Took the family out for dinner and the experience was exceedingly satisfactory. Food was excellent as always. Staff member Xavier was on point with customer service took care of all customers including my family with following up if we needed anything various times. I feel so bad for the workers at this location cause every time I go there is only ONE or TWO people on the clock and they look liken they are overwhelmed with trying to satisfy all the customers coming in. In the world of pizza I have always found round table to be one of the pricier options for pizza, but with that said the product simply looks and tastes so much better. It has been years since I last visited this location, well before COVID and I was sorely disappointed with the food, site appearance and service. We were pressed for time and pizza is always a quick win that avoids cooking on a busy day. For that reason we decided to stop there today. It was very clear that things had changed since our last visit. The in store appearance was clean and well kept. The staff greeted us with smiles and was helpful in making our choices. In the end we chose a cheese stuffed crust pineapple BBQ pizza with a split order of a dozen chicken wings 1/2 garlic parmesan and 1/2 mango habanero. Let me state that the appearance of both was perfect. Had I saw it on a billboard ad it would have looked photoshopped. But more importantly everything just tasted great. The wings were just as wings should be, not slimy, seasoned well and notable for the flavors we choose. Our 1.5yo toddler was roaming around and making messes as they do so well. While we did our best to manage her havoc it was nice to not feel like we were being judged for the behavior of a child. When we inquired about crayons and paper to direct our daughter's fury, she let us know she would look and see what she had and moments later brought back crayons and paper to occupy our daughter. Throughout our visit we had several conversations with a woman working the counter. I noticed some traits that are so rare in employees but which I would expect in an owner. As she was clearing the table beside us I asked if she was the Manager or owner. I was not surprised at all to learn she was the owner and pleased to see that a service industry business was being managed by someone who truly understands and provides exceptional service. Her friendly demeanor, attentiveness to customers and humility to not be above clearing tables was absolutely refreshing. And to add to that, this location is back on my radar as something that warrants paying a little more to get something you know you will enjoy. I placed an order via phone call at 5:33 PM. I arrived at the location at 6:30 PM. I waited in the lobby until 6:49 PM. Horrible service. I understand there was only one girl at the front but that shouldn't justify the lack of service and unprofessionalism. They don't give you an update on your order. You have to keep on asking. There is no structure whatsoever. Turns out my order was ready the whole time. When they gave it to me the food was cold. I asked to be remade or heated up. We stopped in Soledad because the kiddo was hungry. We found Round Table not too far from the freeway exit. It is in a shopping center with other shops and restaurants. Round Table is located across from a Burger King, separated by a small parking lot. We had no trouble finding a parking spot at 12:30pm on a Sunday. When we walked into Round Table, we were surprised to find it quite empty. There were diners at only 2 tables. Guess they don't have a weekend lunch rush. No menu board mounted high behind the counter. You have to grab a sheet of paper to see what they offer. Besides pizza, the restaurant also offers salad (or salad bar), sandwiches, chicken wings, garlic bread, parmesan twists, beer and soda. The menu only lists sizes as "number of slices". This means nothing to me -- are we talking about a 10" 6-slice pizza or a 20" 6-slice pizza or a 30" 6-slice pizza? Sure, they can all have "6 slices", but they are very different slices relative to the total diameter of the pie. It would be more helpful if they listed the sizes by "number of inches" (diameter) for each pizza size and/or display pan size examples near the ordering counter so people know what size they're actually getting. The kiddo chose the Italian Garlic Supreme, which has pepperoni, Italian sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, green onions and lots of garlic on creamy garlic sauce. We noticed a gluten free crust option and decided to give it a try. The kiddo loved her choice of pizza, which is not surprising since she tends to like "white" sauces on her pizza. The gluten free crust was pretty good. Although it seemed like they could have baked the pizza for a little less time. Our pizza had slightly burnt edges and bottom. The restaurant is spacious inside with plenty of seating. There is no outdoor seating. Music could be heard from the speakers in the restaurant, playing 90s music. You will definitely notice the many TV screens mounted on the wall. We could see 4 TV screens from where we sat. They were turned in to sports of some flavor ; we saw poker (if you would call that a "sport"), basketball, and mixed martial arts. Restroom is at the back corner of the restaurant. From the entrance, turn left (left of the ordering counter), head to the back and then turn right. There is no "restroom" sign to indicate there is a restroom back there. You just have to walk back there and poke your head around the corner to see the 2 restroom doors (one door for men, the other door for women). The women's restroom did not have a diaper changing area (not even in the larger stall). This last time we came in for dinner with the coupons that we just sent out and were told they couldn't honor them.. why send out coupons and not honor them.. totally a bait and switch. Came 10 minutes early to pick up my pizza let them know I was there, they told me it would be a 10 minute wait which I had no problem and sat in the booth right in front of the register. After waiting 20 minutes I went to check to see if it was ready and was given my pizza about to walk out when they yelled my name because they forget to tell me to sign the receipt. No problem people forget sometimes, went back and signed. Walked out with the pizza and was in the car when an older lady with black hair comes out yelling to wait, asks for the card I paid with and my id. I don't understand why they couldn't ask me while I was inside waiting but they had to double check the card I paid with and my id. When asked about it the lady gave a rude response saying its new policy and there was a lot of fraud going on. I've learned from people in town Round Table had been opened. I was excited to walk in and order myself pizza and my family. The management is awesome and the customer service exceeded my expectations. I am happy this new ownership is putting the customers first . The pizza quality is not any least . I would not order from this place I ordered a pizza and it's about 1.5 hours and I still have not received it. I called and excuse was it left "5 minutes ago" (sounded like scripted statement if you know what I mean). Finally comes and looks small for a X-large pizza (the one I get from Salinas is bigger )- and when I did get it it was like cold (so much for it left 5 minutes ago).
