This was one of the quickest refinances I have been through (less then 30 days!). I would definitely use Roundpoint Mortgage again. I was also impressed with how advanced the company was with technology and allowed me to load all my documents through a secured website. We live in Calif. and we were in New York when the loan was approved. Within two days after the approval we were signing papers at our hotel in New York. It doesn't get much easier then that! Very professional team. Quick answers, very helpful on the document uploads. My company moved me across the country several times. This experience on this mortgage was by far the best of all of them. Every one was cheerful and made me felt like I was the only person getting a loan. Special thanks to Carl Boglin and Jamie Chanthaboury. Michael Davidson read more

It is now December and we submitted our refinance application in mid-August. While everyone is friendly, they seem incapable of identifying all needed documentation at one time. The only thing I can figure is that they stop reviewing as soon as they identify something they want, only to to pick up where they left off when that is provided. I have responded within 24-48 hours for every request, yet it is now approaching 4 months of processing due to the drip, drip, drip of requests. As an example, back in September they requested copies of the HOA CC&Rs and budget. I provided them immediately by electronic upload online. Here it is December 2nd, and they are just now getting around to asking for "updated" budget docs since what I provided was a copy of the financial audit for the fiscal year ending June 2013, which they consider "expired". Of course I will now provide a copy of this year's budget, but no one will even acknowledge this should have been asked for back in September when I first responded to their request. This is just one example and I could go on for many paragraphs. The only reason we haven't dropped them is because we don't want to lose our sunk costs (appraisals, HOA processing fees, etc.) and because we keep thinking surely each request is the last. Bottom line, unless you don't care how long it takes or how frustrating it is to get "just one more request", stay away. I will update this if we ever get this finished. read more

My crappie mortgage broker ended up selling my loan to these people after my refi.. The broker I was referred to by a friend was another nightmare altogether. I have condo insurance through state farm already. Now round point has been pestering me for wind Insurance from my Condo association? ?? I never have been bother for this from my last bank and have no idea why they are.. I ended up faxing them TWICE a binder of the condo boards insurance which shouldn't be me doing this crap at all.. Ughhh what a head ache so far.. Now I'm at the begging of selling my house and waiting for the final contracts to come back from the buyer.. I'm really praying that I'm not going to get a headache with Round Point and hoping they are responsive with the Deed, etc... I don't need any issues with this closing and boy let me tell you this whole home buying, selling, refinance and been a painful learning experience.. 1. Always go with a large bank or make sure you do your homework on the prospective bank.. 2. DO NOT TAKE REFERALS FROM FRIENDS!!!. They could be the best at what they do but if they refer you to someone that screws up your loan, as they did mine you are in for an annoying experience. The dope that I used told me I was approved for a rate of 3.7 percent and then gave me the assumption he locked in the rate. He actually waited until the rates climbed and locked me in at 4.6 percent. I wanted to strangle this guy and my jack ass friend for referring me to this crook.. read more

I HATE ROUNDPOINT MORTGAGE! They are clueless and you can't find anyone that speaks clear English. The first year everything was fine then all of the sudden they started withdrawing an extra $450 to cover property taxes and insurance....which I pay on my own and made sure it was set up that way from the beginning. I have contacted them 5 different times to reslove this and they still haven't corrected it. I am about to close my checking account so THEY will have contact me for payment. VERY FRUSTRATING read more

I have been in the Restoration Business for going on 9 years. I process about 30 to 40 loss draft checks per month with various other banks. Till this date i have never seen a harder company to deal with than Round Point. They were trying to sell the person loan to another Mortgage Broker. However because the Mortgage holder was behind on their payments they wanted to keep the LOSS checks in escrow to make the file look better. So Round point stated that 3 different authorization to speak we sent in was invalid. One was invalid after i spoke to two different reps and had sent in all the paper work was required. It wasn't till after they released 25% of the funds they did not want to use this one. They stated it had a electronic signature not a physical. He/she then put me on a silent hold on two different occasions for over 45 mins. The first time this happened, one time a manager picked up and completely apologized. He entered the phone call acting like he knew nothing about the file. His name was Alex, 2 weeks later he hadn't called us back and was still ignoring the voice mails and phone calls. They stalled this loan for 3 months and after 2 months stated that they were releasing the checks. After 2 weeks we call back asking where the check was. The rep told us it was not issued yet but it had been cut. They were waiting on a signature. Instead of releasing all the funds, they released 25% of the funds with no explanation. The first 25% or 33% in most banks procedures is to be released before the project is even started. This one had been completed for 4 months! When speaking to the rep about releasing all the funds, i asked him if he had the inspection, the paper work and everything that was needed. I asked him this, like i always do, in 3 different directions. He stated over and over again all the funds are being released, we have everything we need. They knew everything they were doing was wrong! But they were being told by their management staff to do it. This company does not care about laws or customer service. But instead they do everything in their power to delay the process to keep the funds in escrow a little longer. In this case long enough to get another back to buy the loan. I has now been 4 months since they received all the checks and over 6 months since the project was completed. And we still have not got the checks returned to us because the new bank states they did not send over all the paper work correctly. Round point has the worst loss draft department i have ever dealt with! And will break any law or rule to get what they want. Case in point sit on hold for 45 mins like i did one time! I mowed my entire yard listing to classical music before some picked up and then disconnected the call. read more

It has been 14 weeks now waiting for our escrow check and there is no end in sight. We even were contacted by Omar, the public relations guy and when we wrote him a long email ... guess what .... nothing happened. We will now go legal against this company and hope for all of you out there that you will never have to deal with such incompetent people. We asked for a bank transfer, but they refuse to do so. We don't know what to do anymore.... Anybody out there with the same issue? We should get together and go after them! read more

No communication and horrible customer service. They say they can help with a simple refinance but then have restrictions and can't do any loans unless the loan to value is 80%, but they don't tell you that until you ha e gone through the entire process. My mortgage was sold to this company by Ruoff Mortgage Company. They have been unable to get my city taxes and my insurance payments correct over the last year. Multiple calls were made and only lies we're given by this company. Telling me taxes and insurance were paid when they were not. We refinanced with them 18 mos. ago and they were by far the hardest and slowest company we have used. It took close to 2 months! We have done about 10 mortgages and refi's over the years as we own 2 homes. They alsohold the mortgage( unfortunately) and have called me 5 times on my cell phone to get me to do an automatic payment from my checking. And they told me they also now call if they do not get the payment by the first. What? The grace period gives you until the 12th? They also made a mistake and sent a bill 5 months ago saying I was late and I had the cancelled check for the payment that had cleared on the 3rd. Then the next month I got NO bill but luckily called in and paid it which they wanted to charge me 15.00 dollars for - but they waived it which was something at least. They had the best rate at the time but NOT worth the small savings. The only saving grace is that when you call their customer svce. dept they are fairly helpful. read more

My experience seems to parallel may others I am reading about - great start and communications through the appraisal, total crap after. My Loan Officer, Alyson Myers, was very communicative at the beginning, but for the last month all I get to my inquiries as to why NOTHING is happening with my APPROVED loan is "we are behind, but within a week you should be closing." Well, it is now the end of August, two months after I started the process, and a month after I had submitted ALL my paperwork, and still nothing. In fact, now it is worse. I asked for my case to be escalated to management, and to be provided that person's name and contact information, and now no reply at all. I am stuck in mortgage limbo, and can only hope they will honor my supposedly locked-in rate and actually complete the loan process. At this point, I would not only not recommend them, I would actively discourage anyone I know from using them. read more

Over-promise and under-deliver. My wife and I have excellent credit history, I am employed, no criminal record, never declared bankruptcy, etc. I chose RoundPoint for their rates after the loan officer, Nathan Cook assured me that the company was now closing loans on time, within a month. I explained that I did not have my 1040 form for my 2011 tax return but had the IRS transcript, which the IRS makes available for things such as mortgage applications. I submitted all of the information in October, including the transcript for the 2011 tax return with explanation that the IRS could provide a copy of the actual form but that it would take up to 75 days. On November 27, RoundPoint wrote that underwriting had reviewed my application (The process began on October 2, with assurances from Nathan Cook that we could close within a month), and still required the form 1040. I asked what information was required that was not included in the IRS-provided transcript, and STILL noone has answered that question. After 2 more weeks of deliberation, RoundPoint denied my loans because it would take too long to provide the photo copies of the actual 1040 form on which I filed my 2011 taxes. The company has been a huge waste of time, during which interest rates have increased, and they still have not been able to explain what information I was not able to provide. My email to RoundPoint in response to their declining our loan: Dear Nathan: My wife and I are surprised and disappointed, both at the time it has taken to process our loan, and RoundPoint's decision to withdraw the loan as evidenced by Erin Schweitzer's forwarded email dated December 16, 2013. My surprise is rooted in the fact that from the outset -- indeed, from our initial conversation in early October -- I explained we only had a transcript for our 2011 tax return. I reiterated that point when uploading documentation to the RoundPoint website on October 7. In emails to Stephanie Wacaster on October 24 and again on October 29, I explained the situation yet again in the course of submitting additional material. To date we have submitted 55 separate documents detailing our personal and financial information. This is in addition to the 100+ pages of authorizations and disclosures we signed and uploaded for each of the two loan applications. The quantity of information provided is extensive. And yet, despite having ALL of the information from our 2011 tax return (from the IRS-provided transcript, so its accuracy is assured), our loan applications are being cancelled 12 weeks into the process because I no longer have a copy of the return filed for 2011. This cancellation occurs after you assured us by email that the loans would be closed within a month. To date, you have been unable to tell me what if any specific information from our 2011 return you are lacking or that I have been unable to provide. If the requirement to have the actual form 1040 form from one's tax return is an external requirement (State or Federal law, for example), it is understandable that you must deny the loan. However, RoundPoint should have been able to communicate this requirement to us at the beginning of the process; again, I discussed this with you and with others handling our applications. If, on the other hand, the requirement for the form 1040 is an internal one imposed by RoundPoint or the underwriter, the denial of our loans represents a timorous approach by individuals unable or unwilling to evaluate objective information and make a logical decision. In either case, you have wasted more than a month of our time. read more

Please let me tell all of you to please stay away from this horrible company with such poor customer service and not a care in the world!! We were in a 45 day escrow all documents submitted. At day 40 still haven't heard from anyone at Roundpoint. We decided to call Roundpoint ourselves to find out status, thinking we were going to close in 5 days. They said underwriters needed more documents which we provided. After that it all went downhill and they just didn't care!. Underwriters don't know what they are doing. Sellers moved out, we gave notice where we were living and new people moving into our place!! Why why did they wait so late to start working on our loan?? Shouldn't that have been done maybe on day 10 or 15? So all families involved were informed before we were all homeless. In short, we found a new mortgage company that approved our loan in 3 days!! Please don't use this company...you will age 20 years!! read more

I had two mortgages from them, first one was ok, the second one was terrible, I don't have impound account with RoundPoint, but they requested county tax office the annual tax bill, instead I got supplement tax bill, they asked proof to show them I paid taxes, I sent bank check records to the email address they gave, never got email reply, I thought I have paid taxes, after months past, they put me into escrow account without calling me, charged higher monthly fee, still asked me proof to show taxes is paid, finally I call county tax office, tax office staff said RoundPoint paid the annual taxes, and said if I don't have impound account, mortgage company should not request the tax bill, I am still in dispute with RoundPoint, might have to find attorney to straight it out, or re-finance to find a better lender. I don't recommend RoundPoint, please stay away from RoundPoint!!! read more

Our loan was sold by our previous lender to Roundpoint three years ago. For three years in a row now, they have not paid our insurance on time. For the past two years, I have had to pay out of pocket at the last minute in order to keep our policy from expiring because they wouldn't rush payment despite promising they would. Last year we sent a letter expressing our frustration, and got a letter in return (supposedly from the VP) promising that we would not have this error again. Guess what? Same story this year, despite me being proactive and contacting them a month before the bill was due urging them to pay it. Because we are not in a position to refinance or pay off the loan, we are now going to pull our taxes and insurance from escrow and self-pay. The folks in customer service are very nice, but no one seems to be able to "do" anything to address this chronic issue. read more

After buying my new home I never received a payment book so I called my Mortgage Company. They said my Mortgage was sold to Roundpoint Mortgage. I called them to get everything set up. I asked if they would mail me any documentation and they said yes. But they never have except advertising for Home Warranties. I have had them for 2 years now. So I do everything online which is nice and convenient. This company will not contact you about anything. I called them about filing for homestead extemption. I followed there instructions and mailed it in. A month later I called and they said they received but there is missing documents. there is no communication. I got the other sent to them. I now have Homestead Exemption and my property taxes lowered the second year but for some reason my escrow payment is more and they say there is a shortage. Recently I had to file insurance claim. I had to mail the insurance check to Roundpoint so they can sign the check so I can deposit into my checking account. I was sent a package to fill out and get notorized along with the signed check to get repairs to my house. It has been a month so I just called and they stated there was missing documents. I asked why don't they communicate with there customers because this isn't the only time this has happened. I got no answer. So now I have to write a letter and some other stuff and hope it is enough information so they will release the check. Its getting old. I had damages done 2 months ago. Been fighting with insurance and now fight continues with Roundpoint. read more

Buyer beware, if you ever get in trouble and can't pay your full monthly mortgage, they won't work with you and instead will start foreclosure before you even can make payments up and make partial payments. They just keep tacking on penalties. they are impossible to get ahold of and even if you do they keep asking you the same questions over and over again, If that isn't enough, you then have to fill out paperwork over and over again and then they tell you they never received it! We sent it over and over and over again. Finally, we sold the house to get rid of them. read more

This is the worst mortgage company or business establishment I ever dealt with in the past. My mortgage was sold to them years ago and I had nothing but nightmares. Every August I have to go through nightmare of Hazard insurance proofs. This company try to sell you their own and ignore once you send to them multiple times. There is no one to answer questions and help you with anything. My escrow analysis was wrong and I had to get customer advocate to straighten it out, took us couple of months. A few months back I had damage to my home. My insurance company quickly assessed damages and cut a check (made out to me and the mortgage company). The check had to be sent to roundpoint to sign and send back to me. I followed the policies communicated to me by Roundpoint exactly. This included numerous documents completed by me and the contractor not to mention the requirement for them to be notarized. Roundpoint is still unwilling to send me my money and continues to ask for more documentation because the repairs can in less than the insurance claim. I am out the money now and still having to spend my time sending in documents and call them. Terrible customer relationship model. I doubt the interest Roundpoint is making is worth the unhappy customers. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would! This mortgage company has the most messed up way for tracking payments, sends out delayed billing statements, assess random fees at times that the reps on the phone cannot explain. Also, you can't make more than one payment in a "billing cycle" or you have to sign up for ACH drafts. I have done bimonthly payments with other mortgage lenders (to decrease the principal) without all the "authorizing" paperwork needed. It seems a ploy to curtail the payee from doing that. Also, the electronic payments from your bank take "several days to post" so you could in fact get assessed a late fee. Then the late fee will get added to your balance, but will be a payment that needs to be made separately...but the Roundpoint reps won't tell you that either so you could be caught in a perpetual state of being "late" when you think all is good. I can't even explain the billing statement. It even lacks a payment that I made timely from 2 months ago! And, there is no logic to it either. Again, just a way to confuse the customer. This is my FOURTH home and I have NEVER had this issue with other Lenders. I can't wait to end my relationship with Roundpoint. It's too bad they can't seem to get the concept of customer service. Oh, and the reps document differently than what they tell the customer on the phone.....the opposite. IF you can avoid this Lender......than pick ANY other Lender than Roundpoint. read more

Should be zero stars. Horrible. We used Roundpoint to refinance our current house last year. Experience was terrific. So when we decided to purchase a second home we figured we would use them again. BIG MISTAKE. We started the process and got everything uploaded to the site. When we read through the documentation, we saw a 45 day rate lock that would not keep the rate locked through closing. I had explicitly stated there could not be a rate lock yet, but our agent went ahead and locked it anyway. There were penalties for extending the lock that I was not going to pay, but we were reassured this would not be a problem. Still, we were nervous. Then we started getting emails from different people from RoundPoint as the loan moved through the process. Trying to keep that straight was a nightmare. But we finally got someone who seemed to know what she was doing and we found out the loan was approved. Or so we thought. Mind you, we had been up front about this house being a "fixer-upper" and that is why the price was so depressed. Well, the septic system failed and we made agreements with the owner for cash back at closing to get the septic system replaced. No, Roundpoint insisted the septic be replaced before closing. Fair enough, we worked on that part of it for them. Then they came back and said the roof had to be replaced. Roof is fine and was inspected by 2 different roofers. It will need replacing in the next 5-10 years, but existing roof is viable for now. Then it got real entertaining. The underwriter comes back and states the water damage must be repaired on the deck. Water Damage? I saw no report of water damage nor had I ever seen any. I pressed back asking where this was coming from. I was told the appraiser had noted it and it was in the home inspection report I erroneously sent to them. I read both reports. NOT ONE WORD of water damage on the deck. I started asking our agent to produce a punchlist of all items that needed to be fixed before Roundpoint would fund the loan. Remember, this is a "fixer-upper" deal that is underpriced for its location because of the repairs required. I was informed they could not produce such a list. I fired back I had to have a list so I knew what I had to do to insure Roundpoint would fund the loan. Again I was told they could not provide the required list. Upset, I fired back that unless I was given that list I could not possibly continue this process and I asked if I was being unreasonable asking for this list. First I get back an email message indicating our agent would pull our loan. Now angry, I responded informing them I had not asked for that action and if they elected to do so I would have to seek legal action against them Then I get back an email message indicating I should have everything in the home inspection report fixed in order to fund the loan. I pointed out that would make the house no longer a "fixer-upper" and the price would change. The next response I get is our agent refusing to continue with us and has transferred responsibility of our loan to his manager, a VP of RoundPoint. I waited 24 hours to see if the VP responded to the situation. He did not. I finally emailed him and again I got back the water damage on the deck was in the appraisal report and the home inspection report. Again I reviewed these documents and the only reference to any deck was it needs to be powerwashed. I asked the VP if THIS is what RoundPoint has been referring to as "water damage". He sends back that I should follow the recommendation of the Home Inspector. I asked if RoundPoint was seriously holding up funding of a mortgage because the deck needed to be powerwashed. He indicated they would not fund the loan until everything in the appraisal report and home inspection report were repaired. By now, my wife and I were at our wits end with these people. We found a house, negotiated a price based on the condition of the property, were working with the current owner to get the critical issues resolved via repairs or cash back at closing. The seller is a widow who just wanted to liquidate the property and move back to Florida where she had a house and friends. Everyone was working for this deal to go through except for RoundPoint Mortgage. I finally requested they terminate our loan application and we would take the loss on the money we had already paid RoundPoint and find a new bank to work with. We never received confirmation that the loan application had been terminated. When I requested confirmation, all I received back was a one word response from the VP of RoundPoint. "Done." Apparently asking for all the information necessary to go into the closing knowing you have a funded mortgage was beyond their capabilities. Needless to say I would not recommend this company to anyone, and if given the opportunity to move my primary home mortgage away from them I certainly will do it. This is not an organization I really want to be associated with. read more

Roundpoint failed to pay the full amount of my homeowner's insurance at settlement when we refinanced through them. I am currently on month 4. I have been told by 3 different employees that the payment has been authorized. This time when I called to yet again get them to pay the bill, I was told that they no longer had the 3rd party authorization that my husband set up with them 4 months ago. He was told that he would only have to authorize me that one time and then the authorization would last for the life of the loan. Believe all the horrible reviews. We have been with Roundpoint since having our mortgage sold 3 years ago. We didn't have an issue until last month when we changed property insurance. We have changed before without an issue but for some reason this year they are acting like they have never done this before. It has been lie after lie and delay after delay. My insurance was due on June 22nd and no one at Roundpoint has a clue as to where my check is. I was told a check was cut on May 29th but when I called today and talked to a supervisor I was told maybe it wasn't sent out yet because they didn't get a bill until June 6th. If that is the case how did they cut a check a whole week earlier?!? I am now being told they are going to have to do a check trace that could take 3 days and they "will call me when they find it" Excuse me? How about I take over a month to make my next payment and how that works out for me? And guaranteed I will call them before they call me. They are holding MY MONEY that needs to be sent to insurance hostage. As of today I had to pay for my insurance out of own pocket while my funds still sit in escrow with no answers. My next step is to pull all escrow from them to ensure everything is paid on time but it sounds like that will also be a nightmare. I'll gladly keep the interest made off of my account to myself. If I could refi at a lower rate I would be gone in a second. Stay away from Roundpoint! read more

I did not originate my loan with Round Point. My loan was sold to them by the bank that originated my loan. I recently refinanced my loan with another bank and so my loan to Round Point was paid in full. At the next due date, they still auto-drafted my account for a full month's payment. When I logged on my online account, it clearly stated that there was zero balance. When I spoke to their sorry excuse for customer service, they told me that I was at fault because I didn't cancel my autopay online. I would think that if my loan was completely paid off, and there was a zero balance, there would no longer need to pay anything. It was too much to hope that someone in their offices would put two and two together. Anyway, where was all that money going to go to? They said that they would issue me a refund. By check. By mail. They couldn't just refund it directly to my account. The phone rep said to expect it within 7 business days. I called three weeks later, and I was told that it was only issued two days prior to my call, and that it would be another 7 business days. The first rep clearly just lied to me. And don't even bother asking to speak to a manager. They will put you on hold in the hopes that your call will eventually get cut off or you will hang up yourself, out of frustration. read more

Years ago, there was a book written called Rules for radicals...it suggested that, if asked, people don't really know what they want. These reviews seem to prove that point. If you asked people, even some here, whether they think the government should help when you fall behind on your mortgage, or offer protections...they would holler about government assistance being wrong, etc. We know this because when a presidential candidate mentions this, he loses.. And yet, many people here think a company, whose sole role is generate profit, is really going to care if you can't make a payment, or if a payment is late...if you think this, you've led a rather sheltered life...no they will not care, they will raise your interest and everything else if you are late..why wouldn't they, they are a company. When I was renting, my landlord was a pretty nice guy..but I ever had to tell him hey I can't make rent, his niceness would have faded so fast, it'd make your head spin...I knew I just had to make the payment..period. They have auto pay...it works..the loan amount matches what I was told...no surprises...so far, so good...I know if I can't pay for some reason, it's really on me...they do what they function to do...if you want help or assistance when times get tough (they always do), elect better government.. read more

I do not recommend this mortgage company to anyone. Their name comes up in Google search engine as #1Lender, and that is how i came across Round Point mortgage. Upon the first contact, they will forward you a link with good referrals by highly satisfied customers which is nothing but a trap. They are very fast in their initial contacts, they will call you every 5 min to convince you to submit your application. After you submit your application and all the supplements such as the w2's and bank statement and etc, you will not hear from them, before i submitted my applications i made sure they knew when my closing was, and whether they were able to meet the date. i had 40 days from when i submitted my application, and the loan officer was pretty certain that they could close in 30 days. A couple weeks go by and i don't hear anything from them, other than my application is submitted to the processor, and everything looks good. another week goes by and i follow up with emails, and i get no answer. at this point, its a few days before my closing and even with my many tries i am unable to get a person on the phone. Finally, three days before closing, the processor says that she can't verify my w-2. what were they waiting for? i uploaded all my w-2's within 3 days of submitting my application, and it took them 27 days just to verify my application. i tried to work it out with them, and get a date when i could close my loan cause 30 days didn't seem likely to happen. all they said was 'we cannot give you a date, but we will close this loan for you' in the mean time, i paid $100/day for every day that the closing was delayed. finally, i decided to switch lenders, cause Roundpoint mortgage was not responsive. they couldn't even provide me with a closing date. Choosing them as my lender costed me $5000, the very same loan was closed by FIRST SAVINGS BANK in 5 days. I worked with Amy Bass and her team, they are a wonderful team to work with, and will go the extra mile. They are only a phone call away. read more

My mortgage was sold to Roundpoint. I tried to set up auto payments and made my first payment. I thought. Turns out, I omitted a number of my checking account. I received a letter today saying I was delinquent because they couldn't withdraw the money from my account due to the incorrect number. I received $70.00 in fees. If my mortgage had not been sold, there would have been no mistakes and no fees. I've been making house payments since 1985 and this is the first time I've ever received a delinquent fee. Ridiculous. As consumers, we are at the mercy of these financial institutions who buy and sell our mortgages without any input from us. They always say there is a grace period, but figure out ways to charge you with outlandish fees. I sent them an email asking some questions regarding how this thing was supposed to work to make sure the payments are coordinated between the seller and the buyer of the mortgage, and they sent me a response totally unrelated to the question I asked. This company is the PITS. read more

Great experience. Great communication throughout the process. They had competitive rates and Diane Wilkowski was a great loan officer. I would definitely consider using them again. read more

I lost $600 by being lulled into an application by Roundpoint. After a thorough discussion with my contact, Bryant about my needs, debts and tax returns, he worked out an income and debt ratio and "checked it with their underwriters" and told me that I was pre-approved and all set. The day after I applied, I was charged for the Appraisal and called by the appraiser. My appraisal took place two days later. Then I hear that the underwriters say that my debt:income ratio was way too high. That was a surprise. So I called Bryant, who seemed like a really nice guy, but he never ever returned any of my phone calls. So I got in touch with the Customer Advocate, Lauren who was super nice and promised to get the inaccuracies of the way they were accounting for my income and debt straightened out (my own bank's underwriters verified that it was wrong), but ultimately said she could not help me and again just stopped communicating. She claims the company makes $0 from the appraisal process. You'd think it would be hard to stay in business with a system like that. It's probably not true at all. I certainly do not recommend this company. read more

I've done a new home purchase and a refinance through Roundpoint with John Teal and I've had a great experience both times. Their rates were good and the loan was funded before the closing date. John was responsive whenever I had a question and he made sure the loan was on track throughout the process. read more

Really awful experience that I'm currently going through. Loan processing was painfully slow. My credit score is 804. Getting the appraisal was slow and for the underwriters to analyze it before they told us the property needed a reinspection due to utilities not being on before loan could be approved was 2 days before closing date deadline! We got a four day extension, but processor told us just today, that they need additional amendment to the contract! What the heck, why didn't they just tell me that in the beginning of the process so I could have time to look into it?! Don't go with Roundpoint if time is of the essence. Unfortunately, I relied on Zillow reviews when picking them. Will update if this loan actually goes through. read more

Why are online payments only available like 1 in 10 times I try to log into it? I simply wanted to make sure it was set up and it's been saying the service is unavailable for 3 days now! I should be able to check that stuff anytime, any day. Also, for a mortgage company so large, you'd think there would be an app and I didn't have to login into a website that only works a quarter of the time. So frustrating. read more

Unfortunately, my mortgage was instantly sold to Roundpoint, and I couldn't more unsatisfied with the level of service I receive. The record keeping is terrible and the poor call service people do their best but alas I've had to call 4 times in the last month trying to solve an escrow account situation where they are trying to charge me for a policy that the condo association covers. I keep getting the run around, and the service representatives do not like that I mentioning that I am frustrated with the service levels. However, when I ask to speak to a supervisor, I don't get put through. It shouldn't take 4 phone call to process paper work, I was promised this will be done today, but I am not hopeful. Rule of thumb: go to your local bank for a mortgage and hopefully you won't end up it this mess of a situation. read more

This is the rudest company I have ever dealt with. I live in a neighborhood where everyone was being overcharged on their escrow accounts. When you call to get help or answers, they don't listen to you. They just talk at you instead and then when you ask to speak to a manager or supervisor, they put you on hold for a very long time. Very unprofessional! read more

Spoke to Andrew Barrett at this company. He sent a quote over email. After submitting the questionnaire and taking to him over the phone for 40min. The rates have changed significantly higher. During the converstation, he kept changing the numbers as to the credit he will be offering instead of what he sent. His argument was that the rates change all the time and now things are different. In the end I had to hang up on the guy. I say don't waste your time. read more

It was a pleasure doing business with Roundpoint Mortgage Corporation (Loan Officer Todd Andrews). I had just retired, and my wife--who is eleven years my junior and still employed--and I were looking for ways to reduce expenses. We own two homes, and it appeared that interest rates had fallen enough to save at least $400/month on our combined 30-year fixed conventional mortgages by re-financing. Several months prior to initiation of the re-fi procedure, I announced plans to do so, and by the time we were ready, 13 mortgage companies had contacted us, most of them several times. Considering the large number of firms who told me they were equipped and inclined to provide a "better deal" than all of their competitors, I decided to put them all to the test. I prepared an inquiry and sent email copies to all of them, plus the two incumbent mortgage companies. The inquiry had considerable detail about us and the properties, enough to allow an experienced loan officer to readily determine whether we would qualify, and to prepare accurate quotations. Our information showed essentially very strong qualifications--very high credit scores, much more than enough liquid assets to pay off the mortgages, and enough income during the past three years to qualify for double the amount being borrowed. However, our current income came only from my wife's employment, because I had just retired, and I was not even collecting Social Security benefits, because I was waiting to be old enough to collect the maximum monthly amount. Therefore, there was some question as to whether our debt to income ratio would be low enough, especially as the government had stiffened the requirement several months prior. I specified that we were looking for prompt and firm quotations that could be locked within a few days. I asked for note interest rates and all costs associated with refinancing. I explained that the most competitive numbers were needed at the outset, because there would be no opportunity to revise numbers later on. I promised that no offeror would be told the amounts of other offers. Finally, I warned that the offers must be realistic, that any attempt to raise them following selection would result in termination of talks in favor of the next higher offers. Five of the firms (including the two incumbents) failed to reply. Almost all of the others replied in less than one business day after the emails were sent, and the remainder replied within two days later. Three of the firms who replied provided no bid, one of them saying--after examining and understanding our circumstances--that we needed to wait until I was collecting Social Security benefits. I telephoned the originators of the three best-appearing offers (including Roundpoint). The reason for these discussions had nothing to do with pricing, only to make sure the offerors understood our circumstances and were prepared to carry the process through with no unpleasant underwriting surprises. These three offerors not only understood our circumstances but used creativity and superior experience to overcome the debt to income ratio issue. Roundpoint not only had the best interest rates and lowest costs, but had the most attractive solution for the debt to income ratio issue. Moreover, by the date of the my decision, conditions changed to allow them to lower the costs even further. This was done without any prompting from me. During the processing period, which lasted four weeks, Roundpoint showed, through its operating efficiency, why it can afford to beat the competition. Moreover, its personnel were accessible and responsive to questions at all times. Not surprisingly, the settlement statements show that Roundpoint stuck to its offers as rendered. No firm, including Roundpoint, is able to satisfy every customer, and those who are disappointed are often quick to vent. I considered it only fair to make public a very pleasant experience. read more

I received excellent service from Roundpoint Mortgage Company. I just did a refinance loan that just closed last week after Labor Day and was very happy with the service I received from Roundpoint. I got an excellent rate of 3.75% on a 15 year fixed with 0 points. You know, after I locked my rate in the interest rates went down a little further. Go figure! Who thought they would ever be this low! I am happy with the rate I got. No hidden fees and nothing unusual. Just the normal fees of title, etc and appraisal fee of $375. Everything quoted me and everything in the Good Faith Estimate was very accurate and right on. Doing it over the internet, I was cautious at first but uploading the documents to them was easy and only had to fax just a small number of documents to them after that. E-signing the documents over the internet made things easier as I could do them at home at night after work. Although a lot of them to do as there always is with Real Estate papers. There was a small typo in my original documents on my home address in the E-documents. There was road instead of avenue in my address. No big deal and I told them about it right away and they corrected it and assured me that the final paperwork would show it as being corrected and it was. Matt Werner my loan officer was great. Answered my questions right away whether I called him or when I emailed him. Sometimes it was the next day due to time zone. I am in Lakewood, California and they are in Charlotte North Carolina. Always got an answer to my questions in a timely manner and got regular updates every week. The loan will go through many people at Roundpoint as each as specific jobs to do on your loan. All the people that worked on my loan, Stacy Tadych, Erica Price and Matt Werner all answered my emails right away even with the time zone difference. I got nothing but a very positive experience with working with Roundpoint Mortgage. They are very busy with interest rates at historic low rates and it is important to check with them on a regular basis about the progress of your loan. Don't just wait for them to contact you after you submit your documents but check in with them once a week to see if they need anything from you and what step you are at in the process of your loan. The entire process was simple and the notary came to my house on a Saturday so me and my wife could sign the final papers for our refi and we did not have to miss any work. The loan funded and escrow closed on time and we are very pleased with the low rate we got. Their rates were much lower than any walk in bank and are lower than most internet mortgage companies too. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a mortgage or refinance. read more

I recently closed on a mortgage through RoundPoint after reading many positive reviews and getting a positive recommendation from a coworker. Overall I'm very happy with them, but there were a few negative points, mainly regarding communication. Someone who's been through the mortgage process before probably wouldn't have been tripped up by these issues, but as a first time buyer, I could have used a bit more hand-holding. Pros: - Great rates! - The online application process is awesome. RoundPoint's system of pulling my credit report and pre-populating all my existing loans and such was much nicer than having to enter all the data manually as I did with other places. - Almost the entire process was completed online, with only a few documents needing to be printed, signed in ink, and faxed. - They sent a mobile notary out to my office after business hours to sign the final documents. - Managed to close on time, even on a somewhat compressed schedule. Cons: - Lack of communication, especially at the beginning of the process. After completing the application and paying the fee to lock my rate and start the appraisal process, I got an email that said a loan processor would contact me shortly, and then nothing for days. I started hounding them via phone and finally managed to get ahold of someone who told me my application was "stuck in the system" somehow, but he was able to unstick it eventually. - One document was provided for me to sign electronically, then a few days later someone emailed to ask when I was going to get around to faxing it to them. He said the e-signed version wasn't good enough and that the website "hadn't been updated yet". - They sometimes weren't very specific about what they wanted. For example, I was asked for proof that my earnest money check had been deposited, so I sent in a scan of the cancelled check. Two days later, they replied and said that wasn't good enough, and they'd need a 30-day history from my checking account showing that the money was withdrawn. No problem, but why not just ask for that in the first place? Same thing with the letter I had to write explaining all recent credit inquiries - I used the exact wording from the sample letter they provided, but it was rejected because it didn't include a specific phrase they needed to see, which was absent from their sample letter. read more

I used Roundpoint for a refinance. They beat the rest of the market by at least 1/8th of a point interest and had NO lender fees, points, etc. Their loan was clearly the best deal available to me (I have excellent credit and plently of equity). I shopped both local brokers (very expensive) and other internet brokers (close, but no cigar). I was also able to save on the appraisal because 1. The original loan was less than 80% LTV, 2. The county appraisal was above original purchase price, 3. I was not taking cash out. I was unaware that it was possible to use a $75 quick appraisal instead of the $400 originally quoted until their loan officer suggested it. This $325 savings was icing on the cake as far as I was concerned. If you go into a deal with Roundpoint, be aware of a few things. 1. You will have multiple people asking you questions and preparing your paperwork. Roundpoint apparently prefers to have their employees doing very specific tasks to get the loan funded. 2. The "salesman" is always available to answer questions over the phone, but everybody else works only over e-mail. They are responsive over e-mail, but do not publish their phone extensions. I did not have a problem and did not need to talk to anybody. 3. Documents are somewhat more difficult to provide compared to a "local" provider. Be aware that you need to electronically sign paperwork and scan/fax all supporting documentation. Roundpoint makes it fairly easy and straightforward, but you have to understand that they are an internet business and they operate entirely electronically up until the time you meet with the notary to sign the final documents. It would be very difficult to close a loan using a library internet connection, for example. If you have a computer with internet/e-mail and know how to use your fax machine/scanner, you are in business. I was pleasantly surprised that my loan closed faster than originally expected, and Roundpoint absolutely delivered on every promise. I highly recommend. read more

I recently took on a mortgage with RoundPoint. I really had nothing to complain about until it came time to close. I was purchasing a home in Colorado from Texas and working a 6 day/12hr Turnaround, therefore I was intent upon closing by mail. The secondary plan was to gain POA for my Father and have him sign the closing documents, but that also fell through because I found out that it was necessary to get the POA @ 6pm on the day before close. I made the mistake of following the "no news is good news" motto and should have been more on top of the schedule, however I was paying these people for a service and part of that service was closing in the contractually allotted time. RoundPoint didn't inquire about where to send the closing documents until the afternoon of the day before close. This made it impossible to close by mail or by POA. They are difficult to get ahold of on short notice. At the time of this post the market was extremely hot in the seller's favor. At the very least they should have had the closing documents and figures to the title company days in advance, but barely managed to get them there on the day of close. I was forced to fly to Colorado from Texas to avoid the deal falling through. Luckily, I brought my Wife along for the ride because RoundPoint (after we flew overnight to close) decided that my Wife needed to also sign closing documents even though she was on none of the loan paperwork and was not legally required to sign anything per Colorado law. The long and short of it is that RoundPoint makes money by delaying close where possible. This is taken in the form of percentage points on the loan. I did manage to close on time, but was out the cost of last minute one way flights to and from Colorado (not completely sure that close would happen as scheduled). Be wary and vigilant and consider a local lender that knows state law. read more

I just completed a mortgage refinance with Roundpoint. I was very satisfied and would use this company again. I would actually rate them closer to a 4.5 than a 4. The entire process took about 30 days and could have been even quicker (they were waiting on me more than I was waiting on them). Roundpoint had the best interest rate AND the lowest fees of the many lenders I researched. The title fees (a 3rd party fee) were a good bit higher than others lenders I researched but the overall fees were still significantly less than the next closest lender. They are a mortgage broker so they will turn around and sell your mortgage to one of the large banks but that happened to me three times on my last mortgage (when a mortgage broker was not used) so that was not a big deal to me. There were a few minor glitches during the process but each one was handled quickly and professionally. My questions were answered very quickly and to my satisfaction. This is an Internet based process so most contacts are via email (can be by phone) and your documents will need to either be faxed in or uploaded to their website. Given the very sensitive nature of the information involved, I was not entirely comfortable with that part but it seemed to work well. The actual "close" is a one-hour in-person sit down (you choose where and when) with a notary. You do receive the settlement Payoff Statement (the payoff, fees and loan info) before the close but you do not receive all the legal documents that you will need to sign. The notary does go over them page by page but you will not have enough time to read them all in detail. However, you do have a three day window after signing the documents to cancel the transaction. We chose to hire a closing attorney to review the documents to give us more of a comfort level. The lawyer saw no problems with the documents. read more

I was looking to refinance my house so I contacted Roundpoint Mortgage. They quoted me a rate and credit toward closing costs. It was by far the best offer i received. I applied for the loan, and was immediately given a rate lock. Soon after i applied, mortgage rates started going up fast, and people started locking in loans.Roundpoint and other lenders became very busy, and Roundpoint needed to delay my closing date beyond my rate lock date. When I received the delay notification a new extended rate lock came with it.. . During my new rate lock period mortgage rates continued to go rise.I began to wonder if Roundpoint would close the loan or back out like numerous other mortgage companies would.. The closing date came. Roundpoint sent me a copy the documents to review. They contained my original interest rate, and the original closing cost credit. Nothing changed, and there was no request for me to renegotiate any of the original terms. Everything was just as my loan officer, Chade Groce, said it would bel Chad was great to work with. They honored their agreement even though the market had changed.Interest rates were up 1/2 to 3/4 percent, and no closing cost credits were available at my interest rate .In fact, closing costs were being added there were no credits . they were gone.. Roundpoint did not have to honor their deal with me I am just another person off the street.Had they not closed ,there was nothing i could do. i do not have any influence, Bottom line they treated me the way they treat their customers. That is why i am writing this review. These guys are honest and conduct business with integrity.. I am glad i picked them. They honor their commitments, and treat their customers with respect. read more

We were very reluctant to utilize the internet for our Re-Fi as we have always dealt with our personal banker & had no idea what to expect. Spoke with her ..being in rural Maine our local & regional banks cannot compete with the national banks or mortgage companies...she directed us in our search. We first contacted Quicken....and truly felt we were being hustled and did not appreciate the young rep's approach. A few days later....late on a Friday afternoon we made a call to RoundPoint Mortgage and were so lucky to have reached Shellie Russell. We spoke for 5 minutes....gave her the quick facts, figures & what we were looking for. She said she would call back on Saturday at Noon.......she did!! Spoke for another half hour...and what we appreciated was her direct approach...no time wasted with needless chitter chatter. We ran into a couple of hurdles, however, with Shellie's experience (over 20 years in mortgage financing) she expertly guided us through the process. Shellie worked tirelessly on our behalf....every email sent was responded to same day...usually within a few minutes same with phone calls....always pleasantly direct, very positive, and professional. Most importantly, she earned our trust. Our final steps were taken with Jason Freeman as our loan processor...another true professional. We were able to get a terrific rate with courteous personal service...with Quicken it felt as though we needed to take a number at the Deli counter....RoundPoint.......as though we were sitting in our trusted bankers office. Initial contact to loan approval (which was today 12/6/13) 5 weeks...closing on 12/11. This company can be trusted and please feel free to contact Shellie Russell!!! Less read more

I recently had the pleasure of interacting with one of RoundPoint Mortgage's stellar customer service representatives, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I reached out for assistance, Carolyn exuded warmth and professionalism. Her pleasant demeanor immediately put me at ease, and it was evident right away that she genuinely cared about helping me resolve my inquiries. Not only was Carolyn incredibly pleasant to converse with, but her competence shone through every step of the way. She demonstrated an impressive depth of knowledge regarding the insurance claim process, effortlessly addressing all of my questions and concerns. What truly set her apart, however, was her evident passion for her job and the company she represents. It was palpable in every interaction that she takes immense pride in her work and genuinely believes in the value that RoundPoint Mortgage delivers to its customers. This level of enthusiasm is incredibly rare to encounter, and it made the entire experience all the more delightful. Overall, my experience with Carolyn was nothing short of amazing. In a world where exemplary customer service often feels like a distant fantasy, encountering someone as exceptional as her was truly a breath of fresh air. Her pleasant demeanor, unparalleled competence, and genuine passion for her job and the company she represents make her a true asset to RoundPoint Mortgage. I cannot thank her enough for her outstanding assistance, and only hope the company she works for also recognizes her value to them as a business and their customers. Kudos Carolyn! read more

Update: they have been responsive on the phone and via email. They are three stars because no one can tell why someone called our insurance co to change it which is just mysterious. It is changed back. *** The servicing of my mortgage was unfortunately transferred to Roundpoint. Day 1 and there are already issues. We recently closed on our home and had paid one year upfront homeowners insurance. But I received a letter in the mail from our insurance company stating that Roundpoint decided to change it and escrow our payments. BUT we have already paid and we NEVER had an escrow account in our original loan. They are closed today and I plan to call tomorrow and alert them that I called the insurance company and changed it back to non escrow. If they 1) understand this 2) change it back to non escrow and 3) I receive no penalties or fees, I will update this review. If they don't, I plan to alert the NC Banking Commission, BBB, the CFPB, the President (Dave Worrall) and every other organization and person I can find (via Linkedin, Travistock, public records, etc) that is related to this issue. The reviews (and the incompetence of the person on the phone who called me to 'Welcome' me to Roundpoint) have me at guard from the very beginning. We are actually considering refinancing with another company who won't sell the mortgage to avoid what seems to be never ending issues. I plan to be very vocal via social media outlets about this as that seems to be the only form of power consumers have since you can't change your mortgage servicing co. read more

I was COMPLETELY skeptical about going through with my new home mortgage with RoundPoint mortgage; especially since I live in Arizona; and they are in North Carolina. However; I figured i couldn't pass on the excellent rates; so I would give it a try. All I have to say is ask for JOHN TEAL - he is a STUD! From the beginning he reassured me that I had nothing to worry about. He couldn't have been more correct. I honestly don't usually trust these reviews becuase most of the time anyone who leaves a review is usually upset; but since John was so good at keeping his word throughout my mortgage process; I feel a strong obligation to leave the best review possible. My loan wasn't the most straight-forward which was another reason for concern; but we actually closed EARLY! The title company asked how I heard about them; they were so impressed with their ability to close early and low fees that they wanted to refer them to others! I can't say anything bad; I understand they probably aren't perfect; but they were PERFECT for me! I still call John to ask questions and we are like pals now; CALL HIM. He is very direct; but he knows what he is doing! And you won't beat their rates anywhere!!! The key is no fees built into the APR. You will definitely get the best bang for your buck...and on a mortgage this is crucial. John Teal: 704.426.8862 You won't be dissapointed. If you think this is fake; i'll give you my phone number; just ask for it; I can't stand fake reviews. - Craig B. Gilbert, Arizona read more

My experience: As a first-time home buyer, I was unaware of the patience required to deal with the mortgage process. I had assumed it would be a simple, quick process, but it is more complicated than that, When I first contacted RoundPoint during the first couple of days in August 2013, I was under the belief that closing by the end of the month was definitive. However, by the time I agreed to switch to RoundPoint after a few days, I did not officially get started until 08/07/2013. After a challenging start - again after ignorantly assuming that getting the mortgage done by the end of the month was perfectly unproblematic - I came to the realization that closing in 22 days would be highly unlikely. After adamantly expressing my problem, several additional individuals came to my rescue: Lauren Liberto, Ed Powell, and Michelle Lesak. To their credit, they jumped on the problem and made sure I was actually able to close by the end of the month - which I did today at 12:00 PM! 22 Days to close my mortgage! Purchase loans are a bit different for those of us having to move out and are working on a deadline. They realized the pressing need of my problem and went above and beyond in solving the problem set before them. Kudos to RoundPoint! (not to mention the fact I saved a lot of money in the process....) And my apologies to Daphne Daye and Jerry Austen for my impatience; tact has not often been used in conjunction with my name - take care, guys! Sincerely, Peter K, Saint Louis MO read more

Roundpoint saved us thousands of dollars over the local mortgage brokers, $15,000 over the life of the loan! As long as you are computer savvy and don't mind communicating through email and on-line, this is the way to go for new home loans. Don't let the fact that it is an internet lender scare you (our realtor and local broker tried to talk us out of it). Roundpoint is easy to work with and can save you lots of money! Roundpoint did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. There were no hidden fees, and no hidden hoops to jump through. At each phase in the application process we had a different person we were supposed to be dealing with, which I thought might be difficult, but it was pretty seamless. Like other mortgage companies, the underwriters did ask for additional information that was not requested up front, but it was nothing that we could not easily produce, provide, sign/fill out. We ran into some technical difficulties e-signing documents and ended up wet signing them and then uploading them instead. It took a couple days to sort out, but did not cause any major delays or problems. A big thanks to our original loan officer, Daniel Weishaar, who was with us throughout the process and was always available to answer our questions, or make sure that someone else did. Overall, we give Roundpoint and everyone we dealt with there five stars (or whatever the most stars is) and would recommend them to anyone. read more

VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE: I am a Financial Advisor to High Net Worth individuals and families; and just happen to also work for a large national Bank. While I initially looked into refinancing with Roundpoint at the recommendation of a friend who told me about her "awesome experience"; I was very skeptical that this company would ever meet (let alone exceed) my personal service expectations. Since I consider superior customer service pivotal to my professional success; I refuse to do business with any person or company who does not exhibit the same commitment to their customers as I do to mine. With this said, while my closing took a little longer than I expected since I could have gone with my own employer company; I am thrilled that I took the time to speak with a Roundpoint Mortgage Specialist about their loan programs. I definitely tested the patience of this woman with all of my endless questions; but she was thorough in her answers both before and after I told her I worked for a very large Bank and one of her company's major competitors. I doubled checked every number and actually read every line on every page. In the end, my experience was very good and I have since referred friends and colleagues to their website. Folks need to remember to be patient with the refinance process...you and a couple million other people are all trying to do the same thing as quickly as possible. read more

Round Point Mortgage doesn't understand the meaning of customer service. Make sure you record all calls with this mortgage servicer. They will tell you anything to get you off the phone. I was told by 4 different people during a span of 2 to 3 weeks that an important doc I needed for my home to be repaired by my hired contractor. I even went a step further and provided an overnight UPS shipping label to receive the important doc within a timely fashion. And going on week 3 now , and after being told by 4 different reps that the docs will be mailed out on the same day of my call. 4 different calls and im still at the starting line. Mind you my home is in a fema disaster area by my zip code. I have my roof exposed to the outside elements and the sad part is my insurance company isn't the hold up of getting my home repaired its my own mortgage company. And for the record my mortgage is current and has never been late!!!! And this is the services you get in return by making on time payments. So if your roof is ripped off by a storm don't expect Round Point Mortgage to be in a rush to help you the homeowner out!! If your loan is ever transferred to Round Point Mortgage request an appeal to block the transfer of the servicing rights to your mortgage. This company has a lot of bad reviews and the sad part is there true about this company very poor !!!!!!! read more

I have had mortgages for almost 40 years with a number of companies. I can say hands down the is the worst company for customer service I have ever had to deal with. The purchased my loan and this has become a nightmare. Speaking to customer non-service is like talking to the wall. Not my fault you purchased my loan but apparently it is my fault that they increase my escrow by over 200 bucks a month due to them increasing my local taxes to match my school taxes. You can see both numbers are identical. When I was not happy with their non-customer service I requested to speak to their supervisor and was ask to wait briefly while she got them on the line. We wait was anything but brief and when the line was picked up it was the same person spitting out the same garbage even though I gave her the exact amount from my tax collector that did not matter. Funny how reading all these reviews I see the same thing happening to others. Makes you wonder if they are not collecting interest on your over payment. I will refi to a higher rate if I have to just so I don't have to deal with this sham company. I would be embarrassed to say I worked for them. If you get a letter in the mail stating you have been bought out by Roundpoint RUN and RUN FAST to another mortgage company. read more

I applied for a cash-out refinance on 6-14-2013 with Roundpoint. This was after I had already closed and cancelled one with a different company because I couldn't see paying thier high fees. Talked with Roundpoint, and they showed me an excellent rate and credit that out did the former one. So I applied. I have excellent credit and the appraisal I already had was transferred over to Roundpoint successfully. I was told that my loan would be closed in less than 30 days. . . Since we already had an appraisal, that sounded fair to me. Well today is July 22nd, it has been like 40 days and I still have not got anything confirmed with them. On June 28th, they sent me an email saying my loan was submitted to initial underwriting and was projected to be there for 3 days and then move to final underwriting/additional info may be needed and was projected to close in 10 to 15 days. Every other day or so I will send an email to inquire about my loan and they respond that it is still in underwriting because they are overwhelmed with loans. The communication is difficult with these guys. For all its worth, I've never had such lack of communication when doing a purchase or refinance. If you can get similar rate and fees somewhere else, you'd probably have better results. read more

1. First, and most importantly they gave me the best interest rate, without having to pay any points. There was no back/forth bargaining. They simply went straight to the lowest rate, lower than anyone prior had given me. I was given the best rate imaginable, a 3.875% rate for a 30 year conventional loan without even putting down a full 20%. 2. I did not even have to sell my current home. So, in essence, I am now making two mortgage payments (however actively trying to sell my current home). 3. Next, they delivered on what they said they would/could. I was able to close on time in less than 30 days. My closing costs were 1/2 what they told me they'd be; which was a surprise as they had already told me their closing costs were some of the lowest in the industry. RoundPoint was responsive to my needs. My primary loan officer Woody was fantastic. I have no problem, whatsoever, recommended that RoundPoint be used by others in the future for their home purchases. Buying a home is a very stressful life event, and RoundPoint made this tolerable. read more

I am deeply dissatisfied with the level of customer service and correspondence I have received from RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing while addressing a credit dispute. Over the past month, my attempts to resolve the issue have been met with a lack of communication, incorrect and inconsistent information, and an erratic escalation process. The inadequately trained customer service agents and supervisors have only added to the challenges. It is concerning that a company of this magnitude is allowed to handle such critical services for customers nationwide. The absence of timely and effective communication from RoundPoint Mortgage, coupled with their poor and inadequate practices, has had a significant impact on both me and my family. It is disconcerting to witness such shortcomings from a company responsible for servicing mortgages, a crucial aspect of everyone's life. The lack of responsiveness and questionable practices raise serious concerns about the reliability and integrity of RoundPoint Mortgage in handling such vital financial matters. read more

I first heard of Roundpoint on Zillow. After reading many reviews and getting the lowest rate possible, I decided to use them to finance my purchase of a second home. My experience with them was great. Mike Remillard at Roundpoint was easily the most knowledgeable mortgage associate I've ever worked with. He returned all my emails/calls the same day and in my opinion went beyond the call of duty when it came to answering all my questions. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone. I liked the fact that they were very thorough when it came to processing all my documents & info. Sometimes a bit too thorough, but hey, If more lenders worked like this, we'd probably be a lot better off. Overall I was very happy with the rate I got, all the other lenders I contacted couldn't come close. I thought their online system was great and if you're internet/tech savvy, then you'll have an ever better experience with it. My loan closed without a hitch and I plan on using them again in the future. read more
