Papa Murphy's is a staple when visiting/staying with my Grandma in Oak Harbor. This location is also a frequent choice by my dad when he comes up to visit her. It is a short five to ten minute drive from her house and has parking right in front of the entrance. Ordering is straightforward and we get to see the workers craft the pizza and wrap it so we can take it home and cook it. The toppings have been consistent in quality and I have enjoyed all of the types we have tried thus far. We recieved absolute terrible customer service over an online order. We were told that just because the websites is not user friendly and a mistake was made on the customer's part that Papa Murphy's should not have to pay for the mistake. Just disappointed that there reasoning was "we have no control over the website" therfore if a customer makes a mistake on the cumbersome website they are responsible. We left with no pizza and no refund. I will never frequent this location again. Apparently it is a given that cheese comes on pizza. Came in to grab a quick dinner. This store is super clean and the staff are crazy super motivated. Everyone was really nice and asked me how I was doing. They figured out a way for me to save money on my order, and were really helpful with figuring out my wife's order. Then...the craziest thing happened. I hate this place, I've been known to drive to Anacortes or Mt. Vernon to get a Papa Murphy's. They (OH) often don't honor the advertised specials you see on TV, and compared to the other mentioned outlets they scrimp on the toppings. On Tuesday's for example which is the advertised special price day, currently $13.99 for a large Tuesday special, we generally order a family size vice a large and they charge us $3 extra which is understandable. Last Tuesday I priced a large Cowboy cheese stuffed crust on the app at $16.99, no extras. When I went to order at the store it was $21, the regular everyday price. When I challenged the charge the cashier put on her stupid act like she didn't comprehend what I was talking about, then offered several excuses then finally admitted they don't honor the Tuesday special price except on the basic pizzas. This is not the first time we have experienced this sort of thing at this sort of thing has occurred at this location. The week prior my daughter ordered a half and half large which should have been the 13.99 Tuesday price but was charged over $20 plus tax. I realize a business can charge whatever they want for their product/service but it seems that a fast food establishment should adhere to the advertised specials. read more

I asked for people's feedback on a Whidbey Island Facebook page and the response of 46 out 49 people was overwhelmingly positive including a former & current employee & some longtime residents. I decided to give it a try and I have to give a BIG THUMBS UP!!! I asked @ the Tuesday special on the phone & was told that it was honored. We went to the drive-through & picked it up without any problems. The service was very good both on the phone and in person and the pizza was DELICIOUS!!! I have been a satisfied regular customer for years, I enjoy the product, but am getting quite dissatisfied with the franchise/management. The store does not honor the corporate advertising. I have regularly seen tv, or web ads, and ordered what I saw, but this franchise simply refuses to honor the Papa Murphy's advertising. Today's advertised special was a 5 topping pizza large for $12 or family for $14. I tried to order the family special & they refused to honor the ad. I think it's bait and switch. For months, I have regularly tried to utilize the corporate web site's online ordering function to no avail. The store simply refuses to utilize the corporate web site's online ordering. In the past, I have been at least a weekly patron. I am voting with my purchase dollars by curtailing my patronage. I just ordered online from one of the other local Papa Murphy stores. It worked fine and I was able to order the advertised special without a problem. I would prefer to support the local store, but I feel like they are not supporting me. So, I will be buying more pizza from the Anacortes, Burlington. and Mt Vernon Papa Murphy stores. read more

My family doesn't eat a whole lot of pizza but I'm very impressed with how quick and efficient this place it. The people are all very polite and I'm in and out of there very quickly. My family loves Papa Murphys! Their prices are reasonable. Their pizzas have great flavor. I love the take and bake concept, especially when my daughter is having a sleepover and not everyone arrives at the same time, so I can hold off and bake them myself when everyone arrives, instead of feeding them room temperature pizza. Avoid this location if at all possible. I recently had a poor experience at this store and encountered rude employees, so I wrote the owner an email voicing my concern. This is the response I received from Joshua Rowley, the owner of this location in Oak Harbor. "Just wanted to respond to your comments about my staff and your experience. I'm sorry if you felt they were rude, it doesn't sound like my crew or my Ast. manager at all. Often, people can associate NOT GETTING THEIR WAY as being rude. I'm going out on a limb here and guessing that this is the case. We have a policy in my store that I HAVE PERSONALLY PUT IN PLACE, not my Management, to offer 1/2 and 1/2 pizzas only. If other Papa Murphy's or your local one does this for you, that is FANTASTIC, and is their choice as an owner or manager, which ever the case may be. I won't try to bore you with why I have my policies as such after 20 years with Papa Murphy's, but I can assure you this is in place for a very good reason, which I'm not expecting you to agree with, BUT I CAN RESPECT without considering you rude. Again, we are glad to accommodate our customers with 1/2 & 1/2 pizzas, but unfortunately will not do 1/8 or 1/16 or 2/3. But, as you mentioned in your scathing comments about my rude crew that you would "never set foot in my store again,"......you have the last word. J. The young man on the phone was obviously new, we had a hard time hearing him and the masks doesn't help. FYI....remove your masks while taking an order so you are able to understand what is being said. Upon picking up the pizzas the young lady repeated the order, also masked, appropriately,due to Covid. I heard her differently than what was said. She offered to make it correctly then, Josh, the OWNER, came across strongly stating he was next to the kid taking the order and he repeated the order to me 2xs. Yes he did and I heard what I ordered both times!!! Although, what this young lady was saying sounded differently, you see.....WHITE sauce on one pizza and LIGHT sauce on the other, sound the same. Especially, with a mask on. And why the heck do you offer a white and a light sauce yet no online ordering?!! Only relying on a new employee and a easily tempered owner. This is by far the most unfriendly and unaccommodating papa murphys I have ever been to. I understand that a substitution or custom order is a pain during a rush, but when you are the only customer in the store with 3 employees standing idle, and the customer is willing to pay extra for what they want, the business should be a little flexible. I have never had an issue with getting a large pizza skin stretched to a family size (referred to as the magnifico crust) at the location in Mukilteo. And if you want and are willing to pay for more than 4 toppings in a stuffed pizza, forget about it here. It seems the only words the guy at the counter could say were, "No, we can't do that." I won't be coming back and unless you want a cookie cutter, rubber stamped pizza, I would suggest you avoid this location. read more

Josh runs a fantastic Papa Murphy's here in beautiful Oak Harbor and is one of the most generous businessman I am aware of. He is forever donating things to the community, and tonight (although he didn't have to), he gave the OHHS FB kicker a 2nd chance to kick a 35-yd field goal to claim the $1,000 prize with the person with the winning ticket. Like I said, the kicker went into this knowing he only got one try - but Josh gave him a second chnace and the kicker made it, and Josh paid out the $1,000. What a gentleman. This is consistent with his past generosity in supporting our local schools, etc. Plus they make a great pizza.
