Yesterday **5/14/2026** i witnesses the most disgusting gross misconduct from a manager that im sure is illegal & a violation of company Policy i was in bathroom & in the stall next to me i can hear someone sobbing & having difficulty breathing .Sounded like she was having anxiety or a panic attack soo i said out loud don't worry it will get better she replied Thank you Little did i know it was gonna get worse. A Manager came in bathroom yelling employee name saying she had 10min to do her hummer & if she didn't she would be terminated for insubordination employee did not reply manager left. about 3 min passed manager comes back yelling to employee to leave go home manager theresa on the phone knows & that she is going to get terminated for insubordination & to go to office & answer a call for her Meanwhile employee is washing face with cold water saying don't scream at me. Dont yell at me it is not insubordination i have done my work. Horrible experience tonight in Ross at Dublin (7/7/26). First, I went to return pillows that I purchased yesterday. The girl that returned them gave me a voucher and had me run my credit card - I don't know why but I ran it. I returned to line to purchase a blouse. The girl who gave me the receipt for the voucher, never gave me the card - of this, I am absolutely certain. The clerk running the voucher couldn't use it because I didn't have the card...the one I was never given. Was the clerk going to use it for herself, assuming I was leaving the store?? So then, the manager gets involved; and he was SO unprofessional. He voided the voucher and put the return on my credit card, but stated he couldn't give me a receipt for the return since the return was the same day as the purchase. I told him I purchased the pillows YESTERDAY. Then he said, well check your app to see if it went through. When I told him I don't have the app, he unprofessionally admonished me with, "What you don't have an APP?" I said, "No, I'm elderly, I do not use an app. Then he dug a deeper hole and said, "Well you have that expensive credit card!?" When I stopped him and asked what my credit card had to do with anything, he said, "I was just joking." So incredibly trashy. So then...he says, well give me your phone number and I'll call you in the morning to see if the credit went through. I wrote the phone number down (I shouldn't have...but the line was growing and this was taking a long time)...and he said, I'll call you early. I said, "All I want is a receipt that I returned this." He insisted he couldn't give me one, and expected me to leave the store with his word, and no documentation that I returned the pillows. Then he said, "You want the pillows back and you can bring them back in!" I said "NO! All I wanted was to use the voucher to buy the blouse" - which I had handed to the clerk when I walked up. Do you know what HE SAID??? Well you never SAID THAT! I said "Yes! I handed the blouse AND the voucher to the cashier!" OMG...finally I said, can't you just do the return as if I didn't have a receipt and give me a new voucher and let me buy the blouse? He did that but now with a total attitude. I bought the blouse. As I walked out I mentioned to the first girl...who knew dang well she didn't give me the card voucher (I bet this isn't her first rodeo)...that she hadn't given me the card, only the actual receipt. She insisted she did. The question is, why did she need to run my credit card to give me a voucher? This is all very disturbing. I am done with this ghetto store. MARSHALLS IS WAY BETTER! read more

Sure, they still have lots of packaged cookies, coffees, liquid hand soap, colognes, jewelry, and kitchenware...all at a fraction of what you would find elsewhere. I've had the most horrific experience in your store on June 22, 2021, around 5:30 pm. I came into the store after running earns, having lunch while working from a local eatery. I planned to stop by Ross to see what I could find between a late lunch and an appointment. When I enter the store, folks greeted me, and I went to the shirt section excited; I found more than I expected, but when I turned around and spotted an LP was watching me shop, this was a taller Hispanic-looking gentleman. I ask the Hispanic gentlemen if he was watching me; his response is, should I be watching you and walked away from me. I found it very odd; then I went to the dressing room, and I noticed the dressing room attendee heard something over her headphone and then looked over at me. Savanna, the dressing room attendee, said that I had to leave my backpack outside the dressing room. She singled me out, as I was the second person in line, and I felt targeted. I put the clothes down, went to the front of the store, and asked to speak to the manager. Another LP, Robert, asked me to move away from him so he could greet customers and how he and his team were not racist. Race was never something that came out of my mouth, and I asked if he could not engage with me while I waited for the manager. He continued to berate me while I wait. As I was waiting for the manager, I told myself I am a customer I should not let this stop me from shopping. I am going to try on my clothes and talk to the manager. Robert follows me to the dressing room and harasses me. Savanna stepped in to help me and called the manager. At this point, I am overwhelmed with emotions, I feel like I was racially profiled, and I wanted to cry. I am 30 years old; I hold 2 degrees, work in higher education and have a small wellness business. I make over $80k a year. I do not know why I was treated this way besides the fact I am Black. Maire, the manager, talked to me and apologized for the situation and Roberts's behavior. I just wanted to get my items and go home. You do not have a social responsibility to your community and conduction business ethics for that this was the worst experience of my life. I was just at your store on Watt Ave in Sacramento Ca. I have never been treated so bad by employees in my life. They treated me like I was a criminal when I went in the dressing room and then to make matters worse they told me to put my clothes back my self. The Ross store of Rancho Cordova provide awful customer service. We need to stay in the line more than 10 minutes in order to get help from the cashier. Also, my customer issues is regarding rude staff. My daughter wanted go to the restroom and no body was available to helped her to open the door because it was locked then i asked security to open the door. Trace who was working in the feting room said that i do not have right talking to the security and then she started to yelling and verbal abused me. I don't recomend anyone to shop at Ross! There return policy is ridiculious. I bought a pair of walking shoes that were not comfortable at all. I paid with my debit card. When returning the shoes they wanted my debit card to put the cash back on. I only carry my card if i intend to spend, so I told them i didn't have it. They took the cah from my account I want my cash back! They refused and told me to go home and get my card! Why should I? You took cash I should be able to get it back....every other store does this!!!!!!! I will never shop at Ross, I will make sure I post this all over Facebook to ensure none of my friends or family do either. Look Ross this is two definitions of a debit card!!!!!!! That's enough proof for me that there is something fishy going on there. ...some people don't work at Ross for the money... What the hell is that? Everyone works for the money. Yes, some people can do with less, but most people can do with more, especially if you make $4B in Revenue. I was in 6/27/2011. I just stopped in to see what great deal I could find that evening. It was around 8:45pm. I am browsing and all of a sudden I hear this Ross employee guy yelling at this India lady who works there, she looks like someones gram ma ok. He's yelling things like if you don't get these dresses done I'm gonna kick you right in the butt hard and you're not leaving until its done! And he said "are you stupid or what can you understand me?" Very sad for me to hear this.... he was laughing and she was laughing because she could hardly speak english. He thought it was great fun to embarrass this old lady but to me it looked down right racial and he was taking an advantage of her lack of understanding the English language. This happened at the Pleasanton store. I will not come back to this store. This young man was out of line completely and he knew what he was getting away with. Hello....I am upset with Ross policys. I bought a sweater and ware the sweater one time. The sweater got a hole under the arm so i washed the sweater and went to return it. I asked if I had wore the sweater. Then asked if I had washed the sweater. I said, "Yes, I washed the sweater". The manager told me that because I had washed the sweater they could not resell it!!!!! What.....resell a sweater that was not wash!!!! So I said, "You mean to tell me if I hadn't washed the sweater you would take it back and resell it?" Well....the manager just walked away.....This is the West Sacramento, CA store. Another day a few months before this.....I was at the Carmichel, CA store. I went to try on some panties...I was told that I could not try them on. I had several pair and they were all about $4.00 a pair. I asked to talk to the mangaer. After all. Macy, Penny's and Sears let you try on panties. Well, the manager told me that trying on panties was not ploicy....but that I could buy them......take them home and try the panites on, and if they didin't fit I could bring the panities back.... "What I asked? At home anyone can try the panities on with out leaving their underpants on!" It didn't matter....policy is policy.....I won't shop at ROSS ever again. Ross needs to change their return policy when it comes to their senior discount. Tuesday's are 10% off for those 55 and older. I was there yesterday and bought a pair of sheets and received the discount. I had to return them and got the exact same sheets for the exact same price today, Wed. and was told that I had to pay the 10% discount since I presented my reciept. If I didn't have a receipt, it would have been a straight across trade. This is a ridiculous policy and the store manager was the one that said it had to be like this. I asked them to pretend I didn't show a receipt, and they refused. It is only 90 cents but it is the policy that is ridiculous as well as the customer service. This is a great place to buy clothing. You get great quality and sometimes designer brands for bargain prices. I got my prom dress here; it was comfortable and classy, I got compliments for it, and it cost less than $30. It may take a bit of treasure hunting to find what you're looking for, but that's part of the fun. Also, the store employees are pretty nice. read more

I work at ross and i got 8 hours this week on my schedule. And that is good because 6 other workers only got 4 hours. The place is horrible to work for, the manager said she has way to many people working and she only has so many hours she can give a week so untill people start quiting she will continue to give 4 hours a week to everybody. Yes, their clothes are cheap but what do you expect for the cost? My complaint is twofold. First there are never enough cashiers. And then when a cashier shows up, they do not take the next person in line, they just say "I'm open". Secondly - does Ross only hire Hispanics and Russians? I guess that is not so bad, what is bad is that they do not speak English when in the store. I feel it is important for them to carry on their culture, but not in public when they are supposed to be working. When they speak their language, I don't know if they are making fun of me, the way I talk or dress, or if they are just talking about what they are going to do after work.... They have been advertising their latest GREAT shoe sale, well as has usually been the case on more than 10 ocassions there are NO sizes under size 8-1/2 to 10...Many many times there are only one of the small size shoe and no match...Now this commercial is running atleast 5-6 x a day in my area of northern california and this was again the case at 3 stores in my area as of yesterday! I asked the managers and they had no idea when more would b available and they were short and uncourteous....Come on ROSS at least live up to what you are advertising, I believe you are loosing a lot of customer base as there is a huge demand for nice shoes in small sizes, but I find Marshalls and other stores do \much better at their inventory demands! read more

Ross advertised "shoe week" at Ross a couple of weeks ago. I rarely go into Ross because its always so disorganized and not enough help. The shoes advertised were really cute, so I go into Ross to check out the shoes and to my disappointment there were maybe 10 shoes of each size on the shelves. I asked an employee and they had no idea that it was shoe week. And another employee told me to come back after 3 pm. So I waited a couple of days and decided to visit the store again. Well again, no shoes... Was it just a ploy to get customers into the stores because I can tell you it wasn't for the shoes. I was at the Ross store on Hulen Street in Fort Worth, TX and was pressed by what I witnessed and my conviction to make a wrong right. The queuing and lack of adequate staffing along with poor training created a situation where a shopper abandoned her cart of chosen items and walked out of the store after being denied service. Situation - there were four registers on the right and the returns was on the left at the front of the store; there were no cashiers at the four registers; and (3) cashiers at the returns counter. The queuing signage clearly showed a line for returns and the other for purchases. However, there was a shopping cart full of return items that was blocking the entrance to the purchases line, which gave the impression to shoppers that because all the clerks were at the returns counter, there was only one line available. What Happened - Because all the clerks were at the returns counter, all shoppers lined up in the returns line, which was very long (about 10 people). I heard the sales clerk call for the next customer with returns and figured I was in the wrong line so I slightly moved the shopping cart and came to the front of the line on the purchases side. Then I saw that some of the shoppers in the returns line were actually making purchases and then went back over to the returns line. After standing there 10 minutes, another shopper moved the cart blocking the purchase side, which started a second line and it quickly grew. Shoppers in the returns line continued to be waited on until the male clerk asked for next customer with returns and the shopper at the front of the returns line said she had no returns but purchases. The clerk told her she was in the wrong line and had to go to the end of the purchases line. Another shopper that was now being waited on at the returns counter complained and told the clerks that this shopper was next to being waited on because she had been in line before the second line was formed. The clerk would not wait on that customer and called for the next person in line, which was a lady in the purchases line that had no returns either. The shopper that was denied service left her basket of items and walked out of the store while the customer what was in front of her continued to complain about the wrongful way that shopper was denied service. When I got to the counter I spoke to the clerk that was assisting me and told her how what I had just witnessed was very poor customer service and there was no way that lady should have been able to leave the store "unserved." I then asked her to call the store manager because that whole situation disturbed my spirit so badly I couldn't leave without registering my complaint with the store manager. His name was Greg and of course he blamed it on the staff limitations based on budget. I explained to him the entire situation from my vantage point and that staffing and placement of signage was the issue. As Greg listened to me, the clerk that denied service interjected into the conversation and said he did not deny the lady service, she said he could hang up the items and left. By sending her to the back of a very long line when she was actually the next person in line to be served, he denied her service. The queuing was configured very poorly, the returns sign should have been to the left of the returns counter so that as shoppers brought their items back, they need not come into the shopping area. The purchases queuing was in front of the store and in the correct position but the problem what that there were no clerks manning the purchases stations. This sounds like a comedy of errors but it was not humorous by any means and Ross lost a customer in front of many shoppers that witnessed "poor service." read more

Ross has some great deals and I have no complaint about that. Tonight I went in to buy some clothes with my wife who did the same. I also wanted a pair of tennis shoes. This was at the Warrenton OR store. I found one pair that was very comfortable and unfortunately it had no laces. From past experience, at times, it is hard to find laces that look good and I needed shoes for tomorrow. So, I went to pay for them expecting some sort of a discount. However my condition was simply that I would like to return them if I was unable to buy laces that looked appropriate. The manager, told me that I could pay full price for them without the laces but if she gave any discount, I could not return them at all. I thought that was very unreasonable that she would tell me to buy them when they were on the shelf without laces. . Yes it is a small thing but we have shopped there for at least 9 years and bought lots of things in that time. I am not sure I will be back. It really changed how I look at that store read more

This is a review about your customer service. I love shopping at Ross and I do it primarily at your Rockville Pike Store in Maryland. Two Saturdays ago, I went there to shop and was trying on some clothes and took my eye glasses off to do so. I had just gotten those glasses two days ago. Anyway I forgot to take the glasses when I took out the clothes and remembered as soon as I got to the cashier, whereupon I ran back to the room only to find they were GONE. I asked the customer service to announce that some glasses were left in the dressing room and if anyone had found them to bring them to customer service. They bluntly refused saying it is not their policy to do so even though I was in the store prior to that and they were announcing a cell phone. I have therefore lost my glasses for which I paid a pretty sum. I believe if someone had taken them, thinking they were sunglasses they would have turned them in because they could not wear them. I was truly disappointed simply because I ALWAYS shop at Ross and those cashiers and managers are quite familiar with my face. You had better make your staff more customer oriented. read more
