    Cheeseburger
    Jeff C.

I liked it. Came in for some dinner. Inside is warm and stylish. A good amount of seating. I like that it's mostly booths. There's also bar seating. It's a good place for couples or small groups. I started off with the fried coconut prawns. They were pretty good. I got the cheeseburger for my main and it was great. Juicy with great flavors. The fries were good and I liked the little horseradish sauce they give. It even goes great on the cheeseburger. Portions were just ok though. If you're a low-key fatty like me you'll definitely need an appetizer and main to get full. Still a lot of hype around this place right now. Reservations are definitely recommended. They do open up the bar seating for walk-ins. I was there a little after opening and the wait was more than an hour. Service was good. Friendly staff. There's street parking but you might have to walk a block or two.

This place was on my to go list- and I was finally able to get a reservation. Food was really good. However, the service needs improvement. We felt like our waiter was in a rush to leave our table. Would go back again. Parking is easy to find in the surrounding streets. Ambiance was nice too. It gave such a cozy vibe!

10/10!!! It's rare to have a spot where you get lost in the experience. Been here twice now. Once with foodie bestie girlfriends (table) and now with my husband (bar) and both were amazing experiences. Todd was our server this time around and embodied class, style, and smoothness. We had the best date night. Highly rec the the mole Negroni, yuzu marg, snap peas, loaded potato, and rib eye. Wine was excellent. My husband said Todd was "an absolute stud". Can't recommend enough. Can't wait to return with more friends.

I finally got a reservation for one of the hardest restaurants to get into in LA for my foodie friend and I. YES, the hype is absolutley worth it. The location is very unique. It is in a secluded neighborhood with plenty of parking. The outside of the restaurant is very quiet, but once you enter, it is dim lighting, loud music, the sound of the bartenders shaking up drinks, and lots of laughter. I came on a Tuesday night, and everything was great, but the service could have been better from our server who was not as attentive. I think each time we had to flag her down because she passed by our table so quickly. We had to order the garlic bread, loaded potato fritters, ode to chez cheeseburger, and the skillet cookie. ALL of it was so delicious. -The garlic bread was so warm and soft. In each bite you got a bite of the warm butter and garlic. -The potato fritters were so unique. It was extra loaded with parmesan cheese, and the cream cheese was so fluffy, it made every bite enjoyable. I suggest opening it up to get a bite of the chives and bacon also. I also tasted a hint of lime zest in each bite. -The burger was my favorite of all. This burger was so juicy and tasty. I was very impressed with the juiciness of the thick patty that was in the burger. The bun was so warm and soft. It had a unique taste that could have come from the fondue or the onions. The burger is big enough to split. I highly recommend trying it out. -The skillet cookie honestly had me lost for words. Each bite was delicious from the warm cookie, rich cold vanilla ice cream, and the salt flakes on top. Do not skip on this dessert. As for drinks, my friend got an orange wine, and I got an old fashioned. Both were perfect to our liking. There was plenty of bar seating available for walking in. I think this will be my go-to girls' late night out spot or elevated happy hour spot! Try getting that reservation or grab a seat at the bar. You will not be disappointed!

Hermon's is definitely one of those spots that lives up to the hype. Reservations are so hard to get that we showed up 15 minutes before opening and there was already a walk-up line forming. They only have 18 bar seats, which makes it feel super intimate, and they offer valet which was a nice touch. We ordered the loaded potato fritters (which honestly don't even look like potatoes in the best way possible), the garlic bread, and the happy hour burger. The garlic bread was probably the only thing we'd skip next time. My boyfriend got two beers, but I lowkey regret not ordering the Mai Tai because it looked so good. Overall such a fun experience and definitely a spot we'll be back to.

Wow what a mind blowing experience here. Hermons definitely lives up to ALL the hype and no wonder why it's sooooo hard to find a reservation on Resy. The ambience is incredible and the service was also amazing. They really know what they're doing. The bar in the middle is beautiful and so welcoming for walkins. Food highlights for appetizers are tuna crudo, potatoes pave - make sure to get the trout crudo on it (kinda taste like lox and bagels but better), and the beef tartar which has a spicy kick to it! The potatoes are likely the best potatoes I've ever had in my life!! For main, we LOVED the branzino!!!! Wow the tomatoes on top were so sweet and delicious. They paired this dish sooooo well with the sauce and dill on top. definitely a MUST TRY!!!! I thought they steak frites was good but I've had better- maybe the sauce was a little light on it. Yuzu margarita was also so delishhhhh!!!!! I'm already looking for a resy to book to go back :)

Got a res at Hermon's on a Friday night and felt like I'd won the lottery! They are hard to snag - you either have to get lucky refreshing for a random day, or be strategic for when the reservations open up. We arrived at 5:45 and were seated promptly for our reservation. We ordered a dirty martini and yuzu marg (happy hour!) and the happy hour burger, as well as the tuna crudo, loaded potato fritter, snap peas, and two sheet vongole. We originally wanted fries and garlic bread, but our waitress suggested we swap to the potato fritter for their more quintessential dish. Drinks and crudo came out first and quickly. The crudo was fresh and light - loved it. The drinks were strong but well-mixed. Very good! Next came the snap peas which had great flavor with the muhammara. Then we got the potato fritter. This was decadent but also very satiating. While it was yummy, it was also quite heavy, and could've done with a smidge more balance. The burger and two sheet vongole came last as our entrees. The burger was juicy and delicious. Vongole was also tasty for a few bites but the flavor profile felt similar to the potato fritter, with cream and cheese. It felt heavy quickly. We had to try dessert and opted for the lemon baked Alaska for something unique. This was tasty and the meringue was perfect. Service was excellent and the vibes were great. Next time we would order the garlic bread, steak frites, and cookie skillet and call it a day.

I've been wanting to come here for awhile now and finally snagged a reservation here! We arrived just before 6pm and our server kindly squeezed in a couple happy hour drinks and their famous cheeseburger before the cutoff, which was such a nice touch. What we ordered: Garlic bread (9/10): buttery, garlicky heaven. Just order it. Chopped chicories salad (8/10): sweet and garlicky. Good, but a bit much after a few bites. Ode to Chez cheeseburger (8/10): cooked medium rare by default. Solid.. though my partner loved it more than I did. Two sheet vongole (10/10): The standout entree. Loved everything about this unique dish. Lemon baked Alaska (100/10): I may have just found my new favorite dessert. Everything felt intentional from the decor to the way the food is prepared. Also the ambiance strikes that perfect balance of cool and cozy. Definitely a strong date night spot that we will continue to visit!

have been trying to get a resy here since it opened and its IMPOSSIBLE. tried to walk in at opening, they opened at 5 and came at 5:10 pm (there was already a line) and had to wait an hour once seated we ordered everything we saw rec online, got the - green goddess salad, garlic bread, scallop crudo, two sheet vongole, burger, lemon baked alaska. everything was just fine LOOL. if anything the vongole was super unique and ive never really had anything like that before- creamy, and zesty with clams

Had a co-worker put me on to this restaurant, which I wasn't even aware of, so decided to head over after a movie the other night. No reservations were available, tried waking in but there was an hour wait, so for on the wait-list anyways and was she to get a take in about 25 minutes. Not bad. Started off with cocktails because that's just what we do. The Mai Tai was your traditional Mai Tai with the runs, Curacao and orgeat. Good flavor and loved the presentation. The blood orange daiquiri was different but also has good flavor. Seems the Daiquiri changes based on fruit in season, which is fun. For food, we started with the scallop crudo. Scallops were perfect, the tangerine didn't give an overbearing citrus flavor while the red onion have some texture. But the dish also didn't necessarily stand out as being memorable, but was still good and fresh. For entrees we went with the vongole and the burger. The vongole was very interesting, didn't think I've had anything like it before. Almost like if a lasagna and a pizza had a baby. So much going on and so much forgot with the clams, guanciale, parm, crab and breadcrumbs for texture. Just a really yummy entree. The burger was also very good and definitely passes the eyeball test when it is sitting right in front of you. The meat is covered in a soubise fondue which adds so much forgot and richness to each bite. A very good burger. Overall, great newer restaurant to the Los Angeles food scene. Drinks were quiet, as was the good, and service was great as well. Definitely a nice place to take a date or meet with friends for a couple drinks. So grab a reservation, sit down and enjoy!

My true rating is really a 3.5 as i had mixed feelings about my first go around. Glad to have made it down to Hermon's as reservations are not easy to come by. We actually just walked in right before they opened and was lucky enough to get a table. Garlic Bread - Probably my favorite part of dinner as usual. When you get the middle of the cuts where the garlic is, you too will fall in love. The bread had an amazing crisp on the outside and soft fluffy texture in the inside! Yellowfin Tuna Crudo - I am not sure what it was about the tuna, but I was not to impressed. A little too chewy for my liking. Branzino Collars - Loved the mix of Buffalo sauce and the branzino. Something I would not have thought of myself but it works especially when you're dipping it with blue cheese! BE WARNED - IT IS VERY BONEY SO EAT WITH CAUTION. Steak Frites - Maybe I am spoiled by my time in France but I was not as impressed with the steak. The steak was a bit rough for my liking and the sauce seemed to be missing something that I could not put my finger on. Skillet Cookie - Small cookie and ice cream - a bit pricey for what it is but always yummy and can't go wrong. Will be making a second trip here to give it another go as the vibes were there! Though maybe it was just me but I felt like our waiter was not happy to serve us that day but i know we all have bad days and that is okay! Parking - limited residential street parking but they do have valet in their parking lot.

If I only had the burger, I would give this place five stars. I don't even like onions on my burger, but they just fit so perfectly and they're grilled enough where you don't feel the texture of them if you're kind of a raw onion hater like me. They just add to this perfect tasting burger. The steak and frites were fantastic. We got way more shrimp than we bargained for with the coconut fried tiger prawns and then those potatoes! They call them potato fritters but it's really potato pavé. Good lord! We end with the Alaskan meringue with its cold center was superb. My friend ordered the tiny tini and she said it's her perfect cocktail. It's just her size; she doesn't like a full drink and that one was perfect. Can't wait to go back and try something else and maybe just have another one of those burgers. I also want to sit up at that bar because it's absolutely gorgeous. I've never seen a restaurant where the expediting area was inside the bar area. Interesting.

My husband woke up at 8 a.m. just to secure a reservation here for my birthday, so we were genuinely excited to try this place. Unfortunately, the experience felt rushed from the second we walked in. Before we were even properly greeted, we were immediately told they needed our table back by 7:15. Our reservation was at 5:45. We were seated all the way in the darkest corner next to the swinging kitchen doors, which already set the tone a bit off. Our server was kind, but overall the service lacked attentiveness. My husband reminded them right before dessert that it was my birthday, and they still forgot to put a candle on it. As for the food, the happy hour menu is really only worth it for the burger. The burger itself was genuinely great, the caramelized onions were delicious, though there was slightly too much mustard for my taste. No major complaints there. The cocktails, however, were disappointing. The martinis tasted heavily batched, which is a huge red flag at this price point and level of hype. My husband's yuzu margarita was mid at best. If you're charging LA cocktail prices, guests expect drinks made fresh, not pre-mixed. I also think the menu pacing and pairings need work. Pushing fries alongside loaded potato fritters is way too much starch. A salad pairing recommendation would make far more sense. The citrus endive salad was actually lovely, though I think adding a few chopped dates would elevate it with texture and subtle sweetness. Now the bolognese... genuinely one of the worst I've ever had. There were maybe five noodles in the bowl and the sauce tasted alarmingly close to canned Manwich. IYKYK. Dessert was equally underwhelming. There were only two options, and the cookie honestly tasted like something you could get at Chili's. For a restaurant with this much buzz in LA, the dessert program especially needs serious elevation. Hire an incredible baker and create signature dishes beyond the burger. Another issue: every dish came out within about 10 minutes, to the point where I actually had to ask them to slow the courses down. I have never had to do that at a restaurant before. The whole experience felt transactional rather than hospitable. Ambiance was giving expensive hotel bar with fantastic art work. I loved the painting I posted below! There's clearly potential here, and I do hope the restaurant succeeds. Every new restaurant has a phase where it figures out what works and what doesn't. But right now, outside of the burger, this place feels more driven by hype than execution.

Already I'll be back again for a 3rd visit sometime soon. The staff were so friendly. Everyone who we interacted with, from the hostess to our waiter, were all just very friendly and it made us feel extremely welcomed into their restaurant. As for the food, everything was amazing. Probably can't go wrong with anything you order here. So far in my two visits to Yicha I've tried the following: 1. Bossam - ordered this both visits... truly amazing. First time having Bossam and it changed my life lol. The pork was cooked so perfectly.) 2. Bulgogi Burgers - wow. So good. The patty was juicy. The aoli was so tasty. Very filling. 3. Chicken Wings - also super good. Loved the "K-Ranch" sauce! The sauce was so good I even used it with the Bossam haha. 4. K-Town Nachos - I've never had nachos like this before! The crispy rice cakes were a unique take but really enjoying take on nachos. 5. Kongguksul - It's not something I would normally order as I'm not usually a fan of cold noodles, but since I was with a group and we ate family style it ended up on our list and I actually really liked it! First time I've enjoyed cold noodles. 6. Fuji Apple Eggrolls - Amazing. Never had any type of an egg roll dessert before. It was extremely flavorful and a great way to end our dinner.

"Yicha" more like "Yi-naw."…read more I really wanted to like this place, but the experience just didn't justify the hype or the prices. The food looked like it was trying very hard to be trendy and "experimental," but underneath all of that, most of the dishes were surprisingly bland. Not bold, not nuanced, just lacking flavor altogether. For a restaurant positioning itself as elevated Korean-inspired food, the actual taste felt forgettable. The portions also felt wildly overpriced for what you get. Small plates are one thing when the flavor delivers, but paying premium prices for tiny servings that don't leave an impression is another. It honestly felt more like paying for branding and neon lighting than for quality food. And the biggest red flag? The restaurant was nearly empty at 7:30 PM on a Saturday night. In Highland Park where good spots are packed on weekends, that tells you a lot. Atmosphere and cocktails can only carry a restaurant so far if the food itself isn't giving people a reason to come back. I already know the response will probably mention "modern interpretations," or "playful experimentation," but none of those things excuse bland food and poor value. Reinventing a cuisine is fine but .... it still has to taste good.

I truly think that every staff member we walked by from the door to our bar seats said hello and welcomed us to the restaurant. I don't know how to describe the level of service other than it was Masterclass. Special thank you to Wolf, our bartender/server a the upstairs bar. Yes his name is Wolf, and he's just as awesome as his name. So friendly and attentive. As for food, Wolf recommended we try the biscuits and I'm so glad he did because it was not something that I would have ordered had it not been for him. Literally the best biscuits I've ever had in my entire life. There is no other biscuit that comes close. It's exactly as it is described on the menu... flaky and buttery. It's an experience, truly. Even if biscuits were not what you thought you were going to order, just get them anyways. You have to try them. Just do it. GET THE BISCUITS! Other than the biscuits, we got the following: Calamari - some of the best I've had in awhile. Crunchy and crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Cooked perfectly. Hanger Steak - I didn't specify the doneness but it came rare which was perfect for me. The steak was great, I enjoyed every bite, but the mashed potatoes were EPIC lol. Burger & Fries - The fries in particular were amazing. HUGE portion, very crispy, and well seasoned. As for the burger, I liked the simplicity of it. However, I think it was way over cooked. I personally like my burgers to be a bit more juicy and medium doneness. The Bill - beware of the 4% surcharge. I don't really understand these things. Just price the food how you want to price it rather than adding a 4% surcharge to the final bill. Also, their suggested tip is calculated using the Total including tax rather than the subtotal. So basically you're tipping the tax lol. So aside from the bill and a little underwhelming burger everything else was absolutely incredible.

The meat is tasteless, processed, and worthless. AND it's small! It's covered and salt to cover the complete absence of flavor. No fresh toppings available (I asked) except garlic mayo to cover the flaws. That burger is a prominent, featured choice in a very small selection of entrees from which to choose, and it should be wayyy better than that. Instead it is a complete failure. I understand the restaurant business is hard, with rising costs, etc., but that is no excuse. WILL NOT RETURN Everything else was very nice.

I went with the cornbread, rice, and beef ribeye. -Edna's Sour Milk Cornbread $21 - so buttery, so good. The honey was delicious. This is the "must order" dish here. -Carolina Gold Rice $31 - high price for small portion size. Too salty. -Beef Ribeye $149 - pretty good. They cut the beef into slices. They also included bone marrow in the bone, grilled lemon, and sea salt. (We had a kinda funny issue with the ribeye, but the server so kindly helped us.) Good luck finding street parking. Some outdoor seating available. Bathroom is in the back. I would visit again!

They have food and the food is decent , pretty basic bar food but hits the spot. Their drinks are always good! They're made well and fast. Service is great. The bartenders are always attentive even in a rush. Ambiance doesn't get better than this. A retro arcade that offers a great vibe for a date night or even with a group of friends! Overall , I love the Barcade. Will always come back.

Still have never actually eaten here... but I've been here enough to talk about it…read more First off, this place is BIG. Like actually big. Good for birthdays, group hangs, events, all that. You're not cramped in here fighting for space. Game-wise... don't come here expecting anything crazy. There's nothing super serious for hardcore gamers, no rare cabinets or anything you're gonna geek out over. It's more like solid, familiar stuff. That said, it does work really well as a date spot because there's a lot of co-op games, so you're not just standing there awkwardly -- you actually have something to do. Now the food... I still haven't gone deep into it, but the wing deal is actually a good deal for these times, which is rare. That alone makes it worth pulling up on a Tuesday. Menu is kinda big though, and anytime I see a big menu like that I start side-eyeing the kitchen a little bit... like yeah some of this gotta be frozen But overall? It's a good spot for wings and beer without spending Ye Rustic money. If you're trying to keep it chill and not blow your wallet, this is a solid move. Not a gamer spot, not a foodie spot... just a good hang.

I was planning to have a few beers again but when I saw the prices and played it safe. Had ONE 16oz beer $9.25 and the final price was $11.56! Obviously added charges ( I did leave a tip so it really cost me $13.56) Seriously it's 12 noon on a Tuesday??? I've traveled to many states and also overseas and have paid this much for a TOURIST location. Highland park is not that kind of place where charging this much for a single beer makes sense. Will I come back? Absolutely not I'm reading lots of reviews and seeing proof of this place up charging customers and now I'm telling you the same this place is not worth your hard earned money. IF this place served 20oz pints my review would not have been so concerning. My advice to this business is lower your prices or more people will be opting out of this place. I was planning to bring my wife sometime but on second thought I don't think it's worth it. I can spend this kind of money at a more upscale bar with a coastal view. There was a man sitting at the very end of the bar with his laptop and he acted like he was on something. Kept getting g up and walking behind the bar to grab canned drinks over and over. He must have been an owner/manager? My man, maybe if you stopped drinking your own supply the beer prices would be lower. Try to taste your food the speed you were eating looked like you were about to have a heart attack. Pros; it's a bar that opens at 12 Cons: ridiculously high beer prices

Glassell Park is a hidden neighborhood in Los Angeles, anyway, and if you don't know what you are looking for, you might zip right past W&S, as we did. Parking is hit and miss, but there are side streets and you will find a space if you give yourself an extra 15 minutes before you come. The neighborhood is mysterious to me, sort of pricey grunge & hipster, iykwim. But! Once you are inside, you are in a completely different world. Bright, clean, genteel, muted, with dappled sunlight dripping through various apertures and alighting in a soft glow here and there on shining metal tables. It's beautiful. Some catchy upbeat contempo-pop music streamed steadily at just the right volume overhead. I found myself resisting the temptation to get up and dance. There are several rooms from which to choose, but I wanted to be seated on the wine-red suede banquette that gave me a view of the whole restaurant and out onto the tree-canopied street. From the time we arrived to the moment we left about an hour later, we were showered with warm smiles and attentive service. And the food? Exquisite. See my pictures. It was hard to choose. One tiny disappointment was they were out of the biscuits that I wanted to start with, but I enjoyed the crusty tender Clark Street bread slices served with warm creamery butter instead. It only got better from there. The two bowls we ordered were filled with fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection, topped with an egg prepared as we requested, i.e., over medium. The portions are modest and it was all so good, we didn't take anything home. We ordered coffee and were brought two tall steaming mugs of Americano, smooth, dark, and delicious. Best of all was the Lemon Lavender cake, a seasonal specialty. Honestly, it might be one of the best, moistest, most flavorful and elegant cakes I have ever had. So fantastic, that I just ordered some lavender buds (if I don't collect them from our garden) to replicate it at home. I don't drink much alcohol but if I did, I would head here for one of their experiences or tastings -- they have a formidable list. Check all this out. And hurry if you want to have Lemon Lavender cake.

Everyone also didn't feel particularly welcoming, from the hostess to the waitress (no smiles). Thankfully, we were seated outside for some fresh air, although the warm murky smell still lingered a bit outdoors. The menu seem fairly limited since nothing really stood out to me as especially exciting. I've studied the menu prior before going, and was only looking forward to their burger, but they didn't have it during dinner apparently. While the dishes were descripted very well on the menu, there was no depth in flavors. I'm talking about the pork belly, lamb chops, tartare, Spanish octopus, and especially the seasonal pasta. I'm happy that it wasn't overly salty, but overall the food tasted mediocre and felt a bit basic. I'm only saying this because I could make it myself, at least the lamb, fatty pork belly, and pasta. Portions were also on the small side. Service was a bit slower as it took some time to get seated and receive our food, and one of our dishes was forgotten until we reminded the staff after already finishing most of the meal. On the positive side, we were able to find easy street parking about a block away, and the restaurant itself has a cozy ambiance that would probably be great for a chill dinner with some wine. However, my group left still feeling very hungry and unsatisfied. To be fair, we came in hungry, and the portions and long wait didn't help.
