I received a wonderful haircut from Soo in October 2025 and was genuinely impressed, so I returned to her in summer 2026 ahead of a major event where I needed my hair to look exactly right. I asked her to trim about two inches off. Without asking me or explaining what she was doing, she cut a layer into the middle section of my hair. I have very fine hair that cannot support layers, and because this one landed about midway down, I was left with a frizzy, bowl-cut look in the middle and longer, visibly see-through ends hanging below it -- nothing close to what I asked for. What makes this worse is how avoidable it was. Toward the end of the cut, while she was hacking through these layers, she was busy chatting with her next client instead of paying attention to what she was doing to my hair. Because my first visit with her had gone so well, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and didn't say anything in the moment. The fallout was significant. I had to spend 10 hours researching stylists, booking consultations, and getting corrective extensions -- time I did not have before a major event -- on top of $1,000 to fix what should never have happened. The stylist I ultimately saw for corrections confirmed that my hair type should never have layers cut into it at all. I will not be returning, and I'd urge others with fine hair to be very cautious. read more

Just got my hair cut here. Ms. Soo was very kind and listens well to what you want. The haircut was super cheap and I got exactly what I wanted without having to explain and explain. It says by appointment only on here, but it says walk-ins welcome on the door and we walked in and she got us right away, even though it was about an hour before she closed. She's raised her prices to 25$ for women's cuts, which as far as I'm concerned is way below the market price for the area, but it doesn't show in her work. I think my hair turned out well. My hair was originally grown out with bleached dimensions. I wanted it to be darker brown and i think the color was right as i expected. The salon is nicely decorated, it just looks alittle bit old and messy. As she seems to be the only stylist. Her shop is located inside of Aspen Salon and Spa, where numerous other beauticians and hair stylists rent out a room to run their independent business out of. You can find her room by walking down the hall, and she'll be one of the last doors on your right. Soo charges $17 for men's cuts and $20 for women's. I love how she takes her time with your cut, and makes sure that she understands what you're asking for before she starts. I wanted her to trim my ends to get rid of any split ends and breakage, as well as work on blending the choppy layers my previous stylist had left in my hair. Before she began she noted that my layers had been cut in a v shape at the back, and confirmed whether I wanted to keep that shape or not before doing any cutting. When I confirmed the shape was fine, she began to cut my hair, but checked with me throughout the whole process to make sure that I was satisfied with what I was seeing so far. Due to her constant communication throughout the whole process, I left very satisfied with my cut. I went there for Japanese straightening but as soon as I washed my hair (about 3 days after, how she told me) my hair was the same like I didn't have the Japanese straightening. Then she blamed my hair, (I heard she has done that to many other clients too) but I have been to other hair salons many times and my hair stays straight for 6months to 1 year. She is there alone doing everything in a hurry and not delicate. When I go to get a haircut, I want an experienced hair stylist to give me the cut I want, and if possible, I'd prefer it not take an hour or two.
