This was a stop on my recent A Game of Crawls, a Game of Thrones themed bar crawl. It was my least favorite stop of the night. I assume the bar is named for gangster and Chicago business man Al Capone who was a legend in South Florida. He owned an island in Deerfield Beach, was rumored to have a hideout in Ft. Lauderdale, and he died in Miami. Most of the bars made an effort to put up something to go with the theme of the crawl but Capone's didn't bother. Hardly anyone was in the place compared to the other bars we went to and still took forever to get service. The floors were disgusting and the girls were dressed in skimpy outfits with fishnets. I don't care for the strip club look. The last straw was trying to use the bathroom only to find it full of half dressed girls with their curling irons plugged in and makeup everywhere. I couldn't even make it to the sink to wash my hands. They acted like I had invaded their personal restroom. The atmosphere here wasn't for me. read more

BEWARE ‼‼ My friends went to Capone Nightclub to have a good time and to party and they ended up being drugged and harassed while the security guard sat and watched. My friends were being harassed by a group of men that were trying to take advantage of them and when my friend tried to defend herself and my other friend, the security guard kicked her out as opposed to the men that were trying to take advantage of two drugged women. Fun Dancing Environment In Two Rooms SITREP This was Stop #1 in our Bar & Dance Crawl on this wonderful Spring Break night! I have to hand it to my friends Ashley, Greshka & Savanna for having some excellent taste in Night Time Clubbing Fun! THE SETUP Capones has a split personality: (1) Room Number #1 is where we started with the Big Bar & the Big Dance Floor. Though pretty calm at 9pm, by 10:00pm it was already hoppin. The music was mainly house, Top 40 and Electronic and all-in-all, a pretty good variety. (2) Room Number #2 was where we snuck over too when #1 was getting a bit too crowdy. What set this apart for me was there was SMOKIN going on in this room! Quite the shock for me when coming from California where all INSIDE smoking is banned. But it didn't really bother me, and there was also a good bar here too to keep us busy. 3-4-1 DRINK SPECIAL On this night, Capones has a pretty solid drink special going on. Paying for my one (1) Rum & Coke was $9. HOWEVER, two (2) additional Rum & Cokes were FREE. So basically I had 3-$3 Rum & Cokes. Not bad for a Friday Night outing. CROWD It was a great mixed crowd of people from all sorts of interests and walks of life, and it made for all sorts of interesting dancing with lots of people all at the same time. Capones was the first stop on our Friday night post dinner crawl to visit the bars in the downtown Fort Lauderdale area. We went there because they were featuring an amazing three drinks for the price of one special. It was $9 for a cranberry and vodka but actually paying for one got 2 additional for free! I shared mine with Jamie and we drank about half and then refilled with the third. The drinks were okay but the place was nothing special early on. So Jamie and I left checked out a few other places and came back. When we came back the place was wild and crazy fun. The DJ was acknowledging the Yelp Spring Breakers and we ended up having a fantastic time. So in conclusion, it started off kind of slow but ended up being a pretty wild and fun time. This bar was my introduction to the downtown Fort Lauderdale area on a Saturday night. I was highly impressed. The bartenders (2 females) were very attentive despite the loud music, which is refreshing when you consider the fact that you can have 20-25 people around the bar vying for their attention. And plus, they were hot. In being completely honest, I felt as if I was being served by a porn star (a good thing, not a bad thing). Yet she was very, very sweet. In addition, there was a 3 for 1 drink promotion going at the time. Yes, I was correct in saying that. 3 FOR 1!!! There were dancing employees that gave me a free table dance of sorts while on the bar, and that was a thrill. I was thinking at the time, "Who needs to go to the strip club when you can come here?" Lol. I normally don't give bars 5 stars for bars, yet this location exceeded my expectations in such a way that it made for a memorable experience. Capone's is one of a handful of bars in the Himmarshee district which has security at the door checking IDs, at least 1 DJ spinning music, a cheezy light show and is usually packed with college age ladies wearing as little as possible, and douche bag Jersey Shore wannabe fellas. The last few times I was here bar service was slower than it should've been, they had a DJ in the main bar area spinning the same Top 40 stuff you'll hear in nearly any bar or club, and they had a side room with its own bar and DJ, spinning hip hop music. So I'll try to use better wording: 1. I have met two young MEN (unrelated and unacquainted with each other) who have been drugged (roofied) at this bar. 2. I experienced unfair treatment on ladies night which I believe could have been motivated by racism. I was refused free drinks and given attitude from the bartender while witnessing the same person serve free drinks happily to women who were not racial minorities. 3. I saw and heard the DJ on the microphone as well as the male patrons of the bar disrespect and body shame the women participating in a dance contest at the time on stage. 4. Many of the patrons at the bar shoved me quite roughly throughout the night without apologizing and I experienced uncomfortable staring and sexually aggressive comments from the men at the bar. 5. If you want to fit-in, most women are wearing very short shorts and tops. If you come dressed a bit conservatively, you could feel out of place. But to each their own! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Bartender is rude and extremely racist! I have been here on many occasions and I have never experienced discrimination like this. I went to the bar by the window. As I walked up, I said Hi to bartender and she did not say anything in return. She looked somewhat annoyed by her facial expressions. I ordered my drink and as I was ordering the Bartender was rolling her eyes and I was trying to ignore it. I just wanted my drink and go dance. She brought me my drink, gave her the debit card and she asked for an ID. I said okay, my boyfriend is right across the bar (pointed at him) I'll go get it. Got his ID walked back and she said I need him to come over (PAUSE! You already knew it was my boyfriends card, so why would you not tell me you need him to come over initially). He waked over and she gave us the receipt. I signed the receipt (which I always do and which I did at the center bar). She looked at the receipt, balled it up and threw it on the floor. I am sure she did that because I did not tip her. She had the nastiest attitude, she was rude and the service was poor. I slid the drink back towards her and I said we want our money back. She signaled the security guard and then made a huge fuss like she was in distress and I got mushed outside by security. She did not even want to give my boyfriend back his ID and card. The police got involved and everything. She walked by the police, caught his attention and then put her hands behind her back in a handcuff motion (WOW!). At this point, I knew this was a battle I was not going to win. Manager never came out by the way. At the center bar, they did not ask for ID when we first ordered and did not have a problem with me signing. Capone's should evaluate the people they hire and their policy. I felt humiliated, disrespected and less than because of a bartenders biases. I was just there for a good time! It really breaks my heart to be treated like this in a place I have been to numerous times. There are multiple reviews on similar situations. Wild place! Have you been to a dive dancing bar? That's one! Right in the heart of Downtown, in between another doZen of bars, at a perfect location for a memorable bar hop! Drinks are fine, nothing fancy or to special about them. They have a 3-4-1 drink specials that can be a incentive to start your night with them. The bartenders are quite efficient considering it can get crazy wild sometimes. The music could be better, the DJ seemed not to understand the crowd, because he would do the hot-cold type of music choice: instead of keep the good track going on when people where having a blast, he would just play a random track throwing everybody out of the dancing zone. This definitely was my least favorite bar on our crawl. The smoking was a major issue for me and I generally felt like it went from dead to HUGE SPACE ISSUES within 20 minutes. I really liked our bartender's personality, but she was majorly slow and when I ordered a "make me something fruity" she didn't tell me what was in it due to the noise level in the space. It really was an earplug moment. All in all I wasn't a huge fan of the drink or most of the music, so this 3-1 drink special didn't get me going... one lousy drink for three? Went here with some YSB15 friends the other day and enjoyed the 3-for-1 drink specials. How it works is that you pay $8-9 for one drink and you get two more drinks of your choosing, though I think it has to be house drinks or simple stuff like cranberry vodkas, Screwdrivers, etc. You don't have to drink all of them at the same time though, they give you a card that you can present at the bar later. The YSB15 thing was actually a bar crawl, but I was tired from the day so I only went to the stop LOL. It was a fun bar and I would maybe go back when in the area. read more

Nice bar with dance area. Can get a bit "ratchet" at times. Popular nights are Friday's and Saturdays. Sunday is industry night and it's my favorite night to go. In my honest opinion this establishment was horrible; it's spring break so i understand there will be long lines but we waited in a 45 minute line to be let into a hot packed bar with horrible music. It took us an additional 45 minutes for the bartender to even look our way even though we were at the front of the bar waiting (at every single bar in there this happened). HOWEVER be warned it was kinda a trashy college type of bar, the guys are kinda creepy and the female staff walks around half naked...but sometimes those places are the most fun! No cover charge, no lines, drinks are cheap, none of that boujie blah blah fluff stuff you gotta buy a table at the door if you wanna come in place. My friends and I really let loose and danced the entire night. Great DJ the music was perfect and flowing. I lost my phone on Saturday night and tracked it on find my iPhone, found out it was at/ near Capones so my friend messaged their Instagram account. The manager promptly responded to the message in a polite, friendly and professional manner. He even met me at the bar on Easter Sunday, hours before the bar actually opened. Allow me to tell you guys about my awesome experience at Capone's! Copying this straight from the email I sent to their management which they have yet to respond. On Friday March 24th at around 10pm my friend and I stopped by your establishment for some drinks before we met up with our friends for a birthday celebration. Outside the venue, a promoter handed us a bracelet for a free shot. We enter Capone's and go straight to the bar that is in the middle. There were two female bartenders, one Caucasian female wearing a lingerie outfit and another Hispanic female with black hair that was wearing a grey t shirt and black shorts. After waiting a couple minutes I finally get the Hispanic females attention and show her our bracelets so we can obtain our free shots. She hands us our shots and never says a word or smiles or anything. After the shot, I ordered a vodka pineapple and my friend ordered a beer. There was a 3 for 1 drink special going on which was nice. My friend hands the bartender his credit card to open a tab. My friend is signing the receipt and I tell him that I'll leave the tip in cash after we get our third drink , before we leave. So my friend signs the receipt and the same bartender grabs it. Again, never says one word to us and never even smiled or showed friendly customer service. Within a few minutes, she turns around, throws the tip book on the bar counter and says to my friend "listen honey, don't expect to come inside my bar and not leave me a tip. You're cheap as fuck!" Loudly Infront of me and other patrons that were right next to us. My friend and I were shocked at this behavior & my friend who was embarrassed was forced to leave her a tip on his card. Before I could say anything, the bartender had already turned around and was serving someone else. Soon after we decided to leave and go somewhere else because we were extremely upset with what had just happened. We didn't even finish getting our last two drinks. I have been to your establishment a few times before and never have I seen this kind of behavior. Your bartender definitely put a damper on the rest of our night and to be honest, I will not be coming back to Capone's in the future. Maybe if the bartender you employed was more friendly and smiled and talked to customers, she would get a lot more tips. Attacking patrons and using foul language like that is unacceptable and not the correct way to obtain tips. So there's the story of my awesome experience. You're supposed to EARN your tips based on the service you provide. This bitch looked like she hated being there and I just can't believe an establishment would allow this kind of behavior.
