His website allows you to get quoted (as long as you enter correct measurements, but that's on you)...it's very convenient and easy and you know what the cost will be up front. They showed up on time, got to work right away and finished the job to our satisfaction. My wife and I had built a garden box which Mike had his guys place and bury for us, which was not even part of the quote. Mike even picked up the extra compost we needed for the box. I don't typically post negative reviews but this man was EXTREMELY disrespectful in the manner in which he spoke with me. I read all negative comments on yelp prior to contacting companies, and often give the benefit of the doubt since everyone's experiences are different. I just spoke with Mike, gave him a brief explanation of what I needed done to my yard. He then proceeds to tell me "Let me interrupt you, I'm on a job site, you're speaking fast and I'm not sorry but I'm able to hear you." Fine, I slowed my speech down as if I was speaking to someone who had just learned English to ensure he could hear me properly. He still claims he's not hearing me well enough because I'm still talking fast (no one has ever claimed I speak too fast in my entire life) and speaks to me in such a condescending tone, disagreeing with me for things I'm telling him. This back and forth banter goes on for a bit and I decide this is going no where so I inform him that I do not like his tone and will not need his services. Bottom line, if you are unable to have a professional conversation regarding a quote while you are on a job site, may I suggest you A) don't pick up the phone and let it go voicemail so you can listen to it as loudly, as often and slowly as you need to in order to understand or B) if you do pick up and are unable to hear, simply ask them to call you back or you will call them back at a more convenient time where you can have a proper conversation. Lastly, it would do you some justice to take a course in professional communication. I don't know you or what is happening in your day/life and vice versa when I call to speak to you. It shouldn't be my concern that you are on a job site and are interrupted. On the contrary, if I was your customer, I would be irritated that you are fielding sales calls while on the job. TONE matters. You may have said "Sorry" and "I don't mean to be rude" but the tone in which you say those words makes a significant impact in the way it is interpreted. read more

I would highly recommend Mike @ RotorTillerGuy! I discovered a leaking sprinkler head on a Saturday evening a day before a week long trip. I've worked hard to keep the lawn nice and green during the summer heat. Therefore, I had to decided whether to turn off the sprinkers for a week risking brown grass upon my return or find an after hours irrigation specialist and pay an exorbitant amount to fix it. I chose the lader. I called several companies before reaching Mike. In fact I was surprised that he even answered the phone at 7:30pm.  Mike was very kind and offered to try to troubleshoot the issue via the phone. He requested that I send him pictures so that he could better access the problem. He was able explained the issue and proposed a solution since I was limited with time due to travel, Mike provided me with a list of items with pictures to purchase from the hardware store and detailed step by step instructions to fix the sprinklers and valve. I was initally overwhelmed since I'll had never repaired the sprinklers before. However,  his instructions were so detailed and simple that i took the chance. Contrary to what I have read about Mike's handling of customers on the phone, I found him to be extremely professional and knowledgeable about sprinkler repairs. He was direct and helpful. Once he understood my sprinkler issues through his diagnostic-like questions, he then anticipated that I could replace my sprinkler valves by myself and he was willing to walk through with me on the phone with information and instructions on the replacement process. He even texted me with pictures of parts and stuff that I needed. This weekend I successfully replaced my sprinkler system and was extremely happy that everything is working great now. Suspected I had a leak in the main water line to our house. Called and Mike was very helpful in providing advice on trying to figure things out. He was very honest about his immediate availability. In the end I did not use his services but he took the time to try and troubleshoot the issue and also suggested a plan of action to discuss with the water provider in hopes that some dispensation would be offered to me for addressing the leak and getting it repaired (not looking forward to the next water bill). Mike Georgia did an absolutely wonderful job on our new backyard lawn. Everything he did was as promised on his website and as he explained in his videos. In fact, it was his clear explanations in his videos combined with his clear pricing estimates on his website that helped seal the deal of us hiring him. He installed 2 new sprinkler lines for us. One for a pop-up sprinkler system and then other for a drip system. He installed our new WiFi enabled Rain Machine sprinkler timer. We chose the Medallian Plus grass. Mike arrived on time early in the morning and his guys began immediately to prepare the soil by Pick-Axing. While they were doing this, Mike went to go get the manuer from the Equestian center. BY the time he came back...the soil was rototiller once already and they began to install the sprinkler lines. They rototilled in the manuer a second time and then began to lay the sod. Mike thoroughly explained the watering process to establish the grass and even programmed the Rain Machine timer for us. In the end, we have a nice lush beautiful lawn our 2 year old daughter can play on. Now that the lawn is established we only water twice a week for about 7 mins each time and that is it. And the lawn has stayed near perfect. This is due to the excellent soil prep that Mike did before laying the sod which not many folks do properly. A house across the street from us had new sod put in and they did not prep the soil as well (I watched them do it)...and they lawn is already half dead. I would strongly recommend Mike to anyone wanting to put in a new lawn and in fact will hire him again in the future when we decide to redo our front lawn one day with the same drought tolerant grass variety. read more

I was incredibly impressed with Mike's willingness to talk to me about my sprinkler system issues over the telephone. I explained the issues that I have been experiencing, and he was immediately able to identify ways in which to rectify the problems. He suggested that, if I felt comfortable, I could undertake these repairs myself. The major benefit obviously being cost. He was happy to come out and fix these things himself, but I was encouraged by his honesty regarding how much money I could save by making the changes myself. We chatted for ten minutes about the process of the changes that I should make, and then Mike followed up with a series of text messages and pictures of the equipment that I needed. He also told me not to hesitate if I had any additional questions in the future. It's not often that you come across, by telephone, someone so professional and honest. We were encouraged to try RotoTiller Guy after reading the previous reviews but ended up with a pretty mixed experience. We completed the online estimate and hired Mike to clear away the old grass in our front yard and mix in compost, with the understanding that he would return at a later date to lay sod after we put in a new sprinkler system. Clearing the front yard was labor-intensive work and the price was fair. I have to say his team was great. They worked hard and did a good job. Unfortunately, at the end of the day they punched through the water main. The main pipe was in a weird position so it wasn't their fault, but I got the first uneasy feeling about this guy when he couldn't wait to get away! Being left with no water and a broken main under the sidewalk at 4pm is no joke and all Mike could offer was "it's going to be expensive". With no plumbers available, my kids and I spent the next 3 hours digging out the pipe and a lovely neighbor helped us fix it temporarily. Note that there was no offer from Mike to help dig. His excuse when I pointed this out was his guys were tired and it had been a long day! Not as long or expensive as mine! So, after several weekends spent relaying a main pipe and installing sprinklers ourselves we were ready for sod. Since there were no pipes involved we felt safe in getting Mike back as originally discussed. So I completed the online form again, played email tag for a few days and kept getting repeated requests for phone numbers which I'd already provided. The guy doesn't read emails! I finally phoned him and he had no clue who I was. We eventually fixed a date for laying sod but the last straw was when he said I needed to phone him nearer the time so he didn't forget!! PHONE HIM? Am I now this guys' secretary? Apparently, he works harder than anyone else (his words) and also the job wasn't going to pay him much. Needless to say I cancelled the job. We won't be hiring him again. If you want the basic grunt work done clearing away old grass then his team are good. His price for installing sprinklers was the most expensive by a long way out of four quotes. I have no idea about laying sod as I won't hand any more of our hard- earned cash to someone that arrogant. read more

The negative reviews are CORRECT. Note the owner's vindictive responses and inability to accept responsibility and be accountable for the many mistakes he has made with customers. That should be your red flag. Our experience was terrible with this individual. Dishonest, sloppy, late and unconcerned with damage left behind. Mike is so helpful and so honest. My sprinkler system was working well before winter. Since there is a lot of rain this winter, I turned off the sprinkler system. Now I turned it on. But only the automatic sprinkler of backyard is working well. That of front yard doesn't work. I called Mike for help and he instructed me to text him the picture of the water valve. Then he called me back and told me to check if the wire is connecting well. The line that controls the front yard water valve seems loose. So I fixed it by stripping the wire and reconnect it tightly with other lines. It still doesn't work. Then I adjusted the lines at another side, then it works. So the root cause is indeed loose line connection. Thanks to Mike's suggestions and I saved a few hundred dollars. Thanks, Mike! read more

Hire Mike, he's your guy! I would highly recommend Mike and his team for any sprinkler issues you may have. As new homeowners we had a leak in our front yard and some issues with broken sprinklers. I called Mike and explained our issues. He was very honest with his pricing and explained what type of work we should expect based on the issues I shared over the phone. Mike offered all the supplies we would need and what the costs would be. I personally like to pick things out myself, so Mike made himself available via text to tell me what I needed. He even responded immediately, when I was at Home Depot purchasing supplies to confirm I had the right stuff. I felt that he went above and beyond to help us even before the work had started. On the day we were to meet Mike he came with his crew and did a great job explaining everything. We like to learn and Mike is a great teacher. He went over everything thoroughly and even gave us a clear description of all the tools we would need in the future if we wanted to fix things ourselves. I recently had the Roto TillerGuy install some sod in my front lawn. The experience with Mike was great overall. His website, which accurately itemizes and estimates the job, is very good. I was able to have his team working on my project in only one week from the time I spoke with Mike. Mike and his team showed up early in the morning and completed the entire job (removing old sod, rototilling, preparing the new soil/fertilizer, and laying the new sod) in only one day, The results were great, and his crew made sure to thoroughly clean my property of all dirt and debris after the job was done. His rate was also cheaper compared to other contractors -- in some cases much cheaper. I will add that Mike will order a little more sod than you estimate out of an abundance of caution. So, don't be alarmed. This is a good thing. The extra cost is minimal ($10 to $30), compared to the possibility that you may have underestimated the amount of sod you need. I had a little extra sod left over and Mike helped me to get rid of it at no cost. read more

I think Mike must have substantial good Karma points. When you call him he treats you like an old friend he is willing to help. I had been quoted over $1000 from another landscaping company to change my sprinkler heads to a drip system so I was calling for other quotes when Mike explained that it was a pretty simple, straight forward task. He said he would do it, but it is time intensive so the costs can get quite high. He offered to explain to me step by step how to do the task and I feel very confident that I can accomplish this now (he also said I could call him if I had any questions). He texted me photos and links of what materials to buy for changing the sprinkler system and the timer as well. I just got off the phone with him so I haven't tackled the project yet, but to save about $1000 sounds well worth a weekend doing this myself.
