The bowling was a lot of fun! The scene is cool, the service is awesome, and everyone was friendly! Because I'm an avid bowler I was by myself and they gave me a discount! Great customer service! The milkshake bar is very close to the Bowling so in between games I stopped and grab one of the mega milkshakes pictured below. It looks amazing however it is severely lacking in taste. I wish they did a better job with that to make it less luxurious-looking and better tasting. The flavors just weren't there. The experiences there were great the pizza was good, and the bowling was the best part and I would want to live there if I can.

A very good bowling alley. The place is clean, and each lane is well maintained and properly greased. This isn't often the case with bowling alleys of this size, as many of them will resort to using lower oil percentages on the lanes to cut operating costs. But the oil concentration on these lanes is sufficient enough to a point where they are suitable for some good competition, especially for the bowling clubs and teams that come here. This place is also especially affordable compared to the other alleys nearby, and is a great, cheap, fun solution to boredom. The cheap shoe rentals and the per game structure of payment as opposed to an hourly rate is also what elevates this alley over the rest. read more

Used to love this place. Between 2020-2023, my kids and I would go at least twice/week when Kids Bowl Free was active. I would go solo an additional couple times on Sunday and a weekday morning when they offered discounts. Enter the new owners and after adding stupid waste of time score terminals and a bunch of rip off claw machines, they jacked the price higher than the pricey Spare Time. And while they participated in Kids Bowl Free in 2024, they added absurd restrictions designed just to rip people off. Needless to say, my kids and I are now regulars at Spare Time in Windsor Locks when they have decent games and fully participate in Kids Bowl Free. I will never ever return to Shaker Bowl, greed pushed out a long time regular who always got food and drinks to make up for the discounted bowling. So I have to drive an extra 10-15 minutes. Totally worth the $50-$75 I save on bowling each trip. Worst change of ownership ever. read more

They've gone to an hourly rate (it's $45ish for the lane and shoes for two players), and they just ring you up for an hour without mentioning that you can do 30 or 45 minutes. Also, they don't mention that your game can literally end with a ball on the lane in the ninth frame of a game. Asked for clarification of this at the front desk, and was met with blank stares by both of the staff on duty. This is an obvious cash grab to try to turn their lanes over more, but absolutely awful from a user experience perspective. We will not return, and our kids have been to Shaker Bowl for 75% of their birthday parties since they were little. Another sad business putting profit motives ahead of their customer's experience. read more

We patronized Shaker Bowl because the bowling prices at MGM Casino were too exorbitant for our parsimonious selves ($56 for an hour, really?). At any rate, we bowled two exciting games at Shaker Bowl for $12 (including the shoes rental). This is the cheapest price I've ever payed for bowling, and this bowling alley is really nice inside. The gentlemen at the front was very gregarious and apparently an excellent bowler who bowls 300 games. I highly recommend this bowling alley to all! read more

Bowling there was fun however the place is dirty, the staff could not cut pizza properly and the absolute worst thing in the world happened to me. I went to the bathroom to pee and simply just flushed the toilet and the toilet started to spray water all over me and the entire stall and at the bottom started to leak water. There was no sign, and when I went to the staff they looked at me and said there's nothing that they could do. I asked to speak to the manager and he was nice enough to apologize Instead of just staring at me. I am personally never returning, go at your own risk. read more

Shaker is a great bowling alley, with a little arcade, food and drinks! Even drinks for the adults! They have these cute dinosaurs that are used to assist your little munchkin get some inertia to get the ball rolling. We always have a lot of fun here. It's a very popular place, so I recommend calling in advance to determine if you could even bowl and try to reserve a spot, there are lots of parties and leagues that get their bowl on here. Now THIS is a bowling alley! Walked in with my own equipment, first time there, guy at counter immediately gave me a pair of lanes, no questions asked. Didn't ask how many games, just said to pay at the end. Perfect! Bartender was cool, opened up just to get me a beer. Nice people, terrific bowling environment. The staff is great and on top of things, but didn't galactic bowling used to be better? It was way too bright, the music was quiet and sucked (they played "merry Christmas/happy holidays" by NSYNC. hello. It's JUNE. and 2011!!) We were super bummed that there was no jukebox or dj, and also be warned that the bar only serves beer or smirnoff ice. Get some hard liquor in there, guys. That shit is gross. Always enjoy coming here for a good bowl! They don't have a large option for drinks, but the music is nice and there is always a dj when we have gone that gives out little prizes and what not. It's better on weekdays except for when there are leagues. I prefer going here than Chicopee lanes. It's always a weirder atmosphere in Chicopee (more ghetto) but their food is better than here. I guess it's a win-lose! Lol oh well, I will still go back!! read more

Came here with my friend Liz and my sister Danice. We were feeling a bit of friendly competition (as well as looking for another way to keep out of the cold and snowy mess outside!). The bowling was good times, I got to demonstrate my skills...or extreme lack thereof... but was all in good fun. Didn't get food here today, but they have your typical bowling alley food fare. Pretty good prices (about $5 a game), with half price specials a couple nights per week from 9pm to close as well as all-you-can-bowl deals ($17 per person). Great family-friendly fun and good for all ages. I contemplated docking half a star for the crazy disco/strobe lights that busted out right before the start of our final game (apparently part of another alley event), but decided against it. While I still maintain I would have done a lot better without the distracting lights, I think my competition suffered as well, putting us all on a level playing field. Plus... it was fun(ny) watching the high school boys in the lane next to us break out the dance moves... so bonus points for added entertainment! read more

We have an uneven family so someone bowls on both lanes to make it even. We never had a problem with that until yesterday when we were charged for an extra bowler. We explained why did it and still got charged. We will go to Chicopee from now on. read more

Shaker bowl is a great place to take the whole family! I came here with my son and daughter and it is awesome! First of all, this place is very clean! They take reservations too! Went here on a Friday night to bowl with a total of 3 adults and 2 kids. They charged $17 a person for a total of $85 for 2 hours of bowling at their run down facility. We are used to bowling for $15 an hour total at a superior lane in Southcoast Massachusetts so this was a shock. And this with two of us having our own shoes. Everything was run down. They didn't have 15 pound or 8 pound balls, which we were used to using. Balls were chipped and in poor condition. Put bumpers on for the kids and the bumpers were broken and didn't even go up. Print on the buttons for the control panel was worn so we had trouble controlling our screen. Screen didn't even tell you how much time was remaining. They had a raffle which we won ... we won 50% off one person's fee next time we come, big whoop. Not going back to this place even though their company unfortunately has a monopoly on Western MA bowling with their many other facilities. read more
