I'm updating my review. Since first posting it. The quality of the food, service and atmosphere has slipped a few notches. The pizza crust the last couple of visits has been a bit thinner and missing that round table awesomeness. The toppings have been a bit sparser. The beverage station and utensil area is a bit dingy and under stocked and the soft drinks are just a bit off. The music has changed from in the in notable background music to loud uninspired smooth jazz. Which stands at odds with the sports on the television. It's still the superior Round Table in the area, I travel farther to get here, but at over $30 for an xl pepperoni pizza you need to be bringing all the round table magic. read more

Well, yes I enjoyed the deal of the century and that's the lunch time "ALL YOU CAN EAT@ special. 3 to 4 hot pizzas all lined up and ready to eat. I was able to choose from several selections and wash it all down with unlimited soda , I LOVED IT. The gentleman offered me the salad bar experience also but I rejected that idea cause I didn't want that distracting me from the pizza pie. I appreciated his offer of veggies to go along with my grease consumption. The ambiance is basic decor with booths and a large back room for party's plus an arcade room. Wow ten years since I updated. Well okay! When Mrs Billy D goes out of town I get a King Arthur Supreme to work on for a few days. I know this is a chain but I still think it's the best pizza going. This time in I noticed the store did an interior remodel and it looks great. It looks modern. They got rid of that green/ red color scheme. I'm a carry out guy and only go to the counter though. Last couple times Salad bar was poor quality I use to work at Qfc and every day salad bar had to flipped and new items replaced daily they don't do that here salad bar looks like at least 3 days old pretty disgusting I have a mind to call heath department even today green lettuce was frozen they don't have employees that care it shows yuk! Had lunch here with a couple people and shared an XL. Friendly staff, clean dining area. Would have ordered a personal pan pizza instead of sharing with others if I had known about the all you can eat salad bar. Pizza can be pricey but was very very tasty. This pizza chain is a mere semblance of its former self. It's run down & salad bar was disgusting. I remarked to the manager that the shrooms looked pretty shakey...& she took offense. I have good memories, years ago when I always got the artichoke pizza, artichokes tasted fresh & fantastic. Not anymore. They upcharged me for artichoke hearts & then gave me a few dried up, unchewable ribbons on top. I could have scooped the artichokes from the salad bar... & put on top ... & at NO upcharge. Even those were tasteless.. To make matters worse the overpriced $20 personal pan pizza had no flavor & tasted like paper. My advice would be to avoid this place....like the plague. read more

Two stars. One star for the pizza and breadstick consistently tasting the same. Another star for the 1/6 + employees working yesterday. She was kind and actually working while no one else was. She was cleaning tables, bringing pizza out to cars and helping cover the counter. She has short hair I wish I got her name. I walked in to order a pizza and about 15 minutes later walked right back out. The lady at the counter was helping someone when I walked in but that was very brief. It was all the employees talking profanities upset that they weren't supposed to take their brake yet. Manager was upset and arguing with them in front of me. There were probably four employees not helping, eating and being inappropriate. I get it you might be on break but break away from customers who are waiting a long time for help and we just see a bunch of people loitering and sitting around. I tried Round Table in Mount Vernon. Have been going to Round Table for years in California. I find that some of the Restaurants are better than others. A few years back, I visited in Northern California the Brentwood location, and if was one of the best that I have ever had. No sure if it is the ovens that the pizza is cooked in, the pizza maker knowing how to cook, but the corporation should explore, why certain locations are great and some just so so. In 2005 I lived in sammamish washington and visited the shop in issaquah and again there pizzas did not live up to the locations in California, again even in California, some of the locations are better than others. The owner, should visit the stores that are doing great and see what makes them, better than average. read more

always been a fan of round table pizza! first time trying this location and was very satisfied! called the order in and picked it up 20 mins later! staff very helpful and informative! took the time to explain things... pizza was awesome! went with the meat one....generous toppings and large in size..lol! went with original crust! good choice as it was thin and firm and was able to hold all the toppings. pizza wasnt sliced uniformly...but its all good. taste doesnt change anyways... one thing i noticed though is that the crust wasnt cooked uniformly. some parts were cooked well, a little part wasnt... but other than that...everything was good. i also ordered the a dozen classic wings..1/2 bbq 1/2 lemon pepper flavour. wings tasted great. not gelatinous and yucky..but like real wings baked at home. bbq one had a smoky flavour..,lemon pepper one was a bit mild and lacking in lemon flavour. but wasnt bland or boring at all. thanks to yelp!!! as when i checked in....got $10 off order of $25! awesome deal!!! cheers! happy eating! read more

Round Table Pizza had been in Mount Vernon for decades, and at one time it was the best pizza in town. Like most chain restaurants, the quality of the food has degraded, and the price has gone up. Round Table pizza has just been average for the last 15 years, still good, but not as good. My son wanted to try it again today and I have to say we were both impressed. We got a large pizza with Pepperoni and Mushrooms, the crust was excellent, very fluffy with the holes in the crust, just like it used to be 20 years ago, the sauce was great, they were a little on the greedy side with the toppings and cheese, there could have been more of each for sure, but this pizza was a big improvement, I'm hoping they continue in this direction. My original review is now 12 years old and I felt an update was warranted after my visit to this business today. This restaurant survived the Covid epidemic but it looks like it's taken it's toll. There has been no investment in the place, either monetarily or in staff training. The place is run down and many things (lights etc) remain in a state of disrepair. Carpets are worn out and dirty, booths and upholstery are dated and worn, I'm pretty sure all are original to the restaurant. The staff doesn't seem very interested, they were civil so I don't really have a complaint about that but they were far from enthusiastic. It did not appear that the salad bar was being used anymore. There's a hand written sign mentioning they prefer cash transactions, not a good omen of things to come. The one bit of shiny that still remains is the pizza itself. I still really like it so at least the recipes and cook staff are okay. So here is my up to date recommendation; order to go or online for pickup, that way you still get good pizza without the sad experience. I really hope they are able to reinvest and bring this restaurant into the 2020's read more

This place is a joke... First of all the place looks like its barely hanging on by a thread. The booths are all ripped up, the bathrooms are yellowing and there are stains on stains on stains and mold? Yes BLACK Mold. The front counter gal was drunk, and it is not the first time, as we learnt from the next door restaurant customers where we went to get dessert since the service was so bad. When the guy served our pizza his thumb dipped into the cheese, very gross. He didn't even know the pizza he serving us and called out the wrong name. They have no drinks/beer list, their register doesn't work most of the time, so if they dont have an item or drink they'll charge you for something else... all little things that are just indications that they should not be open. And you know what all these things would be ok if the food was delicious but it as not. We had 2 pizzas, wings and twists. The cost was over $100!! When did this become so expensive? The wings were cold and rubbery at best and possibly undercooked at worst. My pizza barely had any cheese and a huge pocket of air in the middle! Have you ever seen a pizza without cheese, aside from a vegan one?? Anyways, I was so excited to get Roundtable again after not having been to this location in several years but I wont be going back anytime soon. NEVER again! Ordered online.... for $50 I got bone out wings when I ordered bone in and they were burned. I showed up 5 min after they told me they would be ready (still had to wait) and they failed to mention they didn't carry one of the sauces I ordered so they just replaced it with whatever they felt like even though I was there in the building and they could have asked me what I would like instead. I ordered a pizza for delivery at 5:30. At 7:10, over an hour and a half later, I'm still waiting for it. I called about 10 minutes ago and was told the order was just about ready to go in the oven so about 30 more minutes to delivery. The delivery driver finally showed up, ignored our instructions to knock on the basement door and then dropped our pizzas. I've been to this location a few times, and it always matches my expectation of outstanding food and service. My most recent visit was last Saturday evening, and I went with a group of about 16 friends after our softball tournament in town. I know sometimes when you go to a restaurant as a group it's not always a pleasant experience, but the Round Table staff was very accommodating, and all of our orders were placed and filled in a timely manner. What was especially nice, was there was a private room for our group to eat, where we were able to watch the primetime college football game. The pizza, wings, and beer were, as usual, outstanding and top notch. I'll definitely keep coming back to this location whenever I'm in Mount Vernon. read more

My review is not for Round Table, which I love, but for my experience at this location. I often go to the Bellingham location, and I've been treated perfectly there. They are always friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I happened to be in Burlington and was hungry. The only thing that sounded good was salad. Round Table has pretty darn good salad, and it's a great value for me to get their personal pan pizza + salad bar to-go. I've also taken their new special - personal pan pizza + salad bar + breadsticks + dessert to-go. On this occasion, since I'd never been to the Mount Vernon location, I called ahead to make sure they had a salad bar before I drove there. They did. I asked the stoner who answered the phone if they had any carry-out specials that included the salad bar. He said no. I asked if they were an independent store, and he said they were connected to Bellingham. I told him about the meal I ordered at the Bellingham location all the time. He said it was a dine-in special only. No matter how many times I insisted that I've never once eaten this special in-store in Bellingham, and that I've always taken it to-go, he said I could not. It was my mistake that I went anyway. As I said, I was hungry, and I wanted salad. Absolutely nothing else around sounded good. The same stoner who took my phone call took my order. After placing my order, and being handed a tiny plate for my salad bar experience, I asked him why I could not take it to go, since they had to-go salad containers. He said Round Table makes more money if people eat their salad in the restaurant, than if they take it to-go. Nice. I did my best to create my masterpiece salad on the tiny plate, but all the dressing ended up in a small pool on the tip top, because otherwise it would've run off the sides of the plate. I can't believe how small the plates are for what is supposed to be a salad BAR. But I digress. I took my salad, which really was delicious, to my table to eat. They also brought me 2 breadsticks while I ate my salad, though it took them a REALLY long time to bring them to me. EASILY 20 minutes passed before I got my breadsticks. In their defense, I forgot to put my number on my table, but the restaurant was almost totally empty when I got there, and I sat right up front where they could see me. When I was nearing the end of my salad, it occurred to me that since the pizza was not all-you-can-eat (and evidently not their big money maker), and since I was not taking extra of the breadsticks or dessert, and not even taking a second trip to their salad bar, I should be able to take the rest to-go. When a different server brought me my pizza, I politely asked if he wouldn't mind bringing me a small box to take the pizza home in. He looked at me as though I'd asked him if he could add brains and eyeballs to my pizza. He did end up bringing me a box, but it was clear from his reaction that it was an unwelcome request. I put the pizza in it and one breadstick and waited for my dessert. And waited. And waited. I probably waited at least 20 minutes after the arrival of my mini pizza before I finally went to ask where my dessert was. The girl now working behind the counter smiled and said she would bring it right to me. More than 5 minutes passed before she came and told me it would be about 5 minutes before it was ready. Luckily, she asked if I wanted to take it to-go, and I said I did. 10 more minutes later, someone finally brought me my dessert, which they actually doubled, and I left. + The food is good. All of it. + It was nice that she doubled my dessert. But those were the only plusses in this negative experience. I will stick to my trusted Bellingham location, and will be unlikely to return to the one in Mount Vernon. ____________________ Update - 8/20/2010 The next time I went to the Bellingham location (where I've never had a single problem or bad experience), I asked when I was ordering the special if I could take it to-go. The girl taking my order said "sure!" I paid, she gave me my salad to-go box, and I went to make my salad. I had just finished making it and sat down to wait for the rest of my order when the girl came out and said her manager had just told her I could not take it to-go.
