I've been to see Mark Forbes / The Best Barber ATX a few times now, and the experience really just gets better each time. My hair grows incredibly fast, and I have found that I'm pickier than I originally thought I was about my hair and who cuts it. Mark absolutely NAILS it every single time. Beyond the haircut itself, he's a super cool dude. He's a blast to chat with, and has a great sense of humor. It's just an absolutely positive experience all around. I finally found a local barbershop like the ones I grew up going to with my dad. It's easy to book appointments through their website, so I no longer have an excuse for my hair to look dumpy. Just a couple clicks, select a time that works for you, pick a barber and you'll get a text reminder 2 hours before your appointment. Joe was extremely rude and passive aggressive just as another recent review on Google Reviews stated, very coincidental. Right when I saw him was extremely passive aggressive; started being rude and pressing me for asking if I could get a beard trim when I didn't realize you have to book it before hand, just whiny behavior and acts like a little kid not getting his way. Showed him a picture of a taper which I attached below and completely butchered it, he cut my hair like he had something against me which also goes with the passive aggressiveness, literally the worst trait someone can have. Didn't check in with me the whole cut on any details and just cut my hair like he was shaving a sheep. Went back in and got my money back and he still kept acting passive aggressive with some shallow "have a good day", not even apologizing. Bro if you don't feel like giving a cut or you're having a bad day then stay at home or go take a lunch break. Hair is completely messed up now, not even blended or even. If you're gonna keep taking stuff out on your clients go get therapy and stop being passive aggressive. Were just tryna get a decent haircut and we put trust in you all to give us something decent. I know how to give a taper cut like the one in the picture and I don't even have a license and it's not my job. Gave me an uneven, unblended high fade and looked even worse after showering. Like the majority I needed a haircut bad. I didn't want to go back to the commercial places, so, I looked for a small business locally owned. Round Rock Barber Shop popped up on my Yelp search and I checked out the reviews. Satisfied with the positive reviews I checked out their website. YES!!! These guys were EXACTLY what I was looking for. They specialize in classic cuts, which is perfect for my taste. I booked an appointment with Dennis. I showed up for my appointment and was immediately greeted and seated. They are in a old house built in 1903. Beautiful! According to Dennis the floors are original. After we went over what I wanted done he immediately got to work. The other owner, Will, was leaving to grab some lunch, and, asked me if I wanted anything! That was really cool. The conversation and whole vibe of the place was spot on. Because of the pandemic they aren't providing some services like beard trim and free drinks (they have whiskey!). The cut took less than 30 minutes and is probably one of the best cuts I have ever had! I am very pleased with the service I got from Dennis, and, I will definitely book with him again. I knew that I might be taking a risk, but I decided schedule an appointment with this place. The first available barber was named Eric. Finding the right barber is essential for me as a man. For years I went to all the places- Bird's, Sports clips, Fraga (horrible), Floyd's, and great clips in hopes to find "the one" who could cut my hair. It wasn't until I was referred to Round Rock Barbershop that I experienced what a good hair cut was. Not only that, but Will and Dennis give you an EXPERIENCE! Their shop is a great vibe, and they are hella cool dudes. They actually care about making you look good, unlike other places that pump you in and out down the line like a burrito at chipotle. I got my beard trimmed today by Will. Great atmosphere and very friendly. I was not impressed with my beard trim. All I asked for was to get it cleaned up a bit but asked to retain the length. He used clippers for everything which is a negative in my book. It looked fine on a cursory inspection. Once I got home I found my beard patchy and uneven. Maybe my expectations are too high but I expect a men's barber to use scissors and a razor to clean up the neck, cheek lines and the sideburns. Nice guy but I will keep looking for a barber that can use a straight razor. read more

Great atmosphere and exactly what I was looking for! I have never grown a beard before and you can only learn so much online about beard and maintenance. Even still it's hard to work on your own beard as you can't see everything. But I needed to know what beard would look good for my face shape, but even suggestions on if I should continue to grow a beard if I can't maintain growth on my sides. Having a true licensed barber to give me suggestions and explain things helped a lot. I was tired of going into places where they are a "barber shop" but aren't certified to know what suggestions to give me. Dennis and Will both answered all of my questions and I left really happy with the results of their suggestions and my beard trim. Been a regular here since I moved to Round Rock in 2019. Once I got passed the initial nerves of letting someone new work on my beard and hair, they have been a home run. They are appointment only and it is very easy to book on their website or even right off google maps. Always friendly and interesting conversations going on when I'm in the chair. I recall one about a chugging flaming hot Mountain Dew which turned out particularly hysterical. They also support our veterans with a military discount. read more

Came in today after driving by several times. They opened recently after transferring locations from La Frontera. It was my first experience with the barbers though. I received a great haircut and an awesome experience with Dennis. Prices are competitive with the rest of the area. Would easily recommend without second thought. Awesome guys. Came in and he knew who I was before I even told him. No wait at all. I explained that I'd been to all the large chain style salons and what I wanted and Dennis took it from there. Held a great conversation about how he got started and life. He did an excellent job, far exceeded my expectations from what I've seen before. Finished the cut with a hot towel and neck shave. Obviously a little more expensive than great clips, etc (paid 25 vs 15 at others) but for the quality and the friendliness of the guys, it's more than worth the extra 10 dollars. I was very happy the first year of service.  However, the last 6 months my cuts became completely different and way-off the norm. The fellas are friendly and personable. However, the individual that cut my hair should listen to the client with their suggestions of how they like their hair cut consistently. It's more important to keep a client that has referred several new clients to your business  vs. getting offended or stressed by the cut suggestions. Canceling the clients appointment the same week their next cut is due after 4 weeks on the books vs. trying to learn and grow as a professional barber is very unprofessional and arrogant. read more
