The first time I had a Roul's burger was right off the campus of LSU while I was getting my…read moreundergraduate degree. I remember it being huge and delicious. To find out there was a location that opened nearer to home was so exciting. It had been wayyyy too long since I had one of the burgers and I absolutely love a good burger. If I was basing this review alone on the burger and the service, it would be a 5 star review. However, I also had the fries as it comes with the meal. I don't think you can just order a burger. However, you do have the option of onion rings or a side salad for an alternative side option, which is nice. I love a good order of fries, which was my side choice. I mentioned good fries, because these were forgettable. They weren't the worst that I've ever had, and if you like frozen seasoned fries you might like them more than me. I found them on the dry side. I may have liked them more if they were served with sauce other than ketchup. The burger did not disappoint. It's much bigger than what you get a most places. The patty was simply seasoned with what I think was salt and pepper, which really allowed the freshness to shine through and allowed the other burger ingredients to stand out. I would put this up against any of the other top burger places in BR, and the value exceeds any of them I am sure. I look forward to going back soon--perhaps I will like the loaded fries better.

Today, my wife and I opted to give this location a try. We arrived around 7:00 PM and decided to dine in. The dining room was very clean, and there were several other customers waiting on their orders. After placing our order at the counter, we grabbed a seat and waited about 10 minutes for our food to be ready. We each ordered the shrimp burger, which is a 1/2 lb. burger with shrimp, topped with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayo, ketchup, onions, pepper jack cheese, and served with fries or onion rings and a drink for $13.99 each with .75 up charge for the onion rings. I really wish there were a la carte pricing where I could just order a burger rather than being forced to purchase a combo meal. The burger was average, nothing to write home about and it did not taste like the burger I used to get from Roul's back in the days. The burger bun was soft and fresh, but very greasy. The burger patty did not taste fresh, it was dry, over cooked, and lacked flavor. There were only three or four shrimps on the burger, and the burger was topped with very little lettuce and other fresh condiments. I couldn't even taste the onions, tomatoes, and pickles. I personally like a lot of lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on my burger to enhance the overall burger taste and experience. Both the fries and onion rings were plentiful, hot and golden brown, but like the burger they lacked seasoning and flavor. Also, the onion rings were cooked from frozen and made fresh. I remember Roul's having the best seasoned fries and seasoned burger patties and that's what drove me to enjoy dining at Roul's Deli, but not today. There's room for improvement. The spicy vodka sandwich is very, very good, and it is a very large sandwich. You could split one and both people will walk away happy. But after looking around for a moment, she found a more descriptive menu. I suppose if you're a regular, that's not an issue. For a first timer, it's weird. I came here with high hopes for an Italian hoagie ("The Italian"). A good Italian hoagie is hard to find in the heart of po-boy country. The meat and cheese on this version is good, but the sandwich is kind of small and a bit dry. The menu says it includes roasted red peppers, but that was missing from my sandwich. It does appear they have a nice variety of bagels. Overall not bad, but I'm still in search of a good Italian hoagie.

A friend suggested that I go to Firehouse as the Grinder was a copy cat of their sandwich. Lucky for me, there was one near by. I went on. Friday afternoon and they were rocking and rolling. There was a line of 5 ppl before me and all the tables were pretty much filled. The lady at the register was so inviting. She never made anyone feel rushed even the lady that shared it was her first time there. Little did she know it was mine too but I had did a lil research before I went. I ordered the Hero sub with extra Mayo and I made it a meal by adding a cookie and a drink. When I got home and hit into that sandwich I was like wow. Mind you before this SM trend I was NOT a sandwich person at all. But FH subs has changed my mind. To add a lil cherry on top the confetti cookie was soooooi good. Per the lady at the counter they bake the cookies fresh daily. I went back on Sunday and got the same mea. They are a little pricy for the medium sandwich with cookie and a drink and an extra cookie it was $14.12 but it was worth it

He only got me on this place about a year ago......and I never looked back. This Philly cheesesteak is what everyone else wishes theirs tasted like. It is the ABSOLUTE BEST! I'm not exaggerating, I have not found anything better! AND THEN, every single thing I've tried on the menu is DIVINE! I ordered the wrong thing last time I went. My husband orders two sandwiches when he goes.....no lie. And I tried to order just one of them one time when he wasn't with me. So I ordered and took a bite and it wasn't the one I thought it was....not their fault, I just ordered the other one my husband usually does. And the thing is, that first bite was so juicy and flavorful, I didn't even mind. You literally cannot go wrong with this restaurant. Close your eyes, point, and spin. Whatever menu item you land on, and order will be PHENOMENAL trust me. I think I got my dad hooked, now on to the rest of the family!!! We love this place and it's just as good as the BR location and the workers and Parker's here are SOOOOOOOOOO incredibly sweet. This is our happy place.

They moved into a new location at Jones Creek. The new restaurant is beautiful on the bar side. The other side is a HUGE dining room for large groups and families with children. There is plants of parking but it's still a crowded parking lot.We have tried to go 4 times. We succeeded once on a Thursday at 5:30. The food was excellent. I had a personal vegetarian pizza and hubs had eggplant parm. Prices are very reasonable. I love their food and waitstaff is excellent- the 20 and 30 minute wait times not so much. Even the bar was SRO. It is a testament to their quality that it takes an act of DOG to get seated quickly. (I'm usually hangry when I get off work.I want to getting fed in 20 or 30 minutes, not just be seated and they don't take reservations. That being said, if you don't mind the wait, the food is always fresh, made to order. The quality is consistent and they are now even open limited hours on Sunday which is a nice brunch alternative. I am really happy for their success. It is well deserved. If you aren't in a hurry, you won't be disappointed!

Our server was absolutely horrible last night. We will not be coming back due to how badly the service was handled. Out server on our ticket was JaNet A. I am giving the 2 stars instead of the one solely because i do love my food. if you sit on the left hand side of the restaurant the noise carries and it can get really loud. The place was not packed to set the tone. When we ordered our drinks my dad asked if she had grapefruit juice-depending on the answer was going to depend on what he was going to order. She took a while to come back for an answer- When she delivers my daughters food- she then confirms there is not grapefruit juice. We order eggrolls - She does not deliver them to us. - another server did. There is a hole in the wall when you sit on the left hand side that connects to the bar to what I assume the servers can order drinks. We can see her talking and talking. Mind you it has been 40 minutes since our SALAD had been ordered. We asked another server to go get her. The other server tells our server "hey your table is asking for you" and she raises her finger to the sever telling her "one more minute." Mind you she is not serving the people she is socializing with. We order our salad which is supposed to come before our entree especially since he got a pasta entree. When she comes we state we have been waiting 40 minutes for a salad and her response was "Well I did put your food order in" She then goes to the back and pops out with both the salad and the pasta. My dad states the salad is supposed to come before my meal?? what is happening to which she states that she can just bring the pasta in the back until he's done with the salad or he can just not eat at all. LIKE WHAT??? A manager had to take it off the ticket which is more disappointing that he did not take it upon himself to say I'm sorry or anything. THEN my sandwich and salad comes which makes me wonder why is my sandwich taking longer than a pasta dish. Unfortunately I did not trust for her to take my food in the back to box it herself since there was so much tension so I asked for a box. We got there at 6:30 and stayed until 8:30 to only get one drink - one app and one sandwich with salad. & my daughter got buttered noodles
