just litter all over the place. What gives? Not the best shopping experience. read more

My son was injured while trying on a shoe due to a security pin that had fallen inside. The incident was poorly managed by the supervisor, and none of the staff showed any sympathy, except for one security team member, Melissa. The experience left my son traumatized and limping from the pain. We left a note for the store manager, who had left for the day, but we have yet to receive any response. read more

If you're a woman DO NOT GO HERE. Period. Unless you want to have their male security guard snap his fingers at you and tell you to hurry up. My brother and I came in at 9:46 pm on 7/14/23 just to grab something, in and out. They close at 10 pm so we had no choice but to make it quick. The security guard told us no entry and we told him that closing isn't for another 14 mins. He then snapped his fingers at me and told me to make it quick. How degrading to snap your fingers at a woman and tell them to make it quick. I don't know nor do I care where this man is from and what flys over there, but over here, you will never snap your fingers at me. When checking out at 9:52 pm another man entered the store and he didn't even bat one eye at him coming in. When I called him out in front of the gal checking us out, he didn't have any words to say. When my brother and I said "oh so you're not going to snap your fingers at him and tell him to make it quick" it was crickets. Shout out to the gal who was checking us out for apologized to us for our shitty experience. I wish I would've gotten the security guard's name but if I would've gotten any closer I would've popped off even more. I think ONE PERSON and ONE experience RUINS it for "all of them." I am not going to put down a store and say I expect LESS from Ross. My fav store is Nordstrom Rack just for any sort of reference of where i shop the most. But you know what now and then I go to Ross to see what there is ESPECIALLY while pregnant because i can get some very low price prego clothing. I went in recently, getting to the point. Went to try on clothes, the person back there was finishing a conversation with a co-worker who was behind a door and after a minute told me 'hand up your clothes' Pointed. Then kept talking. I was sOOO ANNOYED. I told her, 'you know you could have said that instead of finishing a conversation and then telling me.' I told her what she did was rude. The cashier that I had was incompetent and rung up my purchases in a way that makes no sense at all which is causing my return to be a nightmare. While waiting for the manager to REVIEW VIDEO FOOTAGE to ensure I actually purchased the item the same cashier failed to remove the security device from 2 different customers ... I spend thousands of dollars here a year. My daughter bought the wrong size shoes for my Grandbaby. I went to do an exchange today and they totally declined me after taking my ID and entering it and realizing the tag was not on the item. The checker pushed my stuff forward after declining me and asked me to hand that item she pushed off the edge up. I simply declined and the customer behind began to call me out of my name stating I need to be Better and nicer calling me a bitch and a hoe and also called me out of my race which is not white . Well it was none of his business and the havoc my grandchild gave us for the wrong since shoe was not to his understanding. I went thru the whole exchange process and they declined me! of course I'm not gonna be happy or nice. But I still purchased the shoes. Yes, yes, yes. I know that Ross is not the place you come to for stellar customer service. This is bargain shopping, where you have to sometime look hard to find some gems. But this has to be the shittiest Ross I've ever been to. My goodness, it's obvious that the people working here just don't care at all. I used to work for Ross a couple of years ago, so I know what is supposed to be done and they aren't doing it. The management is poor, which is why this store is in the condition its in. The day I was there, there was clothes and shoes all over the floor and they stayed there the whole time I shopped. I saw a couple of employees just standing around socializing amidst all the mess. If I could give this place no stars i would. While I do like ross I hate this location. In a nutshell, it is the new Renton Walmart....stuff is everywhere but never where its supposed to be, kids running around like animals, associates avoiding customers...its terrible. I went in to grab some small kitchen utensils and when I went to go check out, only one cashier who had 7 people in her line. Finally one more lady came up and started playing some goo goo gaga game with a baby in the cart of the people she was assisting in front of me for a good 5 minutes. Finally when she got to me, she goes "where is your stuff" I'm just staring at her like "its on the counter top..." She flusters through the whole transaction, complaining about how she wants to go home, yada yada, then tosses my glass cup into a plastic bag banging it up against the counter top, THEN she piles my other items on top of it....looks up and says "do you want this double bagged?" i say yes so then she proceeds to knock the glass a few more times against the counter top as she fumbles to put one bag into another... I don't come here for the customer service, if I want to get stellar service, I would be at Nordstrom, but I come here for the cheap deals. I understand whatever they have out on the floor is all they carry so I don't expect any help finding my size or seeing if they have a certain item in another color. No, I know it's going to be a mission going through racks and racks of clothes to get some decent findings which I always do and for cheap too. This is actually the most civilized Ross I've been too and I have to admit that it's quite way more organized because they shoes are all in it's place according to size and style! Now that I have a dog, I often find cheap doggie clothes here for her and the dog beds here, I find have better quality for a lower price than Petco or Petsmart, and not to mention cuter. I'm glad there's a Ross in the Landing so I don't have to go to the Southcenter location anymore, it just got way too ratchet for me there with ripped boxes of dishes and toys that has to be duck taped up again. Parking is super easy here and not to mention, there's a Marshall right next door. Blessed Ross for being open until 1am around Christmas time when I had to last minute look for a present that late. My MIL and I come to this Ross all the time since the location is convenient from we live. But tonight, my mother in law was treated with the WORST customer service by their so called supervisor Maria. First of all, we all know Ross has two lines for return and check out. We were the only customers waiting in return and as customers got rang up, we stood there for at least 10minutes. And when my mother inlaw asked politely if it was her turn yet, Maria rudely said they switch from line to line... Yeah right! My MIL was returning a shirt she bought less than 10 days ago and was denied because of stains on there. Well no duh there's stains on there. That's the reason why she's returning the shirt. Maria was completely rude about it and said it was purchased too long ago. (Less than 10 days). Return policy is 30 days. Keep in mind my MIL is a senior and she only shops when her son and I are available To bring her. Worst supervisor and worst customer service ever! I have never ever received such horrific customer service until tonight at Ross at the landings. All in all, my MIL is very upset about the way she was treated. Great job supervisor Maria! Eeeeek. I HATE coming here. My boyfriend LOVES coming here. Drives me nuts. This store is so dirty, clothes and products all over the place. Empty food containers and beverage bottles on the shelves. Don't even bother going near the toy section unless you want to browse empty racks, because the kids literally leave everything on the floor. The staff is horrible. If they even acknowledge you, they follow you around the store. If they don't say a word, don't even bother asking for help. The lines get incredibly long, and with like 6 registers, only 1 will be open. They can't even lift their arms to give you your receipt, you have to take it yourself. No smiles, just attitudes. Last time we stopped by, some tweaker kid was grabbing half full beverages that people had left on the shelves and was putting them into his backpack. He did it probably 3 or 4 times before security finally kicked him out. The only thing we ever look at here is shoes for my man. Sometimes there is only one shoe and you can search the whole wall to not find its mate. Sometimes you'll find literally the exact same pair but for a different price. Gross, dirty, crap stuff, and terribly disrespectful and rude employees. As I said in my tip they all park in the front parking spots directly in front of the store. I know this because I came early recently before they opened to buy a steak knife set, wanted a cheap and fast option ok, lol, as I sat there waiting in the parking lot in my car, I watched, as one after the other parked right there. First! Second! Third Parking spots. Are you freakin kidding me?!? This is business 101. I mean really? If you think I'm freaking out, that's possibly correct. It just makes me so angry that people think this is an okay thing to do. How dumb can you be to do that?? I've obviously worked at my share of retail stores before that would have my head if I ever thought about doing this. But that's the point...I never even thought about it. It's out of the question. Duh. So, furthermore, as for the store itself, there is always trash and food containers laying around on the shelves. The shelves are half empty usually, with items often being broken. You would find a better find at a garage sale. When the employees unpack boxes, they do it in the middle of the aisles so no one can walk around, so you have to go backwards and around. They literally have no brains here. Oh and if you are dressed nice, or look like a respectable citizen, they give you dirty looks like you are terrible for coming in. This location is always clean, with easy parking. It's a bit bare sometimes, and the line can be annoyingly long. 15+ people deep with 2 cashiers? Wth? Not sure if I've purchased any clothing from Ross in over 10 years, but for household crap - this place rocks! Towels, bedding, sheets, candles, leather chairs - I've been known to drive within a 45 minute radius to various Ross stores to obtain a set of chairs, or matching whatever. 5 Stars to this location for being clean, -1 star for the limited selection. read more

I love going to this Ross. Like I mentioned in a review on the Ross on Rainier, I go to this one. I seem to find good things at this place. My last purchase here, I managed to find a pair of DKNY skinny jeans. Originally $49.99 from Macy's but I found on the rack at this Ross for only $19.99! Talk about deals! This visit was just a random visit as my boyfriend and I were trying to kill time before attending a Mazda meet there at The Landing. Anyway, just randomly looking in the kids shoe area for my daughter, we happened to stumble upon a pair of Jordan 7s for $29.99! Wow! Actual Jordans that Jordan wore during his career?! Although the size was a 10 and my daughter only wears a size 6-7 right now, we couldn't pass up this great deal... considering I paid well over $40 for a pair of Jordan Retro 3s at Niketown a couple months ago. I'm telling you, if you get lucky, you can find really great name brand stuff here for dirt cheap! read more

Oh, Ross. Ross is like all the best things you can find at a thrift store but with higher prices. Sometimes you can find very good deals but sometimes the prices on their purses and shoes are more than you'd pay on a discount website or really good sale at a non-discount retail store. The staff is so-so. They're sometimes friendly and sometimes not. The store is usually pretty messy and disorganized (especially the shoe department) but it adds to the thrift-store charm of the place. I go to this Ross regularly since I live in the highlands and The Landing is pretty much a staple for me. I don't know what the other negative reviews are referring to when they compare this Ross and say it's a lower standard than the rest. I happen to think this Ross is heads and shoulders above the other Ross's I've been to. I mean, sure it's messy, sure kids are screaming and running around like maniacs and sure they usually have only one cashier working the register so the lines reach the back of the store...but with that said...it's ROSS! C'mon people, you're not at Nordstrom! This isn't Macys! Heck, it's not even Safeway. It's Ross and that's the price you pay when you're buying something marked down to 3.99 from $49.99! If I were at a place where I paid retail then yes, I would expect a certain level of professionalism, but since I'm NOT surrounded by commissioned sales staff with health benefits and perks and instead I'm in a store with an extremely high turnover and staff making minimum wage -- I think it's about where it should be. The people who complained about this Ross should take a trip over to the gross Ross store in Tukwila, or better yet, the Ross's in Tacoma! This Ross at least feels clean and new. I just bought two pairs of MEK jeans that are regularly $125+ for 9.99! For that, I love this Ross and will keep going there whenever I feel like treasure hunting. read more

nothing against this store specifically, but... **** DO NOT BUY DR MARTENS*** I purchased a pair of Dr. Martens from a Ross store and the FELL APART after only wearing them for 1 1/2 months. They told me they would not honor a manufacturer defect replacement b/c they had "contractual obligation" with Ross to replace their product. Its funny, because Ross will not return any "used" product, especially shoes (was told that a replacement was void as soon as the shoes touched the ground". SO I'VE BEEN SCAMMED!!! How can you make a deal with a store to not replace product like this, especially knowing how they do business. So now I'm out $60 for a pair of "high quality" footwear that FELL APART after 1 1/2 months of wear. This was my first pair of Doc's, and will now be my last. thanks for nothing. I don't know how I have never reviewed this place. Ross used to be great in terms of the product that they were getting in. Name brand stuff, not this cheap stuff that will have holes in it after one wash. You can find some good purses, shoes and kitchen goods here, that is about it. Messy, but that is all Ross locations. They have people who throw stuff all over and then they do not care enough to take pride in their store. Line is always long, not enough cashiers and the ones they have are rude! Today the one working the returns, yells at the guy to take his receipt...um isn't it your job to take it off the printer and hand it to the customer?! Pretty sure that is part of being a cashier.
