I came for a night cap with drinks and was thoroughly impressed! I'll start off with the location. It's a bit hidden and nondescript. I couldn't find the signage but saw a lot of windows with huge curtains and that's where it was. I entered and was greeted by a nice guy, he pointed us over to the bar since that's what we were after. The bar top was empty and plenty of seating for me and my partner. We were so impressed with their selection of gins!! It is so difficult to find a bar in LA that has a great gin selection that doesn't include the basics. This bar had truly so many gins I hadn't ever heard of so I was ecstatic. Their bar menu is carefully crafted by the genius himself, Spencer, who ended up being our bartender! Wow! What privilege. We decided to get the Vesper and Tuxedo #2. Both incredibly smooth and crisp! So refreshing. Wow! And the glassware! Spectacular attention to detail. The cocktails were crafted perfectly by Spencer and he was so kind!! He even refreshed our martini glasses with new frozen glasses to keep our drink cool. That attention to detail! Spencer, the GOAT. We ordered a bar trio tower and it was great for snacking. Came with chips and cheese, olives. I loved how the cheese paired with my martini. I ended my experience with a classic gin martini with lemon twist and of course it was perfect. If you enjoy gin martinis, this is your place! Where do I even begin? This restaurant is dramatically overpriced and falls short in almost every aspect of what you would expect from a restaurant charging premium prices. Our reservation was for 8:30 p.m., but we weren't seated until 9:00 p.m. To make matters worse, there is virtually nowhere to wait. Guests are left standing outside on 3 random few tables. The hostess never even told us where to wait--I was standing directly in front of her, unsure of what to do because there wasn't enough space inside. Meanwhile, staff were constantly walking in and out through curtains that seemed intended to create an exclusive atmosphere but instead made the entire entrance feel awkward and disorganized. Once we were seated, our waitress was the highlight of the evening. She was friendly, attentive, and did a great job explaining the menu and the nightly specials. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. Every dish we ordered was excessively salty. The cocktails arrived only half full, with so much ice that there was barely any actual drink to enjoy. Even the table setting was poorly thought out--the oversized silverware constantly slid off the small plates. The restaurant seems far more focused on looking upscale than actually delivering a premium dining experience. Basic details were overlooked throughout the meal. Tables were "cleaned" with a dry napkin, leaving visible streaks and food residue behind. Dessert was brought out without a plate, with nothing more than a spoon placed directly on the table. Attention to detail is what separates great restaurants from average ones, and unfortunately this place misses the mark at every turn. I won't be returning. In my opinion, this is another trendy Los Angeles restaurant that's trying too hard to be something it's not. Unless significant improvements are made, I wouldn't be surprised if it follows the same path as many other overhyped restaurants that quickly disappear. The food is nothing memorable, and the overall experience certainly doesn't justify the price. Save yourself the time and money and dine somewhere else. read more

The furniture, the lighting, and all the wood - absolute vibes. It definitely does not feel like you are in Silverlake. When you enter through the curtains it feels like you're transported to a different place entirely. The service was outstanding, attentive, but not overly attentive - which made for a perfect date night. Everyone was very friendly and pleasant, and actually very easy to chat with. The cocktail menu is vast. We we tried the Greenhouse Martini and loved it! Probably in the top three martinis I've ever had in my life. The cocktail was made with gin, tomato water, olive brine, and basil oil. The food was absolutely fantastic. And we ate every single bite. We don't usually finish everything we order, but here we definitely did. No leftovers! We had the Rosemary and Onion Focaccia, Mozzarella di Bufala, Cavatelli al Limone, and the Pollo di Bello. The bread was fantastic with the mozzarella. The pasta was flawlessly al dente and seasoned to perfection. The Pollo di Bello was an exceptionally breaded chicken cutlet covered in a shallot soubise. We finished with an Apricot Crostata. From our first bite to our last crumble of dessert - an exceptional meal. We will be back! read more

Was able to snag a later reservation here for my friend and I to check out. Comes complete with no sign and curtains to hide behind. Very 90s of them. The ambiance is very 70s and we really enjoyed the accompanying playlist for the night that matched it. The servers were on top of of everything and very pleasant. The food was good. The pasta dish being the best but wish it had a little more spicyness to it. The expensive peaches with chunks of parm and the eye dropper of balsamic was the real disappointment and a bit ridiculous. The chicken cutlet was superb but get the sauce on the side. It's too salty. It kills the lemon on the cutlet. And dessert was perfect. They are soon to be expanding onto the patio I hear. read more

This new addition to Silverlake is absolutely chic with a gorgeous ambiance and moody interior. Service was strong from the friendly hostess to the servers. The cocktails were great though the food was a bit forgettable and on the pricey side. Bar Trio - 3 1/2 stars overall. 5 stars for the tasty candied nuts, 4 stars for the house made chips, 2 1/2 stars for the fried olives that didn't taste fresh at all. The presentation was chic though! Penne di Bello - 3 stars. This was quite bland and a bit forgettable. Definitely much better with Parmesan and additional seasoning, though still a bit weak. Lamb Chops - 4 1/2 stars. Best dish of the night. This is a rather small portion for $62, but the 3 lamb chops were cooked perfectly and were delicious. This is served on radicchio panzanella , which was 3 tasty crouton bits atop a basic radicchio base. Assorted cocktails - 4 1/2 stars. They definitely do a dirty martini right and have a great wine selection. Overall, I feel this space is off to a good start and I'd definitely come back for cocktails but may pass on dinner. read more

A solid experience at this new Italian restaurant in Silverlake. Currently, it operates like a speakassy, so it was tricky to locate since there weren't any signs and the interior was covered by curtains. But that does make the experience super exciting! My two friends and I shared a variety of dishes: -Osso Buco alla Milanese: My favorite dish of the night. The oxtail portion was pretty generous. The meat was mostly tender and had good flavor. Saffron risotto was good too, but I wish there was more. -Neapolitan Gelato: This was good, but I wish the gelato was softer. The cherry topping was delicious though. -Tiramisu: Solid, but way too many chocolate shavings for my liking which overpowered. -Penne di Bello: The al dente texture was good and I loved the sauce which was sharp and rich. A bit pricey for a small portion of pasta though. -Suppli Amatriciana: These were okay. I wasn't the biggest fan of the rice inside which was a bit hard. My favorite part was the shredded pecorino on top of the suppli and the sauce the suppli was sitting on which both added a lot of flavor. -Fritto Misto: My group's least favorite dish. The fried shrimp and calamari were just okay, nothing special. The shrimp heads made up a significant portion of the dish which my group wasn't the biggest fans of. While I have critiques for many of the dishes, everything was generally good and not bad. The interior was nice; great for dates and intimate gatherings. The lighting wasn't ideal for taking pictures, but good as mood lighting. The service here was great and our server was attentive and kind. He explained the specials to us well. Cool vibe and surprisingly intimate spot...felt like we were transported to Milan once we stepped behind the curtains. Osso Bucco was definitely the standout dish, though also enjoyed the Orecchiette and Cavatelli al Limone. Cocktails are solid and the Bar Trio was a fun accompaniment. They did a nice job of pacing our meal and set plates out for sharing. Our table was unsteady and we were seated right as you come in, killing any sense of atmosphere. Small but appealing bar, but couldn't make up for the fact that this is obviously one of those places that is trying hard to create a vibe while ignoring the fact that a catchy playlist can't overcome a lack of remarkable food that comes with a $$$$ tab. The ambiance is beautiful, smaller restaurant with great esthetic. Staff is very friendly. I went with a couple girlfriend and we started with the focaccia bread each ordered a pasta. The bread was basic, decent focaccia. The pastas were also OK but nothing to write home about. We had the red sauce penne, the pesto and the squash blossom. The cocktails were good. It is a small restaurant and bar inspired by Milan. I would say it is quaint and hidden. There is no sign with the restaurant's name outside. I didn't like the yellowtail carpaccio, thought it was fishy. The spring frisee salad was great and different. Many restaurants don't have frisee salads, and the dressing matched the salad well. The bar trio snacks were great to start with, and all were made in-house. The penne di bello was great, it is rich but cooked to perfection with the sauce. The tiramisu was fire, and a must-order! The service was amazing, which is hard to come by these days. It is a bit pricey, but I definitely would come back! I do hope to see them open some restaurants on the west side! Table top wobbled (manager told us they'd be working on it). Gin drink with tomato water, too small and almost so subtle it was easy to miss. Hamachi carpaccio pretty good. Penne pasta undercooked and the sauce lacked depth. We were comped with another pasta dish which was good. Breaded chicken pretty delish. (I'm blanking on the name of the dish). Tiramisu tasty. We noticed that the airflow wasn't great at the table. It was stuff and felt hot. After that I really just wanted to leave. We moved to the bar and stayed for another cocktail. End of story. We went last night closer to opening without a reservation. Luckily, there were 2 spots available at the bar. We were immediately seated and tended to by both bartenders. The restaurant itself is stunning. Perfect for a date night. We ordered the anchovy toast, blue tuna carpaccio, arancini and the lobster pasta, along with 3 rounds of one of their signature cocktails (The Paradiso) and a gimlet. EVERYTHING was fantastic with the lobster pasta being the star of the show! Seriously the best one we'd ever had in our lives. The entire staff were so incredibly and genuinely nice to us. I honestly loved all dishes but my favorites were the lamb, the clam pasta, the nerano pasta, the carpaccio, the mushroom salad... and then all of the little sharing bits to start. The drinks are outstanding too. I love the little Mar-tiny they do, so chic! A great way to end the night. The tomato martini is a must too, as it is fabulous. The wine and champagne selection is phenomenal and the sommelier's knowledge is so in depth. The overall aesthetic of the restaurant and the atmosphere is such a vibe and the service is great. I dinned here last night with another couple. We all REALLY enjoyed it. we ordered the rice balls, Yellow tale carpaccio, and Frisée salad to start. All were great! we then shared a Penne di Bello, was great. For mains, we shared Pollo di Bello, and Branzino. Both were great. I had a mezcal Negroni which was great. This place is a hidden gem. We did walk in on a Sat night and got lucky with two seats at the bar immediately. The restaurant is hidden behind thick velvet curtains so you really get a nice atmosphere inside with no idea you are in a strip mall. The vibe is romantic, classy, a mix of old and new world. Aesthetic of the decor is on point, love the glassware as well. Our bartender was super friendly, she made me a custom drink as I wanted something fruity but served up, every drink we got was stellar, some of the best cocktails we've had in LA and we've tried a lot of places. We also tried the beef tartare which was excellent. All in all an amazing date spot even just for drinks, would definitely recommend. Not sure why there are negative reviews but I think the place is just new. Definitely want to return for dinner! read more

Gosh dang, that was top notch! Granted I went in starving at 10pm with no reservation... but here I am, writing a review at midnight because it really was that good. My friend and I split the frisée salad, suppli, pollo di bello, and pesto pasta (called something fancier on the menu) and every single dish was the most perfect, delicious version of itself. If I wasn't in the middle of a divorce, I'd be back here once a week going hog wild on the menu. The service was also a step above. Above what? I don't know. Or won't say. But if you are hungry and able to make peace with the cost of eating out these days, definitely go here! read more

One star for the lovely service, and another for their good cocktails. But the food is a bummer, especially at this price point. They seem to care about Italian ingredients but the execution was not there. Dense focaccia (this shouldn't be so hard to get right) Very nice, pricey culatello served with underripe peaches. Spaghetti alla nerano lacking silkiness and flavor, overly cheesy with chunks of zucchini that were oddly bitter. A potentially lovely asparagus dish nearly drowned in hollandaise. Vongole with none of the deep, briny clam flavor it requires - in fact, almost no liquid at all, with rubbery clams to boot. They're charging over $35 for a plate of pasta. Come on. Honestly pained me to think about the far better, less expensive versions of these dishes LA has to offer. But as with many new restaurants here these days, sometimes you're just paying for vibes. And I can see why some are willing to, the space is nice! But it felt nice in the way the lobby of a hip new hotel is nice. Not one to typically write reviews but damn how disappointing. Showed up on time for our reservation, upon arriving our table wasn't ready which was fine, but instead we were told to wait outside with other people and to order drinks outside with no seating which felt off, not to mention the sketchy characters walking all around made our group feel unsafe. After 20 mins of waiting we were finally seated, service was so beyond delayed, missing drinks, wine poured in the most uneven ways amongst our group, ask for our desert and never received it, lipstick marks on silverware, felt very ignored. Not to mention we were celebrating a birthday and the table across received a candle and desert and we did not. After a $200+ tab of just drinks and a few shared entrees we were definitely left disappointed especially after all the hype of this place opening. A bummer for the birthday celebration.
