I don't typically leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience. I'll start with the one positive: the facility itself was clean. Unfortunately, everything else about the visit was disappointing. My husband and I came here to celebrate my birthday, and it was also our first time visiting since recently moving to Massachusetts. When we arrived around 10:30 PM, we went to purchase tokens for the arcade games. At that time, we were told we should buy all the tokens we wanted immediately because token service would be closing in about 20 minutes. This seemed unusual considering the business advertises closing at 2:00 AM. I mentioned that we could simply use the self-service machines later if needed, but we were told those might also be shut down soon due to being short staffed. We then decided we would just get drinks and bowl instead, but we were informed that the bartender would also be leaving shortly. When I said we would just order drinks right away, we were then told the bartender was currently on break. At this point, I was confused and frustrated because we had called the business only a couple of minutes before arriving and were not told that services would be shutting down early. We had specifically planned our evening based on the posted hours. Another staff member kindly offered to sell us bottled drinks but explained he could not make cocktails until the bartender returned. While purchasing those drinks, we were also told that lane purchases would be closing soon due to the same staffing issue. At that point, we decided to just pay for two games of bowling and end the night early since it seemed like multiple services were shutting down. After we started bowling, the bartender returned from break. When I finished my drink and went to the bar to order a mixed drink, I stood there waiting for some time. The bartender made eye contact with me, but then proceeded to serve another guest who had just walked up after me. I found this frustrating and ultimately decided not to order anything further. I understand that staffing shortages happen and that employees can have difficult shifts. However, the lack of communication about services closing early and the overall experience made what was meant to be a special birthday outing very disappointing--especially as a first experience at this establishment. I hope this was an isolated situation, but based on this visit, I unfortunately would not recommend it. read more

If you have a partner, wife, girlfriend, whatever and they come to support you as you play games, even for an hour or two, DO NOT BRING THEM HERE. Management and security will get on you about them "loitering". Thanks for making my partner cry for hours for sitting there and supporting me for an hour or two on some nights that I go during the week, despite the place being empty. She typically does play a game or two some nights and buys food or drink there frequently, but that apparently isn't enough for management. I will be recommending that any person who has a partner who doesn't play as many games as them look elsewhere for an arcade. This place is no longer it. Outside of that, it is a great place for DDR and other rhythm games, but please treat your paying customers and their partners better. read more

I came out to round 1 with my family for my brother's birthday around 8 pm on Saturday night. They decided to close the bar at 9pm with no last call. The bar was scheduled to remain open until at least 1am. I spoke to the people working there for about an hour before Dennis the manager explained staffing shortages are heavily affecting the operations of the bar. Tonight I visited Round 1 and was utterly disappointed about the lack of training the associates receive on digital loyalty memberships. I created a digital membership at the front desk, where one of the perks is that the member will receive one free activity for signing up. When I asked the associates about the membership, which is posted throughout the Game Card area and on the iPad at the front desk, they either 1. did not know how to use the app or 2. informed me to wait to speak to a supervisor who was also unaware of how to use it. Again, I was disappointed because I looked forward to trying the bowling after years of coming to Round 1. I think that Round 1 is a great entertainment center. Still, this experience has made me think twice about visiting again, especially considering how much the amount of credits to play a game is. Round1 Holyoke is great. The environment is great. At Round1 it doesn't matter if you are a hardcore rhythm gamer or a casual arcade goer, Round1 has something for you. I personally enjoyed playing Dancerush Stardom, Wacca Reverse, and NesicaxLive fighting games. I would especially recommend it if you enjoy Japanese games/anime. read more

If I could rate Negative I would, Manger on duty, General Manger on duty where extremely unhelpful. Terms and conditions claim you can use your cards at all locations without expiration WHICH WAS NOT TRUE!!!! While I drove over 3 hours to get there for kids to play because the one near us closed I have over 50,000 tickets and over $200 In play points but when I asked for help I was told NO. Mangers both claimed they have 0 access to pull data off cards and NOTHING they would do to help. I called a corporate number which the managers claimed there was non but in fact there was and I got the District Mangers email J-Cartwright@Round1usa for assistance. Emailed issues with pictures of cards and still 0 responses for help. So basically I'm SOL with Money and Tickets on cards to include a 3 hour drive. Place was clean and staff eager to help. The purchasing system is overly complex and many card machines broken. Bathrooms were very far away for folks with mobility challenges or small children. Pinball games lacked bounce. But we loved the selection of Japanese rhythm games! And the place was chill until about noon. Game were loud but no blasting music- read more

I came here with my little brother we did 90 mins of bowling which did come up to $48.50. The shoe rental buttons were not working so we had to wait a while for someone to assist us. Then During our game the lane stopped working. You could request for service through the machine mind you the time keeps running as you wait. We waited over 20 Mins. That's when I told my brother to find a worker. One of the workers finally came over & I told him we've been waiting for ever and he apologized stating he's just finding out. Then he went over banged on the lane where the balls comes out and then left leaving us with only 5 mins remaining of the game instead of adjusting our time. Lots of fun games plus bowling. I wouldn't recommend it for young children. We brought our 5 yr old granddaughter and there weren't many games she could play, but she enjoyed bowling - for a while. Haha. The food was good also. We would definitely go back on our own. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I booked a birthday party for 20 guests for my daughter's birthday. Called three weeks in advance, spoke to "party manager" Katie. I didn't have any issues with the original reservation, she stated that I needed to leave a $100 deposit but "you have time, as long as it is 4 days in advance for the food". She had my name, phone number and confirmed all of my information. Party was scheduled on a Friday, I went in person on that Monday to leave my deposit. When I told her that I was there to leave my deposit for a party on Friday, she went over to her planner and came back stating that she didn't have my deposit, I said "that's why I am here, to leave my deposit," she said "but we needed it 4 days in advance for the type of party you booked" to which I replied, this is 4 days in advance! She then challenged me, that maybe I didn't speak to her because there is more than one party manager. I asked what the issue was because we are still 4 days out, she replied "I do not have availability on Friday for the type of party that you booked." (proof that she had my info because she knew what I originally booked) She overbooked and canceled my reservation without ever even calling me. My daughter started crying, it was a disaster!! Katie NEVER took responsibility, NEVER showed empathy, NEVER helped with a solution, and had the audacity to challenge my recollection of our phone conversation. The kids that work there know absolutely zero about customer service and if Katie has 'Manager' anywhere in her title Round1 should be embarrassed. I would never give them a single cent ever again. This place is awesome we came to the soft opening and are so impressed. Very inviting clean such a fun time for a family or a date night. The staff were incredibly helpful and enthusiastic about the new place. They have bowling alley, pool and every video game you can thing of. They have food beer and wine. All in all it wasn't horrible. Completely over priced. Service was slow, had a bunch of young kids who seemed over whelmed. They were all nice though and opened up the kitchen when short staffed. Such a fun place! I love arcades and this one has a lot of games! The claw machines are kind of a rip off, but that is to be expected everywhere. My boyfriend did end up winning me a stuffed animal though, so I was happy. The best part though is wine and beer is 1.99 and these are huge glasses! Way better deal than Dave and Busters. Even the food is really cheap too! Everything is in great working condition also. I would definitely come back if I was in this area again. read more

I just came for the arcade and I think i missed some of it because I was only on the 2nd floor. I loved the variety of games including claw machines. I think I was playing the ufo ones wrong though (like most people) because the claws are so weak they don't even pick up the large stuffed animal at all. According to you tube videos (yes I'm that person now) you have to stab them to knock them off balance and in the prize shoot...next time. I enjoyed the coin pusher games but it can be hard to get cards out. I didn't bother with food because I didn't want to wait in line. I thought 1.99 beer and .99 cent ice cream was a great idea. Staff was hard to find so if you won a game that needed to be restocked or a game where you get a ball in a certain part of a muffin tin (!) you had to get a staffer to get the prize. So if you're alone you don't want to leave the machine. Also they kept resetting those games which i thought was crappy. Prize area was fun but some flaws. The scanner was broken so in order to know how many points (tickets) you had you had to exit the prize area and go to a kiosk where you add credits. I don't think most people would know this. The prizes were over priced for the most part and I think 10-15% weren't marked with how much they cost. Also the poor redemption area worker was by herself and they have a crazy system for redeeming tickets and even crazier for redeeming tokens and cards from the coin pushers, it takes a long time and holds up families behind you. Horrible experience. Wrongfully accused my party and I for vaping. When we asked to talk to management / see the "video footage" the security guard claimed to have, we were denied. The management was definitely trying to kick us out (a party of 6 (already paying for unlimited games)) for another party simply to make some more $$. Don't come here unless you want your money to get stolen. I came here on the grand opening (3/23) and put $100 on a game card to get the most credits. I played about $30 dollars worth of games and left with about $70 and about 800 tickets on the card. I returned on (4/5) and tried to use the same game card and the swipers were giving me an invalid card error. I go up to the guest counter and explain the situation. The employee scans the card and tells me that the account is inactive and there is nothing on the card. She calls over a manager who never showed up. After about 5 minutes a lower level manager comes over and scans the card again. She explains that the card I gave her has never been activitated and they have no records of my purchase or account. This doesn't make sense since there is no way to obtain a blank card either through the express machines or through the game card desk. You have to add value to a card at the time of purchase. I show her my Apple Pay reciept to which she replied 'that's not good enough' and said there is nothing more she could do. Round1 could have been a great place to hangout but their shady business practices make it a must avoid. Go ANYWHERE else for bowling and arcade games because Round1 will take your money and delete your account. read more

The service here is INSANELY horrible. I don't even know where to begin. My friends waited an hour at the bar for two bud lights because the kid behind the counter couldn't serve us. The bar was also supposed to be open at 12 and this was at 3:00-4:00pm. The taps weren't ready yet, literally filling the cups with foam. Like 3 managers had to try it. Not only that, but they couldn't log into the register AT ALL to even process the purchase. Instead of just, I don't know, taking the money and giving us the beer so they could figure it out later, we waited there until they told us to go to the food register. 10 minutes of waiting at the food register, we're told to go back over to the bar register to pay. Ok. Also pouring two bottles into a glass doesn't make something "on draft". We then decide to bowl. Apparently this was a mistake. It began when the girl behind the counter charged us full price ($50) without telling us we could get a discount with our club card. When we said something, the manager says loudly in front of us, "he really has to tell us this beforehand, we're not supposed to do that," to which my friend replied "she didn't even tell us!" Fast forward a few days later, my friend finds out he was changed $50 TWICE. I truthfully don't even know where these people came from. I worked in customer service for 4 years, and the LEAST they could've done was say, "we are so sorry for the inconvenience," instead of "it's not our fault". (When clearly most of it is). read more

If you are a tax exempt organization I would not go here. They do not follow tax exempt laws and they refused to give a group of staff and students from my school tax exempt status. Instead, they told my coworker that she would have to pay the tax upfront and then would receive a check for the amount of the tax after the fact. I work for a 501(c)(3) private school and while we are a small school, we have a group of students who would go to Round 1 for bowling at least 2 times a month instead of driving 20 minutes to the next nearest bowling alley. Now, we'll keep making the drive because that bowling alley follows tax exempt laws. read more

The place is clean, except for the foul urine smell by the restrooms. Food is decent, could be better. I do have to say, the wonderful lady (I did not get her name but she was wearing glasses and this was in the early evening of Tuesday), she is worthy of recognition. She was wonderful, heartfelt, relatable and warm. I would love to hire her if we had more time to exchange. She was amazing! Price is not bad, could be worse. I understand that outside food and beverage is not allowed inside. However, I would think that a lot of people will be celebrating when they book party rooms and therefore a cake will be part of that. Suggestion: maybe partner with a local cake maker so that people do not miss out on that all time classic celebration cake in any occasion. This way, you can get the order for the cake and provide that service to your customers at the same time. It's just too bad that this is missed. The employees are nice and friendly. Needs a little sense of urgency but they are all friendly. The karaoke room is a great concept. I do think that the audio-video unit should be checked, balanced and fixed. The microphones sound horrible, to be honest. Part of my work involves AV and this is why I have the ear for it. The output keeps cutting out every 2 seconds. We just decided to do away with the mics after exhaustingly trying to figure it out. There should also be a customer service call button in the room so that the guests are not rushing in and out to get or find someone to assist. Bowling and arcade were great. We had fun but just wanted to provide meaningful feedback that could be used... or not. There is a great potential for this space, if staffed and utilized wisely. The GAMES: Extremely confusing pricing scheme and some rather expensive games. There are many choices for cards to activate and amounts to put on the cards, some cards can only be used for certain things. My advise is to look online and try to get a good idea of the best value for you and your group based on what you wanna do (arcade games/air hockey/bowling) and price out the best value card for you, before you get there. We did not do this and we were overwhelmed walking in. I can't imagine being there with kids not knowing what to expect, as we did. In the words of my boyfriend "I'm an engineer for a major technology company and I still can't figure out this pricing system" slightly exaggerated but not really. Just be aware. We ended up getting two (red) cards with $20 (92 points) on them. (Note new cards also have a $2 activation fee per card) We could use these red cards on most games. (I only care about skeeball) The games, that we played anyway, seemed to cost anywhere from 4 to 10 points, most seemed to be 6.4 points(? Ya, Odd) we played everything from skeeball/ice ball, to pinball, to Daytona 500 racing, to giant claw machine. I noticed that if you want to get a little photo print in their photo booth thingy it was 24points. The BAR has very reasonable prices for drafts and bottles of beer as well as wine. I thought this would be the saving point for us. Decent selection ranging from $1.99 to $5 per drink. It's not ran like a normal bar, more like a food counter. The process of getting a drink is long and painful at least it was on a Saturday afternoon with one staff working at this station. I'd say from when we got in line maybe with three or four people in front of us, it had to have taken at least ten minutes for us to get our IDs checked and beer orders taken. It really felt like a really long time to just get a drink. As a former high volume bartender at a busy nightclub, with a full bar, I don't understand why this process is so drawn out. It definitely slows you down between those $1.99 drafts. (Maybe that's the point.lol) An hour later we got in line again to try and grab another drink before we gtf out of there and after standing for a more than reasonable amount of time with the line not moving we opted to just leave. I think we both still had a few points on the cards. Hopefully, if I ever end up going back, they will still be there. I'd like to try going back later in the evening or on a weeknight to compare experiences. On a positive note, the place seemed clean and there were quite a few games of all kinds. There were many people of all ages there who appeared to be having fun. We did not try the food but it looked to be appetizing (snack bar type stuff) and reasonably priced. read more

We traveled from Albany, New York for our daughters 10th birthday. We wanted to do something different and found out about your chain of arcades. I will say the variety and organization of the games was awesome, but there were often Multiplayer games with certain buttons broken, or the skee-ball styling bowling, the ball was missing from one of the games. My daughter and I ended up sharing the one ball while trying to play the game against one another. In order to find a teammate you had to completely leave the gaming area and wait in line at guest services. There was an overwhelming smell of cat urine throughout the entire place, the smell hits you as soon as you walk through the door. Which lead us to decide not to get anything to eat or drink. There were no designated "cleaners" on the floor, at no time during my 3 hours there did I see one game sanitized or wiped down. There were patrons laying on the floor using the outlets to charge their phones. I physically had to step over a man because he refused to move. There were no employees checking people's IDs or counting for occupancy when we entered. We saw signs all over the mall and even at the main entrance stating that occupancy was being monitored, hence the inner mall entrance being closed to the public. We walked in and the first thing we see is an empty table and chairs (where it would seem employees had been set-up) with hand sanitizer and more signs but no employees to greet us. My daughter enjoyed herself, which is the most important part but after spending over $200 in tokens there was almost nothing available in the prize room within our ticket range. We had over 2000 tickets and decided to save them and perhaps return another time in hopes the prize room would be re-stocked and re-organized by the time we return...if we decide to return. Most of the prizes were not labeled, a lot of the prizes could be found in several different random places around the room. The only items that were labeled were the extremely high ticket items. There were prizes that had been broken, soiled or ripped out of the package just laying around. So the prize room was definitely the most disappointing part of the trip. I think as a business you guys really have something here, the idea is great but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. I honestly don't know if we will be returning after sending this, I actually didn't realize just how many things were lacking until I listed them here. What really sucks is the money we spent and the time we traveled to have a unique experience for our daughters 10th birthday and while she had fun, I can tell you as a parent and a paying customer I came away from the experience generally disappointed. read more

Don't ever have a birthday here I paid $330 to with food poisoning or something along with my fellow party guest. I have been vomiting all night with other symptoms. highly upset with management because they still have not given me a call when I called several times yesterday to speak with a manager. They kept saying I'll take down your name and your number and I'll have a manager call you back. The other things I have to complain about is that I had to go up to the food counter or part info to ask where was the food. You can't even keep they left over food. The place as a whole is a good idea but unfortunately the inability to run a functional business as seen in the atrocious service is the only thing I'll remember from this place. To get a drink, normally a five to ten minute process anywhere else, takes about 45 minutes here. Instead of walking up to the bar and placing an order like any normally functioning bar would do, here you have to punch in you drink at a kiosk, get the receipt for it, then bring it up to the cashier who punches it in again at the bar, rings you out, and then gets your drink. And the only one working behind the bar is the SINGLE cashier (who I feel bad for because they give him no help and he has a line of 25+ people waiting for 45 minutes). While in line I saw at least 10 people walk out. Terrible way to run service. read more

Don't go unless you want to wait 30 minutes in line for everything. Only 1 bartender and you can only have one beer at a time. People were getting a beer and getting back in line. Manager needs all 5 people to wait in line again for 30 min to get a pitcher so we had to leave our lane and then all of our balls got taken. Everything expensive and poor customer service. Instant hit with my family! Like Chuck E' Cheese on steroids lol Great games for the kids, plushy machines for days, and we always win at least one. I won a giant Yoshi for my son and was a hero for the day. They've got beer for the adults at 2 to 3 dollars a pop, and the pizza is no bad at all. We eat, we drink, we play, and we always leave happy. We brought my daughter for her birthday and we'll be bring my son for his birthday too. I haven't tried the bowling so I can't comment. I had my sons party at round one and let me say it was horrible and expensive I don't suggest having a party here. I was miss lead with unlimited food and they did not hold up to it. They claimed i only get good twice and the second round was only half of the first round we'll try telling that to 17 hungry kids I was better off ordering 4 party sizes and then buying game cards for 1 hr play.
