I have thick hair, and while it was short, it is now very long (down to my waist) and Morgan has not only made me feel gorgeous even on my worst days (and she's seen them!) but the care and attention she gives my hair means it's healthier than ever. We had a few changes to our "order" before coming in, but they were very accommodating. The studio itself is very clean! I was happy to see pre-packaged and pre-disinfected tools being used, and there was even regular sanitizing. We were all paired up with a stylist who were all very attentive to each of us and so accommodating. Two of my sisters got French manicures and I even noticed that their stylists checked in with them to see if they liked their styles before finishing up their whole hands. One of my sisters and my mother even accidentally smudged their toes when drying, but their stylists also fixed them at no additional charge. Overall, it was such a great experience! They always wash, cut and blow dry my hair, and I watch as they cut and style it to look nothing like what I asked for. I end up walking out, paying for a hairstyle that I really dislike and not saying anything to the stylist about the fact that I hate my hair. I am always very conscious of the fact that I might hurt his or her feelings. Then I would go home, and I fix it myself. Well, that changed the other day. I went to Nelly's. I didn't know that there was a new shop there, but I had passed it a couple of weeks ago and thought I'd give that hairstylist a try, not expecting much after all these years of looking. I brought with me a picture of the way I would like my hair to look when I walked out of the salon. Nelly looked at the picture, then at me, and said, "I'm not going to be able to do it exactly like that. Your hair is too thin. But we can get something similar to it, and I'll do my best.". That was a big plus for me because she was the first stylist who ever said to me, I can't do it. her honesty impressed me. She didn't get me hopes up! As she did my hair we talked, and I told her things about myself she told me things about herself, and I watched a little and she did my hair and she would turn me around and I wouldn't be able to see the mirror, but that was okay. When she was done, she turned me around to look in the mirror and I was stunned. My hair looked almost exactly like the picture that I had brought in! It was the first time, in all of these years, that I found a stylist who did what I wanted her to do. When I paid, she was more expensive than the others and that was okay. She spent a lot more time on my hair than the others did and she took great care in trying to give me what it was that I asked for. I left the shop feeling good about myself, and I didn't have to to to "fix" anything!! I went directly to meet my friend after leaving Nelly's. We had plans to go out to lunch. The first thing she commented on was my hair. She said, "I love your hair. It looks terrific. Where do you have it done?" I told her about Nelly's. She agreed that the cut was worth the extra cost. So, I'm telling all of you, if you haven't been happy with your hairstylist and you've been trying to find one that you like, I highly recommend Nelly I am definitely going back to her!
