Absolutely spectacular dining experience!!!!! Arrived and was kindly greeted by Michael up front, escorted to our table, and immediately confirmed our water preference and drink orders. The ambiance is stylish and hip. Within minutes we met our server Erica. In my opinion, a great server creates an exceptional meal. Erica discussed the menu with passion and confidence, describing each dish in detail, and all with a sweet and disarming kindness. She was spot on with her recommendations and created a divine dining experience. We started with the Caesar salad, it was spectacular, glorious anchovies, and beautifully dressed. Perfectly complimented with the focaccia, which had two butters and a bean paste for spreading. Next we were blown away by the Tortelloni. I'm not certain how to best describe, because it was a combination of delicate flavors from the cheese filled pasta, and then a unique preparation that created a textured finish to the pasta that was outstanding! For our main, we savored the delicate and flavorful branzino and a few of the fries. I thought we were done, but someone the pistachio milk cake found its way onto our table, and I can only describe it as a religious experience. What can I say!?!?! Service was impeccable! As I had seen their DineLA menu, I figured I would finally pull the trigger and make a reservation! Actually, I had the chance to check out Rossoblu at the LATimes 101 restaurants back in 2021. I forgot the sample dish they served but it was good enough for me to want to visit this restaurant. It is located at a central location next to a Brewery and another restaurant! The walkway to the restaurant is cute and feels very lively. We were greeted and seated right away! We were offered a non-alcoholic drink which was delicious! We then proceeded to order from the DineLA pre-fixe menu as well as ordered one item from the regular menu as well as 2 drinks. House-Cured Testa What can I say?!?!? It was so tender it melted like butter! The frisee salad paired well with the testa. Zucchini Alla Parmigiana Sooo delectable! Before we knew it, we had devoured it. Beef Brisket Falsogramo I was surprised by both presentation and taste and was surprised at how the egg was cooked into the brisket! Mt. Lassen Ocean Trout The escarole salad played well with this fish! I was surprised! The lemon also added the right amount of acidity! Sweet Corn Risotto Pure deliciousness! Came here for DineLA with a friend recently and overall, it wasn't bad but I wouldn't say I'd rave about it either. We started with the Beef Tartare and the Erbazzone. I'm not a huge fan of raw meat, so the tartare wasn't particularly my cup of tea but flavor-wise it wasn't bad (more of a texture thing for me), while the erbazzone was satisfactory for what it was. For the mains, we got the Lobster & Mascarpone Tortelli and the Petit Filet Mignon. I was looking forward to the pasta because I'm a big lobster/crab lover, but to be honest, the lobster pasta was fishier than expected and a bit lacking in flavor overall, however, the filet was wonderful and exactly what you'd want out of a steak. Definitely the highlight of the meal. For dessert, we got each of the two desserts offered on the DineLA menu (Lemon Olive Oil Cake & Hazelnut Semifreddo). The olive oil cake was a bit dry and I've definitely had better olive oil cakes, and the hazelnut dish was very intensely hazelnut to a point where it was a bit overpowering the other ingredients. We also paired the meal with their DineLA 500ml white wine special for an additional $27 (a great deal for about ~4 glasses of wine total). Overall, it wasn't a bad dining experience -- the food option on the Dine LA menu just weren't giving the wow-factor that I had hoped (having researched this spot and its mostly high reviews). The service was good, and the ambiance inside (and outside on the patio) are lovely and perfect for a date night. The portions were a bit small, but kind of to be expected these days at more upscale LA restaurants. I would be open to coming back to try more dishes though. 3.7/5 read more

Came here to celebrate my friends birthday. Made reservations in advance and came on a Thursday night. It was half full and even though it was just the two of us they gave us a bigger table with a 2 seater sofa which we loved. Also got a good view of the giant horse mural on the wall. Got the seafood Frito, pork meatball and the maltagliati. Seafood frito was my favorite. It was like calamari but with so much more variety and an assortment of seafood. The batter was starchy and the sauces paired well. I do wish it was a little more crunchy when we came! The meatballs had a salty savory glaze which was delicious. The noodles were great as well but took a while to come out. Feel like it took over 45 minutes when the place half empty. TIP: outside is a little sketchy being around fashion district but there is valet and the corner it's in along with the few other establishments was pretty charming especially with all the hanging lights at night. The ambiance is amazing, and you almost forget that you're in the Fashion District... We got the eggplant and the fritto misto calamari thing for appetizers and both were absolutely delish. We also ordered the manila clam stew and the tortellini in crema which left us absolutely full. We also had ordered a pizza, but there was some kind of mixup and it was cancelled...which is kind of fortunate because we were stuffed already. PALOMA - my friend and I both love a good Paloma, especially when it's hot outside! The Paloma was a pretty pink and the drink was really well balanced. The grapefruit soda was sweet, the lime was bright and tart, and the tequila had a nice bite. The three components really complimented each other nicely. This is a drink my friend and I would both order again. APEROL SPRITZ - On a hot day, who doesn't want to pretend like they're in Italy living la dolce vita?! My friend ordered an Aperol Spritz and let me have a few sips. It wasn't too bitter and had nice notes of sweetness. FOOD SEAFOOD FRITTO MISTO - This fritto misto included calamari, rock shrimp, and white bait. The fried seafood was served with lemons, Calabrian chili sauce, and salsa rosa aioli. The lemon always makes it feel a bit lighter, so we were sure to spritz some on top of everything. The seafood was tender, well cooked, and didn't feel too heavy. The Calabrian chili sauce was herbaceous with a subtle chili flavor. It had a nice burst of acidity that went really well with the fritto misto, and was the sauce I kept coming back to the most. The salsa rosa aioli was also really nice. I loved both sauces and thought they went well with the fritto misto. MALTAGLIATI - I've never had this pasta shape before, but absolutely loved it. These little squares of goodness were perfectly al dente and mushroom forward. We both absolutely loved this dish and can't wait to eat it again in the future. HALF CHICKEN - This chicken was prepared in an oven on top of a brick. Although it was incredibly tender, my friend and I both found this to be a little too salty, at least for our tastes. Compared to the other dishes, this was our least favorite, but probably because the other dishes were so delightful and perfectly balanced. Has a reservation here for 7am. We arrived 30 minutes early and had no issue getting a seat, and we met Mike while being shown our seats. He was welcoming and kind. Our server, Hayden, was excellent. It didn't take long for us to get our drink order taken, and our food was brought out on time. Everything was delicious. The meatballs were so soft and delicious. We came for the Bollito Misto dinner which is apparently part of their wine dinner series. Bollito Misto is a cherished holiday tradition in Bologna featuring slow simmered meats accompanied by various sauces. We were excited for this communal table dinner where everything would be served family style. It reminded us of the many Feast of the Seven Fishes dinners we have attended at other Italian restaurants where you're seated among strangers but always leave as friends. We arrived about 15 minutes early, eager to pick seats that would allow us to chat with everyone around us. Sadly we were taken to an area of the restaurant and seated at a table for two. When I inquired about the communal seating, the host indicated that it was set up as individual seating for the night and not the communal table that was advertised. What a letdown! The wine rep approached and we both agreed to the accompanying wine tasting. The meal consisted of seven meats accompanied by seven sauces. But first we were treated to Passatelli en Brodo, a unique twist on the classic tortellini in brodo that features a cheesy extruded pasta-like shape made of breadcrumbs, eggs and Parmesan. While it somewhat mimics pasta, the texture was soft and slightly grainy yet very satisfying. Next up was a surprise dish of homemade tagliatelle with a tasty ragù made from the scraps of the meats the chef broke down for the bollito misto. Two thumbs up!! Then came the star of the show...the meats and their sauces. The meats were arranged on a platter and consisted of chicken, veal breast, pork jowl, beef tongue, beef throat, beef shoulder and cotechino sausage. The sauces were salsa rossa, roasted garlic, salsa verde, peara, cren, cipolle al balsamico and a citrus mostarda. The assorted meats were nicely cooked but all had a similar texture and flavor being that they were all boiled together. The sauces were hit and miss. I was especially excited about the peara which is made with bone marrow, bread and black pepper but it turned out to be my least favorite. It was rather bland. The salsa rossa, made with bell pepper and tomato was fantastic on its own but didn't pair well with any of the meats. My favorites were the cren (made with horseradish, mascarpone and lemon), the balsamic onions and the mostarda. There was also a lovely salad of bitter greens as well as some roasted potatoes. I barely touched the salad or potatoes as the meal was extremely filling. Last up was a nice fior di latte gelato topped with candied squash and a drizzle of aged balsamic. Overall I was underwhelmed. There were definitely highlights during the meal but the lack of a communal table, the inability to hear the chef describe talk about and describe each dish, and the similar soft texture of the meats did not meet my expectations. This was unexpected as I've had great meals at Rossoblu in the past. We will likely try another wine dinner in the future as the guests at the table closest to us said they are usually much better. They also lamented the fact that there was no communal table, saying they also enjoyed the camaraderie with other diners during the meal. read more

We had the tagliatelle, the roasted carrots and the hangar steak with a red wine reduction sauce. All were fantastic and full of flavor! The service and our waiter were all fantastic--so helpful, friendly and kind! The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Very classic LA evening scene. I have loved Rossoblu since the time I first tried the restaurant years ago shortly after they opened. The food is so unique compared to many other Italian restaurants, being inspired by the chef's grandmother who he spent summers growing up with in Bologna. The interior is expansive and beautifully designed and the restaurant is located in a small but bustling DTLA Fashion District oasis that is also home to Dama and Creature Comforts Brewery, Cognoscenti Coffee and a Superfine pizza window. Today I took a handmade pasta class with the chef/owner and it just reinforced the high opinion I already had of the establishment. From start to finish a great experience which I would highly recommend! Everything was absolutely delicious from the start - the calamari was perfectly cooked, the rosemary focaccia had such great whipped brown butter spread that really set us up for a great evening. We had a large group so I was able to share the tortellini, the lasagna, the ragu tagliatelle, and the chicken. All which were perfect! The tortellini is best if you're a cheese lover! Power tip: had a nice dinner last night. The the vibe was pretty neat, with a large open space and modern atmosphere. The food was very good, as we shared the seafood fritto misto (fried appetizer; the lemon was surprisingly good), Maltagliati (mushroom with flat pasta, nice al dente), and the pork chop that we couldn't finish. Even though the last was by far the most expensive, ironically, we thought the least of it, partly because the prosciutto was sogged down by the cheese, and there were spots that were cold. Although our server made good recommendations, he was relatively terse and rarely checked in. Despite the recommendation to valet, there were plenty of street parking. It was my third time visiting rossoblu and I had decent experience with all three times. I usually try to find a street parking as the valet here is $14. Usually there are enough street parkings around the restaurant in the evening time but there are a lot of homeless people nearby. Even though the surrounding is a bit ghetto, the ambiance of restaurant itself and that plaza is very pretty - casanova (not pictured): gin-based cocktail. i was expecting more strawberry flavor from the description but it was more citrusy - Seafood fritto misto: this one is a must to order! It is a combination of fried seafood and veggies served with creamy sauce and red sauce similar to salsa. - Margherita pizza: their dough is very chewy and yummy. A good plate to share - Rigatoni: cream-based pasta with mushroom. Their pasta is also very chewy and special - Tagliatelle (not pictured): very popular menu but it was a bit salty to me - Branzino (not pictured): it was my personal favorite. I loved the space. And I can imagine in the summer this would be really great to hang outside eating and drinking. Inside the restaurant is nicely decorated. The staff are attentive and pace your meal really well. The food is OK. I wished it was more flavorful though to be honest because I really really wanted to absolutely love this place! We started with meatballs which were good, an order of focaccia and the Caesar salad. I personally felt the Caesar Salad could have been a little tangier in the dressing. We went onto the pastas. Both of which were fine, were they great? No, but not were they awful, they just existed. We ended with the short rib, which had a huge line of fat throughout that was really distasteful and we ended up leaving most of it. Deserts were tiramisu and the hazelnut gelato. The gelato was good, the tiramisu could have done with more coffee taste. All in all the meal was just OK, the space however is interesting and comfortable and the staff excellent. Would I return? Probably not. Would I recommend to a foodie? Meh. There's better Italian restaurants here in LA. read more

Just wow. This place really impressed me and my boyfriend. It was the perfect place for us to celebrate our anniversary. There was good service, great food, and it had a nice, quiet ambiance. My boyfriend and I really liked the Amalfi Fizz and Bella Stella Italian sodas. The Stella Bella's strawberry flavoring was a bit too artificial/strong for my liking, but my boyfriend loved it. I found the Amalfi Fizz refreshing. We ordered the Seafood Fritto Misto and Grilled Pork Meatballs to start. I'm not a big fan of meatballs, but these were good and not too salty. They were even served with a piece of flatbread that paired well with the tomato sauce. The seafood fritto misto really blew us away. The shrimp and calamari were some of the best we've had and the two sauces (an acidic salsa-like sauce and an aioli) were a great balance for each other. We devoured it quickly. Olimpia's Tagliatelle wasn't what we expected. The pork and beef ragu tasted a lot like chicken noodle soup and the noodles had an overcooked texture. I couldn't eat more than three bites. The Hanger Steak and dessert more than made up for the disappointing pasta. The steak was cooked perfectly and the red wine jus paired well with the cauliflower mash. For dessert, we ordered the Melon Sorbetto and Tiramisu. We were surprised with an extra serving of Fior Di Latte Gelato and Semolina Chocolate Chip Cookies to celebrate our anniversary. The Melon Sorbetto was an unique flavor, didn't have too strong of an artificial taste, and was very refreshing. The Tiramisu was decadent and rich with strong coffee flavoring and a pool of chocolate. It went well with the gelato. The cookies were perfectly crispy and just the cherry on top. This definitely made the night feel more special! All of the employees we interacted with were pleasant, friendly, and nice. The restaurant is located in a small cluster of restaurants, bars, and cafes in Downtown. The area around the cluster was pretty desolate at night, but the restaurants were lively and had a charming environment with a ton of soft lighting. Absolutely some of the best Italian restaurants in LA. Service was amazing and they really took care of us here. We ordered the margarita pizza and the bruschetta salad and it was some of the best entrees we had in a while. It's also a beautiful restaurant in the middle of downtown LA. They have a really nice outside terrace area and the inside is a nice dark and sophisticated vibe. Very very nice for a date night. Pro tip, if you book a table here with the Capital One dining experience, you get free drinks and free dessert. We arrived and our table was ready on time, which almost never happens with large groups in LA. Service overall was outstanding. Every server we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and on point with timing. Drinks were kept full, plates cleared at the right time, and nothing ever felt rushed. The food was excellent -- great flavors, fresh ingredients, and beautiful presentations. The only small note would be that the pork chop was a bit on the salty side, but everything else was spot on and really well executed. The group shared a ton of dishes and everyone left happy. After watching a cooking show and then being inspired to find the best ragú in LA, I came across Rossoblu! Made a reservation through the Yelp app for dinner on a Saturday night. The ambiance had a cool urban feel with a beautiful mural on the wall. We sat indoors and it did get a little loud once the restaurant was full. For our starter we got the bread basket because I was dying to try some focaccia bread and it did not disappoint! The bread basket came with 3 types of bread (focaccia, ciabatta, and a cracker type) and 3 spreads. The focaccia bread with anchovie butter was my favorite combo! We also got the brado with parmesan dumplings, very interesting, it tasted like parmesan tofu, I wouldn't get it again. For the mains we ordered a pizza 1/2 salami honey, and the other 1/2 fungi. The mushroom/fungi pizza was amazing and I would definitely get this again! Then the dish we mainly came here to try, was Olympias Tagiatelle which has a ragú sauce! Wow! So delicious and fresh, I definitely recommend trying! One of the nicest group prix fixe menus I've ever had! If you want a celebration that is yummy classy and fit for a king this is the place! Elegant feels with casual vibes and most importantly doesn't leave you hungry. My gf was celebrating a birthday and had a huge group so she setup a nice long table on the patio area. Super impressed with the level of privacy we got as the rest of the restaurant was on a different upper level so the party felt that much more intimate. Service was perfect and they did a great job portioning out our plates making sure every couple of people had another plate they could grab from. It was all family style and sometimes you don't feel like you get enough to share but the portions were perfect and the amount of food served for our group was excellent. There was a prix fixe menu curated by my gf I'm sure but the food selected was divine. We had lasagna which was the highlight for me, ravioli, salads, breads, chicken, steak, all the varieties you would want at an Italian place. Everything was amazing. Presentation is no joke. Plated in a way that everyone had portions and a beautiful piece to grab. If you ever want to cater an event or have a really nice banquet style dinner for all age groups and food types, the menu here will match any occasion. One of the most memorable meals I've had so far this year! Yes that's how great my experience was. The restaurant isn't particularly big, but it has a spacious patio area. The mural and the full mirror wall made the place feel bigger. The service was absolutely top-notch, and they offer valet parking. For starters, we ordered Rossoblu focaccia, blistered green beans, and mixed baby greens. I loved the focaccia! It was fresh and served warm with three spreads. The mixed baby greens had a refreshing minty dressing. As for the mains, we tried Olympia's tagliatelle, prosciutto tortellini, and duck ragu. All of them were delicious. I appreciated how the kitchen adjusted the portions based on the heaviness of the dish, so you didn't feel stuffed. The duck ragu had an earthy flavor. We ordered a bottle of wine, but they also have a list of creative cocktails. For dessert, we tried gelato and tiramisu. The gelato portion was very generous, probably more than you'd get at a gelato shop. I loved the tiramisu. It's not your traditional tiramisu; instead, the layers were distinct, and one of them had an unique chewy/gooey texture. Overall I highly recommend Rossoblu! Service and ambience were great. Food was also good. We ordered many items for a group of seven so we all got to taste and experience each item. Some things were standout and exceptional. Others were good. We also enjoyed cocktails, which also arranged from good to exceptional. Nothing that wasn't enjoyable. Will definitely come back with my wife. read more

The food was incredible and the service put it over the top. The In Brodo took us right back to our honeymoon in Bologna, and the pasta was expertly made. Our waiter was Jonté who had wonderful customer service and perfect recommendations of wine for my boyfriend to pair for his entire meal.
