Mike Garcia and the Enviroscape team were incredible! They relandscaped my front and back lawns, installing all new low water irrigation and low wattage lighting. They used what I already had whenever possible. New plants are all California natives. My neighbors have stopped by to tell me how beautiful it looks! Mike Garcia really loves trees and plants. He truly enjoys educating you on the importance of biodiversity and the reason for certain things to be planted over others. He is a big supporter of sustainable farming and will help guide you if interested in planting some fruits and veggies. We have a small space in North Redondo and really wanted to maximize the play area for kids, but still have a nice yard. Mike did a great job of reigning in some of my crazy ideas (a waterfall) and think logically about what would make the most sense. He very quickly came up with a plan to help beautify the yard and clean everything up. Mike's team was efficient and conscientious. I thought it would take two to three days to complete all the work, but they had put in a new drip watering system, wireless controller for the system (not needed - Mike even said it was overkill, but I like gadgets and having the system available from my phone is cool), and all new plants within a day. I mention that the team is conscientious because when they went to shut off the water, the valve broke. They could have simply left it, but they fixed what they could and made sure that I knew what needed to be fixed so a plumber could attend to it. Overall, I would certainly use Mike and his team again. read more

I have used Mike for front yard 'remodel' and now my latest project of installing a 'turtle habitat' for rescue turtles. Mike even PROVIDED the rescue turtle !!! Honestly, you could hire a separate designer and landscaping company to implement the design, but Mike does both. My first experience with Mike, owner of Enviroscape LA, was when my husband and I attended a free monthly sustainability event at his home. We were in awe of his beautiful space and the innovative sustainable solutions he'd incorporated into his living garden. Needless to say, we were impressed right off the bat with Mike's vast knowledge and concern for sustainable landscaping. We were planning to install privacy hedges in our front yard and met with a lot of different companies for the job. Ultimately we were most comfortable with Mike - he listened to what we wanted and guided us in picking the right pant and irrigation system. He went above and beyond, breaking down other proposals and explaining why we didn't need certain add-ons. Basically, all we needed was the right irrigation system, fertilizer and watering schedule for the plant we chose. Our hedges were installed last week and we couldn't be happier! Mike Garcia and the Enviroscape team are just incredible. They initially installed our water fixture in our backyard back in 2005. Very good attention to detail during the initial installation. What has been incredible though, has been their post installation support over the past 18 years. Whenever I call Mike, he is very responsive, always calls me back and both he and his team have replaced worn out motors, lights, rocks...and have helped me troubleshoot issues I have had over the years to keep our water fixture looking and working to our satisfaction. He always leaves our fixture clean and in excellent shape. Just this week I thought I had a bad motor that needed replacing, but turns out it was just clogged. He and his team unclogged the lines/motor and got the water fixture working again...and saved me the cost of a new motor! Super responsive, high integrity and just good people. Requested a quote, they were nice enough to give me a call to discuss so I provided my address and described what needed to be done. After I finished describing what I wanted to get done, the guy said it would be 2-3 weeks before they would be available, which I told him that was OK. Then he kept saying that he didn't want to give me a quote because they were too busy and it would be more than a month before they could get to my house. I said that was probably OK too and that I still wanted the quote but he kept saying that he didn't want to waste his or my time. Basically I got a call from Enviroscape, chatted with them for 15 minutes describing what I wanted to have done, and then was told that they were too busy to give me a quote. read more

Mike Garcia of Enviroscape was out of touch for some time. I wrote a review recently chastising him for neglecting his long time customers. Recently, I met with Mike who explained that his reason for being so out of touch was due to a personal tragedy that he was trying to deal with, thus, the default was his lack of response to our calls. We met recently, and he is ready to come back and be as good as he's been in the past. My regrets to all who may have taken my earlier critique to avoid Enviroscape.
