They sent out a man named Bill to my house to meet the insurance adjuster. Bill asked if I had decided on a contractor to perform the repairs. I told him that I was waiting to get the estimate from the insurance adjuster and I need to get multiple quotes from contractors before deciding. After he learned that I wouldn't give him the job without consulting with other people he just decided to leave. I asked him why he wouldn't look at the house and he told my insurance adjuster to the face that I already have a contractor. He then told me to my face that he wasn't going to estimate the job just so my friend could do the job off of his estimate. He would not even give me a business card and left. My girlfriend not believing how rude he was called him the next day personally. He told her the same thing it was extremely rude on the phone. He said that he would not deal with us as customers and only our insurance company. My opinion is that he was going to try and get as much money out of my insurance company as possible and do the repair first cheaply as possible and pocket the rest. Bill ruined any chance that SMB had for getting this job. The job was quoted for over $40,000 worth of damage. I can only hope that SMB finds this review and talks to Bill about why he was so unprofessional and rude. Bill if you're reading this I hope you realize that you were in the wrong and you've got a lot to learn about dealing with people.

Now, six years later I misplaced all of the insurance information and called Progressive but they said they work with like 8 underwriters and without the name of the underwriter they couldn't help me. Called and spoke with the owner of SMB and asked for a copy of the work done. I explained I was selling the house and just wanted a copy of what was done. Within a short time after placing a call to AAA, Steve was at our door. He was able to extract most of the water from our carpet. Before 10 a.m. our carpet had been removed and hauled away by Steve.
