If you're looking for a light salad bowl, perhaps with falafel, Roti may hit the spot with their nice salad/rice bowls and options for toppings. This was a pretty tasty lunch experience in the IDS plaza. Rosti is advertised as modern Mediterranean food, and they have a variety of food options including bowls and salads. They have a variety of topping options you can choose from to customize as well as a variety of sauces. I opted for the balsamic vinaigrette topping. There is a standard soda fountain, and you can also order in advance through their website. You will receive a mini pita loaf with your order as well. I found the bowl to be very good overall. The chicken was tasty and tender, and the vegetables were fresh and flavorful. The sauce was a nice compliment as well, and the saffron rice had a nice taste. Yum this place is really good! I went around 1pm on a Thursday and the line wasn't bad at all. It also moved quickly which was a plus. I got a half salad/ half rice chicken bowl with a variety of toppings and it was delicious. My bowl ended up being about $9.60 or so but the portion size was decent and the food is "healthier" so I didn't mind the price. I docked one star because the chicken was running low so I got a mini scoop but not a huge deal. The bowl is big enough already and I loaded up on toppings to fulfill my serving. I love the concept of this place and wish we had something similar in North Carolina. As others said, it's like the chipotle of Mediterranean restaurants. If you're familiar with chipotle, it is the same assembly line model. If you are further familiar with Cava, it is exactly that but not as good. It is Mediterranean style food where you can build your bowl or pita, choose the base (rice and/or salad), protein, and toppings. For the price, it's a bit expensive (~$16) when all is said and done. I think the food lacked bold flavors. It's not a bad option if you want a quick decent meal, but it's not the best. The space is super clean but small. How have I missed this place? Maybe because I am usually on the second floor, no idea, but I went to this location a week or so ago and it was fantastic. My wife and I got lamb pita pockets and they were stuffed with food, definitely very filling. The best part was the pita. It was warm, fluffy and tasted freshly baked. It is so hard to find a take-out place in downtown MSP which is open after 3PM. Fortunately Roti is open till 7PM located at IDS Center connected with Skywalk. Unlike the negative reviews, I recieved a welcoming excellent customer service. But again I went there later in the day so it was not crowded. You can pick your base (rice, gyro, salad), protein and toppings. My plate came out just over $10. The food was good, certainly not the best tho. It is like Qdoba Mexican food but Mediterranean version. It is conveniently located with longer business hours and has a clean dining area. I was excited to try another fast food Mediterranean place while in Minneapolis, and got the falafel pita to compare it to my favorite from Naf Naf. I came after work to take dinner back to my hotel and they didn't have any pitas available, but offered to make a fresh one while I waited (just about 5-10 minutes). The falafel also needed to be made, so everything was fresh! They filled the pita with four golf ball-sized falafel pieces, and I added the tomato/cucumber mix, purple cabbage, tahini, pickles, and their green shug sauce. The tomatoes and cucumbers aren't chopped as finely as Naf Naf, and neither are the pickles, but everything tasted good. I just think I prefer Naf Naf's pita over Roti's, as it's a bit thicker and softer. But I was still pleased with how much Roti filled their pita, and how much flavor was added from the ingredients (especially the green shug sauce!). The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. And since I had to wait a few minutes, they offered me a free baklava or cookie. I'll definitely return when I'm back in the area! The first time I went to Roti, I enjoyed my falafel wrap. The falafel was well-seasoned and the bread was soft. The second time I went to Roti, I ordered a chicken wrap that turned out to be inedible because it was drenched in so much sauce that the pita bread disintegrated. The chicken was also not great - the texture wasn't enjoyable and the flavor was forgettable. The third time I went to Roti, I remembered my first, wonderful experience with the falafel and ordered another falafel wrap. Unfortunately, there was so much sauce in my wrap that the bread once again disintegrated and became inedible. At least the falafel tasted good. I could easily down 6 of these without even feeling it - so light and so yum, melts away in your mouth! Do also try their grilled chicken shawarma! Chicken with quite soft and the side salad is nicely done. Also you can select from a variety of sauces other than the usual hummus and garlic. The combination of the grilled chicken with the hummus is too terrific to not help yourself to more than one serving. I ordered the build a meal salad bowl for $9.67 and chose Chicken Roti as my protein. You can have as many sides, toppings, and sauces as you like. The line was moving fast so I just asked for a little bit of everything and whichever sauces went best. I got the cucumber dill sauce on the chicken and balsamic vinaigrette on the salad. The meal came with 2 small pieces of pita bread. All the restaurants my friends and I have visited in Minneapolis have been expensive compared to Tampa prices. Such a great lunch spot in downtown Minneapolis. They have a ton of seating, so it's easy to meet a group of friends or coworkers for lunch and not have to carry it back to the office. The food is awesome. I'd describe it as "chipotle for Mediterranean food". Each guest chooses either a rice plate, salad, or a wrap and then customizes their order as the go down the assembly line. The ingredients are always fresh and taste delicious. They also have a variety of options for meat/vegetarian toppings. I prefer the chicken kabob; but I have tried the steak, salmon kabob, and the falafel, and each has been great. Also so obsessed with the pickles and the green shug sauce. If you don't mind a little extra spicy-ness in your food, definitely try it the green shug! In addition, the line can get a little long but the workers do a great job of getting people through quickly. I don't think I've ever waited more than 10 minutes. The food is fresh and it literally takes less than 2 minutes to go from ordering to having a lunch ready to go The process is simple - begin with either a rice bowl, salad, pita, or wrap and then follow by choice of protein, sides, and toppings. The total will vary but expect $7-10 Ordered - Rice Plate with Chicken Roti, Hummus, Tomato / Cucumber, Vegetables, and Feta Cheese topped by a delicious Red Pepper sauce (4/5). The rice bowl will fill you up but won't leave you with distaste or a 'heavy' feeling as if you Roti is a solid option and I'll probably visit it the next time I'm in the city. Wow! The lines are LONG! Don't wait til noon to go because the line curves out the door. It's inside the IDS, so it makes a great backdrop to the ambiance. I don't particularly like lamb very much, but the spicy lamb meatball was my favorite part. It was well seasoned and not too spicy. Sprinkled in feta with chopped cucumber, pickled onions, and tomatoes that were juicy, tangy, and full of flavor. Service was quick, but then and again, it is a weekend.
