I give this Ross 3.5-4 stars. It has more competitive prices than Marshall's next door, better offering of bed sets, comforters, sheets, and they have self checkout. I think I like this Ross because it has self checkout and I usually need 5 items or less and I can quickly come through the line with ease. If you have 10 items or less you can utilize self checkout. The only annoying drawback is that everything has a beeper so with self checkout you need to go to another register get your receipt scanned and then get the beepers off and then show your receipt to someone else at the door as you're leaving. This is tedious and annoying but you can literally get in and out 5 min or less so it is worth it. If you have a dog or need car things this Ross also has a good aisle for car accessories and trinkets and a good aisle for rugs and dog clothes. If you're in North/East Sj this is a good choice as I haven't seen any other Ross' in the area with self checkout. They also have a pretty good art selection of paintings for the wall. read more

Came here after the 9ers game, around 5pm or so during the holidays and this is my first time coming to this location. Huge selection and big location. Plenty of parking too. I knew what I wanted and found the items-- Christmas bags, travel cosmetic bags, hand soap. Good prices too. My brother's girlfriend bought a lot of stuff for people, too. My brother found some wrapping paper. I have a Ross closer to me but I'll drive here about 20 minutes away for a better selection. Staff was friendly and efficient. This store is so ghetto LOL!! I'm writing this review in the parking lot and can't stop laughing. I came here purely out of urgency (upcoming flight, and needed a replacement luggage). When I go to pay, they check every single crevice of the bag to make sure I'm not smuggling any of their expired food or poorly made clothing. Then as the checker hands me the receipt, she tells me to hand my receipt to the security guard to be checked. LMAO!! This guy is 5 feet away and witnessed the whole luggage check. Customer service needs improvement! The ladies working here are so rude. Sorry if you don't like your job. There are nice and gentle ways to approach a customer. The self checkout actually makes you feel uncomfortable when 3 employees approach you saying only 8 items. And again saying only 8 items looks like you have more than 8 items. I had 7 items to be exact. I even offered them to count the items before scanning. After that they make you take out the hangers off the clothes and take all items out the bag to count them. It's such in inconvenience. The employees don't even smile or nothing. They have there face of not wanting to be there. Even my daughter who is 8 years said mom the people at ROSS ARE RUDE! Pretty friendly store. Never been to this location but there's a greeter at the door, the fitting room lady is really nice and sweeps through the dressing room to make sure everything is fine-- but she doesn't snoop through rooms, just calls out to make sure real quick everyone's fine before leaving. Only one bathroom in the store and it doesn't work but that's to be expected. The aisles were really cramped and small so it was hard to bring my cart with me (to keep an eye on it) and browse. I did like that each rack had room to move hangers to look at the items so you didn't have to take it off the rack to look at it. I spent about 2 hours here and i usually don't go shopping often. I only really shopped in the men's aisle so I don't know about the other selections but I found a really nice gangster panda button up and super soft sweats. Look in the clearance area! There's actually really good stuff there- you just might have a hard time finding the right size. Would definitely come here again read more

Don't ever come here to buy clothes!!! I do not recommend going shopping here at this location. The store is always a mess it looks like someone came in and destroyed the whole store. There is always some sort of shoplifting going on when I go. Why have securities if they can't even do their job, I get that the employees can't do anything to stop the shoplifting but aren't the securities trained to do so? Ross is typically Ross as it is in it's other branches but let's just deal with the fact that this place can be disorganized because of several reasons; (1) the regular shoppers who come here specially when there is new stock feels privileged to have the audacity to mess up the place despite the employees efforts to organize merchandise in the shortest time possible. (2) the place is clearly undermanned with only a handful employees on a rotating work shift...ergo when the store is super busy,..things can get stressful (3) Shoppers know that you get good deals in ROSS and most of them are horrid hoarders who pick up a cart full of items, haul them in the dressing room and end up with a pair or two at check-out... I give 3 stars just because I am into discounts and I feel comfortable when I go here. It's not overwhelmingly huge like burlington's (which is btw is messy too!). It may not be a high end store but when you do have to stick in a budget you can rely on getting something here. As for me: I got a USA made flowy printed summer (square) pants, one royal blue shirt blouse, and an Eddie Bauer loafers all for about 47 bucks (with tax)....not too shabby aye... Tip: Check the items before buying them. Getting clothes with uneven stitches, loose buttons or torn/damaged materials is not worth your hard earned buck and returning them can be a hassle. Same goes with everything else that you see in the store. read more

Why do you close 10-20 min early?? I walk in and the first thing said to me is WE CLOSE IN A FEW MIN (uhm ok chick nice customer service ) . This was at 10:09 and the listed close time is 10:30. On here it says 11 which is not true. She makes an announcement that says to ross closes in TWO MINUTES and I if we don't come up now we won't be helped. In my 20 years of experience in retail AND customer service never ever would we dare to close 10-20 min early. You have to help people even if they come in 5 to close. If they stay past close that's a different story. 6 different people came up trying to go in, but turned away. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is for the lost prevention gal named SARRA. Came in to shop for shoes but you know how shopping for one thing goes you find a deal you have to go for it! Well I went to look at fragrances for men/women and the manager on shift Parm that's what the cashier gave me as a name... Parm was very rude and had the worst attitude you can imagine and I was nothing but respectful when I came in to the store giving high praise on how clean it was and organized but clearly she was on another level this happen about 9:15 am 02/25/2020 I will not be coming to this location anymore if they are going to allow managers like her I don't know what her problem was and the store was not even busy with customers for her to have her attitude she needs to evaluate herself on customer service !!!! read more

This Ross location have more sections than the other locations. The workers here are nice and friendly. Their storefront and inside is clean and more organize then any other locations. I bought a cool Sriracha button down shirt. I rarely buy anything here to wear. read more

This store can have its good days and bad days when it comes to inventory and supply, but so long as you understand that the shelves will be a mess and the floors will be dirty, you will be just fine. Finding specific items is almost impossible here, it's more like a game of I spy or hide and seek but if thoroughly peruse every shelve and rack, you can find some good items for cheap. I don't recommend shopping at this location, employees are not trained well and very rude! I was next in line to do returns for the items I purchased recently, and Patty approached me very rudely. Plus, she asked me why I'm returning a lot of items, instead of asking 'anything wrong with the items?' That is not a customer service. Will not coming back to this store! I tried to return a DVD from a long time ago but they do not sell DVDs anymore so I cannot return it. They were people waiting outside for its to open in the morning. This is like a typical Ross there are things not in the right place but prices are lower than if you were to shop at main department stores so you can't complain too much in my opinion. I was able to find some stuff for the house to decorate on the walls. I give this place three stars for A-OK. read more

Two reasons for the stars... 1) This Ross has a pretty good shoe selection. 2) I usually find good accessories here. Now here are the reasons that this particular Ross sucks... There is always at least a 15 minute wait to pay. I don't know why but this is always an issue when I happen to go to this particular store. Another thing that's annoying is that the people who shop here tend to bring thier 5 children along for the "experience", and set them free to run around the store breaking stuff. This Ross is the closest one to my house so I come here pretty often, but it's probably my least liked Ross that I've ever been to. The selection isn't that great and the service is really horrible. Most Ross stores are pretty messy, and this one is no different. Nothing is in the right section and everything is kind everywhere! The worst thing about this place is their customer service. There are times when only one person is working the cash register for both the exchange/returns and the purchases line. The line gets insanely long and although there are lots of Ross employees everywhere, no one starts working at another cash register. There was a time where I waited, I kid you not, 45 minutes before they got to my transaction. read more

I bought a jacket from another Ross location but they forgot to remove the security tag so I went to this location which is close to my house to ask them to remove it but the cashier girl refused to take it off for me because I didnt have a receipt. Just got home from a trip and TWO scammers inside asking women about their hair and where they go to get it done. I got scammed twice by people with RFID scanners and they got my credit card info. Once at target and another time at Marshals in the Capital Square shopping center. Since then I got myself an RFID blocking wallet and RFID sleeves for each of my cards in my wallet. They go up to you and start a conversation and then as I was walking out the door (the last two times) I got a call from my bank asking if I made specific charges. They try to dress up and look somewhat not ghetto and walk around maybe with a couple items asking people the same question. Today around 12pm, 5 minutes after entering the store another woman (not pictured) asked me where I get my hair done because she loved the color. I told her and then she stopped again and said "you are so nice, do you work in costumer service" I just said no and she walked away. 5 minutes later a second woman (pictured) asks me the same thing. I said, hmm that is strange, this is the second time in the same store. I answered then followed and started recording. I found her asking another lady the same exact thing!! Bad service. When I was returning an item to the store, the lady there (named Alex) asked me for my driver's license to confirm my return. I told her that I would take 2 minutes to get my drivers license from my car, and went to get it. When I got back, she had just barely started helping another customer, even though I had just came in. Even though I was there first, and had come in a few moments ago, she ignored me completely even though I asked for another cashier to help me out. As a result, I was forced to wait 15 minutes for someone who was behind me to finish their return. The cashier is extremely unprofessional. I'm a loyal customer at Ross stores, and I have never seen such rudeness and unprofessionalism before. If she continues to keep working there, I'm sure that store will lose a lot of customers. read more

This Ross is close to my house but I don't really like it. I remember Ross carried a lot of stuff... Well this Ross had exactly one bathrobe. Oookay, I can deal with that. But this employee was very rude to me and my mom. We were picking out underwear and we wanted to buy about 10 and after a while this employee comes up to us and she's like "Are you guys going to buy anything 'cause you're making a big mess" and she's BEEN here for a while and she can see that there were other customers there not just me and my mom. Apparently customer service and getting customers out of the store is not important at this Ross according to Sarah, the Manager on Duty @6 pm. With four customers standing in line and one cashier open, I requested for another cashier as I walked up to the line. Sarah informed me that the young lady who was emptying out a bin of hangers and storing them on the rack would be attending our needs ONCE she finished emptying the bin. This all was taking place while she (Sarah) was standing having a cordial non business-related conversation -that I overheard and interrupted- with the security man near the front door. When I repeated the request I was given the same answer that she will attend to us WHEN she is finished. I stated to her that her response clearly dictates that making sales and getting customers out of the store is not a priority. She went back to continuing her conversation with the young man for about 30 seconds and then she proceeded to go to a rack near the front of the store to clean up and remove hangers from the area. NOTE TO SARAH: Next time you have an increasing line for the cashier, how about YOU go remove the hangers from the bin and let your cashier ring up customers to enhance both, your sales numbers and the customer's experience in your store. Oh, and you could have possibly said it with a slight smile on your face. It might have been received better, though I doubt it. read more

I don't like coming here but since I was stuck doing some errands with my mother, I got trapped into coming to this Ross location. Let's start of with their inventory. It's a hit and miss here with their inventory (more miss for me...) when we come. we found this really nice scarf & gloves set we were gonna get someone as a gift, but realized that that one had holes in it. Of course it was the only one they had! My mom also found a really nice wine glass set here but unfortunately they only had two left and one of the boxes was jacked up. Not sure if the workers are not re-stocking their items or they're just not carrying enough to keep their customers satisfied. The store is a mess! Toys on the floor, a shoe in the middle of the isle. Where are the employees on the floor cleaning up and picking up the mess? I didn't encounter any rude employees like the other yelpers, but I was under the impression that they were either short staffed or just lazy to do any cleaning. On a brighter note, their prices are pretty cheap. We saw similar items in Macy's and Sears that were priced cheaper here. If you don't mind shopping in a messy store with a chance of you trippin' over toys & other merchandise while walking down their isles! read more

Everything goes together well in this store. Let me elaborate. It is in the ghetto, so I assume, the shoppers are ghetto. (Check) When you walk in, you'll see that the clothes on the racks are a mess and the styles quite nasty. More ghettoness, perhaps. (Check) And why is it so messy? Because they have ghetto employees working there; that's why. (Check). So, all in all. If you're ghettofied, stop by at this Ross. It is perfect for you. I needed a small housewarming gift and was in the center so I stopped into Ross. I found the gift and walked around the store. It was a mess and reminded me of a Goodwill. There was nothing I was interested in so I got in the check out line. I remained there for 30 minutes. There were three stations at each of the two checkout areas. One had one open, a young man who seemed capable. The other had one return cashier open who took an occasional checkout when there were not returns. What I found really wierd is that there were numerous people wandering around the area doing things like cleaning up an empty checkout station, collecting hangers and other non costumer service activities. All acting like they had all of the time in the world to accomplish their job. At the same time the store manager was on the phone and apparently not noticing that the check out line was getting longer. I stopped on my way out and told her I had just experienced the worst customer service in my shopping life. The best she could say is that she will let her supervisor know. Not even an "I'm sorry." This Ross store gets one star because I found a bathing suit for my daughter in January. Otherwise, this Ross sucks! As soon as I walked it there was a stench of smoke and used clothing. Today was a crap day. After a busy afternoon with my mom, I needed to detox. Said hi to the loss prevention officer, and buried myself in the shoe section. Found a couple of cute heels, but not about to splurge on heels. Browsed through the ladies section, and found a couple of shirts to try out. After using the fitting room, I ended up choosing two cute tops: one green crocheted shirt, and one white tunic. The line was short, and a woman in front of me, even let me cut in front of her. I usually come in when I have time to kill and look for things for the house. Customer service is poor and the store could be more organized. The employees checking out usually rush the transaction with no greeting or eye contact. A simple, "Thank you for your patience/waiting," would be nice. You take your own receipt at the end of the transaction and they're already calling up the next customer. I once witnessed a customer with a problem and the manager was called over. It was a young woman who was very unprofessional. She wasn't kind or patient with the customer as she explained the store policy. She just kept telling her no. Not a good look in front of a long line of customers waiting. The security or loss prevention representative that stands at the front usually greets me and I am grateful that there is a separate line for returns. Sometimes I find some really great things for home organization and the kitchen, but I feel the selection is far better at TJ Maxx. The low prices are the reason I return, but I'd probably come in more often if the employees were more welcoming. read more
