I have been back several times and they have really done a great job on the service improvement. After the incident the owner offered me a free meal and I refused asking only that they address the carelessness issue and they did! So they get there stars back! This local bagel shop in the Wilmington area was an absolute treat for my girlfriend and I to grab breakfast. The vicinity itself is very clean and well kept with a decent amount of indoor seating for the space and a bathroom. The person working the register was very respectful and patient with us as he answered our questions regarding the menu. Our food came out quickly, I ordered the French toast bagel with eggs and bacon which was delicious. You have the option to customize your sandwich however you please and the pricing was fair for the amount of food you receive. Why do I keep coming back here? Over the last two months I might have gone to Round 4 times or so. Every single time it is so slow and employees are visibly confused. This isn't exactly peak season either. I know it's busy year round in Wilmy now, but this spot needs to tighten up badly. I WANT to love this place but it desperately needs leadership presence and a stronger focus on the product. If you arrive past 10 AM they will sell out of donuts (whatever kind you want, they won't have it) and won't make any more. This is bagels AND donuts... It's in the name, logo, merch, whatever... Anyway, this morning I showed up at 6:30 AM and purchased donuts, only to be told they weren't even made yet. Employee: "make sure to let customers know we don't make donuts until we open." What? Why? What sense does that make to not have the full menu of baked goods at opening? It's a bakery at heart, no? Help me understand why it's so difficult to get a chocolate donut here. I waited around for an extra 5-10 minutes for hot and delicious donuts so one star for that and one star for the filthy, dirty countertop... put a rag in someone's hand! Having lived in Manhattan where you can get a bagel or sandwich with 50 people in line in 5 minutes or less, we realize that we were spoiled. We accept this fact, but my God, this place is just a chaotic mess and there is nothing special about the bagels. People trying to place and pick up orders were all mashed into the same area, and it took 20 minutes for a simple toasted bagel with cream cheese. (that's from the time we ordered) This was on a Sunday morning, but the concept of "a quick bite" is simply not happening here. I will say the Guatemalan coffee was pretty good, but not good enough for us to ever go back. I guess if you are in college and don't have anything pressing to do, you probably don't care about waiting half an hour for a sandwich that should take less than a minute to make, but if you are looking for a reasonable turn around time or exceptional food, I suggest looking elsewhere. read more

To start off, im new to Wilmington. Second, I hate to be this guy who is a self anointed bagel snob, but I am. Growing up in a Jewish household from New York, we take our bagels seriously. Delicious! Loved it. A bit slow but I don't think they have much control over that when it's busy. I also ordered a jalapeño bagel to snack on later and that was perfectly done. Straying from my usual bagel place in town, my wife and I made the choice to try out Round on Kerr Ave., Saturday morning. So many people have told me how Round is the best there is and that it was a must try so here we went for a first time visit. FOOD: Custom bagel sandwich ordered: sausage, bacon, American Cheese and pepper jack cheese on a toasted Asiago cheese bagel. I know...cheese galore, right? Let's start with the main ingredient...the bagel. This was a true NY-style bagel, toasted just right, possessing great flavor with the Asiago cheese and it was flawless. When you bite into the bagel, it has a nice little crisp to the exterior but the rest of it was light and fluffy!! Loved this!! Nothing worse than a heavy, compressed bagel that sits heavy on the stomach. Very nice. The sausage was thick, juicy and held plenty of spice. The bacon was prepared well and also had good flavor. However, the pepper jack cheese was missing and only included American cheese. Even without the missing ingredient ordered, this sammy is a breakfast-meat lovers dream. SCORE: 4.2 STARS!! SERVICE: For an extremely busy time of the day, with the place packed full of customers, the staff did just fine...other than forgetting the pepper jack cheese. The wait time was not terrible and everyone seemed to be doing their part to get out quality orders in a timely fashion. Nothing to rave about but all in all, it was just fine. SCORE: 4 STARS!! OVERALL SCORE: I loved the bagel's flavor, consistency and size. The meats were so abundant, that some cream cheese, egg or a combination of the two could add some depth to this custom bagel sandwich so that's on me. Trial and error. Dang, this place needs to figure out what it is and get its processes in order. A simple bagel sandwich took 25 minutes this morning (literally - 8:46-9:11). That doesn't fly in the in-and-out bagel/breakfast market...at least not for me. Who got that kinda time for one stupid bagel sandwich? Not me. Everything Bagel was very good with everything on both sides not the most flavorful seasoning but still good. Staff all looks professional and the woman who took my order was very welcoming. So I'm originally from New England where bagels rule. One morning during the whole WFH thing I ordered breakfast because I didn't want to cook through DoorDash. While Round is literally around the corner from me there's something about not having to put on real clothes (see pajamas are more comfortable) that is enticing. We ordered a couple of bagel sandwiches and muffins to satisfy the salty/sweet cravings of folks and were so pleased with what we wound up with that we've been back three times in the last few weeks. Well, to be fair DoorDash has. The range of options for bagel sandwiches is incredible. Don't like/can't eat eggs, no biggie they'll handle it. Want all the meats and such....yea they've got you. Trying to be "good" don't worry. The bagels are huge and totally satisfying. The donuts (we've ordered a couple) are yeast donuts which are fine. The only thing I'd wish is they'd be able to list the donut flavors on either the website or DD because all we entered was "anything chocolate" and got a chocolate frosted donut. Not complaining just would like to know other options. Definitely a place to check out if you're used to NY style bagels and as a side tip....definitely order your bagel toasted, it's perfection with that crunchy exterior and soft chewy interior. read more
