They didn't finish the job. Left equipment and after damaging my home more, they are refusing to answer Any emails or calls, and in doing so they have created issues in our lawsuit to the parties responsible for flooding my home. They took the photos and were hired and paid to issue a statement on what happened to make it less hard on a single mother with a child that has special needs, to provide a home that isn't full of the remnants of some lazy company that failed to provide what they charged and took thousands to not complete. They hired kids for the most part, then had my home at their mercy and when i let them know the workers tried to get business from us outside of what we hired the company for, and that equipment was still here.. they showed to take pictures (likely for an insurance claim on the materials) then they left it' all here, including the mess from the damage they made, and all i wanted was it finished.. so they smiled and said they'd get right back to us, and that was that. Unlike them, I'm not in the habit of saying things im not able and willing to back up with more than my mouth and welcome any resolution. So let's start off by saying first that our monthly water bill has been rising for three months so we had to water company come out and confirm that it was not the meter or anything on their side so I called Roto-Rooter and ask if they do leak inspections and they said yes set me up for between two and four. I don't get a call until 358 from the technician or dispatch. I can't remember just to inform me that they do not do leak inspections not to remind you that I took off work for this. To those who are not interested in the whole story its simple... Good Customer service, arrived quick, follow Covid guidelines, worked quickly and professionally, but the amount they charge its ridiculous! It is as if they charge you from when you make the call up to when they leave. Even though they say they don't charge for the visit... so they come in, check what's the problem, make a quote and if you say no then its ok and they leave. In my case I had a water pipe leaking so no wasn't much of an option. They wanted to charge me a little over $365.00 to change a water pipe valve and to cut less than an inch of a half inch pvc pipe which the technician who was very professional did it in around 10 min. I wanted to have the anode rod of the water heater changed as well, which I already had bought and that was quoted to $375.00 (just for the labor) imagine if I hadn't already bought the rod myself. I couldn't have it changed since I didn't had $700 laying around. And that's was without a guarantee that he could actually change it because there was the possibility that it was sealed and impossible to open. I attached pictures so that you could see the 10 min labor worth $365.00. They gave a 1 year warranty for the work they did. Still, I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. We had a clogged kitchen sink drain over weekend. Not having need of a plumber in the recent past, I checked reviews. R.R. had a good rating and generally good reviews. Called Monday morning and a tech was there within a couple of hours. (The service from the phone rep was fine.) The tech was pretty professional. He asked about best way to bring his auger in and cleaned up when he was done. But as other people have discussed, the pricing is high. The tech quoted the work before even starting. It ended up costing $450 for a little less than 2hrs (arrival to departure). The tech only needed to run the auger. I had the p trap off already). Doing some checking after the fact, typical case cost for the area is approx $250 - 300. So just be cautious. read more

PROS: Tech showed up on time and work was done professionally. CONS: Pricing is 1-1/2 to 2 times higher than the market rate. There is no transparency in how they price and it seems that the tech will see how much they can get (especially if the customer is not aware of market prices) and then offer a small discount on what is a very inflated price. Jobs typically require a trip to purchase supplies that most plumbers carry in their van, resulting in even more labor at their $300+ hour rate. read more

I had router router in my home, gave me an estimate on a job that I specifically called them for,spent $6200 with them and still didn't get the job I wanted done. they had to come back four times,I've called him for the fifth time and told them I wanted my money back because they had to fix nothing. In fact caused more trouble. He told me he would be happy to send me a new technician out for a fee so basically these people beat me at $6200. my appointment was on a Monday and I kept getting put off till that Friday so when I called him the last time they were supposed to be up at my house between 8 AM and 10 AM and they never showed and when I called to find out why they told me that they had the wrong phone number. Roto-Rooter replaced part of my pipe with PVC and we keep having backups after having everything descaled and them overcharging and then blaming us for the backup, I had another plumbing company come out with a camera and the backup is caused by Roto-Rooter not trimming the pipe that they connected the PVC to so there is a lip on there and it's causing a backup every time the toilet is used so now we have to put that toilet out of service until we can figure out how to get this fixed because Roto-Rooter does not stand behind anything that they tell you, they charge double than anyone else, and their customer service is terrible. I would not recommend this company to anyone. We paid over $8,000 for the work that was done and it was not done correctly and they tried to blame us but after the camera showed they didn't do the job properly we are out $8,000. read more

Called Rotorooter on Saturday to set up a Sunday repair. The operator was friendly and we gave her a 4 hour window from noon to 4 pm when we would be available. At 2 pm and at 4 pm I got a call saying the repairman was running behind, but they couldn't give me an estimate on arrival time. The technician arrived around 5 pm. This was the only problem we had with their service. Zach Wilkins 0181 was friendly and knowledgable and was able to quickly fix our leaky hot water shutoff valve. He had the parts he needed with him in the van. The whole procedure was done in under an hour. They are available 24/7, which is very nice. read more

Was told on the phone they cannot quote price to snake a drain because pricing is different for every job. Tech shows up and says its $346 for any drain flat rate. I was telling him to wait while I was on the phone with another company because that seemed high, but he started anyway so I was stuck at that point. $346 seemed unbelievable for a 15 minute job. Help Plumming heating and cooling charges $97 for the same job, no fine print. Unhappy, I spoke with the business manager, and he begrudgingly offered me the online coupon, which was $60, after I expressed how absurd that price is, so still almost $200 more that other companies. When I asked how can they charge $350 for a job that multiple others charge $100 for, he said "Well I'm not going to match their price, and I don't have to compete with them" which is very true. So I'm here to let you know there is no competition, save yourself $200 on this simple job and go with literally anyone else. I'll make sure warning gets posted everywhere I can find it, hopefully you don't make the same mistake I did. read more

I had an extremely clogged kitchen drain. I tried to 'snake' it myself, no help. Called Plumber #1, who arrived 3 days later, also cabled the drain to no avail and still charged me $300. The next day, I called Roto Rooter, within 2 hours a representative was at my house checking out the issues. He dispatched a technician who arrived at 7pm (they dont charge for off-hours!) and ta-da! Problem Solved. Techician was extremely pleasant, gave me tips and tricks. Plus - you have a 30 day guarantee - if problem comes back in 30 days, they will come back fir free! Couldnt be happier! Called the company to come out for a basic drain cleaning due to a clog in the basement toilet. The technician came out later that day to perform the service, and after being made aware of the floor drain by the HVAC, did not end up capping it to avoid potential backup during the clog cleaning process. This resulted in part of the clog backing up into my basement and the floor around my washer, HVAC, and water softener. After making the tech aware and asking if he would be cleaning up his mess that was easily avoidable, it was done half way, only cleaning what was visible on the ground rather than under the washer or water softener. The technician advised that the company would send out a camera inspector to ensure that the job was done, and everything was clear. No technician arrived, and I had to make numerous calls to try and get someone out. When someone did finally come out, he said he could not do it because of his size and the space where the cleanout was, but someone else would be sent. Nobody was sent back out, no service was scheduled after calling again, and no call backs from leaving messages when I would be forwarded to other people. This company is nothing more than a scam with not performing services as promised, and I will be sure to pass these details along to the BBB for resolution since the company would not respond to me. read more

We had a gutter issue on the exterior of the house and he, for the most part, fixed our problem. Water Restoration came and brought with them all the equipment needed to get the job started on drying up my basement.They cleaned and sanitized the floor and had an air purifier turned on upstairs to get the odors out.They had air blowers and dehumidifiers set up in the basement.They did a good job and were very professional and caring. read more

Matt #2719 was great I have no problems with him. He was very friendly and educational. I called on Wednesday morning and the call center said they would be able to get someone to me between 945am and 145pm that day. I received a call around noon stating that they would were running behind but someone would be out to see me today. I received a text at 230pm stating that my "technician is on the way." At 5pm I called asking where the technician was and was told that they were running behind and they needed to move people to the following day. I told the call center that is unacceptable since I was told he was on his way and I didn't care if they needed to show up 9pm someone was to show up since I had already left work early. I received an other call at 830pm stating NO one would be out until tomorrow. NOT ACCEPTABLE to send a text that someone is on their way I leave work to accommodate your schedule to be hung out to dry plus lose money 2 days in a row for a 5% discount. read more

I typically like to go with local businesses, not large chains. However, I had water seeping into my bed room and needed help fast. These guys were great. Their call center kept me updated on delays and when I could expect the technician. Josh, my technician, was very good. He was professional, polite and very personable- a hard mixture to pull off. He found my problem, the quote was reasonable and he was quick and efficient fixing it. I will use these guys again for my next plumbing project...hopefully a nice long time from now. read more

The technician was great, but the initial scheduling was really awful. I had a sump pump replaced and he did a great job with the work on the second appointment. When I worked with the central rotorooter scheduling for my first appointment, I was given a 12-3 window for arrival. However, the technician didn't arrive until 6pm. Rotorooter called me a couple times indicating delays, which I appreciated, but they could never tell me how long the delay would be, which was pretty frustrating. By the time he arrived I was not available for him to complete the work, so I had to ask him to return. I worked with him directly to reschedule and the second time he was right on time. read more

My experience with Roto Rooter got off to a rocky start. The first day they cancelled their appointment. The second day they sent a technician that did not come prepared with the correct tools to complete the job and he broke one of the kitchen drain pipe fittings. The third day they sent Matt #2719 and he was able to fix the drain and repaired the pipe that was broken with a repair that I hope but question will last. I called on Friday night to get service on Saturday. They told me that I was scheduled from 10:00 to 2:00 and I would have priority, meaning closer to 10:00 than 2:00. I called at 1:30 because I hadn't heard anything. Turns out they scheduled me for 10:00 am in 2021. They said someone would be right over. I called back an hour and a half later wondering when "right over" plumber was gonna be there. Yep, he's finishing up and on the way. An hour later another call, he got held up, some else will be there in 20 minutes, finally showed up an hour after that. I sat home all day without being able to run water without it pouring onto my basement floor. When the plumber showed up she did a great job and make short work of my clog but it's a shame that it took so long to get someone there. I will probably never call rotorooter again. read more
